HP Color LaserJet CP1210 photoprints creating shadows

 HP Color LaserJet CP1210 print
I have a problem on the CP 1210. On the self test / configuration page the left hand 90 degree corner with the black dot on the inside corner is not regular compared to the same graphic on the right side of the page. Also there are gaps towards the left hand side of the four coloured lines at the bottom of the page. This corresponds to the type and position of shadowing I am getting on the page when I am printing in landscape. I have done the configuration 4 times with no change. I've changed cartridges, printer position and all the things on the troubleshooting page that are able to be done. My conclusion is that as the page prints from the right to left there has occured some sort of stretching or opening on a component inside the printers mechanisms. So I can tell you that it is an alignment problem. I am currently working on the solution. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem.

My Printer at work, HP Color Laserjet CP1215 recently has started printing crooked.  I have open all doors to check for anything stuck in the printer that could be causing it to print crooked.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am not getting anywhere with what I have found on the website.

    Hi Tawnya,
A couple of items come to mind that we can check:
    1) Paper type/specs  Make sure you're using recommended paper type for this product.
    2) Remove, restack and reload and check paper guides in the tray to ensure the guides are against the paper and if available, restock with some fresh paper.
    3) Have you recently experienced a paper jam?  Were you able to remove the page intact?  If not, there still may be a small piece of paper lodged in the printer causing the skew.
    4)  If the above steps don't resolve, I might recommend a calibration, steps listed below.
    Best of luck!!
Follow these steps to calibrate the product.
    Open Toolbox .
Windows XP: Click Start ( ), click All Programs , click HP , click your product, and then click HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox .
Windows Vista: Click the Windows icon ( ), click All Programs , click HP , click your product, and then click HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox .
Click the Device Settings folder, and then click the Print Quality page.
Under Print Quality , click Calibrate next to Calibrate Now .
Click OK when the 'Your request has been sent to the device ' message appears on the computer. The calibration process begins.
NOTE:Calibration might take 2 to 3 minutes. Do not turn the product off during calibration.
When calibration ends, try printing again.
If the issue is resolved, stop troubleshooting.
If you are still experiencing print quality issues, repeat steps 1 through 5 in this solution. You can recalibrate the printer as many as 3 times.

  • Laserjet CP2025 When printing colored text I get a shadow/halo around each letter

I am able to print black text perfectly but when I try to print any colored text there is a shadow/halo around each letter that makes it difficult to read. I tried turning off the Edge control in the printing properties section but the problem stayed the same. Any ideas on what my problem might be? Thank you.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

We need more detail. What program are you printing with? Do you get the same color effect no matter what program you are using? The program you use when you get color halos have you used that program before and did not get halos?
Have you tried a different program an still get halos? If so, have you tried reinstalling you printer software package?
Do the halos appear to be intentional or do they appear to be a quality print problem? If it looks like a quality ink issue, have you removed the color toners and slowly tilted them side to side to mix the toner? If you do that and get good print results, its time to get new or refurbished color toners (or refill them).
If the halos appear to be intentional, you probably have a software problem, anything from a degraded driver to settings in the printer manufacturer's software, to Windows. If the problem seems to be software related, you may want to try my "keep it simple stupid" and not try to find out precisely where the problem is but simple do some broad but quick actions.
First, I would run your registry repair and registry clean utility(ies). I would do a hard drive defrag & then a registry defrag.
If none of this ends the problem, I'd uninstall and reinstall the entire software package that came with your printer. Before I did that, I think I'd reinstall the program that is printing halos in color mode.

  • Color Laserjet 2600n Toolbox - Windows 7 64 Bit

I'm having trouble finding the HP Toolbox.    I have a Color Laserjet 2600n.   OS is Windows 7 - 64 Bit.  When I print checks, I notice a slight shadowing of the numbers.  Thinking it may need cleaned, but I cant find my toolbox anymore and have to tried to look online.  I saw something regarding there was no toolbox for Windows 7.  Is this still the case?  When I print on paper everything looks fine.  Also, anything I print that has red in it doesnt not print very well.  This has been a problem for several years.   I had XP until March 2013 and then got a new computer.  Before the computer switch I cleaned and aligned the printer several times, but still no red print.
    Thanks,
    pdl2

I would suggest installing the PCL6 driver on your XP machine, then on the XP machine do the following:  Start, Settings, Printers and Faxes, Add a Printer, Next, Local Printer, Next, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, Have Disk, point to the directory where the driver was installed (default C:\clj4500pcl6win2kxp).

  • HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw How to Scan

I just bout the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw printer today and don't know how to use the scanner. I use Windows 8 operating system. Please advise how to use th scanner function. Thanks.

Hi, From page #38 of the manual: Scan by using the HP Scan software (Windows)
Use the HP Scan software to initiate scanning from software on your computer. You can save the scanned image as a file or send it to another software application.
    1. Load the document on the scanner glass according to the indicators on the product.
NOTE: For best results, load small-size paper (Letter, A4, or smaller) with the long edge of the paper along the left side of the scanner glass.
    2. Click Start, and then click Programs (or All Programs in Windows XP).
    3. Click HP, and then select your product.
    4. Click HP Scan, select a scanning shortcut, and then adjust the settings if necessary.
    5. Click Scan.
NOTE: Click Advanced Settings to gain access to more options.
Click Create New Shortcut to create a customized set of settings and save it in the list of shortcuts. Regards.

  • Can't install Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw

I'm having trouble installing the drivers for my new Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw AIO printer.  I'm using a Sony Vaio VPCX118LG running Windows 7. I initially successfully installed the software from the disk provided some weeks ago, and had the printer running satisfactorily.  About 3 weeks ago, I attempted unsuccessfully to install Office 2013 on the 32 system, and finally gave up trying and went back to Office 2010.  Since about that time, I've been unable to use either of my M177s (I have two printers in my two offices in different cities; the one in Sydnay is working fine with my HP Pavilion desktop up there, but now won't work with my laptop, as won't the other identical printer in Canberra). I've tried uninstalling the software (using the Uninstall utility on the disk provided with the printer) and reinstalling.  The install process seems to be proceeding normally but at about 99% complete stops with a message about a "Fatal Error".  When monitoring the process using the Windows dialogue, the failure appears to coincide withthe installation of the last driver (after the Scan, Fax, USB Printer, etc...the one called, "HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m177fw"). I've tried downloading the installation files and drivers from the HP website and installing from the disk provided, but neither method works. Can someone there offer any help, please? Claude

Hi ,  I think it's time to take the proverbial gloves off.  I suggest you try a selective start up on your PC working directly with MSCONFIG to try and determine what, if any Windows service or program is interfering with your ability to install the drivers.  Here's how:   Click on the Start menuIn the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Selective Startup' and uncheck Load Startup ItemsClick the Services tab. Check the box at the bottom for Hide All Microsoft ServicesSelect Disable AllSelect Apply and OKRestart your computer when promptedAfter you reboot, try the install again.  If you're able to finish the setup we can safely assume there is a background program or service on your computer blocking the install. You will need to enable one service at a time on your computer to locate the program that's blocking your printer from printing.   Here's how to undo the above-noted MSCONFIG steps:  Click the Start icon.In the 'search programs and files' box right above Start, type msconfig and hit enter on your keyboardWhen the System Configuration Window opens click 'Normal Startup'Click Apply and OKRestart your computer as prompted.  If this approach falls short I recommend you reach out to our tech support team. You can click on the following link to initiate a case: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Once you fill out the online form to create your case you can choose from different direct contact methods. Best of luck,

  • HP Color LaserJet Problems with intel iMac

Can anyone give me advice on the following:-
When I try to print from my wife's new intel iMac 20" to our HP Color LaserJet 2550L, it doesn't work and print center gives me the following error message ... "The process "hppostprocessing" terminated unexpectedly on signal 5" .
The printer is connected directly to the iMac via USB. It's not on a network.
I ran the HP Color LaserJet installer from the original CD that came with the printer and when that didn't work I downloaded another (latest) Color LaserJet installer (dated 2004) from the HP website. Still getting the same error message from PrintCenter.
When I look at the HP installer log, it appears that the installer tried several times without success to install plugins into the PPD folder (HD->Library->Printers->PPD).
After trying installation and checking out my PPD folder (above) there is nothing in it.
This printer has been (still) working fine with our older 20inch iMac.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Same happened with my photosnart. Here is part of the email from HP
Thank you for contacting HP Total Care.
I understand from your email that you are not able to print to your
photosmart 1218 printer from your new imac.
I believe you are correct when you mention the glitch between the new
    Intel processor in the iMac.
I have checked the Apple website and noted the pre-installed printer
drivers that ship with this operating system, do NOT include drivers for
the Photosmart 1218 printer. There are Gimp print drivers available for
the Photosmart P1000 printer. They may work, but provide only basic
printer functionality. (see the Apple document listed below).
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057#hpdrivers
I understand that our engineers are investigating the driver issue with
the Intel-based Macs, however, I cannot provide you with an expected
date of resolution. Your printer was manufactured in 2000, and the most
recent drivers are from Aug 2005. These drivers were created before the
    Intel based macs were available.

  • HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP and OSX Yosemite

Hello all. I have a HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP, and i can't install it on OSX 10.10 Yosemite. When i plug in the USB cable, nothing happens. My Mac does not find the printer, and i can't install driver from HP's website. All USB ports in my Mac works, and i can plug the cable in a Windows computer, where there is no problem at all. I tried to update the firmware through a Windows computer, but it did not helped. Any suggestions?

The HP drivers won't load on my 10.10.x (10.10.1 thru 10.10.4) OSX macbook pro.  The install says the version of OSX isn't supported even thought I've tried 1.5.0 dmg file which is for 10.7 and greater.  I did the math and I believe 10.10.x is greater than any version of 10.7.  I also tried HP Easy Scan and it doesn't even see my scanner.  Printing works fine, but I scan a lot of paper.  Also, I've found that the Mac OSX version of the HP software (when it still worked) creates obscenely large PDF files.  I can get around this by opening Adobe Acrobat Pro and re-saving the file as a reduced file size with the same name.  I can take a 25 MB file HP creates and get it down to about 300KB or so.  I found a way around all this but you won't like it.  I've loaded Parallels (installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit) and installed the windows client in my parallels image.  The windows client works fine.  Not a solution I prefer, but this is an HP issue not an apple issue .... HP hasn't put out a driver for this printer in the better part of 3.5 years.  Lastly, I'm not hooking up a USB cable to my printer/fax/scanner .... what's the point of having a dhcp network capable printer if I have to hard wire to a PC? I've used HP printers since the mid-'90s, but I guess it's time to find a company that supports OSX.

  • Hp color laserjet cm1312nfi mfp misprint

    Good day.
I have a HP Color Laserjet CM1312nfi MFP, when printing, it prints 2 to 3 pages and then displays cleaning on the lcd display and after it runs through with the cleaning it comes up with the error "Misprint, Press okay to continue" and if you do so it carries on printing the rest of the pages and the quality is 100%. Just annoying that you have to keep getting up and pressing continue on the printer all the time. It does not jam or anything.
Any suggestions to why the printer is doing this?

  • Windows 8 driver solution for HP Color LaserJet 3550

I have successfully installed on my "windows 8 32bit" Hp color laserjet 3550 printer with a USB cable.
(the guides seemed possible only with win8 64bit)
    Follow these steps:
    1) in Hp website support driver, select drivers for windows XP
    2) download clj3550prnsyswin-us.exe (HP color LaserJet 3550 printing system 2.0 April 15, 2005 86.4 MB)
    3) run the setup you unzip the files in c: \ clj3550 printing systems
    4) Connect the USB printer
    5) in the control panel, printer management, add a new local printer
    6) aggingere drivers from disk, select driver in c: \ clj3550 printing systems
    7) At this point the printer is created (hp color laserjet 3550), but it does not work, does not print any page
    8) in device manager right click and update drivers automatically, he searches for the driver online, update them and concludes the setup
    9) now in the control panel, printer management, you will find another printer, hp color laserjet 3550 copy. This one print very well.
    I hope it is useful

  • Very slow printing Illustrator CS3 to HP Color Laserjet 3600

Illustrator hangs upwards of ten minutes with a beachball at the "Printing Page:" window, before the file shows up in the print queue.
Illustrator is printing fine to all my other printers, (hp Deskjet & 2 Epson Pro 4000's) and all my other apps print to the HP Color Laserjet 3600 nice and speedily. If I reboot, it takes about 45 seconds on the first print, then back to 10 + minutes, after that.
Happens with any Illustrator file. I've created several new files, both RGB and CMYK. Acrobat will print these files nice and speedily. I can place them in InDesign, and it prints them nice and speedily.
CS2 also hangs in the same fashion.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I don't know if this is related, but...
My MacBook Pro (Airport) has always been dicey connecting to an HP LaserJet 4000 on my wired LAN. Before Snow Leopard, I used AppleTalk rather than IP printing because it just worked.
But Snow Leopard doesn't support AppleTalk any more, so I reinstalled the printer to connect via JetDirect (which supposedly provides more features). When it works, it works fine. But very often I get a message that it can't connect to the printer. The only thing I've found that fixes the problem is power-cycling the printer, which somehow enables queued jobs to print. Needless to say, this gets old.
Is there some trick I'm missing?

  • Color Laserjet 4500 on Windows 7 - 64 bit Share with XP - 32 bit Need Additional 32-bit Drivers

    Here's the setup:
Desktop: Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit with Color Laserjet 4500, shared, connected and working fine. The name of the driver is HP Color LaserJet 4500 PCL 5.
Laptop: Windows XP Professional - 32 bit.
No network problems. Laptop sees the printer, but can't connect without the correct additional 32-bit drivers installed on the desktop. The only drivers I've been able to find are listed here. When I try to add under host printer properties/sharing/additional drivers, none of the downloaded .inf files are accepted.
Since Windows 7 installed a perfectly good 64-bit driver, there must be a compatible 32-bit driver that cab be added to allow the XP laptop to connect to this printer- but I have not been able to find it!

  • Color LaserJet 3800 Printing Issues

I am in the process of upgrading our desktop computers to Windows 7 Pro (x64). In preparation for this we setup a new print server running Windows Server 2008 R2 and created new print queues for each of the printers on our old Windows 2003 server, installed curent drivers for each, and thought that all would be good.
The issue I am seeing is that our users who are printing to an HP Color LaserJet 3800 are getting letter spacing issues where some letters are crushed together and others are too widely spaced (see example above). I can print the same document to an HP Color LaserJet 3600 everything looks correct.
I have verified that the print server has the HP Color LaserJet 3800 driver that comes with Windows Server 2008 R2 and that the other printer is running the HP Color LaserJet 3600 driver. These are both probably the ones available through Windows Update. Finally, we have tested a solution where the Universal Print driver is intalled locally and that seems to work fine. However, I don't want to have drivers individually installed if I can help it.
    Any ideas here?

This seems to be a commercial printer. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support.
