HP C309g-m 3 in 1 Photo Printer - software re-load issue

I am running Windows 8;  I've used this same HP C309g-m 3 in 1 photo printer on a previous Window 7 system.  I've been able to use this printer for a year and up until this week, I've had no issue.  I can print documents, but at this time, I'm unable to open the HP Solution Center to scan documents or pictures.   I do not remember if I had installed anything new prior to having problems.
I rebooted both my laptop and the printer, the error message reappeared (unfortunately, I didn't capture a screen shot of the error message).  I decided to uninstall/reinstall the software.  The uninstall appeared to go without a hitch (I may not, however, have uninstalled the primary software first), so I put the software CD in to reinstall the drivers/software.   There is no option to install the software, only an "exit" option (screen shot  attached).
I went to HP Support and downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  I also used the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.  Both seemed to work w/o a hitch.  The same Install window for the HP C309g printer came up to download the software and drivers.  The download went through the entire process.  When I clicked 'Finish', an error msg came up (screen shot attached).
On a previous help topic, it was suggested to download CCleaner - I decided to do this, but I do NOT want to change my browser in exchange for using the tool, so I cancelled the download.
Here is screen shot of my Program list which shows there are 'empty' remnants of the software previously downloaded.  As you can see, the only software that resulted from today's reinstall is the HP Photo Creations & the Support Solutions Framework.
Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

I have updated my steps to add in removing the USB cable, thanks for pointing that out.
Also, I am VERY happy to hear that the install completed and the scanning is working. I have not received a card for my work before, it was very nice to see that. Thank you.

  • HP Photo Printing Software - How to change predefined sizes in "Design To Page size:" window?

I have a HP Photosmart printer, which came with a photo print application, "HP Photo Printing Software", Version 3.9.0.0.  When I try to change the page size of the photo output using the "Design to Page Size:" screen, I see a list of predefined page sizes (e.g., "4x6 w/tab").  However, these predefined sizes (there are 11) can't be changed from within the program.  For example, if I want to print a 4x6 photo with no border, which is a frequent requirement, there seems to be no way to do it.
How do I change or override these predefined print sizes in this program?  BTW - I have Windows XP on my PC.

    Hi Alex.
You may want to try HP's new photo-printing program, HP Photo Creations. It's a free download at www.hp.com/go/hppc.
To print photos at a predefined size, select the Print-at-Home tab (2), then Prints & Posters (3), then the Prints project (4). Then design your print and select your desired size on the printing screen (7).

  • Photosmart Photo Printing software v 1.5.05

What Photo Printing software allows "photograper pack" creation?  I want to have several different photos of one or more sizes on a single sheet of paper.  Older printer (Win 95-XP) standard software was this style.  No drivers (x86 or 64 bit) for Windows 7?

    Hello, Mr. Seely.
Try the collage print project in HP Photo Creations. You can add up to 60 photos to a page and resize them as a group. HP Photo Creations is a free download at www.hp.com/go/hppc.
Click the Design Tools and then the Photo Layouts tabs to explore different arrangements. This example shows an overlapping arrangement with photo borders on a textured background. The program offers thousands of background styles. You may want to try Plain White or Plain Black to begin.
We hope you enjoy HP Photo Creations,

  • Recommend good photo printer software (don't like iPhoto's)?

I don't like the way that the iPhoto 'print Photo/s' software works.
I used to use Canon Image browser, with that I could select, for example, three photos. place them all on one A4 sheet of paper, and scale each one individually to the size I wanted. ie have one large, the other two smaller. It cut down on a lot of waste paper. IPhoto will only let me put all the images at the same size, as far as I can work out.
Canon Image Browser is not Leopard compatible, boo-hoo. Does anyone have any recommendations for other (free) software I could use to achieve the same as my old? Or is it possible with iPhoto?
    CJHEERS!

Canon has: Canon PowerShot ImageBrowser 6.1.1a which is Leopard compatible. I downloaded it just this morning.
Do you have a 3rd party editor that you like? I use Photoshop to do most of my printing. Photoshop Elements for Mac is an amazing editor, can do advanced editing, and does color management to give you optimal prints.
Others are Portraits and Prints, Acorn, Pixelmator. You can use them as the 3rd party editor in iPhoto safely but not ImageBrower as it's a browser and not strictly an editor. Go to iPhoto's General preferences and set the Edit Photo: to your editor of choice.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Photo printing software

Are there any good photo printing programs out there. I had an old HP that would give me a hundred different options to fit as many sizes to one page. Now all they have is printing one photo to one page no mater what size. What a waste of paper.

  • Selphy Photo Print software alternative?

I was able to use https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5510939 to set up my Selphy CP900 on my MacbookAir - however, the printing software won't install. It's called Selphy Photo Print. I can get the printer to work, but was looking forward to using this software to quickly resize photos. I often print smaller than 4x6 and would like to put more than one photo on a piece of photo paper. I'm familiar with collage-making software on my phone, but don't want to have to make a collage every tme I want to print pics. I'm also not interested in putting photos on a memory card and printing straight from the printer. Any alternatives or work arounds?

    Hello vasiliurobert.
The CP810 was not sold here in the United States.  This unit appears to be a model that was sold in Europe.

  • Printer software has caused issues

I would like to start by saying that I am fairly new to the wonderful world of mac, but very happy and excited to learn.
I have an older Imac with an intel core 2 duo processor, 12 gb ddr 3 ram, and a 1 tb Hard drive. OSX 10.9.4
I dont know why but when I installed the drivers for my printer (HP Officejet 6700)  I started to experience issues.  Naturally I have tried to delete the software to no avail.  How do I completely remove software is my first question.
It has caused some issues with permissions and I have used disk utility to repair the permissions but it isn't working either. This is the permission and it wont change.
    Permissions differ on “Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/Safari.help/Contents/Resources/inde x.html”; should be lrwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x .
All the info is here.  I need some help to figure out what is going on.  Please help

It's best to describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible, rather than what you think is causing it or how you think it should be solved. The permission warnings are meaningless, and repairing permissions is a waste of time.

  • Using C4795 printer for 4X6 photo printing. Prints not registered, can start randomly on page, skip

C4795, printing 4X6 photos with new iMAC and iPhoto software.  Downloaded latest drivers.  Printing starts randomly on page,
sometimes skipping half a page, sometimes just a sliver.  Prints are OK with my other 8150 printer, but not 4795.  Any ideas?
    Thanks, John

    Hi John.
Perhaps it's a printer configuration problem (maybe the paper size is set to a different value than what's in the printer), but you may want to try printing with HP Photo Creations as a test. The program is a free download from www.hp.com/go/hppc, and can load photos from your iPhoto library.
Here's a quick tutorial on printing 4x6 photos with HP Photo Creations:

  • How to print with a Canon Compact Photo Printer CP-330?

never found a so hard issue, I'm used to plug&play hardware...
can anyone help me printing from iPhoto or Photoshop to a Canon Compact Photo Printer CP-330?
I tried with Canon's drivers, with Gimp 5, anything... one time the printer started working, then stopped after the first pass (yellow color)... frustrating...
    thanks

    Hi there,
If you have had no luck with the Canon or Gutenprint drivers then you may have a printer problem. Have you been able to print from it using your memory card directly connected?
If you think/know the printer is okay then I would look at the cups error log to determine why the spool is failing. This log is located in the Console application.

  • Photo printing slow one line at a time

My first time printing phots on my Officejet 4620 and it is taking 20 minutes per picture one line at a time. Very frustrated. Call the help line and was told tht how this printer works.....

Many things can affect printing photos. Wireless connectivity (if applicable), paper size, print quality, software used to print the photo, printer design optimization (photo printer vs. office printer), security software used on your computer,  etc.....
That being said, this photo printing document may offer some information of benefit:

  • Bad photo prints on HP CP5225dn Printer

    Hey all,
Having an issue outputting photos on my new HP Color LaserJet P5225dn printer from Adobe products. Am curious if anyone else might have run across the same issue and possibly found a solution. Here's the background information...
    Running Windows 8.1 Pro.
HP Envy Phoenix w/Intel core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
    32 GB RAM
    2TB Raid 0 HD
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Spyder-profiled HP Pavilion 25xi monitors (dual setup)
Running Adobe Creative Cloud (latest builds--issue present in prior versions, too).
Using HP Universal Print Driver PS (latest version--only option on Windows 8), but have tried PCL 4 and 5 drivers as well.
When printing from Adobe products, any photo seems to print without the yellow color. Color swatches and vector files print correctly. This issue seems to only apply to raster images--greens print blue, browns print purple, oranges print magenta. I have had HP support out to examine hardware of printer and everything checks out.
I have tried every combination of ICC profile, paper setting imaginable. Have tried printing as CMYK and RGB. Have reset preferences in Adobe software. Color issues are present in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and the images print consistently off in all products (is purple in INDD is also purple in PSD, etc.). I have reset printer to defaults. I have tried removing color management and printing. I have tried printer diagnostics. I have tried having the printer manage color. I have tried having the application manage color. Everything prints consistently wrong.
I've updated video drivers, searched for ICC profiles specific to the printer, recalibrated monitors, no dice. Funny thing is that when you take that same file and send it to another printer, it prints accurately.
Any ideas for troubleshooting are much appreciated. Any solutions would be fantastic.

How do I print a Live Photo from an Android device?
Printing from HP Live Photo on Android is currently supported via the HP ePrint mobile app.  Most HP printers are supported.
You can also print to printers not supported by the HP ePrint app or non-HP printers using other Android print options.  See below for more information.
How do I use the HP ePrint Mobile app to print to HP Printers?
Install the HP ePrint mobile app.  Google Play store link.
