  • SMO Connection Manager Not Working

I'm using SSDT 2012 to create SMO Connection Manager for transferring server objects. However the connection is not working, it always returns error message something like "server is not found". I tried to connect multiple servers, with both
Windows and SQL authentications, none of them works. I found the SMO.dll is already installed in the specific folder on my development machine. What would be the reason of this error? Thanks.
    -------Edited----------------------------------------------------
Added the error message below. I can connect the server using OLEDB or ADO.NET. So my question is, is there a service, protocol or port .... to get SMO Server ready for responding?

I see you used to connect to the local machine with the "." notation.
In this case shared memory is used, thus make sure this option is allowed.
I'd try connecting using the IP or the full name.

  • Media Manager not installing for latest Apple Mac version

Verizon Media Manager is not installing correctly on my macbook.
My apple OS version is 10.6.2.   The requirements for Verizon Media Manager is OS 1O.4 - 10.5.7. http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/UnProtected/MediaManager.aspx
Help.  How can we get Verizon to update their media manager software to support the latest OS version?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    shocklizzard,
I'm sorry that there was previously no support for Snow Leopard.  However, the latest version of MM for Mac (v1.1) includes support for that OS.
Make sure you uninstall the previous version (if you haven't already) first.
Keep us posted with your progress!!!

  • Adobe connect service not installed after setup.

    Hi
I have been trying to install adobe connect 9.2.1 on Win 2k12 server.  I have tried the install process several times logged in on a domain admin account and logging in as a local admin.  I follow the install wizard and fill out the connection details for SQL server and SMTP settings (and both appear to work) However once the installer has finished the Connect service is not installed and I am unable to proceed in configuring the connect server for our unit's use.
Is there any other thoughts/ideas as to why this is happening and any workarounds?

  • Aplple Device Manager not installing

I went to update my IPhone 5S to iOS8 I went to update iTunes (Windows 8.1) as prompted to 11.4. When doing so it rolled back during the install process and failed. It suggested reinstalling. So I used Apples kind uninstalling the 5 things in order. Did this!
Now when I go to reinstall the new version from the website, it install. Rolls back and carries on. Doing so it doesn't install the Apple Mobile Device service. When I plug my phone in ITunes recognises it but displays a message saying "The iPhone is not compatible as ITunes isn't a 64 bit copy" when it actually is. ITunes is not recognised by My Computer either.
I've tried updating drivers in "Device Management" they all fail saying MTP Device error. I did manage to get a workaround install AMDS separately from an older version in "Program Data/Apple". This removed the error from ITunes but the IPhone did not appear whatsoever and still not on My Computer. ? Searched 100's of forums and tried different methods but there is no definite answer. Tried another IPhone and the same problem occurs. I think the problem is linked to AMDS not installing and the windows drivers
Can someone please help me solve this mess?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.
In your case I suggest you start with a clean download of the setup file using the direct link. If reinstalling AMDS alone doesn't work try tearing everything down again and then install each component in turn.

If uninstalling and reinstalling is not resolving the Muse installation issues then you may want to remove all Adobe Creative software and run the CS Cleaner tool.  You can find details on the use of the CS Cleaner tool at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
There maybe another option which you can explore but this will be dependent on if you have any other Adobe Creative software installed?  Do you have any other Adobe Creative software installed on your computer beyond that which is included with the Creative Cloud?

  • Juniper networks VPN: Network Connect will not install under Snow Leopard

Created different thread based on the topics from http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2130935.
With new install of Snow Leopard i get the following when trying to log into SSL VPN "Could not launch. Please restart the web browser and try again"
can not do the workarounds from the above thread since none of the directories exist. Has anyone found a fix for this?

I ran into this too (made matters worse by cleaning out the old juniper install). What I understand clearly now, which other discussions with all the happiness from people saying they fixed it seem to miss completely: Juniper only works if you installed it prior to upgrading 10.6. If you did not, you are possibly hosed.
Now, I was hosed, but I found a workaround. Find a stand-alone installer .dmg out there. As of a couple days ago it was there. I'm sure it still is. Google it. NetworkConnect.dmg.
It is version 6.0.0. It installs correctly. My company runs 6.4.0, which means the first time you open NetworkConnect after installing it prompts you to upgrade. The upgrade worked fine, so long as I was running as root.
Which brings me to my original problem which I've not seen anyone else complain about, which has me worried: after installing, NC only actually connects and functions when I run as root. I'm not talking about su - root or using sudo, I mean having to graphically switch users and log into the computer as the root user (after enabling it...using the scenableroot I think, something like that).
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I can launch Network Connect as my real user but it immediately fails with a software error. 'ncproxyd.error: Failed to gain root privileges'. Driving me batty.

  • Wallet Manager not Installed?

For some reason, I can't seem to find the 'owm' executable on an Oracle 10.1.0.2 Standard Edition database. I have searched in the standard spots 'ORACLE_HOME/bin/owm' as well as all throughout the ORACLE_HOME but it does not seem to exist.
I don't know much about the history of the system, i.e. was it upgraded from an earlier version, but I always thought that the Wallet Manager has been a standard component since Oracle 9i. Is this not true?
I don't remember this as being an option on installation, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone know how I would go about installing Oracle Wallet Manager? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Check out the Licensing documentation -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/editions.htm#CJACGHEB
All security options are part of EE in the table. And I have a EE, standart installation, found wallet manager -
    [oracle@tcellhost db_1]$ find . -name owm
    ./bin/owm
    ./owm
    ./owm/jlib/help/owm
    ./inventory/Templates/owm
    Best regards.

  • Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect Pack not installing at all!!

I have (unfortunately) a Soundblaster X-Fi X-treme audio soundcard hooked up through an optical cable to my Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 receiver. Of course, the sound card doesn't come with a Dolby Digital decoder, so it must be purchased seperately through Creative. Well, I downloaded (and PAID FOR) the software here after viewing and MAKING SURE my f'ing card was listed: http://buy.soundblaster.com/_creativ...DDN6Z2H2ADDEZD
However, when I go to install it the installer says "setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system" then closes. So that's fantastic. No explanations, no nothing. I have a supported card, updated drivers, but the software THAT I PURCHASED FROM CREATIVE simply is not detected. Of course, finding technical support from Creative is like finding water in the desert, so I am here. Can anyone please help me with this? I am about to call my bank and deny the $5.00 transaction if I cannot get this fixed, I've been working on it for two freaking hours now. ANY HELP is greatly appreciated.

Well, I had a reply typed and clicked "reply" but of course it asked me to log in again and lost my response. It seems their forums are quite awful as well. Suffice it to say, my soundcard is listed here: http://buy.soundblaster.com/_creativ...DDN6Z2H2ADDEZD where I purchased the product. My receiver is capable of playing DVD's in Dolby Digital, and all modern games support it, so I was of the understanding that all I needed was this DTS encoder.
I was quite angry when I wrote the post, as I couldn't get it to work, their tech support is abysmal (almost non-existent) and there were literally no instructions, it simply gave me the error and booted me. I have written a complaint to the better business bureau and will never again purchase another Creative product. They can $hit on consumers all they like, but consumers like me (and daniel_k it seems) will not forget so easily.

  • E61- Blackberry Connect will NOT install on Device

    Hi All,
I have an unlocked E61. I have updated the software to 2.0618.06.05. When I installed 6.18 (Blackberry On the device (since the other one required 2.6 Firmware). BUT the application is not visible!! The updater does not update my unit to 2.6 for some reason. HELP!! I have uninstalled and tried all three of the downloads and still no help.
This is the reason I got this device. HELP

I had this same problem before I upgraded the firmware. However, after the upgrade it installed without difficulty. Are you using the new version of the software? I know it says that it's for version 2.6 something but this is what I installed on my E60 without problems.

  • Troubleshooting Connection Manager

Hey, I try to setup the oracle connection manager.
I installed the Connection via the universal installer
Then I created a cman.ora in $TNS_ADMIN with following content:
    cman1 =
    (CONFIGURATION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=172.17.12.143)(PORT=1521))
    (RULE_LIST=
    (RULE=
    (SRC=*)(DST=*)(SRV=*)(ACT=accept)
    (ACTION_LIST=(aut=off)(moct=0)(mct=0)(mit=0)(conn_stats=on))
    (RULE=(SRC=sles11-rac)(DST=127.0.0.1)(SRV=*)(ACT=accept))
    I also edited the tnsnames.ora :
    cman1 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.17.12.143)(PORT = 1521))
Then I start the connection manager:
    CMCTL> administer cman1
Current instance cman1 is not yet started
    Connections refer to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=172.17.12.143)(PORT=1521)).
    The command completed successfully.
    CMCTL:cman1> startup
TNS-04012: Unable to start Oracle Connection Manager instance.
    CMCTL:cman1>
    Where is the mistake ???

I may found the answer, might be stupid but anyway
    http://marist89.blogspot.com/2005/07/futzing-with-10g-connection-manager.html
I don´t have a listener configured. There is NOTHING in the oracle documentation which is saying that a listener is needed.
I thought cman would cover this listening process as well.
    I will try it now
Edited by: Christian on 09.07.2010 14:23
Yeah, is working now. Just installed the Oracle Net Tools and configured the listener
    +1
Thanks for this note. This was frustrating. I didn't find much on this error on the net or support, so pasting it again here:
    (EVENT=Failed to start listener process)(REASON=)(OPN=65)(NS1=12545)(NS2=12560)(NT1=515)(NT2=2)
The only reference I found to needing the listener was in the CMAN architecture doc. I'm guessing the listener is supposed to be auto-installed with CMAN. Maybe it's an OUI bug? I'm on Solaris SPARC 64bit. Anyway, for anyone else, make sure the Oracle Net Listener is selected as well as Oracle Connection Manager when installing using the client software bundle. In the default install I went through, it wasn't sufficient to have a DB listener installed in a separate ORACLE_HOME on the same host. The listener software had to be in the same ORACLE_HOME as CMAN software. Also, I didn't have to configure the listener installed with CMAN. When CMAN is started, it starts a tnslsnr process, but I didn't have to setup a listener.ora. Port 1521 is already taken on this host by another listener yet the CMAN version still started??
Side note. Tried modifying an existing EE server installation. There is a CMAN option available that wasn't selected. Observed error: OUI-10150 ... setting s_dlgCfgNamingLabelSIDnull ... That's when I found the note in the docs and on Metalink that CMAN is supposed to be installed from the client software package in 11.2.

  • Can't sync calendar ("Calendar not installed")

I have been syncing my blackberry with my Outlook 2010 calendar for a while,
Suddenly, it won't sync.   When I try to configure in Desktop Manager, "(Not Installed)" appears next to the Calendar option.  It WILL let me sync with Outlook Address book.   The only thing that has changed on my computer was installing Microsoft updates.
    Solved!

  • BT Connection Manager causing Bluescreen

Just received a BT MF636 usb mobile dongle.
Installed the BT Connection Manager and then the laptop bluescreened. Every time I load the Connection Manager, computer bluescreens and reboots itself. Usually about 5 seconds after initial load is completed.
This is on a work computer that does have things like Hard Disk encryption and possibly (unkown) monitoring software installed and restrictions on certain items installing (e.g. flash updates)
Could this be causing a conflict of some desctiption.
Is there anyting obvious I'm missing? Will try to remove and reinstall.
    Cheers!

I grasp that you are having multiple issues with your notebook, one of which is when you try to open the connection manager you get the message "HP connection manager service not installed. Application will exit.".  You also can not open folders on your desktop.
Have you checked for viruses or malware?  MS Malicious Software Removal Tool.
This is not a recommendation but many people have used Malwarebytes with success also.
Have you tried running MS Fix It  to aid with overcoming issues?
Have you tried doing a restore  back to when it was working properly?
If you still have issues I suggest you do a recovery back to factory.
HP PCs - Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7)
If you have not yet done a backup you will have an opportunity during the recovery to do one.
HP PCs - Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)
    Hope this helps!
