Sorry I missed that in the original post, that you are using Genuine HP cartridges. I'm bad!
I have provided this document to manually clean the contacts on the cartridge to see if that will help. Please disregard the title.
'Ink Cartridge is Missing, Incorrectly Installed, or Not Intended for Your Device' Error Message is ...
I would also check the ink levels for the black cartridge, if it is low that might be why it is printing in color instead of black.
If the issue continues, please call our technical support at 800-474-6836 and inquire about a replacement cyan cartridge. Check the date, just to make sure it is in warranty. Let them know you are calling in about a in warranty cartridge. If the problem persists, it could be a hardware issue with the printer.     Printer not printing in black at all, poor color print since 7/22/15. I have downloaded drivers and software, hard reset the printer (power cord out and unplugged then plugged all back in), read all the forums, watched youtube videos, called friends, googled answers, bought new ink (waste of money), cleaned print head multiple times, did every step on every forum post to no avail...  Bought a new printer but really would rather return it and get my money back after getting this printer up and running again- why because I think the problem is due to HP and the new update released 7/22/15! I'm very upset, I have spent countless hours attempting to fix this printer (which I really do love up until now).  I have lost credit on school assignments due to printing issues, wasted money on ink (that is really expensive) and wasted the ink trying to fix it running test page after test page.  I feel like this is not fair to the consumer and I am very upset.  I am ready to throw this thing in the street and smash it to pieces with a baseball bat at this point.  I really would rather fix it but apparently this is the only way to contact someone.  I have had this printer for 3 years and do not think I need to replace it or spend money to call someone from HP to fix it nor do I feel like I need to have it "serviced", nor do I wish to waste any futher time or money on the expensive ink this printer requires.

  • C6280 All in one not printing

    Installed new HP cyan cartridge and when trying to print from MS word I get a message cyan need to be replaced soon, would you like to print in black only.  It's a new HP cartridge.  It's full.  I need to print in color.  How do I fix this please?

    I noticed that you're experiencing issues when printing to your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printer. I understand that the trouble started when you got a new computer. I would like to look into this for you today. We're looking at the possiblity that the new computer is interfering with the printer's IP Address on the Network. Let's see, if we can identify the cause. I see that you mentioned in your post, Wireless and Wired connection. How is the printer connected? (Ethernet/Wireless) Here's a document I would recommend that you try, An 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Displays for the HP Officejet Pro 251dw, 276dw, and 8600 Printer Series.
    Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor to help identify and fix common problems when installing or using HP s on your home network. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages). Note:  You might need to follow this guide for both of the computers. I recommend following it to the end, and then try printing from both machines.

    I have recently bought the pavillon g7 but can't find the hp icon I used to use for scanning. Could you please tell me where to find it; then how I should proceed. (I installed "scan/capture" but couldn't do anything with that either!) Thanks for any help.

    Interesting to know that normal file extraction did not work. Try these steps:
     Please download the program known as "WinRar" from this website: WinRAR.com
    Open the WinRAR program and click on the arrow on the upper right side to choose your file destination
    Choose your Full Feature Software and Driver you downloaded previously.
    Select the Extract Icon at the top and you will see the following window open. Choose the folder you created on the desktop and click OK.
    Once this extraction has completed, we can open the folder on the desktop and run the Setup.exe file.

  • Hp6520 all in one photosmart

    pposed to be the top tech still am unable to use my printer to m y hp6520 all in one photosmart printer to either send nor recieve my e-mail no matter what I do it still does not work and the local office depot refuses to help me out I purchadsed this printer from the store located here in Orlando florida craig is the supposed to be  the head tech. at this store but they  had turned his back on my wife and I like my self have purchased many items from this store of which we believed in his honesty but no more so we all agree that we need to change to staples we have contacted them and they are very much in in our business not like office depot which their number is [mod edited on 8-12-14]
    and they are only a couple of blocks away staples the manager was surprised at the way we have been treated by office depot here in Orlando we like and appericsate hp equipment printers and
    computers and all.

    What is the issue you are experiencing?
    How is the printer connected (USB cable, or wireless)?
    What operating system are you using on your computer? whatsmyos.com
    Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what does the error message say and where is it displayed (computer or printer)?
    Do you have any Firewall or Anti-virus software installed on your computer?
    Is the printer plugged into a wall outlet?
    Are you able to make a copy using the front panel of the printer?

  • How do I get my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One to scan?

    I have updated to Mac OS 10.9 the driver for my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One, but the scanner function no longer works.  The Apple update list shows the update was performed on October 30.
    The printer does not show up in the list of printers as a "Bonjour"  printer, as the instructions from HP's website indicate it should.

    I understand you're having issues printing/scanning with your Photosmart C6280 since upgrading the 10.9 on your Mac. I would like to help you with this as best I can.
    The reason your having issues is because the HP software you're using is not designed for the 10.9 operating system. The last full software package HP released for the Photosmart C6280 was for 10.6, so the best option at this point would be to use the in operating system drivers.
    To get everything to work properly again, I'm going to link you to how to completely remove the HP software so you can use the Apple software as Sunshyn2005 has described in her post. Once you follow those steps to begin using the Apple software you may not know how to scan using the Apple software and you can learn 3 different ways to do so.

    I have a photosmart C6280 all in one printer.  I purchased a HP Envy TS m6 sleekbook with Windows 8.1 OS.  Can I use my printer with this computer and what do I have to do to get it set up (ie drivers, software etc)  I need good detailed information and how to as I am not very well versed or anykind of a techy.  Thank you in advance

    Went through setup on Windows 7 64-bit, printed the test photo, came out great.  Thought everything was good to go.  Later, when trying to print a document, it wouldn't print.  Computer popped up a message saying "Successfully printed" but when I went to the printer, there was nothing there.  I tried running a wireless network test on the printer's screen, and once that page printed with the results, immediately after that, the document I was trying to get finally printed.  This was an early Christmas gift for my parents, & my mom just informed me that she tried to print again today, but nothing happened on the printer.  I am out of town now and am not able to troubleshoot on my own on the printer like I did a couple days ago so came here for advice.. Any idea what the issue might be? Did I maybe miss a step after doing the test print of the photo?  Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Try the below steps ..
    While the printer is ON, Unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
    Disconnect all the cables that are connected to the printer.
    Wait for 30 seconds.
    Plug in only the Power Cord. ( Printer would Power on ).
    Try making a standalone Color copy of a document . If it fails to print a copy, then it could either be an issue with the Ink cartridges  or the Printer .

  • Re-install software for the C6280 all in one printer... get an error message "can't find file"

    need to re-install the software for the c6280 all in one printer. downloaded the latest install package from the HP web site. During the install process, I get an error message .. can't find  user/appdata/local/temp/7z256315/setup/.....setup/blocksysuser........
    the folder 7z256315 does not exist on the HD.
    I also get a message that it can't find PS_A10_02_software.msi.
    Windows 7 , C6280 all in one printer. Printer is connected to the router. The desktop computer is connected via an ethernet cable, the laptop/ipad/iphone/internet radio are connected via wireless to the router.

    Follow the steps below, and let me know what happens?
    Step one: Clear temp directory
    Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
    Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete. If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this file(s).
    Continue with Step 2 below
    Step two: Downloaded and extracted to your system:
    1. Download the full feature software and drivers

    2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.
    3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
    4. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
    5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy
    7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.
    8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
    9. Open folder Util
    10. Open folder CCC
    11. Run the uninstall_L4
    12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    13. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
    14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

     15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.

    How do I get the photo tray option to come up in iphoto from my mac notebook when I have an HP C6280 all-in-one printer

    I have an HP all-in-one C5140.  When I print from iPhoto the dialog that comes up has a "Presets" drop down at the bottom.  One of the choices is "Print from Photo Tray."  Is that there on yours?  If not make sure you have the latest software from HP.

    Printing via Bluetooth from an iPad is not possible due to iOS limitations, as Apple did not include the Bluetooth printing protocol in the iOS.
    If your printer is HP Photosmart C7200, you may use the HP ePrint Home & Biz App to print from your iPad through your home network
    However for the Officejet 7200 your only option is to look for any available 3rd party printing solution from the App Store.

    You cant print to a printer that you physicly turned off. Most network printer have a sleep mode, so leave it on and after a while it should go into a sleepmode. And should wake up when a printjob is being sent.

    If the printer is not AirPrint compatible but is wi-fi capable, you will need to get one of the many wi-fi printing apps available at the app store. HP has an app. Some of the wi-fi printing apps have more capabilities than others.
