Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thansk,
Tony

Darn, I'm really sorry and I really hate to hear that.  Can you try one more thing?  Have you tried the Printer Install Wizard?  It is a small HP app that will try to automatically install the product for you.  You can find instructions on how to download and use the tool here.  Once that page opens, expand the + sign next to 'Method One:  Use the HP Printer Install Wizard (Recommended) and follow the instructions from there.  I can't guarantee it will work, but it's worth a shot before spending money on a new printer.
Thanks!

    Hi foberg,
Follow the steps below to update the software to the latest version.
    Step one: Clear temp directory
    1. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
    2. Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete. If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this file(s).
    3. Continue with Step 2 below
Step two: Downloaded and extracted to your system:
    1. Download the full feature software and drivers
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-74912-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=
    2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.
    3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
    4. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
    5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy
    7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.
    8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
    9. Open folder Util
    10. Open folder CCC
    11. Run the uninstall_L4
    12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    13. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
    14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.

  • Ipad 4 unable to detect C4599 Printer already connected to WiFi network

Hi All, I have a C4599 All in One Printer. I have just set this up sucessfully with a WiFi connection to my home router/ modem network (infrastructure mode). There are no error messages and I can print from a variety of Windows laptops (XP, Vista and 7). I have loaded the HP eprint app to my Ipad 4 but it cannot detect the printer. Note that the HP website says that this printer is compatible with the ePrint App.
A second and possibly related issue is that I have registered with the HP eprint service website but I cannot obtain the code or email address for my printer. I cannot find any way of turning on the Web Services on the printer? (The HP website says this should be under Setup>Wireless on the printer but it is not. There are only options for turning the wireless on and off, testing the wireless and printing the network and printer wireless settings (which are all OK>PASS or just information).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

With the last update that was done to the ePrint app, some of the legacy printers lost the capability to use that app to print from. The printer would not have the option to print directly from the iPad to the printer either. That is a feature known as AirPrint. When one has the ability to use AirPrint, one has to place the device on the same network as the printer, pull up a photo, tap the action button on the iPad and then select print. The iPad will then give one an option of which printer to print from if there is more than one printer capable of of AirPrint on the network.
The printer cannot produce a code to signup and register for ePrint due to the age of the printer. Printers that have the ability to ePrint are a majority of the ones that were put into production from 2010 and later. Some Photosmarts that have the capability to use ePrint and AirPrint are the 7520,6520 and the 5520. To learn more about those printers, check out this link here.

    Hopefully this re-post will help.
    Question/s...

    2. Also, getting printing error after HP Director shows C4500 wireless connected and starts printing.
At 'Component Services' / 'Event Properties' shows...

Re: C4599, wireless Error-Printing, unable to 'communicate' with the device ???
Sure we can set a static IP (actually we are going to reserve an IP address - even better).  But first, please mark the post that helped you solve the problem as "Accepted Solution".
Connect to the wireless router by typing the IP address of the wireless router in the address field of your browser, then click Enter. 192.168.1.1 is the default IP address of the wireless router. The wireless router will prompt you to enter the user name of 'admin' and the password. The default password is 'password'.
See the procedure on page 8-16 of this < http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/forums/replypage/board-id/Networking/message-id/NetGear%20'RangeMax'%20... > document to reserve and IP address for your printer.
You will need the MAC address of your printer (this is on the Network Config Page you printed from the front panel of the printer).

    Thank you for the followup.
Just got back to this thread after trying what you suggested re new install program.
Months ago, when originally tried to install new C4500, spent weekend, literally 4hrs on a Sat and 4hrs the following Sun with HP support on the phone trying to get C4500 wireless to work.
Finally downloaded a new install program and after installing that and making other numerous setup adjustments, which I cant remember, it worked (the only saving grace for the time spent) for a while.
But for the sake of trying, we did put in the original disk, just like page 4 (or our original paper manual) instructed (per your last post).
The disk loaded and the program did its thing and then get...
"A newer version fo this software is alredy installe on you HP HPPhotosmare C4500 series computer."
    So clicked 'finish'.
    Then loaded...
    PS_AIO_04_C4500_USW_Full_Win_enu_120_210_NB.exe
...which we thougth was the new installer program which we downloaded those months ago (same one you suggested).
    Started the '4 step' process.
Got to 'step 3' and it connected to printer with usb cable.
Along the way got message from 'network diagnostics'...
"The PC and the printer are connected to different networks(192.168.1.0 and 192.168.0.0).  They must be connected to the same network.  This can happen when you use the manufacturer's default network name (SSID) and another nearby network is using the same name.
The gateway address of the printer does not match the network to which the printer is connected. Reconfigure the setting on your printer to match."
Tried changing ip addresses at network settings, but no help.
    Clicked on disregard and proceed.
    Started 'Network diagnostics' and got...
    HPPhotoshopEssential 'install' bar window.
Either way, disk or new install program, get pop-up window with message...
'The feature you are tryong to use is on a CD-ROM or tother removabledisk that inot available. Insert the 'HPPyotosmartEsesential' disk and click OK."
Moved HP .msi and .cab files to same directory with ...NB.exe file.
Install went ahead, and then needed 'setup.exe'.
Opened setup.exe at disk and install went ahead.
Installed latext updated 'HP Solution Center'.
It showed both the C4500usb and wireless, but still wireless not 'connected'.
Ran diagnostics and got same 'diagnostics' message as above.
    Made sure hardware enabled etc.
    How to fix ?
Thanks again for your help !

  • C4599 Wireless Disappears

I have a new HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 and a new HP C4599 printer. Every few days the wireless printer version of this device seems to disappear. The USB version stays intact. I am NOT connected via USB, but am relying on the wireless connection to be able to print to thsi device. I was suspicious that McAfee might be wiping it, but I can't find any evidence of that happening. Any ideas???

Yup, good clue that this is not happening to other computers.  That means that it is connected with the router OK.

  • C4780 wireless issues

Alright ive been reading and researching and cant seem to find the answer. I have a c4780 all in one that is having issues staying connected to my wireless network.  I had the same issue with my previous printer the hp c4599 and was replaced with this one.  It prints fine over wireless when the printer is first turned on.  But stops responding after a few hours after going to sleep.  Any ideas? As this is getting quite annoying  having to keep turning on and off all the time.  Now the printer is connected to my desktop using usb and my laptop wireless.  Works great and no issue with desktop.  Also both machines are running vista home premium 64 bit.  ive tried everything i can think of and suggestions for other similar printers to no avail.  Before there supposedly was a firmware upgrade for my old c4599 printer but couldnt get it to install so hp just replaced it. Here we are again with same problem but no firmware for this model.  Sorry for the rant but this is wearing me thin trying to get this to work right. Thanks

It appears you're running on the best channel possible.   There are only three non-overlapping channels (1, 6, 11) and it's better to share a channel than try to fit in between 1, 6 and 11.  Your neighbors on channel 6 and 11 are being interfered by a relatively high power jammer from mbonet on channel 8 and you're lucky that the 2WIRE771 jammer is pretty weak.
Does the problem occur after the laptop is turned off or if the laptop goes to sleep?
Can you access the printer's internal web page by browsing to it's IP address when you have trouble printing?

  • C4599 HP Printer printing problem

I wanted to print a 40 pages manual but when i pressed the print button, the printer started printing from the last page(40) to the first page(1). When I looked at the printer's properties in the word document, my "Layout Options" for "Page Order" is "Front to back". Thus, I don't understand why this is happening? Could anyone guide me on how to rectify this problem. Thank you..
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It's not really a problem, but that is how it is. When it starts printing the 40th page, and ends with the 1st page, then at the end of the print job, you'll have the first page at the top and the last page at the bottom of the stack. If it printed the first page first, then you'd have to start re-arranging it. The printer does this for your convenience.

  • Photosmart C4599 w. iMac OS 10.6.8 won't print. Error message "pipe broken" gone; still wont print

Printer would not print. The error message: "Pipe broken. printer cartridges can't move, Open door and release cartridges."  However, when I opened the door they moved to the left and out of sight; I didn't see a broken pipe. When I closed the door, they moved back to the right.  Did this several times, installed a new black cartridge because mine was low, got a message to align printer, which I did.  Printer printed the alignment sheet, which I then scanned in and learned alignment was OK.  Printer still did not print although error message had disappeared. Then I followed all of the steps in HP's troubleshooting support (all of which I'd done on my own before) Got a message Printer Ready, but printer still doesn't print.  I tried some other files too, in case that one was corrupted in some way.
I just tried again - with a new file.No success.  New error message: Unable to connect with printer; will try in 30 seconds.  All lights on the printer are fine, including the wireless light.
    Can someone help?  Many thanks.

  • My C4599 only prints a third of a page now. How do I get it back to normal?

I reloaded drivers, rebooted computer. Turned off printer then back on. But nothing works to get it back to normal. It looks like it needs some kind of hardware reset. My friend at the HP printer group said that there is no such feature on this printer. Someone please tell me how I can get this printer to work like normal.

Hi - did you manage to fix this problem? I'm having the same issue - very anoying!!!

  • C4599 Install problem Cannot print alignment page, carriage jam message, says to remove cardboard

Just set up the printer but it will not print the alignment page because of a "carriage jam".  It says to remove the cardboard but there is no cardboard in the printer.  What should I do?

ok, when I thought the problem was resolved, it was temporary. The problem is back. I have searched the forums multiple times and can find no other problems or discussions similar to mine. I even went so far as to reload my machine from scratch. I have the exact same problem. I can reproduce it by creating a new blank project and adding a single empty report definition to the project. If I then try to go into the Page Setup dialog, i get the following error
    Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer
    Out of memory.
    OK
The dialog then appears but is empty. If I go to the preview of the report and select the Print Report button, VS2008 gets the following error
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: ...(x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    OK
I get the same out of memory error in the standalone designer. I have DEP turned off at the BIOS level as well as via the following bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff
I then went to my home machine which has VS2008 and Vista64 and installed Crystal12 and SP1 and had the exact same issue. Also when I run my app in debug mode from VS I cannot assign a printer to the report. It gives an exc eption that says that is an invalid printer. If I exit VS and run the same exe, I can assign a printer and run the report.
While I am developing with Vista64, I am targetting x86 machines, not 64bit machines. Am I really the only one with this problem on 2 boxes I tried it on? Is there any help?
I am creating a standard VB forms app nothing web related.

  • Can't print from IE 8 64 bit version only

I am running windows 7, 64 home premium.  I have a HP c4599 all in one printer.  I installed all the latest drivers/software from the HP site.
I have no problems printing from any application such as word, excel, opera, etc.  I can even print from IE 8, the 32 bit version.  However, if I attempt to print from IE8, the 64 bit version, when I select print and then printer and then hit print nothing happens.  I don't get any error messages or anything.  Nothing gets put in the queue.
Does anyone know what the issue is?  Can you not print from IE 8 64 bit?  It is strange that I have no issues printing from any other program.
    Thanks!

Had the same problem but fixed by using other designated printer as default but printing to the same printer.
Could print a test page from new 8500 wireless printer and docs from Excel, Word etc but nothing from IE8 using the print drivers for Windows 7-64bit....decided to use old Officejet 7680 printer and it worked for all situations including IE8......compared both  printer test pages and discovered the environment for the 8500 which didn't work was windows NT x86 and the environment for the 7680 that worked was windows x64.......interestingly the driver names were the same, the config file was the same and the help file was the same, etc  but the data file was different too. The data file for th 8500 was hpw185g3.gpd and the data file for the 7680 was hp7600t.gpd. In other words, I select a 7680 printer software to print to the 8500 hardware.
Recommend you add a 7600 printer choice (or some other hp model) and compare printer test pages printed from the same printer .....hope it works.
