HP client security preventing connection to cell phone hotspot

VERY unfortunately, I got sick of this always asking me for stuff, so I finally setup the HP Client Security.  I am EXTREMELY upset that now I can't access my personal hotspot on my cell phone that I need on a daily basis for my business!  Startup is also EXTREMELY SLOW!
Should I disable or uninstall it?
Thank you.

There is not enough info to know what phone is doing the hotspot and did you contact your cell phone provider in how to setup the hotspot??

  • Can I connect my cell phone to my iPad?

I want to connect my cell phone to my iMac through bluetooth in order to transfer the photos I took on the phone to my iPad. Is this possible? I've established a connection through bluetooth but I can't do anything with it. If this isn't possible on the iPad is it doable on the iMac? I'm using an aqueous/sharp handset.
    Cheers

I was able to link my phone to my iMac through the blue tooth setting and get all the files I wanted out. For me it was just as good. Amazing what we can do now. To think, when I was in high school cassette tape was The Thing. (lol)
Eight track! I even had a four track in my Nova before the eight track came out.

    Hi Nach71,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
The following Wi-Fi base station settings are recommended to ensure maximum performance, security, and reliability when using Wi-Fi.

  • 7290 Won't connect for cell phone service

I just bought a new unlocked Blackberry 7290.  I have put two different working SIM cars into the unit and I cannot connect to my AT&T cell network to make calls.  First it says searching for service and then it says no service.  Do I have a defective unit?

    Go-to Options-Network
There is field: Network selection mode.
Turn it to manual. And select available network manually.

  • HT204023 Why cant my ipad auto-connect to my phone hotspot?

Why cant my ipad auto-connect to my hotspot? Whenever I turn my HS on I always have to go into my wifi settings on my ipad and manually connect. Its kind of a  pain to always have to do this.

That seems to be a hot topic question which no one seems to have an answer to, including Apple. I too have this problem. I just signed up for hotspot this past weekend and am already regretting it and thinking about cancelling it. Not worth the hassle. One can only hope Apple with actually listen to it's users and fix the problem with a future update. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
It SHOULD reconnect automatically after the initial set-up, just like the wifi.
Not a very smart smartphone if you ask me.

  • Socket connection to a cell phone by using emulator

    Hi,
I have been studying on the client-server communication between my cell phone and the emulator.
I want to connect to my cell phone from emulator.
For this reason, I can get my cell phone ip with getLocalAddress() method by using an instance of ServerSocketConnection.
However, my cell phone ip changes constantly(once per second). Because I can't get the true ip of my cell phone at that time, I can't connect to my cell phone from emulator.
Is there anyone who knows what I must do?
    Thanks in advance.

How doesn't a cell phone have an IP?
Each cell phone has an IP.
This IP is generally assigned as private by some operators Whereas, some operators assign a public IP to cell phones.
I learned that my operator assigns public IP to cell phones and I wanna try to connect to my cell phone by giving IP address of it.
I can read the IP of my cell phone dynamically. But, my problem is that my cell phone IP changes constantly.
What should I do to make the ip address of cell phone static?
    Thanks.

  • Connecting iBook to Verizon EVDO with a Cell Phone

Verizon allows access to their EVDO network through four cell phones models with a USB cable connecting the cell phone and a notebook computer. Has anyone done this with an iBook? If so, can you tell me how to do it? Any information would be appreciated.
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Yes, all have Bluetooth. The 4 phones are:
    LG VX8100
    LG VX9800
    Motorola RAZR V3c
    Motorola 813
Verizon just recently allowed access to their EVDO system using these phones. (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1918150,00.asp)
I can use Bluetooth or a data cable from RPI Wireless (http://www.rpiwireless.com) or the data cable in the Verizon V Cast kit. The big problem is no one I can reach at Verizon or Apple, either at a store or over the phone, knows anything about this. I'm trying to find out how to make the connection to the EVDO system once the phone to iBook connection has been established. I would think this knowledge would be valuable to Apple since neither the iBook G4 nor the 12 inch Powerbook G4 have PCMCIA slots. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

  • Client Server Bluetooth Connection

Our Target is to connect a client (J2ME) running on a cell phone to the server (J2SE) running on the PC via Bluetooth. We are working on our project and this is a bottleneck problem we are facing. We are also beginners and we would like to know steps to set the environment and we need an implementation to connect the mobile and PC.
We previously tried to connect two J2ME programs together via bliuetooth but we failed, we are a bit confused and reached a dead end.

  • X230 bluetooth does not work - unable to use cell phone as personal hotspot

I am trying to use the bluetooth in my X230 to pair my laptop with my cell phone. I want to be able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot, in case I am in an area with no secure wi-fi. I would have thought that this would be standard feature in a laptop that is touted as a business device, but apparently this is not the case.
I installed both the bluetooth driver and the latest system update, as suggested by Sarbin...
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT073834
    and
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS012808
... but it is still not working for me. I am now able to connect my cell phone to my X230, but instead of enabling me to access the internet via bluetooth, a dialogue box appears enabling me to play songs that are on my cell phone using the laptop speakers.
I am disappointed that the bluetooth driver did not come pre-installed on the x230, and I am disappointed that I am not able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot for my x230.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is a key step missing from the prior post, but is shown on the link.
After the steps described in the prior post (e.g., disabling all services on the Bluetooth device except NAP), go to <Control Panel<, <Devices and Printers>, right click on the Bluetooth device (e.g., iPhone) that you want to connect to for your internet hotspot access point, and then click on <Connect Using> and then <Access Point>.
Using this method, the Lenovo's Access Connections program does NOT control this internet connection, thus the icon in the system tray will show NO connection in the Lenovo wireless access icon (even though the computer is connected via the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone).
Disconnecting requires going back into Control Panel and disconnecting from the Access Point.
Kinda clunky in my opinion, but I could never get a connection to the internet via a Bluetooth/iPhone Hotspot combination using the Lenovo Access Connections software despite claims in that software's help section saying that such a connection was possible.  (The Lenovo Access Connections Help section even gives instructions to use tabs that don't exist in the software.)

  • Really Weird - Cell Phone Message on iPod

Today I was listening to a song on my iPod, and right before the song ended, it cut to a computer voice saying something like "One new message. First new message" and then played a message someone left me on my cell phone. I heard this on Sunday, and the message was from Wednesday. My cell phone was broken on Wednesday. I've never connected my cell phone to my computer, so I don't know how that could have gotten transferred onto my iPod. Could Apple be building in cell phone capabilities to the iPod without telling us????? If anyone could tell me how this could have happened, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can't connect Samsung WIFI cell phone to Tmobile using Airport time capsule

I am using Tmobile for cell phone service and Comcast for high speed internet. I am unable to mske a WIFI cell phone connection. I get Tmobile ISP errors. Talked with Tech support from Apple, Tmobile and Comcast.
Took the phone and the time capsule to the local Bridgeport apple store. They managed to get the connection up and running with my router. My phone also worked with their store network. We had to open UDP ports 500 and 4500 both ways and also IP protocols 50 and 51 both ways on the time capsule to make it work.
With the same settings, it does not work at home using Comcast.
    Help is appreciated.

I still can't use it the way I was hoping because it then becomes a T/M back-up disk and not a normal usb/firewire disc.
You are first mounting the drive on the desktop, correct?
Not sure what you mean here.
You can drag/drop files normally or copy/paste files to the drive icon on the desktop, just as you would a normal drive that is displayed on the desktop.
Or, double click the drive icon on the desktop and drag/drop files into the open window there.
Tell us the steps that you are using to mount the drive on the desktop. What happens after each step?

  • Connecting laptop to internet via cell phone

I heard i can use my cell phone to connect my laptop to the internet, i currently have a lg envy touch , with a 25 megabyte plan which would not be enough as I am wanting to get rid of current dsl plan and wanting to use my wireless plan as my only paid source of internet connection in my home.
I can upgrade plan to unlimited for 29.99 per month which is what i currently pay for my home dsl.  I was told by verizon rep i could use a smartphone ( droid/ droid incredible) to set up a wireless connection in which i could also use my ipod and nintendo dsi to connect to internet as well at the same time as the laptop.
So my thinking is i add another line to my 2100 minute family plan for additional monthly cost of 9.99 get the droid for 199.99 with the unlimited plan of 29.99 bringing my total monthly bill to 170.00 minus taxes. I currently only use about 900-1000 minutes but the savings of dropping minutes just doesnt seem worth it to me as I have children on my plan and their minutes will increase at some point and I would rather be locked in to a plan that gives me more than needed.
So I am wondering if others on this forum could give me their opinion/advise?
Does anyone else use the unlimited 29.99 plan as their only source of internet connection? and how fast/slow etc?
If it matters I will be using the internet connection in Pasadena Texas and mainly we use the internet for general searches on basic info, job searches, facebook,  ipod music, no gaming or anything complicated, just a typical basic internet family use.
    Thank you so much!
    Shannon

In addition to the unlimited $29.99 data plan, you would also need a $29.99 tethering plan, so it would cost you $60 a month - and the connection would not be as good as your DSL.  And we use our DSL to connect to a router and have several laptops and desktops using our DSL, which would not work with a tethered connection.  My advice - skip the tethering and keep the DSL.
