HP Connect vs Eprint can't delete print job causing log jam

I have used eprint for years and recently been transfered to HP Connected.
In Eprint if a job failed to print following jobs would not print until the problem job was deleted.
In HP Connected I can tick the box for the job causing the problem but the delete (and other options) at the top remain unshaded so it does not allow that job to be deleted.  This means I cannot clear the log jam.
Do I need to resort to making a new email for the printer and starting again ?
Any help much appreciated, I tried HP customer help but haven't had any luck so far.
Joel

Hi Joel. To enable full use of the Collections tab, you should have received an email to 'confirm your email'. Have you received this email from HP Connected and clicked the big orange button?
The other factor, is that the jobs in the queue that are 'stuck' will most likely have to fail before they can be deleted. You will not have to get a new email, but you will have to figure out why they are stuck.
The hpconnected site will show you your printer status on the devices tab. Does it say you are online and ready?
You can turn off your printer (unplug it). Pull the plug on your router for 10 seconds or so and then plug it back in. When the router returns to life, power on the printer. When the printer comes back online you need to print an 'info page' or web services report. This can fix this sort of behavior. The process can vary from printer to printer (depending if it has an Eprint button, or Web Services Icon on the front of the printer). What is the model number of printer?
Here is a document helping you find your model number: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=bud09626

How can I delete printed job list Delete jobs grayed

Apple lets you see a list of what is printed out but there is no way to erase the list and mine is two years of all that printed out. I want to erase it but there is no place to get rid of the list or the items on it. Epson said it was an Apple problem. Apple doesn't seem to know the answer. You can only delete jobs when it is not grayed out and it is usually for those you have not printed . I am hoping someone can figure it out.

  • Cannot delete print job

One of my print job is on permanent "hold." The problem is I cannot delete it (neither from the toolbar nor menu), nor can I resume it. I just stays permanently at the top of the print queue. Even after restarting the computer, restarting the printer, it stays there. How can I delete it? Is there some terminal command or such that allows me to delete print jobs?
The printer is a HP J6480.
It's not a major issue, but irritating. I have set the printer icon to "auto quit," but it never quits due to the held job.

  • Can not cancel print job hp officejet 8500 in windows 8

I can not cancel print job for a HP officejet 8500 in windows 8
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.  Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.  Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find the document(s) have been removed.

  • Can't delete printer - client-error-not-found

After messing around with the installation of a cups based network printer (via a local Suse server) I came across some strange problems with my printer setup utility. Currently, I can neither delete nor add a printer from the list for the current user. When trying to delete a previously installed network printer I get an error message that the printer could not be removed (client-error-not-found). When trying to add a new printer I won't get an error message, but the printer is not being added to the list anyhow.
I already tried to reset the printing system both with the printer setup utility and with the Printer Setup Repair Tool from Fixamac, both without success.
I have to note that for user root everything works fine!
    Any suggestions?

The problem was a local .cupsrc file containing some apparently wrong settings. Removing this file solved the problem ...

  • Can SCCM delete print drivers?

Can SCCM remove print drivers from a deployed PC?
I may be in the wrong community.  If so, please point me in the correct direction.
We have roughly 400 printers installed on Server 2012 R2.  We are implementing a new Windows print solution due to our 2008 R2 cluster's erratic behavior.
We created a one node development box that is in place for now.
When we switched from the cluster to a stand alone solution, we had about 150 drivers that became corrupted and would not print until we performed a number of steps to remove the "broken" driver package and replace the driver of the same type from
    our driver store by hand.
    1. Select affected printer, go to local driver store to note location of the print driver files
    2, Delete existing printer
    3. Stop spooler
    4. Delete driver files
    5. Restart print spooler
    6. Run GPUPDATE /FORCE to reapply the printer with a working driver.
Before we go live with our new solution we would like to remove the driver and package using SCCM if possible hoping to avoid the same situation.
Our current deployment method is using Security Groups (memberships) and separate GPOs to push the assigned printer to the proper Windows 7 32 bit OS PCs.
    Any ideas?

The simple answer is If you can script those task then CM07 and deploy it out to either computers and/or user.

  • Printer connected to AE  suddenly won't print jobs submitted by Mac clients

I have an HP 2015 Laserjet connected to an ethernet port on my AE. It has been running fine for almost a year. Suddenly (today) it no longer prints jobs submitted from 2 different Macs (10.5.7 and 10.5.8) on the wireless net. There are 2 Windoze machines on the wireless domain which have no trouble printing.
I can see the utility page from the Macs, so the connectivity is there. When I submit a print job, it shows up in the print queue, the green data light on the printer blinks, the job now is displayed in the queue as "completed." But no printing occurs.
Yes, there is paper in the printer. I can print a test page but only from the printer's control panel. The 2 Windows machines can print.
I have tried everything I can think of: removing the printer and reinstalling it, rebooting the machine, cycling power on the AE, cycling power on the printer. Nothing helps.
I run network diagnostics and get the following error message:
+Network Diagnostics was able to connect to the Internet,+
+but not to the server "HP Laserjet P2015 Series+
    +(20D501).pdl-datastream.tcp.local." This could be+
+caused by problems with the server, or an Internet+
+problem between this computer and the server.+
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Message was edited by: Micheal LeVine. Network diagnostics info added

    Problem has gone away.
    Removed printer from printer list
Shut down everything -- iMac, AE, printer, wait 5 minutes, power back on,
    added printer to list
    Everything works.

  • Linux client can't cancel print jobs in print monitor

CUPS print server on Mac OS X server 10.4
    CentOS 4.4 linux client
    - Mac OS X server and CentOS linux client on different authentication sources
The CentOS 4.4 linux client is configured for CUPS printing and pointed to the Mac OS X server CUPS print service.
The linux client can successfully print to available printers servered by the Mac OS X server.
The linux client has a print monitor. Normal user on linux client cannot cancel print jobs thru this print monitor. Selection of print job and pressing the 'cancel' button do not effect a cancel. Admin user on Mac OS X print server can cancel the job from the print server.
Is authorization required for a client to cancel a CUPS print job on the client?
Is same authentication setup required for both client and server?
    Thanks,
    -Neil

  • HP 7280 All-in=one - can you automatically print the fax log?

On my old HP, you could set a regular day for it to automatically print fax logs. I can't find that setting on the HP 7280 (Win 7 computer), and I often forget to print out a log. (and nothing appears in the fax log box from the HP Solutions Center).
Does anyone know if there is a way to set up a log auto print? Or retrieve faxes from prior to the last 30? thanks

    Hey there @MSS1 ,
I read about how you are wanting information on printing out fax logs from your Photosmart C7280.
I just wanted to respond with the information I have found. Click here and start on page 142 to read about printing the faxes in the memory. Also, I do not personally believe you can reprint faxes older than 30 days from the history.

  • Delete print job

After trying to print a file from internet the printer gets stuck and it is not possible to cancel  the print job.
It can be cancelled only by disconnecting the USB cable.
If I copy the file to WORD then there is no printing problem.
    Thanks,  Bezalel

    Hi,
You may give the HP Print and Scan Doctor a try by selecting Fix Printing, it should automatically clear any item within the print queue:

  • E-rec: Can we delete a Job Posting?

    e-rec experts,
Our users inadvertently create Job Postings in the Requisition.  We need to get rid of the unwanted postings. Is there a way to delete Job Postings.

    Hi ,
When you put the status of a posting into 'To be deleted' it will no longer appear in the requisition. But the
entry still exist in the infotype HRP5121 ( posting information ) .The status will be set to 3 ( To be deleted ) .If you want to delete an job posting from HRP5121 then the corresponding requisition also need to be set to status 'To be deleted ' .Then the administrator can delete the requisition using
    the service 'Delete Requisitions'.
