Hp c5380

I am having problems with my C5380.
I refilled my cartilages for my printer while i was doing that I put my other cartilages in the printer and was using them fine.  When I put the originals back in none of my colours would work only black would work,  I then replaced the other ones and it didnt work. I have cleaned the heads and cartilages, went out and bought new cartilages for the printer with no change.  the prints come out with lines on the coloured parts. I have done everything that the solutions page has told me to do.
I have cleaned print heads through software and tried to align the heads which fails have tried to align them a few times with the same result. I have also cleaned the print head with proper head cleaner.
Please help me, as I need my printer.

For your error the troubleshooting page here may help.

  • C5380 - I want to print using ONLY black ink cartridge. Is this possible?

    Hi Folks,
I now understand that this model, HP C5380 and I'm guessing many others too, are programed to use an amount of colour ink even when selected to print in Black.
My question is:  Can I somehow program the printer to 'only print using the black ink cartridge' and not use the colour cartridges at all?
I have heard that this is possible with some models but need the specifics.
I am even willing to permanently disable the colour function if needed. The replacement ink catridges are so very expensive, if I'm unable to do this then I'll be looking for another printer and it won't be HP.  Thi is unfortunate because I think they make a good quality product - however they need to be on notice that their customers 'good will' and return business will not be forthcoming when they (and other compaines) continue to use money making strategies like this.
Many Thanks in advance for your time, B

  • HP Photosmart C5380 not printing colors as it should

I'm having a problem with printing. Up until the other day I was printing ok, but suddenly when I went to print instead of printing red, a yellowish orange color was printing, and purple was printing a very light blue. I cleaned the printhead, which resulted in red printing in yellow. I used the clean printhead option on the printer settings, colors are printing mostly ok. Just some lines are more faded than others. The colors that print with this are orange, green, purpule, yellow, pink and blue. I also tried to print in grayscale, which ended up printing in green. Any ideas of how to fix this problem??? Thanks

  • Wrong advertised C5380 printer cartridge

Have finally got round to setting up my C5380 HP Photosmart All-in-One Printer, and had to go out and buy cartridges, purchased the 564s which list my printer on the side, to find they are too big to fit in the printer cradle!! Which are the ones that will be the right size when I go back to exchange?

Go to HP Sure Supply to see which are compatible or see the image below.

    Hi there,
You can try searching the part number here to find available matches. If the part you are looking for is not available you may want to check 3rd party retailers or parts dealers.

  • WON`T PRINT BLACK ON HP C5380

From one page to the next and all of a sudden, my c5380 stopped printing black. I went through all the appropriate steps outlined in the HP message forum: I cleaned, I realigned, I installed a new black cartridge.
None of these steps helped. The newly installed ("installation succesful") black cartridge is not printing; or if it is, there is no sign whatsoever of this occuring on the paper...
Let me add that the c5380 is about 5 or 6 years old. I use it sparingly, but regularly, especially to print text, i.e. black. The weird bit is that it stopped printing so suddenly; which leads me to suspect a technical (setting) problem, rather than a mechanical (ink flow) problem - especially as I`ve checked all those options - to no avail.
I understand that this has been a recurring problem with HP printers over the years, so maybe, just maybe one of you more technologically inclined people out there knows a simple solution I haven`t come up with?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hey there @donkey_shot
    Welcome to the forums
I have seen your posts about the black ink not printing out with your Photosmart C5380 any longer. I know you have tried some troubleshooting however, I have some of my own personal suggestions that might help. It could be worth a shot right?
Here is the first guide, check out the steps and try anything you haven't yet tried:

Next, is a detailed post from @Bob_Headrick about "soaking the printhead". If you decide to do this, I just stress to read his instructions carefully before trying to soak the printhead.

  • Photosmart C5380 CD/DVD print function not available

    Hello,
I've installed Photosmart C5380 under Windows XP using the latest driver downloaded from HP site. Opening HP Solution Center after installation, I've seen the CD/DVD print button is missing. Why?

    Hello!
I really wish I could see what you see.  I have never actually seen this function (in Solution Center) you are talking about so help me to understand something please:
The button was there at one point and after uninstall/reinstall it is no longer there?
Or, is it that the button is there but grayed out/unavailable?
Or was it visible on a different computer - if so what was the OS of that computer?
Have you ever successfully printed on a CD/DVD with this printer?
Just answer which one best describes the scenerio in which you are experiencing please.
Go to your Start Button>>All Programs>>HP>>C5380 series software, and please tell me what is listed in this folder so I can know for certain you are missing the software.
    Thanks!
    Cass

  • HP C5380 DVD/CD Printing Feature Not Compatible With Mac

I purchased this all-in-one specifically for the feature of printing direct to cd/dvds. Other functions work fine but this will not. After contacting HP Support I am informed that this feature is not compatible with Mac. Surely this is false advertising as nowhere on the packaging can I find any reference to this. Under specifications it shows that system requirements were Mac OSX 10.5.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? I have searched mac support but can find no reference to this. Interested to hear other viewpoints and experiences.

    Hello,
I would try printing directly on CD/DVD from the application HP Photosmart Studio.. Follow the steps below:
    1. Open HP Photosmart Studio
    2. Select an image from the Photosmart Studio library/browser
    3. Choose "Create" in the toolbar
    4. In the menu on the left, choose the following settings:
    - Project: CD/DVD Label
    - Label Type: CD/DVD (5 inch/120 mm)
    5. Move the image from the media bar to the label, resize it if necessary
    6. Click "Print" on the toolbar
    Regards,
    Vicarious

  • My Photosmart C5380 printer green instead of black

Occationally my printer is printing green instead of black.
Sometimes it is from the beginning of a document and sometimes it is the middle of a document.
I have tried to change the cartridge but have the same result.

    Hi @tobby37 ,
I'd like to help you with this issue, the black is printing in green sometimes. You have changed the cartridge and are having the same results.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Try these steps to see if it will resolve the issue.
'Ink cartridge problem' Message Displays on the Printer.
    Please disregard the title.
Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
    What are the ink levels?
Please let me know if you require any additional assistance.
    Have a fantastic day!
