HP Color LaserJet CP1515n

Hi! Which type of SODIMM is compatible with printer HP Color LaserJet CP1515n

Hi serge_shadow,
This is the only type I can find that you would be able to purchase for your HP Color LaserJet CP1515n:
HP 256 MB DDR2 144-pin DIMM (CB423A)

• Problem with HP Color laserjet CP1515n !

Dear anyone,
My HP Color laserjet CP1515n is running wilde, because it prints every single page with black stripes on the margin. I have tryed to start the cleaning mode several times, but it does over and over again...
Please, hase anybody any experience regarding to such behaviour?...
Thanks a lot
/E

Hi - I have not seen this issue, but let me see if I can get some more information in order and try to help.
(1) Are the stripes running vertically down the page, or are they running horizontally across the page? If running horizontaly across the page, what is the distance (in millimeters) between each defect?
(2) Is the product (and cartridges) new? Did the product (and cartridges) ever work normally?
(3) Please print 5 pages that have color and then print 5 pages that only have black and white text. Do you see the defect on all 10 pages?
These types of issues are difficult to troubleshoot without seeing the defect, but maybe I can offer some help based on the answer you give.

• HP Color LaserJet CP1515n - Out of alignment, ghosting or blurred image.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope someone, possibly a member of HP staff is able to provide a solution for a problem with a Color LaserJet CP1515n printer, which has being asked quite a number of times, without a satisfactory solution, other than to replace the rather expensive toner cartridges, even if they are still usable for months after the page count is gone to zero. Where is the sense for the protection of our environment in that, having to replace near full cartridges??? I purchase only original and genuine HP cartridges, but I refuse to discard a near full unit, simply because the counter says so.
Now to the issue at hand:
Printer: HP CP1515n, model CC377A
Firmware: date code 20080813
Operating system Windows 7 Professional
Printer used as a shared network printer and runs daily through the calibration routine when switched on.
Issue present with all connected PC's, also running Windows 7.
Problem: Currently it is impossible to print pages without a blurred edge on the right hand side of an A4 page. Alignment appears to be correct on the left hand side of the page. Was able to print Diagnostics Pages ( two), which shows a parameter settings matrix from 01 to 27 and A to X and there is also a second page with a large number of squares in colors, which also show the mis-alignment.
As the "ToolboxFX" program, which is mentioned numerous times in the support pages, is not supported in Windows 7 anymore, the user has to make do with the web interface of the printer, which allows for a range of settings as well. I assume this web interface does not support the adjustment all settings on the printer.
From the diagnostics page, I assume it might be possible to adjust the parameters set out in the parameters matrix, shown in the middle of the page. I would like to know, how can this be done or at least re-set, as I think these parameters show how askew the image is printing?
I might be wrong, but I'm not convinced this mis-alignment issue is simply down to the cartridges.
Looking forward to a reply or any suggestions.
Thank you very much.

Thanks for letting me know James_LAG.
At this point it does look like a hardware issue with the printer. Please call our technical support and inquire about a replacement printer, at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Contact HP.

• HP Color LaserJet CP1515n - Disable colour?

Hello,
We have a HP Color LaserJet CP1515n and I have made general settings to prevent students printing to it in colour. Now that's fine until they configure the print settings and turn it back to colour again.
Is there any way I can restrict access to the areas where they can set it to colour/black&white/greyscale so that they cannot get around this?

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I see that you are having some issues with printing colour on your Laserjet CP 1515n. I can help you with that. Now, since I am not quite sure whether you have a software issue or a hardware issue in disguise we're going to do some of both types of troubleshooting. First, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once that is done this document will outline how to troubleshoot print quality issues on the printer. If you have any issues please let me know what happens and I will be able to assist you further.
I hope this helps and I hope you have a great day!

• Best Quality Printing on HP Color Laserjet CP1515N

Hello,
I am new to a Mac. When trying to print from any application the prints are all coming in a "normal quality" mode. What settings should I use for a "Best Quality" print?
In the print menu I am not getting the "Select Paper Type/Quality"
I am using a HP LaserJet CP1515N and have uninstalled and installed the drivers numerous times with no effect.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? I will appreciate any suggestions.
Please help as I need to print some good quality brochures.
Thank you.

• Color LaserJet CP1515n colour print misalignment between CMYK

The registration of the 4 colors has significantly gone out of alignment by up to 2 mm both horizontally and vertically. I have tried all the HP documentation through to section 11, but no amount of calibration or changing supplies will put the colors back in alignment. I had hoped that there would be a registration tool for the laser printer but I cannot find one despite extensive searching of both HP and rest of web. I recon HP actually register the cartridges by physical alignment, but it is not obvious to me in what way the drive chain may have altered to cause this effect. Clearly a small insert can move the cartridge side to side, but for vertical adjustment there seems to be little or no play in how the toner cartridge fits into the machine. Clearly the printer was ok recently and nobody had complained, and as it has not been moved or supplies replaced (other than paper), it is probably a physical problem, but what? I don't think it is a software issue, unless there has been an upgrade to the printer driver. I can't think that the firmware would have changed either. The printer is a current model (June 2012), just out of guarantee!. Does anybody know how to fix this (real solutions only please), or maybe a HP employee will actually know a proper way to do this?

OMG I think I have cracked it.So I bought a CP1515n for £10 sold as spares or repair. Worth a punt. No toners though but for less than £7 each on ebay I was ready to go. the cyan is misaligned, the yellow ‘ain’t printing. Perhaps the crack at the of the printer indicating it was dropped was the reason. So I searched the web and came across this useful site. Did all the tricks but was curious about the dust one. Mmmmm.True, fine dust on the thingy may mean a slight lag for the first colour but picking up for the rest.So I stripped of the sides, top, front and back - basically anything that had an easy access screw and was clipped on. Gave every nook and cranny a good vacuum with the crevice extension. Also gave the wide rubber belt a really good clean with micro fibre cloth. There was plenty of fine dust and toner in really thin layers. Easy to roll it around with your hand.Put it back together and printed a test page.:/ The yellow has suddenly started working but the cyan was still out of alignment. And now for the solution. On a whim, I scrolled through the paper Def. paper type list. It was set to plain. Urrmmm, see what happens if I set it to rough. I DID IT, I AM A GENIUS. IT WORKED Try setting the paper to rough and see if that fixes it. So I have a colour laser printer for 10 quid and three new colour tonners for less than 20 quid. RESULT. I thank you.....(bows, bows again, and again to applause ringing in his ears). If you are careful you can just remove the tonner tray to get access to the rubber band that drags the paper through for a clean. There is a plastic widget on the left hand side to watch out for, it clips in horizontally. I found it because it dropped out, luckily I found where it came from.

• Color LaserJet CP1515n and ghost printing in Windows 7

I have an odd problem with my printer, that has otherwise worked perfectly. In XP there was never a problem, but with Windows 7 it is not going as well.
The test pages from the printer look correct, and as i said there was no problem until i switched to Windows 7. I can print text perfectly fine, but when i try to print an image, i get a blurry "ghost" printing. It is as if the image is printed faintly, slightly lower, which makes it look like i am seeing double and make my head hurt. This happens both for monochrome and color printing.
As i said, i do not beleive it to be a physical problem with the printer, because the testpages look correct. But i just cannot print any kind of image without getting the ghost print. How can i fix this?

Hi,
Have you been able to solve the ghost printing problem as I have encountered the same problem & would like to know how to fix it?
Many thanks

• My HP Color LaserJet CP1515n printer

I have followed all the troubleshooting advice. The green light is flashing and it says it is printing but nothing happens. When I turn it off and on again and re print it goes through the process of picking up the paper and produces it correctly but it is a blank piece of paper. Help!!!

Check in Printing Preferences, Advanced for a menu item for "Print All Text as Black" and set this to Disabled.

• Printing problems with hp laserjet cp1515n [found problem]

Dear Arch users,
A couple of weeks ago I installed for the first time an Arch linux on my brand new Dell laptop with an UEFI MB. It took a while until I could understand how UEFI works but eventually I sort it out and got Arch installed. Unfortunatelly there are some small problems to be straiten out. One of them is the fact that printing with my laser printer (see subject line) is not working.
for the last couple of days I was searching through all post I could find around on the internet, mainly here at the Arch forum. Unfortunatelly I could not find anything nearly describing what I am living on my system. Well here is a brief description of what is happening. After installing Arch, I opted for KDE desktop environment and I made the full instalation. After installing additional software (gimp, inkskape, etc.) I needed to install my printer. At first I couldn't get permission. Than reading the Arch tutorial for CUPS, I saw that the 'lp' permission was not setup properly. Well Have done as described there. Then I tryed to install using the GUI from KDE for installing an usb printer and for my surprise there was not such an option. I intalled than de hp-toolbox, and than it was easy to install the printer. It was automatically recognized and everything was there. The problem was, when I open an archive (text, web page, doesn't matter) and send it to print, the spooler went well theoretically sent to printer and then popped up a notification saying printing finished. Opening the printing cue, I can see that the archive was still there and marked as pending. That was the point where I started to search around for potential solutions or similar solutions.
After sudying a lot I came to a conclusions that it probably have something to do with permissions. Unfortunately I could not find out where or which permissions to change in order to get something printed. I found some "debugging" and information commands and I am posting the results here;

OK here am I again.
as mentioned before I created an bogus printer with:
lpadmin -p test -v file:/dev/null
verified the presence of the printer;
lpstat -p
$ lpstat -p
printer Color_LaserJet_cp1515n disabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:55:59 PM BRST -
reason unknown
printer hp930c is idle. enabled since Thu 31 Jan 2013 11:30:21 PM BRST
printer test is idle. enabled since Fri 01 Feb 2013 02:54:57 PM BRST
At first "test" printer was disabled for an uknown reason.
tried to use lpadmin -p test to enable the printer as described on the previusly mentioned web site, but couldn't get to enable printer "test". After reading alittle more on the internet I found the command cupsenable <printer> and indeed it changed the printer status.
tried to print;
echo test | lp -d test
result:
$ echo test | lp -d test
lp: Destination "test" is not accepting jobs.
I tried to change the condition of the Color laser printer but did not made any difference with the cups command.
Conclusion: how can I modify this status to make the printer accept jobs?

• HP Color LaserJet 1515n obsolete?

Having calculated it would be cheaper to buy a new CP1515n printer than get it fixed, I decided to buy a new one.
I have been told by several suppliers that they are unable to get hold of the CP1515n due to a shortage for the last 3 months. They have said that that this model is now probably obsolete based upon previous experience.
I unfortunately now have a whole new set of CMYK cartridges that I cannot use. Is there an alternative color printer I can use them in? Or should I sell them on eBay.
I cannot get any sense out of HP, and they won't confirm shortages/production problems or if the model is now obsolete, or any help to buy a new printer.
Can anybody help, if not I will most likely buy Canon instead.

I'm able to find "remarketed" units on the Web.

• Can't install HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP at notebook HP Pavilion

I bought new notebook HP Pavilion 13-a051sr with Windows 8.1 (x64) onboard.
I'm trying to install HP Scan.
While installing all-in-one HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP using "CM1312series-win7-full-solution-AM-EMEA1-v5.1.exe" can not get after the dialog window "Locating the printer". Printer could not be found even if I write down printer' IP-address. The latest printer firmware is already installed. Firewall is disabled, antivirus is closed.
I installed printer without any problems using it IP-address. What can I do in order to install scanner module?

HP Print Drivers

• Software for HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP is not currently available from the Software Update server.

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and found that I could no longer print to my HP CM1312nfi.
This is usually a problem with HP at every upgrade, but this time, they appear to have offloaded the driver download process to Apple.
My printer is connected wirelessly through a time capsule by IP address—the physical, not the virtual, e.g: 169.254.xx.xx instead of 10.0.1.x.
When I try to download the driver by bonjour or IP, I get the following error message:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
Is this truly a Software Update server error, and if so, any clue when it will be resolved?
I am able to print with the generic driver as of now, but fax and scan capabilites are gone. The add fax dialog lists no devices.
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?
Thanks for your time and attention.

Of course, once I posted this, I tried again and downloaded the driver without issue.
My second question still stands, however:
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?

Hello @ Averus89,
Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you have done quite a lot to resolve your M176n and its connection to the ePrint service.
I would like to help you with this issue.
If the printer is not printing the web services info sheet, or allowing you to add it to HP Connected, I
would set a manual DNS.
I wont go into great detail about setting this up. From your post, I feel you know your way around the printer and your network. If I am mistaken, let me know. I will go into detail.
The DNS to try is:
Primary: 209.244.0.3
Secondary: 209.244.0.4
Set the DNS then try printing the web services info page again.
Let me know if this helps.

• HP Color Laserjet 4600dn - presets don't save

We have an HP Color Laserjet 4600dn which is networked and is using Appletalk.

In OS X 10.4 we could go into the "Paper Feed" feature in the Print menu (in MS Word, for example), set the feed to Tray #2 and save this as a "preset" we called "Main Tray".
In OS X Leopard I can no longer save the preset so the paper is always fed out of tray #1 unless (1) there is no paper in tray #1 or (2) I manually set the paper feed feature each time.
HP does not have a newer drive on its website and Leopard has the CLJ 4600 in its list of printer drivers and has settings for features such memory and duplex.
Anyone have an idea how to get the very useful "presets" function working again?
Thanks
Rich

This is a known problem and will most likely have to wait for an update from Apple.

• HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw - PostScript support?

Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a new printer/scanner/copier(/fax is a nice to have, but not mandatory), and I'm deciding between the following models:
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw
PostScript support is important for me, and I know that the 175 has this. However, I'm not sure about the 177, even after digging through several web pages and documents. Here's what I found:
- The main specs page for the 177 says that it supports "PCLm". I'm not familiar with this PCL variant, so I don't know how it compares to PCL5 or PCL6, etc. I was unable to find more information on "PCLm".
- The "Software Included" section of Page 2 of the PDF datasheet for the 177 mentions "HP PostScript" driver. This is the only place where I've seen any potential indication that the 177 supports PostScript. This section also mentions a "PCLmS" driver. I could not find any further information on "PCLmS".
- The for User Guide the 177 only mentions PostScript in a section that refers to ePrint. However, it does not imply that the 177 itself supports PostScript.
- The Product Specifications page (in the Support section of the HP site) for the 177 has a "Printing Specifications" section which lists only "PCL3 GUI" next to "Device languages".
I'm guessing that the 177 does not support PostScript, but does anyone have any more definitive information? Also, is there a description of PCLm / PCLmS somewhere?
Thanks!
