    Does anyone know if faxes can be received digitally or stored on the machine and manually printed, rather than being received and printed out automatically? When a fax is received, say overnight when the office is unattended and a paper copy is sitting there waiting for collection, if the document contains sensitive or confidential information, it compromises the privacy and security of the parties involved.Having the machine store these for secure printing or having them received in some other secure manner would be beneficial.

    Hi Everyone,
    I have an HP M775 that must only just be out of warranty, the problem I have is about a week ago the display just went dead, I am only able to print to this device all other functions are unavailable due to non-operational touch screen.
    This issue has happened once before but was resolved after a power cycle, this time nothing helps.
    I am reluctant to admit that the display is faulty I feel that due to its current behaviour that it seems to be in some sort of standalone limp mode.
    The current operational characteristics are instant power off if button is pushed, almost instant boot up if power is turned on (able to print to device within a minute)
    The device is still accessible over LAN and I can access the web based page via IP Address.
    Any suggestions on how to maybe reset this device manually keeping in mind there is no screen available what so ever.

  • LaserJet 100 Color MFP M175nw printing problem

    When I print a page, there is a distinct area on the printed page that looks like a plastic clip or some other object is blocking the toner from transferring to the paper. It does it in both black and color.  I want to know whether it is likely to beinside  the toner cartridge or some other problem before I replace the cartridge. It is fairly consistent in location on the page.   I printed a  blank page with cover open and the image was all black except for the object that looks like a plastic clip. It is U shaped and approximately 1 inch long on each side. It looks like a large plastic staple.  The platen is clean and nothing on the glass.

    I understand you are getting a mark on the page and it is consistent.
    I will be happy to help you.
    It could be a hardware issue with the printer or one of the toners.
    I would remove each toner and inspect them for any obstructions.
    Could it be possible that a paper clip fell inside the printer? Try and gently shake the printer but be careful to see if anything falls out.
    Run a cleaning page through to see if that clears any obstructions.

    Ok.
    I would recommend to call HP Tech Support to inquire about  a replacement printer if it is still
    in warranty or find out about the trade in and trade up program.

  • Laserjet 200 color mfp m276nw print black not grayscale

    I'm told the printer will print even black-and-white documents using "grayscale," which I'm told means it is using the color cartridges even to print black and white documents.  Is there some way I can change this so that it prints black and white documents with only the black ink cartridge?  I'm using Mac.

    I understand you would like to print black only. I found a document that will help guide you through the steps to set your print settings. This document says it is for 10.3 an d10.4, but the instructions will apply to the newer Mac versions as well. Mac OS X: Printing with the Black Print Cartridge Only Option.

    Printing OK but Network access NOI have a M575 in office LAN.IP 169.254.204.142Subnet 255.255.255.000Router 169.254.204.1Other computers 169.254.204.2-100Everything was good. But couple days ago I was not able to connect to my HP from browser. I was check settings and: IP address on screen HP - 0.0.0.0 I can printing on my HP!!!     I am having the above mentioned printer. The problem with this printer is every time when I switch-on the printer its driver has to be installed then only I can start printing. The following is my PC configuration:
    MB: ConRoe865GV chipset, CPU: PIV, OS: XP-SP3.
    Could you tell me what can the problem.
    Also if by mistake the paper in the paper-tray gets finished the printer takes quite a long time to detect that new paper bunch is there in printer. Is there a way to minimise this paper checking process.

    I see that you are experiencing a issue with the printer installing every time you turn it on, then you are able to print again. Also when the paper runs out, it takes a long time to detect the paper in the tray again. I would like to help you out today.
    The printer has a Smart Install built into the firmware. Disable the Smart Install Feature to see if that will resolve the issue of the computer detecting the printer every time it is turned on.
    Go to Setup, Service Menu, Smart Install and turn it off please.
    If you are not able to print after turning the printer back on again, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
    For the paper not being detected right away, make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and try to keep the tray filled at all times, but not over filled.
    What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
    What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.

  • Hp laserjet 100 color mfp m175a suddenly very slow

    I have a HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a printer, which has always worked fine (except when in cool down mode). Suddenly, it has started printing extremely slowly - for example, last night I sent a document of 20 pages to print at around 9pm and was still waiting for it to finish at midnight!
    Nothing has been changed in the settings.

    Have you tried another USB cable? Just to rule that out.
    Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
    On the printer select the Setup button, Reports, Config Report.
    Does that print slow or fast?
    If you are having this issue printing the hardware self test also, update the printer's firmware.
    Software & Drivers. Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.
    If you are just having the issue printing from the computer, uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

  • LaserJet 500 color MFP M575 ePrint

    I have enable ePrint on my new HP LaserJet 500 color MFP M575 when I first got it. A lot of changes to the configuration has now been done and ePrint does not work anymore.
    I tried to reset it, disabling and re-enabling HP Web Services on the embedded web server, but the tab for "HP Web Services" does not ever come back even after a reboot. I also disabled the Web Services, rebooted and re-enable them and rebooted again, that also did not bring back the "HP Web Services" tab.
    Because the tab never comes back I can't get the new code for the printer.
    I have the only firmware available for that printer, the one dated the 12th of April 2012.
    I really don't know what to do now.

    It sounds like you may need to preform a semi-full reset on the printer.  I cannot give you instructions on how to do this over the forums, instead you will need to contact tech support directly.  You can find the number here.

  • Manual duplex printing doesn't work for LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a

    OS Windows 8.1. Printer LaserJet 100 color MFP M175a. Driver version 61.108.8.10073 date 2011 Apr 13th
    1. After switching on checkbox "Print on Both Sides (Manually)" on "Finishing" tab of Print Properties Dialog and
    start printing, dialog with instruction how to turn paper appears. Then printer must print odd pages, stop for
    turning paper and then continue printing of even pages on the back side of paper sheets. But my device prints
    all pages sequentually in order 1,2,3,... without any breaks. What is it- my mistake or possible bug in driver ?
    2. Windows API function DeviceCapabilities with fwCapability=DC_DUPLEX for this printer returns 0 (duplex printing
    impossible). This value for any other HP printer, even without automatic duplexer, always equel to 1.

    I see by your post that you are having issues manually printing two-sided. I can help you with this.
    The software for this model on Windows 8.1 is the Basic Solution Software and Driver. This basic software solution provides print and scan functionality only. Did you download and install the newest drivers?
    HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw Drivers.
    Check to make sure Bidirectional Support is Enabled.
    Go to the start up screen, (tiles menu) type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers, right click on the printer, left click Printer Properties, on the Ports tab, put a check beside Enable Bidirectional Support.
    You might have to restart the computer.

  • HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw Problems in OS 10.9.4

    I'm using a 2013 MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 9 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  I connect via wifi to the referenced printer (for almost a year now).  Since updating to OS 10.9.4 I am able to print only one document at a time.  Attempting to print a second document generates the message "Printer is not connected."  If I turn the printer off and back on again, I'm able to print one document.  Then the same thing occurs again.  I have done the following so far, all to no avail:
    Downloaded and installed latest driver (specifically for Mavericks) from HP
    Checked for Apple software updates and found none
    Reset the printing system (per instructions elsewhere in these forums)
    I updated to OS 10.9.4 on July 5th and that is when this problem started.  Where do I go from here???

    And BTW, here's a repost of what I posted on July 7th:
    I'm running a 2013 Macbook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, OS version 10.9.4 (updated to this OS version 5 days ago, on July 2nd).  For a little less than a year I've been printing to a HP LaserJet 400 Color MFP M475dw via wireless connection.  A few weeks ago I began to have numerous "printer is not connected" events, and it reached the point I could not print anything - from my MacBook, my iPad Air, or my iPhone 5S.  I discovered there was an updated printer driver on HP's website, specifically for OS 10.9.  Downloaded and installed it, and the problem was seemingly solved.
    Then I updated the OS to 10.9.4.  AARRRRGH!!!!!!  For the last 5 days, the printer will - sometimes - print the first document in a queue of 2 or more and then, while the printer is still "running," tell me the printer is not connected.  I turn the printer off and back on, get one print job, then have to repeat the process.  Here are all the things I've tried to resolve the issue:
    Verified settings on the printer to make sure everything is set up properly
    Restarted Airport Extreme, printer, and MacBook (multiple times) -- clarification:  I turned off both the MacBook and the printer, then unplugged Airport for a few minutes, replugged it, restarted the printer, then restarted the MacBook
    Reset the printing system (as suggested elsewhere in the Support forums), which basically removes all printers from the MacBook, then lets you add back those that you want - presumably with the most current driver(s).
    Searched help/support forums on Apple, HP, and the internet in general
    Found a firmware update for the printer on HP's website -- but it is not compatible with OS 10.9 (only goes up through 10.8).  I downloaded it and tried, even though 10.9 was not listed, and the "app" wouldn't even open.
    All of these efforts have been to no avail.  The problem persists, and I'm at my wit's end how to solve it.  HELP, please..........anyone??????
