HP Connected Remote App

HP Connected Remote App on iPhone 5- Just downloaded yesterday. The only issue is it prints a pdf just fine but not Word or Excel.  Format is lost. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I think the iPhone does not read Word or Excel properly therefore it sends down wrong format. Please send to the printer email address rather than use HP Remote app.
Regards.

I don't see the HP Connected Remote app on iTunes.  Does HP realize it is not there?

OK... so you bought a HP computer... what is the model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question.
Just so you understand... the "HP Connected Remote app" available on Apple iTunes is only for Apple iPhones. This app needs to installed if, and only if, you want to stream data from your HP computer to your iPhone. You don't download this application from iTunes to install it on your HP Computer.
There is also an Android version available on Google's Play Store for Android devices.
If your HP computer came with Windows 8, it should have come with "HP Connected Remote" already installed. If not, you should be able to download the software HERE.
    Please send KUDOs

  • Connecting remote app to Apple TV

I've connected my Apply TV to my router via cable. My iMAC is connected to the router via cable as well.
I can pair my Touch with both my iTunes library and my Apple TV, but I cannot control any of them (cannot find Apply TV nor iTunes). When I enable AirPort on my iMAC I can control my iTunes from my Touch. So far so good, but Apple TV can only connect through either cable or WIFI, not both. And my Apple TV is too far away from my router to be "reliable". That's why I use a cabled solution.
Am I in a "catch 22"? Or in another word does the Apple TV have to be WIFI connected in order for it to be controlled by "remote app"?

that's right - as soon as you plug an ethernet cable into the TV, wi-fi is disabled
Maybe there is a back door:-)
there isn't any. what you're doing should work well. i have my Mac's and my TV hardwired to my TC and yet can control both iTunes and the TV using the remote app on my Touch.
i would would try a *power cycle* of all my equipment. shut everything down for @ least 15 minutes. then, in intervals of 5 minutes, turn your modem back on, followed by the router, next the TV, and last your Mac.
    any improvement ?

  • Ipod touch and apple tv loosing connection (remote app) after a few minuts

Hello, I've installed Apple Tv and everything seems to work properly. I've intalled also Remote app on my ipod touch. Unfortunately after a few mimutes playing songs (10 / 15) it simply stops. The only way to go on listening is to press the ipod button...
I've checked the settings on the ipod but I didn't find any helping point.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance!

Most likely the ATV is going to sleep or shutting down the Wi-Fi to reduce power consumption.
My ATV is connected via Ethernet and is always visible via the Remote app.

  • HT1947 Having trouble connecting Remote app to iTunes on Windows 8 system.  Cannot see devices in same network.  Is this a Windows issue?

I have a Windows 8 system running iTunes 11.0.2.26 with an iPad 3rd gen. running Remote app.  All units on the same network and subnet.  When I bring up iTunes on the windows system, I cannot see any devices, i.e. my iPad.  I can ping all connected devices including the iPad from Windows 8 box.  Is this a Win8 issue talking to iTunes?  Can't seem to crack this nut...

    Thanks for the reply.
When I use Remote Desktop and use the Public IP of the router without the port number (49250), I am able to get into the server. However, when I try to use RDP with the [Public IP]:49250, it will not connect to the 192.168.0.30 workstation.
Right now the router is program to forward port 49250 requests to the 0.30 workstation.
I am going to work on the Inbound/Outbound Firewall settings today and see if this will resolve the issue.

  • TS1741 Airplay stopped working between iPhone 5 and Apple TV. Icon no longer appears cannot connect remote app anymore either?

    Anybody have ideas why.

Most likely because your phone or your Apple TV has lost WiFI connection to your local network.  Not enough info in your post for a more specific suggestion.

  • TS1741 I am having difficulty connecting my Remote App on iPad to iTunes. It used to work fine, but with latest iTunes and latest Remote, I can't get it to work. iTunes should open a 'pop up' window to add 4 digit code, but nothing happens. Any clues plea

Would appreciate in connecting Remote App on iPad to iTunes. It used to work find, before iTunes 11.0 - but now pop up window to input  4 digit code does not appear. Any ideas how to prompt window to open on iMac? Remote App works OK, but says that Home Sharing is not Turned On, although it is. Both devices are logged into my profile account.

You no longer need the 4 digit code in iTunes 11.
    iTunes (10.0.1 or later)
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
iTunes 11 or newer: Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes by going to File > Home Sharing> Turn on Home Sharing.
iTunes 10.7 or older: Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes by going to Advanced > Turn on Home Sharing.
Connect iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the local network that your Mac or PC is also connected to.
Open the Remote app (software version 2.0 or later) on your mobile device.
Turn on Home Sharing in the Remote Settings screen. Make sure to sign into the same Home Sharing account you used to sign in to from iTunes on your computer.
Once Home sharing is enabled for both your computer and your mobile device, Remote app will be be able to view and control audio and video playback in your iTunes library.

  • TS1741 I have done everything in the Apple help artcle but my iphone 4S remote app doesn't connect to itunes, but my iPad does. Any ideas?

    Hi
My Remote app has stopped working on my iphone, I kep getting nthe message to turn on homesharing.  However homesharing is on, and it works on my iPad Any ideas, all software versions are up to date, although I haven't yet updated the iPad.  Hmmmm

I have the same thing. I couldn't get either the iPhone 4 or the iPad 2 to connect until I did a full restart of my wireless router. After doing this, the iPad connected automatically but the iPhone won't. Can't think what else to try. They are both on the same wireless network. Same apple ids being used. Nothing jailbroken, all software is up to date.

  • How do I connect the remote app on my iDevice to my computer?

I've seen this question asked plenty of times and have followed all of the suggested fixes and still cannot figure this out.
I am running Windows 8, with iTunes version 11.0.5
My iDevice is an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3
My Remote app is version 3.0.1
On the Remote app, all I see (other than the settings icon) is
"Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes on your computer or Apple TV using the account (my account name)
I have turned on Home Sharing for both iTunes, as well as my iPhone.
I have went to "Settings>Music>Turn on Home Sharing" This is on.
I have opened iTunes and went to "File>Home Sharing>Turn Home Sharing on."
I have opened the remote app. "Settings" Home Sharing is on.
Each of these are using the same Apple ID.
I have tried deleting the app and redownloading it.
I have tried restarting my computer.
I have tried exiting/signing out of iTunes.
I have tried turning my phone off, and back on again.
I have checked my firewall settings, and iTunes is allowed.
Both my PC, and my iPhone are connected to the same network. The iPhone wirelessly, and my desktop is hardwired.
I have seen many other people say "Where is the remote button?" With the reply "There is no remote button."
I have not found this button either. When I go onto the Remote app on my iPhone and go to settings, there is an option to "Add an iTunes Library."
When I press this, I get a four digit code and the message, "To add an iTunes library, open iTunes on your computer and select "Don's iPhone" from the Devices list."
When going to iTunes "File>Devices" I get the following.
Sync. Transfer Purchases. Back Up. Restore From Backup.
I have read in other related posts that your iDevice is supposed to show up on the top right of the screen, next to the iTunes Store button.
This does not happen for me, unless I plug in my iDevice via USB.
I have also read that the "Remote" button is supposed to be located here, but I cannot find one.
In the iTunes "Help>iTunes Help>Search Remote>Use the Remote app to control your iTunes library>Pair Remote with an iTunes library" It states:
Tap Remote on your device’s Home screen.
Tap Add an iTunes Library.A 4-digit code appears.
Open iTunes on your computer and click the Remote button .
Type the 4-digit code in the iTunes window.iTunes pairs the library on your computer with the Remote app on your device."
Of course, I cannot find this Remote button as mentioned before. I have run out of option on what I know to do, and what suggestions I have found to try.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Thank you for the reply.
ctrl B makes the top bar (File. Edit. View. Controls. Store. Help.) appear and disappear.
ctrl S makes a side bar appear on the left side of iTunes. It shows the library which has Music. Movies. TV Shows. Apps. Playlists. Ect.
When I did the steps you suggested, my iPhone did not show up in that list.
I checked my firewall settings again, and they seem to be okay. My firewall is the only thing that I am not 100% sure of. If I go to Control Pannel>System and Security>Windows Firewall>Allow an app through Windows Firewall. It shows that iTunes is allowed. I'm not sure if something else might need to be allowed as well though. I have a few Remote options that are not allowed such as, Remote Event Log Management, Remote Scheduled Tasks Management, Remote Shutdown, Remote Volume Management, and Routing and Remote Access. I'm not sure if any of these need to be allowed or not, or if they are even affiliated with iTunes.

  • Remote app on 3GS - wont connect no matter what i do

Hi i have two computers - a mac book pro and a tangent (supplied to me by my university). I cannot connect my remote app to either computer. I feel that it has something to do with the firewall (symantec on both computers). I have no idea how to go about changing the ports or whatever is needed, if this is even the problem. I have no idea what to do and this is seriously starting to frustrate me. I have already unistalled and reinstalled the app with no luck. If anyone knows how to fix this your input would be really helpful. Thanks.

I don't think I have the norton personal firewall - i have the symantec anti-virus tho. I also have to access our network via cisco NAC clean access agent. I feel that this has something to do with the problem because we didn't have this system last year. But my firewall is completely off under system preferences -> sharing -> firewall. I'm pretty clueless as to what else could possibly causing the problem.

  • Remote app on iPad connects to iTunes but then loses connection.

    Hi,
Basically, I can get the app on my  iPad to connect to iTunes, but if I then start doing something else on my iPad, or my computer goes to sleep, then the remote won't connect again. Even if I wake my macbook and try to connect it again.
If I press 'add an iTunes library' in the remote app, nothing appears on iTunes.
To solve the problem, I have to restart my computer.
I just checked to see if my iPhone connects and it worked straight away. Maybe its a problem with my iPad?
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    Oscar

I too have this problem and made it worse. Under Mavericks and iOS7 everything set up very easily and worked beautifully like Apple stuff usually does. Then a couple of weeks ago I took the dive and updated to Yosemite, iTunes 12 and iOS8 and then I would occasionally lose connection with my iTunes library as described by the second poster. Very aggravating. So I made a bigger mistake and deleted the library from my iPad Remote app and whenever I started it up again it would say 'Add a device'. I clicked and a randomly generated 4 digit number appears with the exact instructions: 'To add an iTunes library, open iTunes on your computer and choose Remote from the tab bar'. I went to iTunes and searched EVERYWHERE for this Remote tab bar and could not find it. I then went to iTunes Preferences: Devices and clicked the button 'Forget All Remotes' thinking this may reset something in iTunes and make the Remote tab appear somehow to start from scratch. Wrong! Now there is absolutely no connection between the Remote app on my devices and iTunes on my computer.
Can anyone point me to this Remote tab in iTunes?? If I can find that then I think I should be able to fix this.
Geez, talk about effing up what should be (and was) a very simple app.

  • Remote app on my iphone 5 will not connect to itunes

The remote app stopped working on my iphone 5 and will not connect to itunes. Home sharing is on on itunes and adding new library on my remote iphone app results in veryfying passcode results in the following message on itunes 'the pascode you have entered is incorrect'. I have the feeling that the library is already added but will not connect. Any suggestions are deeply appreciated!

I had the same problem. Reinstalled everything and still nothing. Came across this article:
5 Simple Tricks to Get iTunes to Recognize an iOS Device
    Quit and relaunch iTunes
Connect the iOS device to a different USB port on the computer
Reboot the iPhone, iPad, or iPod
    Reboot the computer
Use a different syncing cable (if possible)
I changed my syncing cable and it worked! Try that if all else is failing.

  • Remote App on IPod Touch Connect to ITunes on Win7

Is anyone having a problem making the Remote APP on ipod touch connect to ITunes on Win7 over WiFi? Itunes sees it alright, asks for a Passcode which the ipod supplies, considers it and then says it is invalid. I'm open to suggestions.

Yes it is, I click on the "Remote" button, type the passcode into iTunes, it thinks for a while then comes back and says "invalid passcode". The two are communicating or iTunes wouldn't show the "Remote" button or display the passcode entry window.

  • Remote app on ipod fails to connect to itunes 10

After upgrading to iTunes 10, my remote app on the ipod touch 4G fails to connect. I've reauthorized, which times out most times, but eventually when it works, it only continues to connect to iTunes until I close and restart the program. I've disabled all firewalls and still have the issue. iTunes 10/iPod Touch 4G/iOS 4.1/ancient remote.app do not play well together.
Anyone else unable to get the remote app working reliably with this combination?

    Hello all,
I would like to get more details from people who are still having trouble getting Remote 2.0.1 to connect. If you are unable to connect, please email me <[email protected]> with the following information:
    - A detailed description of the specific issue you are seeing.
    - What OS is on the host computer? (the one with iTunes on it)
    - What OS is on the affected iOS device(s)?
    - A description of your network topology. Please be as detailed as you can, including hardware and firmware versions, if possible. Also please explain how everything is connected.
    - Is the base station running default settings, or do you have any non-standard settings enabled? If so, please elaborate.
    - Do you have the built-in firewall enabled on the host computer?
    - Do you have any other firewall or Internet protection (anti-virus, etc) installed on the host computer?
    - Were you able to connect with versions of Remote prior to 2.0?
    - If you have multiple computers, can you get Remote to connect to any of them?
    - Does Home Sharing work between computers on your network?
    - Do you see any messages in Console (in Applications/Utilities) on the host computer that seem to coincide with the connection failures?
    Thanks,
    Roy
