HP Compaq C571NR has no audio after Windows 10 Upgrade

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and have not had any audio since then.  Microsoft tried to fix it for me but they said I would have to contact HP for help as there does not seem to be any updated drivers available for Windows 10 yet.  Are there drivers for a different model that might work?  I'd like to be able to hear what's playing on my computer again.  Thank you for all help you can provide.

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the Vista audio driver from your notebook's support page. This package contains the Conexant Audio Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems.
File name: sp35940.exe You may have to manually install the driver if the auto install doesn't work.

  • Lenovo G570 has no audio after Windows 10 upgrade

I don't have any audio now that I've upgraded to Windows 10. I've tried various sources including Netflix and music apps. Headphones don't work either. I went through all the steps on this site to no avail. (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103792) I also restarted the laptop. I talked to Windows support and they told me to downgrade to Windows 8 and try uploadng again-- I'm not sure how that would even work. They also said that Lenovo needed to update their drivers. Lenovo wants to charge me $20 a month to fix the issue. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Do I have any other options?

  • Microphone has gone quiet after Windows 10 upgrade

The upgrade  from 8.1 to Windows 10 has been great however a single nagging problem exsits, my mircophone isn't working as it should. After the upgrade the volume levels on my internal microphone has been very low. Despite reinstalling the Realtek High Definition Audio drivers from the HP and microsoft websites, the problem still persists. Troubling shooting the internal microphone also didn't help along with enabling/disabling the device, setting it as default etc. It would be appreciated if some sort of fix is provided for this issue, thank you.

Beats Audio Control Panel software not working after Windows 10 upgrade.  the Beats sound enhancement is useless in WIndows 10. When opening the Windows 10 sound properties  I'm getting this box message: Auido enhancement problem Windows has detected the audio enhancement for the following device are causing problems: Speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec) Woud you like to disable driver enhancement for this device?  IDT High Definition Audio CodecBeats Audio Control Panel version6.10.6491.02013.11.2009:43:18 Please provide some kind of fix for this?

Well, it has been a long road on the Win 10 upgrade. At first I got the same error message as above, but after deleting the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 in Win 10 using Control Panel Programs and Features and rebooting, I got into the continual BSOD upon reboot. Here are the steps I took to at least get stable on Windows 10. First, I rolled back to Windows 8.1 using the advanced feature in the BSOD recovery options. Once back in Win 8.1, I deleted the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Then I downloaded the Win 10 update and re-installed it. Once that completed, I updated the Intel Graphics driver under the display adapters (on my G780 it is an Intel HD Graphics 4000, and the driver can be found at  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/). Currently I am running version 10.18.10.4252 for my machine. Then, under the Device Manager, I updated the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver under the Sound, video, and game controllers. That driver is currently at 8.66.4.50 and was automatically downloaded from the web when I requested to update driver.  I also changed several others settings such as Notify to schedule restart after updates are installed instead of automatic (under Settings --> Update & Security --> Advanced Options) and Do you want Windows to download driver software and realistic icons for your devices? --> No, let me choose what to do, never install driver software from Windows Update.  After that, I shut down the machine, waited a moment and booted back up. I have no idea why this helped or if it is overkill, but I am stable and running without a fear of rebooting now. Hope this helps if someone else is having this same issue.

  • Skype does not recognize my headset after Windows 10 upgrade

Hi everyoneSkype stopped recognizing my headset after Windows 10 upgrade.  I've tried the solution deactivating the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" option. No success.  The headset works on my other Windows 8.1 laptop and my Cellphone. Other applications, including Windows 10 microphone setup for speech recognition work. Here is something strange though.  When I open up Skype audio tools and tap the microphone between thumb/finger Skype detects this and shows 4/5 green bars.   Any ideas?

Your upgrade haven't changed the drivers properly.
    1. Just go to Device Manager and delete the audio drivers.
    2. Then restart your pc and switch on the internet.
    3. Your drivers will be automatically installed by Windows Update.

  • Satellite A300D-15B - Webcam won't work after Windows 7 upgrade

My webcam doesnt work after Windows 7 upgrade. I have installed the drivers but still having no luck

    Hi
The webcam is listed in device manager under the Imaging devices
There you should see USB Video Device.
If its not listed there, then I think that the device malfunctions or its disconnected.
The webcam is an usb device and its connected to USB controller.
I read in different threads that in some cases the cable could be loose and therefore the webcam would not be listed in device manager.
I such case the display lid needs to be disassembled and the cables should be checked.
In my opinion its a job for an technician.

  • No HDMI audio out after Windows 7 Upgrade

I have a DV4-1123US with an Intel Integrated Graphics Card(X4500, I think), and Intel High Definition Audio HDMI.  After upgrading to Win7, there is now no longer an option to set HDMI to use as audio.  In other words, HDMI no longer shows up in the Audio Devices window.  Video works fine.  It seems that I am not the only one having this problem, but does anyone have a solution?  Is this something that we just have to wait on an updated driver for?  I downloaded the most recent video driver from Intel, but Intel for some reason does not recognize my audio driver...

Never mind, problem solved.  I have the Intel chipset for video.  I went to Intel's website, they have a utility under chipset support to tell you if you have the latest driver.  I ran the utility, it told me what I needed, I downloaded it, and after reboot, I have sound through HDMI.

  • Sony DCR SX65 has no audio after import

My iMovie app on my Mac Mini has lately not been loading audio after videos have been imported from my Sony DCR SX65. This is something recent as I have previous videos with sound but now it all my uploads do not have sound.

hey there William & welcome to Discussions.
is the VHS tape old or the MiniDV tape? if VHS, it could be that the signal has just deteriorated over time--it can happen w/ poor storage(heat, laying tapes on flat, not re-wound, etc...) & just age. have you tried not recording to MiniDV & just sending the VHS signals through the Sony w/ out a tape in it? it could be that one or more of you audio cables has gone bad, you may have dirty heads in either the VHS VCR &/or the MiniDV or have audio in problems w/ the Sony &/or audio out problems on the VHS VCR or maybe you have a FW issue on the Sony or w/ your FW cable. if you have access to another cam &/or VCR as well as FW & A-V cables, start swapping/troubleshooting & see if your results improve.
    good luck.

  • Ideapad z400 touch after windows 10 upgrade

I am using the ideapad z400 touch and have been upgraded to windows 10. "Intel graphics card => I reinstalled the windows 8.1 driver from lenovo site", and my brightness problem is solved. I am facing the problem with the intel HD graphics 4000 display driver that I install from lenovo site. The driver seems like not fully compatible with windows 10. My screen will turn off after 5 minutes and when I move the mouse to wake it up I face the problem, the screen will freeze for a while and start to wake up and showed me the message "intel display driver.....has stopped responding and has recovered" This happens everytime after my screen turn off. Besides, my pc can't go to sleep mode. When I select sleep for my pc, the screen went black and it takes a long time to sleep but actually it is not, then it will shut down on its own. I have to press the power button to turn it on again. I think this problem is also related to the display driver. I have no problem with this display driver on windows 8.1. Will Lenovo come out the new driver that compatible with windows 10 from Lenovo site? The latest operating system they provide the drivers is untill windows 8.1. If they do not support the windows 10 driver I will roll back to windows 8.1 with no choice but I sincerely hope that I can keep using windows 10 on my pc I like it. Microsoft gives us one month time to roll back to windows 8.1. I don't know can I upgrade to windows 10 again if I found that Lenovo comes out their new drivers

  • Won't sleep after windows 10 upgrade

After the windows 10 upgrade, laptop won't go into sleep mode completely as before. Most often I've to put my laptop in sleep and then resume my works ASAP but after upgrading to windows 10, it is so painful to start/force-start the lappy everytime.!! The power light blinks fastly and the sudddenly stops in the last thereby putting laptop in freeze/shut down state!!I've updated all video audio drivers.Continuosly am going on installing all the Windows System update coming out daily, still nothing works out.Somewhere I read, the problem is in BIOS driver, I'm not that tech guy so I'm totally in the dark. Some one please help me out.

I just remembered that when it was in the blue screen loop the error that it was reporting was WDF _ VIOLATION.

  • Display Not Filling Screen After Windows 10 Upgrade

After performing Windows 10 upgrade the display on the monitor has a one inch vacant area around the entire display. The resolution is set correctly to 1920 x 1080. There is no way of extending it through the display settings in the PC. The upgrade was made from Windows 7. I have checked via HP and there is no Windows 10 driver available for this monitor even though Microsoft qualified all software and hardware compatible for the upgrade. The adapter is version 8.970.100.9001, dated 1/13/15. I don't know if the graphics card, ATI Radeon HD 4350 connected via HDMI, has any affect on this problem. I would appreciate any help.

I have the same problem with this monitor on using my HP Pavilion dv6 with an ATI Mobility 4200 series chip. The problem is caused by the driver inserting overscan into the picture. I can't find a way to tell Windows 10 to remove the overscan, and the Catalyst Control Center is not compatible with Win10 either. I wonder if this monitor is reporting itself as a "TV" and that's the issue: if so, a driver update could fix it.
