HP Belgium will not do a Regional Reset of my HP Photosmart

The HP Techical Support Line in Belgium refuses to do a Regional Reset for my printer.
I have an HP Photosmart C4480 from Singapore.  I moved to Belgium this year.  I knew that the ink cartridges were not the same and that printers had regional settings, so I researched HP On-line Support about how to proceed.

This seemed to be the exact answer to my problem, so I was very pleased.  I purchased the new cartriges and got everything set up to call HP Support in Belgium.  This is when the problems started...
I called and explained my situation to the Belgium HP Support for "Printing Systems for Personal Use" +32 78 600 019.  The techitian told me that HP Support cannot reset the regional settings.  I told him that I had already researched it and the HP On-Line Support said that they could.  I gave him all the information about the HP On-Line Support page and read the key parts out to him.  He insisted that HP Support is NOT ALLOWED to do the changes (not that they technically can't do it, but that they are not allowed to do it).  I requested that he speak to the supervisor because I was only following what HP On-Line said.  He said he'd go check with his supervisor and came back a few minutes later to say that NO, they are not allowed to do it!  He said that he had the same request from another person last week (from the Neitherlands because Belgium and Neitherlands share the same support line) and that he gave that person the same answer.  I asked what my other options were, and he said maybe try Singapore or US support.
So next I called US support (Singapore support was closed at that time).  After about 30 minutes waiting on hold, I got connected with a Technician.   I told him what I needed to do, and was told "no problem, we can do the regional reset".  Then we went through all his questions (product number, serial number, contact information, etc, etc, etc).  Next he said my printer was out of warranty (which is true) but I told him the On-Line Support page clearly says that the printer OR the cartriges should be in warranty, and my new cartridges are. He took a few minutes to check this and came back to say ok.  Then after a bit more discussion, he said "HP US Support cannot do the reset for a Europe country, you need to call HP Support Belgium."  I told him again and again that I already talked to HP Support Belgium and they woud not do the reset.  He gave me a different number to call that he said was HP Belgium and they would help.  Since it was a different number, I said I'd try it and thought maybe it would work.  But when I dialed the number, the phone didn't work because he'd given me the phone number for GREECE not BELGIUM!
So next I called HP Customer Service to explain what was happening.  The person there (Angel) was very pleasent and offered to try and help.  After explaining the story, she put me on hold while she contacted HP Technical Support.  But eventually, she came back with the same answer - the regional reset needed to be done in Belgium!  She gave me yet another number to try (which looked like an HP Belgium number) but I can only get a busy signal when I've tried to call the past two days.
So now I'm stuck with a printer that doesn't work and new cartriges that I can't use.  HP On-Line Support says HP will reset my printer region.  HP US Support saying the regional reset needs to happen in Belgium.  And HP Belgium Support says that they can't do it!
HP seemingly can't get there act together between On-Line Support and Country Support.  I guess I just need to write off my losses and go buy a new printer and new cartriges, but THEY WILL NOT BE HP!

    Well first you have to figure out what is wrong with the machine and solve that problem first.
    Your post is very vague on what occured, and there are many types of "crashes" it really depends upon what see on the screen and what the hardware does, we can't see it to tell you, so you have to tell us.
    I suggest you run through these user tips and provide more information about your hardware.
    Disconnect the TimeMachine drive for now

    Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
    If this is going way over your head, there are local PC/Mac techs that will assist you for a fee, Apple only does hardware repairs and is advised to use them if you discover it is, especially if under warranty/AppleCare.
    Hard drive and RAM upgrades can be handled yourself or by a outside tech in many older models of Mac, but don't expect Apple to cover the new parts.

           Thanks for any help you may have. LR 4.4 worked perfectly on iMac 27' OSX 10.8.5 for 1.5 years until October this year when shut downs began when making adjustments on primarily exposure and shadow sliders. Unit would not restart unless rebooting surge protector(s) after 10-15 minute wait. Apple replaced main board and cleared disc. Back-up and LR 4 reloaded and updated to 4.4.1. New surge protection or direct into receptacle makes no difference and shutdown happens immediately upon slider movement. Any suggestions or self checks an old guy can possibly do? It is Educator/student version.

    The entire computer shuts down and will not restart without a reset of the new (and previous) surge protector or if plugged directly to the wall receptacle anywhere from 30 minute to overnight reset before on button restart will work. Other than slider adjustments on LR, it has only shut down one other time when loading photos via USB 3.0 cable to LR. All images from camera are in RAW. Apple tried to replicate this earlier this week with LR but could not read anything other than an increased usage on one of the diagnostic meters when the sliders were moved quickly from side to side.
    Other computer functions are normal and rarely used except for e-mail, web search, and 90% LR. Plenty of memory in reserve.
    Considering two upgrades (1) LR 5 to get new camera profiles (Pentax K-3)
                                                      (2)Yosemite OSX if it would help the LR4.4 or LR5 actually behave

    If they are still on your Mac's drive then you should be able to add them back into iTunes via File > Add To Library

    I have the same issue on my Ipad Air.  Screen will not rotate, I have reset the settings, still only displays in the portrait mode.  A couple of interesting things though.  a couple of days before it completely locked up into portrait I would have to turn the ipad off and hold it in the orientation I wanted because it would not change orientation after I was in an app.
    Also, I just played a Netflix video and it was in landscape mode.
    Any ideas?

    By a reset, I assume you meaning pressing and holding both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
    What happens if you try to manually place the iPod into Disk Mode?  If you can do that, I would recommend connecting the iPod to iTunes and restoring it.

    i cannot do a force reset... When i hold in the home and sleep/wake button nothing happens, I have tried these same steps over and over again. Neither the apple or the itunes logo ever pop up.. The screen just stays black. I recently replaced the digitizer after my son cracked the screen. I have made sure that nothing was injured during repair. I did put the digitizer ribbon in wrong and then the screen was not working correctly. I had put the ribbon in backwards. So after the first wrong installation of the digitizer, i tried to unlock the screen with my passcode but it obviously wasn't working.. i would touch the number for the passcode but the screen would respond somewhere else..so i kept getting the passcode wrong and then BAM! Ipad disabled.. so i took a break from the frustration... When i returned to my ipad i took it back apart and thats when i realized that i had the digitizer ribbon in backwards, so i fixed it and replaced the screen once again.. But now the ipad is disabled, and for some reason it will not respond when i try to shut it down all the way, no red slider at all...so i bout a apple data transfer cable and i tried to connect it to itunes and hold the buttons like i read to do in the article, and my computer recognizes that my ipad is there,,, it tells me that i have to allow access and to respond on my ipad.. but sadly i cannot.. nothing appears on the ipad.. it stays a black screen and then when i lt go the "ipad is disabled" screen comes on.....
    Then i read online that i could restore from icloud.com, so i go there, i sign in just fine but my ipad is not listed in the devices there either... it says " No Devices, You must be signed into iOS8 settings or Mac OS Yosemite system preferences to see devices."
    And i dont believe the ipad is up to date, it had been unused for about 2 months, until last week when i attempted to fix it so im sure the operating system is old :-(
    So im totally lost, I dont have a clue what to do to get my device recognized. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give,, Thank you so much in advance!!!

  • Lost my toolbars. Have Windows 7 and when in safe mode dialog box will not come up tp reset toolbars.

    When I plug in the cord, my battery remains at 13% with a plug icon inside the battery.
    Try  Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters
    And try a different electrical outlet.

    i just experienced an odd problem. Last night, i turned OFF my iphone before going to sleep (as i do every night, and i would turn it back on when i wake up). This morning, i tried turning on my iphone and nothing happened! i tried charging it (using several different chargers btw) and it wouldnt turn on at all.
    But after looking at this forum, i did a hard reset and it was finally able to turn on again.
    Does anyone know what this problem might be? Even though i got it working already, i'd like to know what might be the cause of it so i can avoid this issue in the future.

    Have you an iCloud email address? Try deleting it temporarily.
