HP Color LaserJet 5525 Fuser trouble shooting

My HP Color LaserJet 5525 has a squeek or squeel at the top of the printer when printing or initializing. Could this be a bad Fuser Unit?

Did you ever reach a conclusion to this problem? We are experiencing the same thing.

  • Color troubles printing to HP Color Laserjet 2600n

    We are a school with a networked environment that includes about 40 Macbook Pros and 60 iMacs. Included in there are several eMacs and PCs. Over the past several weeks, our HP Color LaserJet 2600n printers have begun to exhibit printing where rather than the normal color printing, there appears to be added black toner on the print jobs. The PCs and eMacs are not exhibiting this problem at all, thus I eliminated the fuser possibility. I looked more at a potential driver issue.
    These 2600n printers are shared out to the MBPs and iMacs via Workgroup Manager. They connect to these printers via Bonjour for printing. We do have an 802.11n wifi network with multiple SSIDs but no matter if it is cnonected over SSID or over wired gigabit ethernet, the problem still exists.
    I tried printing via IP address, but the computers would not readily recognize the printers during setup, and when I manually selected the driver, the computers could not connect to the printer.
    So, I am trying to figure out why all of a sudden these print jobs are exihibing severe color issues.

    OK, I think I might have a solution. I have not tested it but I need to do a bit more research. What I have discovered is that it might be a Firmware issue. We found one that is still working fine and it actually has the older firmware numbered 20050610. The ones were are having the issues with are on firmware numbered 20070716.
    I am going to see if I can revert the firmware... if I can find the older firmware!

  • HP Color LaserJet CP6015xh panel displays message "Changing Fuser Temperature"

    My Color LaserJet CP6015xh printer is displaying this message on the display: "CHANGING FUSER TEMPERATURE"
    I can't find this message mentioned anywhere on the Internet, which is strange, because usually any message you see on a printer screen has been mentioned somewhere before.  The printer won't print, and I can't figure out what next step I should take.  I've tried simply powering off and on again, with no change, still keep getting the message over and over again on the display.  Printer is only a few years old and should have a lot of life left on the fuser.

    My HP Color LaserJet 3600dn  Printer have  Fuser error message.  What is the problem ?

    The product you have seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • When i turn my mac on a color screen appears that prevents me from do anything how can i trouble shoot this or fix this?

    I have provided the URL for doing a firmware update on the printer, but do it through a USB connection. Since the printer is in a error state though, it might not detect the printer to do the update. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw.
    Select your operating system, click  Submit, click the link for firmware and then click on the Download button.
    I have provided some steps to try to see if we can resolve this issue.
    Disconnect the USB/Network/FAX and power the printer on Standalone.
    Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner.
    Do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue, if you haven't already.
    Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
    Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
    This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
    If the issue persists, perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.

  • New color laserjet pro mfp m177 will not scan or copy

    Product is new. The problem is that this unit will not scan or copy.  I downloaded the latest drivers, but they would not install completely.  I also ran thru some trouble shooting guides on the HP website, but still it doesn't work.  It tries to make a copy, but it acts like it starts and then stops without completing the function.  It's almost like the scanner mechanism is stuck.  Anyone ever have this problem with a brand new printer?

I'd like to help you with this. Firstly, do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
    In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
    ^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers. If the issue persists, I would suggest download and installing the most recent firmware for your unit. You can download the firmware update utility here:HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Firmware UpdateNote: You will need to connect the printer via USB to update the firmware, as any interruption during the firmware update can cause more issues. If this still does not resolve the issue, please let me know if you are getting some sort of error message on the screen or any blinking lights to indicate what the problem may be. Hope this helps!

  • Issues networking a Color LaserJet 1518in

    I built a home network using a DELL desktop system running XP as the hub with 4 external harddrives, a HP scanner and 2 HP printers connected to the hub.  Everthing shows up on my network and I can access all of the external drives as well as the the printers from the laptops which run Vista home & Vista Business.  While I can "see" the color laserjet 1518in under the printers on my network, I get anything to print, not even a test page.
    I have cycled through the trouble shooting options on windows and I ran HPs "Print & Scan Doctor" on both computers.  At the end of the process I am told that everything should be working.
    The color printer is connected to the desktop through a usb cable; sharing is enabled; both systems show the same  virtual port connection; permissions show allow under security.
    If there is something else I am missing which I must be, I would appreciate knowing what so that I can resolve this issue.

    I was having trouble printing to my HP Color LaserJet 2605dn from a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, so I went to System Prefernces -> Print & Scan deleted it and atempted to re-add it.  When I try add the printer I get this message:
    Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?
    After clicking Download & Install (the only option other than Cancel), I get this:
    Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet 2605dn because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
    What's the workaround when Mountain Lion can't find the driver?

    The 2605dn has dual Network and USB connectivity. Which are you attempting to configure: Network or attached USB?
    Printer on, and if networked, use a static IP address
    Print & Scan
    IP
    Provide printer static IP address
    Select Printer Software ... HP Color LaserJet 2605dn driver (not sure about that 2600 driver)
    Add
    Configure Driver under Options and Supplies
    I have a 1994 HP Laserjet 4m Plus set up using these steps and the appropriate driver. I just added another network printer, using the same IP address, but using the above 2605dn driver without any issue other than complaint about a redundant IP address.
    Hopefully, you have already sorted this out.

  • Can't install Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw

    I'm having trouble installing the drivers for my new Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw AIO printer.  I'm using a Sony Vaio VPCX118LG running Windows 7. I initially successfully installed the software from the disk provided some weeks ago, and had the printer running satisfactorily.  About 3 weeks ago, I attempted unsuccessfully to install Office 2013 on the 32 system, and finally gave up trying and went back to Office 2010.  Since about that time, I've been unable to use either of my M177s (I have two printers in my two offices in different cities; the one in Sydnay is working fine with my HP Pavilion desktop up there, but now won't work with my laptop, as won't the other identical printer in Canberra). I've tried uninstalling the software (using the Uninstall utility on the disk provided with the printer) and reinstalling.  The install process seems to be proceeding normally but at about 99% complete stops with a message about a "Fatal Error".  When monitoring the process using the Windows dialogue, the failure appears to coincide withthe installation of the last driver (after the Scan, Fax, USB Printer, etc...the one called, "HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m177fw"). I've tried downloading the installation files and drivers from the HP website and installing from the disk provided, but neither method works. Can someone there offer any help, please? Claude

    Hi ,  I think it's time to take the proverbial gloves off.  I suggest you try a selective start up on your PC working directly with MSCONFIG to try and determine what, if any Windows service or program is interfering with your ability to install the drivers.  Here's how:   Click on the Start menuIn the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Selective Startup' and uncheck Load Startup ItemsClick the Services tab. Check the box at the bottom for Hide All Microsoft ServicesSelect Disable AllSelect Apply and OKRestart your computer when promptedAfter you reboot, try the install again.  If you're able to finish the setup we can safely assume there is a background program or service on your computer blocking the install. You will need to enable one service at a time on your computer to locate the program that's blocking your printer from printing.   Here's how to undo the above-noted MSCONFIG steps:  Click the Start icon.In the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Normal Startup'Click Apply and OKRestart your computer as prompted.  If this approach falls short I recommend you reach out to our tech support team.     I understand you are having trouble installing your HP ENVY 5660 to your Mac OS X 10.6.8, and I am happy to look into this for you!
    According to this printer's specifications, Printer Specifications for the HP ENVY 5640, 5660, 7640, and Officejet 5740 and 8040 e-All-in-One Pr.... The minimum system requirements for Mac is version Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
    However, as a workaround since there is no HP software, there is a driver directly through Apple that you can use. HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X. This will allow for printing and scanning.
    To scan without HP software, please see this guide, Scan from OS X v10.7 Lion With the Full Feature HP Software for HP Multifunction Printers. Even though it says for 10.7 this will work on 10.6.8 as well. Select Scan without HP software, scroll down and you will see three methods.
    Otherwise, you might be able to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7. You will have to contact Apple Support, to find out.

  • HP Color LaserJet 1600 does not work

    Hi, I purchased a HP Color LaserJet 1600, it is said/written that the printer will work for Windows and Mac. Am running the MacBookAir with Leopard, it doesn't work, even the CD to install the driver my hard drive doesn't accept, I also can't download a driver from the net, does anybody know what to do?     Here's a link to the UK support site, I think you can get live help from here - but according to the HP website, the printer you just bought is an old model that has been discontinued, and I can't see any Mac drivers for it either.....
    But it's puzzling that your computer won't read the CD....a quick browse through other HP Laserjet discussions in these forums gives me the impression that HP gives no support to Mac users and that other people have been having trouble with other HP models.
    Maybe you've been swindled. Maybe you should demand a refund.

  • Mac cannot detect scanner option on HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw after trying every method

    I have recently purchased the new printer HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw and I am having a lot of trouble trying to scan. I have spend hours trying to fix this.
    I have tried all the methods on this website, (trying through preview, printers and scanners (no scanner option showing) image capture, etc. I have also installed all the necessary drivers with no luck (CD and from HP website)
    Then I tried all the other methods that were listed, I have tried restarting, deleting drivers and proceeding through image capture, preview and sanner and printers,  it just does not have scan option anywhere.
    The printer is working fine though, and I am connected to the printer through wifi
    I do not know what else to try, please help.

    I see by your post that you aren't able to scan through the wireless network. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
    When you added the printer, did you add it as a Bonjour printer or did you have to type in the IP address and add it through IP Protocal? The reason I am asking is because when adding the printer through IP Protocal you can only print, your not able to scan with the printer added this way.
    Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. It should list just the printer's name. (HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw )
    Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
    If the printer name isn't listed properly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in)
    If you are still having issues, uninstall the printer software.
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:
    Close all applications.
    On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
    Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.
    Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions.
    Restart the computer.
    Empty the trash.
    Reset the Printing System:
    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.
    Click Printers & Scanners.
    Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.
    Click OK to confirm the reset.
    Type the correct Name and Password.
    Click OK to reset the printing system.
    Then install the printer software again. HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M176/M177 Series Software.
    If the issue persists, connect the printer directly to the Mac and try and scan through a USB connection. Just to rule out a network issue.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP2025 is listed as Offline

    Our HP Color LaserJet CP2025 was bought in the middle of November, 2011 and has been working fine since then. I set it up with a static IP address and no one has had troubles connecting or printing until yesterday. All of a sudden the printer is listed as offline for everyone. A reboot of the printer will sometimes allow it to print one job and then go back to offline. Any time it is attached via USB, it works like a charm. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver/printer, I've updated the firmware, I've ran the HP Print Diagnostic Utility and it says that everything is fine, I've plugged it into different switches and none of them work. I'm lost and out of ideas. Any help?
    I'm currently running Vista Ultimate 64bit but it has shown up as offline on all the XP and 7 computers as well.

    I figured it out. I set a static IP on the printer but didn't reserve the IP for it on my DHCP server so someone else had take the address. As soon as I changed the IP it worked great.
