HP CoolSense 1.0

Hello,
please, somebody, anybody... can you upload HP CoolSense 1.0 for me ? Windows 7, 64 bit. Coolsense 2.0 onwards is useless and I NEED the QUIETEST mode back !
thanks a lot.

Sir I do apologize for not being clear enough but and i think you didnt read through that sight properly so I think this way should be easier:
HP CoolSense 1.0 came as part of the HP Support Assistant (also known as HP Thermal Assistant) software on some Windows 7 computers. Later, it was removed from HP Support Assistant version 7 through an automatic update to HP Support Assistant software. If your computer still has HP CoolSense 1.0 as part of HP Support Assistant, you can use these steps for configuration. However, it is recommended to update HPSA to the latest version and then install the latest version of HP CoolSense to bring your computer up to date.
HP CoolSense 1.0 works on supported models and is installed as part of HP Support Assistant. It is not possible to install HP CoolSense 1.0 separately.
HP CoolSense 1.0 (HP Thermal Assistant) was designed to run as part of earlier versions of HP Support Assistant. After updating to later versions of HP Support Assistant, HP CoolSense 1.0 may stop working.
Please take note to the embolded sections and underlined sentences to get a better grasp the serverity of your request. Heck maybe it is possible but you might have to go through a tech. for that to happen.

  • Where to download old HP CoolSense (1) ?

    Hello,
I have been using old HP Coolsense 1 to some degree of satisfaction. I have a Pavilion dv7 6110ec laptop with i7, which tends to run hot. But CoolSense with "Quietest" mode not only solved my overheating problems, but my laptop also ran quietly. Great for late night browsing or watching movies.
Now, after a reinstall... I cannot find working link to old HP Coolsense !
The new version (2) is rubbish, sorry. Absolutely useless. Whats point of it ? To spin fans bit more when the sensors detect some movement ? Pointless.
Now... does somebody, please, have a working link to old Coolsense ? Not happy to install HP bloat to my system, but it runs in "Performance" mode constantly... and I need it in QUIET mode.
    thank you all.

This is an only working for me version of this *khmmm* program.
7z includes Support Assistant 6, but CoolSense can't run with it. You must go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\Resources\HPThermalAssistant and manually run HPThermalAssistant.exe. I recommend install it on clean win7.
I usually create a shortcut and pin it on taskbar.
Reinstall it if it would update. Also i recommend turn off all updates, disable autorun of HP services (in Computer Management) and even block them with AV/firewall.

Share it everywhere, its really rare I had a different version some years ago, that can run CS directly through HPSA, but i reinstalled OS and lost it.
    Sorry for bad english.

  • HP CoolSense 2.0 removed and refusing to install after updating Windows on DV7 Notebook

Last year I got the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC and it had Coolsense 2.0 on it but sometime last month I updated my laptop against my better judgement and CoolSense got removed, I love to play games and it's really difficult when you're trying to play Minecraft and your laptop overheats, I can invest in a cooling pad for my laptop but I'd rather have my computer running with CoolSense and save the $30 I would spend on purchasing a cooling pad for my computer. I have tried reinstalling it many times but I get an error message which is pictured below. I know my computer supports 2.0, it's just failing to install, and to get to the area where it even attempts to install I have to go into my SWSetup folder and look for the setup files manually, other wise it just says it's preparing the installer and never installs.

Try updating the HP Software Framework. In the Windows Installer Clean Up, it shows it listed, but it is not the most recent version. The HP Software Framework is required for Coolsense to work properly.
My recommendation would be to uninstall the HP Software Framework and then install this more recent version:: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-110992-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
After installing that, try to reinstall CoolSense using the download here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-99160-1
Also, some systems have CoolSense tied to HSPA, do you know if HSPA is functioning properly?

  • Hp CoolSense disapeared after Hp Support Assistant Updated

    Hello,
today the software "Hp Support Assistant" updated itself. After that update, i lost the ability to open a program i used on a daily basis to decrease the sound of my fans: "Hp Coolsense". It is really important for me to control the temperature at wich the fans start to increase their rotation, since sometimes i maybe need for a silent computer, like when im on a School Library.
    Thank you for your time.

HP Notebook PCs - About CoolSense Technology
I did some more checking and found a reference to updating the HP Framework and check the settings in the BIOS.
While the BIOS should not have reset itself to other than what it has been set, it is possible that your Framework needs an update.  You can find the HP Framework software in your Website in Category Software - Solutions.  Looks like there is version 4.1.x on your website for your system.
If you need to do so, you can update the BIOS as well - be careful of BIOS updates: make sure you are running on AC power and make sure you follow the directions.  You do not want to make a paper weight out of your computer.  Your BIOS update is also in your computer's website...

  • Hp coolsense not working in windows 8.1 pro

Hi, I have update windows from windows 8 to windows 8.1 pro in my laptop HP Envy 4-1046TX Ultrabook. Now HP coolsense 2.2 has stopped working  and my laptop is getting shutdoun due to over cpu heat after 5-10 min. HP coolsense 2.2 is getting installed properly but not working, to cooldown cpu as its expected. Plase let me know how to resolve this issue.

    Hi,
Please first check the versions of msmpeg2vdec.dll on your and your friend’s computer.
Also, let me know if your install any Windows update or other video player which may change the version of msmpeg2vdec.dll. If so, please remove the video player temporally or restore back to the point system work fine.
If the issue persists, let’s try to replace this file:
To replace the dll file, we need to take ownership of this file and change it. Please make backup to avoid unexpected results.
Take ownership and replace system files:
    1. Take administrative ownership of the corrupted system file. To do this, at an elevated command prompt, copy and then paste (or type) the following command, and then press ENTER:
    takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
Note The Path_And_File_Name placeholder represents the path and the file name of the corrupted file. For example, type takeown /f C:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.
    2. Grant administrators full access to the corrupted system file. To do this, copy and paste (or type) the following command, and then press ENTER:
    icacls Path_And_File_Name /GRANT ADMINISTRATORS:F
Note The Path_And_File_Name placeholder represents the path and the file name of the corrupted file. For example, type icacls C:\windows\system32\jscript.dll /grant administrators:F.
    3. Replace the corrupted system file with a known good copy of the file. To do this, copy and paste (or type) the following command, and then press ENTER:
    Copy Source_File Destination
Note The Source_File placeholder represents the path and file name of the known good copy of the file on your computer, and the Destination placeholder represents the path and file name of the corrupted file. For example,
    type copy E:\temp\jscript.dll C:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.
Did your GraphEDT work fine now?
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • HP CoolSense not supported

    Hi,
I have problem with laptop temperature. The temperature of processor and graphic card goes over 80 deegres. I cleaned computer from dust, reinstalled windows, installed all drivers and support assistant. I tried to dowload HP CoolSense which I used to have on previous Windows. Now, when I tried to install it, i got message "Your product does not support HP CoolSense."
    I have Pavillion g7 1008-em, Windows 7 Home premium, product number LF091ES#BED.
Why can't I install HP CoolSense?

Thank you for answer, but it didn't help.
I still can't install HP CoolSense 2.0. I used to have HP Support Assistant 1.0. before I reinstalled Windows, so refering to this: " If your computer originally came with any version of HP CoolSense software pre-installed, your computer has the hardware necessary to support HP CoolSense Technology." I should be able to install HP CoolSense 2.0. on my notebook.
Furtheromore, according to what I written before, I couldn't find the answer for the issue on the link you posted.
Is there maybe a driver or other software requrement I should install before installing HP CoolSense?

  • Hp coolsense wont install properly

Can someone help me. My coolsense started not working properly when i open it up saying that my laptop doesn't support it when in fact i had been using it for months already. i read in a topic here that it's in support assistant but it doesn't work there as well. i tried reinstalling support assistant but now coolsense wasn't included in it. i tried installing hp coolsense directly but it doesn't work as well. Please i need a solution for this. just cleaned my laptop and i want to keep my fans working efficiently since i do gaming a lot

    Hi,
Which installation program are you refering to?
If it was the stand-alone CoolSense utility, it may well be that your notebook doesn't support this and only supports version 1 which is implemented from HPSA - only the later version of CoolSense can use the stand-alone utility.
If you get the windows installation error message again, let me know what it says.

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC, CoolSense Nonsense -- Laptop Hot

Every since I upgraded to Windows 10, my HP Evy 17 (Model: E1P14AV) has been running hot. I'm not talking about the heat that of course would come from heavy use -- I'm talking about a laptop that's just sitting on a desk, doing nothing. It's hot enough that when you place the back side of your hand, you will react to it if you don't realize how hot it is. I contacted support about this, via Twitter, and was told that CoolSense is not compatible with Windows 10 and that to avoid issues, I should uninstall this and let BIOS pick up the default cooling for the laptop. I feel absolutely no air being pulled out of from the vent. I think the only saving grace and reason why the computer hasn't shutdown on me is becuase it is next to an air conditioner vent AND I have it on a stand that allows air flow underneath. This is what was said to me with regards to this: "If the fan does not get loud when the system gets hot, CoolSense is not working. It's job is to fluctuate RPMs based on heat 1/2" "inside the system. No Win 10 version of CoolSense is available. Try uninstalling existing version so BIOS runs fan. 2/2" Could someone please address this issue, as it seems that I am but one of MANY people with this problem. And yes, the vents are clean, the inside is clean, and the laptop is still covered under it's original warrenty -- so it's not even old. I have an i5 Asus and there are no issues with that computer whatsoever. One would think that with an issue this hot -- HP would have put some sort of statement instead of just not responding to folks on here.

Remove the battery and connect the power adapter. If the power\charging led is lit,  then the power adapter is working as it should.
Try a hard reset as follows:
    1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
    3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
    4) Press the power button
Please post your positive or negative results here in your thread.
Contact HP for warranty service if a hard reset shows no improvement.
The next time you come to the forum please identify your notebook with more than just the model series. The Envy 17 model series encompasses many notebooks.

  • HP Coolsense 1.0 on Windows 10

Hello, i've upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro, and my HP Coolsense 1.0 stopped working on it.
I show a screen of the error (It says: HP Coolsense is not supported on this computer)
    Is there a solution?
NB: I would to install HP coolsense 1.0 .x and not 2.x

I have CoolSense 2.2 but didn't update to Win 10 yet. Will it still work after the update?Looking forward for an answer. Cheers.

  • Hp CoolSense

Please I used to have hp CoolSense on my windows 7 PC (hp dv6). The fan on my PC happened to stop working and I had it replaced by a PC enginner. When I got my PC back I realised the fan is now constantly on high speed making much noise. I feel the coolsense software might have a problem and decided to wait for the windows 10 upgrade to see if the new windows will resolve the issue. After the upgrade, I realised that my fan is still spinning fast and won't slow. I have tried severally to install the latest version of coolsense (HP CoolSense version 2.2) but the install seems never to complete because I never get any message as an indication that the installaton was success. Also I have tried searching for coolsense using the system search tool but still cannot find the hp cool sense icon so I could turn it on. Please I would appreciate help from anyone who can help me with this because my computer is tool noisy.

Hi there ,  I double checked and as of right now I do not see a BIOS update for your product. I did however come across a document called  HP Products - What If I Don't See My Operating System? Please read over this document.  Windows 10 drivers may be available through Windows Update - Please use Windows Update to determine what drivers might be available for your product.  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase or that need updating. The HP Support Assistant uses a compatible driver for your Notebook. The other option you have is to rollback to Windows 7 until more driver's are available in Windows 10. Under the Windows 7 column on your Notebook's Driver's Page, there is a BIOS update available. Using the Support Assistant should pull the most compatible update.  You could also use the following link to create yourself a case number and Contact Us:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number
Case number and phone number appear.
They will be happy to assist you immediately. Have a great day!

  • [Solved]HP Coolsense

I was just wondering if there is any equivalent software for controlling cpu fan speed as "HP Coolsense" in Windows.
I've found an equivalent to "Hp 3d drive guard" which is hpfall (have to install from AUR).
Please let me know the same for HP Coolsense.
    Thanks in advance.
