HP AiO Remote will not recognize scan and copy function of HP Envy 120 printer
Good morning! HP AiO Remote App is installed on my iPad4 and in the same WiFi network with my HP Envy 120 printer. The printer is recognized by the app and marked with a green led. When I tap on scan or copy in the app menu, it tells me that these functions were available in the app only for printers which provide these features. But HP Envy 120 has both scanner and copier. And last time it worked. Some idea what could have happened here? Thanks. UJ
Hi UJKarl, welcome to the HP Forums. You should be able to scan from the HP AIO Remote App on your Envy 120 printer. You probably just need to power cycle the printer, iPad and router to regain proper function.
Turn off your printer with the power button. Power down the iPad by holding the sleep button down until you get the option to 'slide to power off'. Then disconnect the power cord to your router and count to about 10, and then plug it back in. Once the router comes back online, turn the printer on. When the printer comes back online (blue wi-fi light stops blinking), then power the iPad back up. Try again, and it should work.

TRIED EVERYTHING!!! computer will not recognize IPOD and no charging
Tried changing cords; tried reinstalling all software; tried to determine if conflicting software; ran ipod out of power and my computer still will not recognize when I plug it in. Backlight initially lights up but ipod does not show up in device manager, itunes does not recognize it and ipod will not charge---ipod will charge on Bose speaker platform though....ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
If none of the above help, then it may be an issue that requires service so why not take advantage of the warranty?

Samsung Convoy U640 will not recognize/scan downloaded music
I've downloaded wma files to the phone via Media Player but the phone will not recognize the files. Formatted the disk in the PC. Files do not have security as far as I can see/understand. The source wma files that were created in Media Player by ripping CDs and the downloaded files on the microSD card both play fine in Media Player. Phone keeps telling me that there are no files on the disk, but they are there. It was hard to find any music file specs for the Convoy U640 but I found one that says they should play wma files. First time trying this. Does the Convoy U640 play wma files? Phone is up to date driver-wise.
Tried a few more times. Gave up on Verizon procedures, Samsung procedures, Media Player. Ran SanDisk Media Manager that came free with the SD card. Three or four clicks and I downloaded 750 songs without a hitch. Worked perfectly. Thanks San Disk!

IMac will not recognize scan function of all in one printer
My 24" iMac will print on the HP Photosmart 3210xi All in One, but will not scan.
Twice, (to ensure I didn't miss anything) I have run the manual un-install procedures prescribed from HP, and installed the appropriate driver for Mac with no success.
When I try to scan, the scanner wants to begin, but the computer displays the message, "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)" We have the correct driver (Not the Print only option).
This printer still works "full-up" on the clunker PC, so it's not a hardware issue with the printer.
Any others with similar all-in-one issues? Solutions?I had the same problem with my HP Photosmart 2610xi All In One Printer. I went to the HP website and downloaded the full feature software/drivers and now it works great. Below is the software that you should download for your printer...hope it works for you!

I used Ion Profile Pro turntable to digitize some old records. It worked fine for most of the records, but on five or six albums I get an error message saying "the original file can't be found" and it won't transfer them to my iPod Touch. However, the files are on my hard disk digitized and I can click on them and play them in Windows Media Player. When I go to iTunes, the records (or the CD created from the original records) exits in the iTunes libraries for sale. However, in some cases, the contents of the album offered for sale differs slightly from the original record, or the songs exist on different albums, but not the original album that I had. In some cases minor misspellings occurred on a few titles when they were entered in the ION softwareon my computer. In a few cases, it seemed as if ION did not recognize that there were two or three songs and ran them all together as one and again, my song list does not exactly match Apple's.
I own these songs, but iTunes won't put them on my iPod Touch. Is there anything I can do (short of paying for songs I already own) to get Apple to recognize these songs?You seem to have an iTunes problem, not an iPod problem. Try posting in the iTunes forum.

my iphone 4g has crashed. itunes doesn't seem to recognize it and wil not let me restore it. i have updated all software and there are no anti-virus apps/software on the macbook that this phone syncs with. i do get an error message on the phone that says something like the accessory is not compatible but I have no accessory for the phone other than the apple chargers and ear buds. any thoughts?
The possible fix for the "this accessory is not compatible" is to carefully clean the dock port with isopropyll alcohol especially the pins which are on top of the mid rib. Be firm but do not break anything. Let it dry for a minute. See if that helps, if not try to clean one more time. If problems persist might need to Visit Apple.

HP PhotoSmart Premium inkjet printer - model c309a will not always scan or copy
My HP PhotoSmart Premium injet printer (model C309a) will sometimes not scan a document. When I press the "Scan" or "Copy" button, the display shows "Scanning" but nothing happens.... Otherwise, the printer seems to work fine.
This "will not scan" problem happens sporadically. It seems to be somehow associated with having the Bluetooth function turned off. Go figure! (I only use wired ethernet to connect the printer to my home network.)
In any case, powering off the printer and powering it on again seems to solve the problem. When I encounter the "will not scan" problem, the power button will not usually work - I need to pull-out the power cord in order to reset the printer.
I also note that when I have the Bluetooth function turned off, it turns itself on again after a power-off / power-on cycle.
I think the firmware in the printer may have corrupted. Or more probably it could be that the latest HP firmware update for this printer has a bug. However, I cannot re-install the latest version of the firmware for this printer because of another "bug" in the firmware update utility. I understand why you may feel it is not a power issue, but from my experience I have seen the power source impact printer functions, particularly scanning. Even though it has worked previously, it still could be the surge protector. For argument sake (and I am by no means arguing with you ) I think we should connect it directly to a wall outlet for say a week and just see if the issue occurs. It is tough to troubleshoot an intermittent issue sometimes, but I am more than happy to tackle this with you.
If you are still reluctant to move the printer to a wall outlet, we can try a few other things, but if in the end it keeps occuring I vote we at least take the power source into consideration. In the meantime, let's try the steps in the following 2 documents;
Buttons on the All-in-One Control Panel Do Not Function
'An error occurred while communicating with scanning device' or a 'There is no computer connection' ...

I've tried charging it for days. it doesnt do anything. I'll hold the home and power button for 10 seconds and it just shows the apple logo and then goes black. and when i plug it into my computer it wont recognize it.
Does it charge when you connect it to the adapter? If yes, make sure it is charged for about 10min, then connect in recovery mode, shown here: iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore

Macbook will not recognize DVD and any External HD
All of a sudden, My two external hard drives, which have loaded perfectly in the past, are not being recognized by OSX. I inserted my Leopard Install DVD and it received the same warning message "The Disk Inserted was not recognized...." The DVD is not showing, nor can be ejected.
when i got to disk utility, the DVD is shown as a blank is inserted. And when i look at the external drives, i have no available options. I "repaired permissions" on the internal HD but that had no effect.
Also, coincidentally, My spotlight has stopped working. It is unable to find anything. When i followed some instructions my out come was "no index". The computer cant seem to read any volumes or something....
I have a feeling there is some sort of conflict, but am not sure how to resolve it.

It is a universal filesystem error, I have tried to force mount the externals to no luck. I get the "no disks available to mount"...... -

Received new IPad 2 4 days a ago. Set-up WiFi on home network and 3G on At&T service all has been working until today. I turned 3G off Thursday so that WiFi was the primary source. Yesterday went to a friends house and IPad recognized WiFi and was able to use. Today not able to use WiFi at home only 3G. WiFi is working on my laptop so that is not the issue. Is there something that I am missing?
WiFi is on, but system is not recognizing it. I am not fimiliar with Ask feature, what is this? I have noticed from other posts that my WiFi indicator in the top left is grayed out. I have tried restore settings that some people have recommended. Sounds like alot of people are having problems with the newest launch of the IPad 2. I had put that I have the iOS 4.3.2 but it is iOS 4.3.3. Is there any problems with this operating system?

Driver for lexmark x1185 (series 1100) for MAC OS 10.7. Anyone has a solution ?
You should contact Lexmark. They have not released a driver for this printer since 10.3, and they no longer sell it. You could try the Generic PostScript PPD and see if you get limited functionality.

I have changed my Apple ID when I got a new email address and confirmed it. However when I go to my iPad to buy an app my old Apple ID comes up and will not recognize the password. I tried going into the settings on my iPad and tapping on the old Apple ID to go in to change it but it will not recognize it and I cannot get in on the iPad to change it. How do I change this ID on my iPad for the iTunes store?

My ipad will not turn on/charge. has been charging for hours. Itunes will not recognize it and i have tried the power/sleep button as well. PLEASE HELP!
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it hasn't been, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
