HP customer service stinks. It is not what it used to be...

I am having to write this again but I think it's well worth letting people know.
I paid for an expensive HP Pavilian DV 5000Z in 2006 customized with a expansion base total was $1300. Pricey stuff but I said I also wanted the good customer service that HP supposedly had.
Well it was pretty good because in the first month the optical drive I designed died.
That notebook would still be working well for me (I added a 1 gig memory stick about three years later) but all my high end electronics were stolen in a burgarly Jan. 13, 2012.
 It was a tough hit. Like a fool, though, I bought a busienss probook 4530s with an intel 5 and two months to the day on March 24 the hard drive died. Then these bums could only send me a new hard drive an expect me to install it. Mind you I can hardly understand the guy from India all these calls for help are outsourced that is number one problem. Then when the item arrived, the screw was  missing for me to remove (gee maybe that's why the hard drive went so fast) I baby my computer equpment, otherwise a 2006 Pavilian wouldn't be going strong in 2012
anyway I called again and begged please just send me a new notebook. Something is wrong with this one.
The so-called customer servicd woman "Fernanda" in Costa Rica blew me off. Best she could do is have my notebook send away for a **bleep** five to seven days and I am losign money.
 I use this  notebook for business.
 i had to turn down an order ffom Sweden and now what the hell am i to do?
 The lesson here is that HP has gone downhill. I wish I neve rbought another HP ever I could have gotten an intel-5 or 7 even from Sony, or Toshiba.
Never again and I am writing this as a warning to everyone. This is not the same cmopany it used to be.
 I despise how they've treated a good customer who has bought THREE THREE THREE printers from them over the years, an expabnsion base for $240 and an extra adapter and a notebook case that was expensvie not like these cheap pvc things.
 They know the price of everything, the value of nothing.
 any company that can't see fit to treat a customer like me better isn't worth anyone's time.
I want to return this, and get a notebook from sony or toshiba.
 You suck HP. You may have been good way back when but the stress I've been through and am going through now because of you {Content Removed} isn't worth it.

Spent hours with Customer Service, then finally up to Management, they agreed to take it back and void the contact, I sent it back immediately – and instead of voiding the contact they transferred it to my MIFI! Please cancel the contract on the MIFI. 2.  During the short time I had the Jetpack I continually received overage alerts, took it all the way up to 30 GB, each time I backdated the new data plan except twice when customer service did and failed to back date the increase, and once the computer locked customer service out and could not increase.  The end result is I have a $495 bill, many of these alerts were false since I ended up with only 14 MG for the month, etc.  I am asking that my bill be reduced significantly to reflect no overage and to compensate for these problems. Please open up a ticket for this.

    I had Verizon JetPak and you will find it will eat data like crazy. I opted to sign on to ATT Uverse and configured my phones and other devices to the WiFi on the Uverse system. It took about 5 minutes to completed the configuration.  I was using 10 to 12 GB monthly to support 5 devices. Even if you use Verizon DSL, you are still subjected to same GB allotment.  In my area, Verizon DSL is not available. With Uverse, I have 250 GB monthly to use, and I have not even come close to using anything of that magnitude. I reduced my GB package with Verizon to 2 GB per month and since having ATT Uverse, I never use more than 1GB a month with Verizon.
    I have no problem with Verizon cell phone service as we get a much stronger signal where we live than you can with ATT or any others.  It is just my opinion, but if you are running multiple devices off Verizon Jetpak, you will eventually spend a fortune to keep pace.  I pay $60 a month for 18 Mbps speed, although ATT have packages that cost much less. But, it saves me a bundle each month. The cost of Uverse alone is worth not having to run everything through a Jetpak.  
    If you have the  option to use another DSL service provider in your area, I recommend dumping the Jetpak and sign on with another carrier.

    One of our phones broke down and we quickly needed to put an older phone back in service, so we headed out to the corporately owned AT&T store to get the larger SIM we needed to use the old phone. We got there 10 min before closing time. The greeter at the door, I think was the store manager, who took our names and our number and warned us that there were 5 people in front of us, "so we may not get to you today." I explained we had traveled 30 min to get to this store and that we only needed a SIM card, and as a robot he repeated "like  I said, we may not get to you today". I remember him because he has been with AT&T and on previous ocassions he was friendly and pro-active. We walked around a bit to look at the new phones, and sat down to watch people. We were now almost 15 min past closing time, and of the 5 associates we had seen when we walked in, only 2 were servicing customers. Strange! Just before 8:30 PM we were the last ones helped, due to only needing the SIM card we were done within in minutes. I explained I had been in retail sales and told him I understood that after a long day you want to go home on time, so I thanked him for sticking with it. We were walked to the door by the security guard, and I noticed she was carrying a gun. What the   is a security guard in a phone store doing with a gun? On second thought, customers service is not what it used to be, and we pay on time. Judging by the horror stories on here, I can see that some would get upset. Strange.

    Have you ever tried to call a specific store?
         I've gotten just a recording in the past.  Unfortunately, the nearest Apple store is well over a 1.5 drive for me.
    My story on an iPhone 4S upgrade to iOS8 is somewhat incredulous;  all of a sudden the phone crashes (which it never did before the upgrade).  The Apple Tech said their diagnostics indicate the battery needs replaced.  But this is probably off-topic.

    I get this message on two different machines installing SQL2014 developer edition, a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 machine. Both machines have SQL2005 through SQL2012 developer machines installed and working great. I have tried uninstalling all SQL2014 stuff and
    installing again making sure I was running as an Administrator to no avail. 
    How do I look at sys.key_encryptionswhen the server will not start to finish installation?
    The links in the log only provide the  "We're Sorry" message.

    Hi Tom,
    Sorry for the delay. We can exclude the media factor since you were able to install it on VM with this media.
    If I understand correctly, Shanky said “Abve message can also appear due to corrupt profile so deleteting old profile and creating new one and using this to install would also help.Make sure you always RK on setup.exe and select run as administrator” which
    means your user account may be corrupted rather than the Virtual account. You can create a new Windows user account and use it to log into the system. Then, re-try the installation.

  • BT Customer services are useless no help what so e...

    Hi
    i was BT customer Account number *A/C no. removed. till today and now found out my account is closed??
    i join BT in JULY 2013 as BT phone and broadband customer and then in august 2013 i found out that my phone line is shifted to some other company XLN telecom without my permission and i ring BT and told them i donot want to go to any other company and like to stay with bt and customer service team told me they sort out the problem and i dont have to worry.
    the i call again in october and told them no action is taken with my complain and they advise me to place the order to seitch the line to them and i done that and got the order ref no *removed for security and it was going to be activated on 6th of november 2013.and i thought ok some thing is solved then 2days ago my broadband stop working and i try to get answer from bt but no joy.and today in the morning got the email from bt telling me my brond band is going to shif to other provider and if i wan to stop contact them by 2pm .i ring BT customer services around 11am and they told me my account is closed and they canot do any thing i have to place new order for both phone and broad band.i told them i didnot give permission to anyone to shift my services but only answer get they cannot do any thing.BT took money from my account and that time they are happy to do but donot want to help.
    i am very frustrated and unhappy with bt .i lost lot of business by not having broadban because i work from home online.

    Terrible technical support - no replies in the forums. The online chat people dont know crap and mainly only are there for sales. We had considered using this platform with our 100+ clients but I seriously doubt it now with the lack of REAL customer service like other hosting companie can offer.

    I have actually experienced the opposite - great customer service/support. Keep in mind that these are user to user forums not actual tech support. Although we are very lucky to have much of the BC staff participating.

  • Customer service - Online chat (anyone know what happened to it)?

    Because I don't think it is healthy for me to call Adobe support any longer (bottling up anger, frustration, rage, etc... is dangerous for one's health). Actually, I am usually a calm/jovial person, that is, until I began this Captivate 4/Connect Pro project. But after the last few tech 'support' calls to Adobe, I am worried that this faking politeness may be affecting my health.
    Anyhow, I thought I would try out my luck with the Adobe chat system. I have had successes in the past with this service. Unfortunately, I noticed that for the longest time, the chat system has been unavailable with the message:
    OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALISTS ARE OFFLINE NOW. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.

    i already buy Lenovo G430 145 less than a month ago. in the warraty card there is a phone number for customer service in Indonesia 001 8030 601 2003 toll free. i try to call that number because i have alot of questions about my laptop and warranty procedure. however i cannot connect to that number at all.and then i search in lenovo site, the phone number still same.

    I don't really understand your HA configuration. Is this a 2 nodes cluster ? If yes why is there only one alias.
    I use a SAP R/3 4.7 system running on a Windows 2003 MSCS cluster.
    We have 2 DNS aliases for it : one for the SAP CI and one for the Oracle database.
    Each of these 2 DNS aliases has its own virtual IP address.
    example : sapalias.domain.xx for SAP CI
                    dbalias.domain.xx for oracle DB
    The icm/host_name_full parameter is set to sapalias.domain.xx
    To be able to use BSP applications, we have to use the FQDN in the URL.
    Like : http://sapalias.domain.xx:port/sap/bc/bsp/sap/z_mybsp
    On a dual stack system, usually you use the ABAP HTTP port in all URLs and it is the job of the ICM to direct the processing to the abap stack (all URLs beginning with /sap) or to the java stack (all other URLs).

  • Absolute horrible customer service!!!! I cannot use a product I've already paid for and no one is helping!!!!

    So I have been a longtime Adobe customer. I have nearly every version of the creative suites, with all the bells and whistles and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on these products for our business as well as personal use. SO.....we just upgraded the OS on our primary editing bay, and I found that I needed to reinstall the Premiere Pro 5.5 upgrade to the system that I purchased online a couple years back. I go to access my online account, and it said that I needed to reset the password, but the problem is that the email that was used is not turned off and I have no way to access.
    Thinking that this was not a big deal, I contacted support via the chat system. The first person told me he could not help at that time, and while asking a follow up question he (or she) cutoff the chat. I immediately started another chat. The next agent stayed on, but also said that they could not anything, but they would escalate it to the next group up, and that they would transfer the account to my current email address. That was nearly 3 weeks ago.
    I have since received emails nearly daily apologizing for the delay (a form letter) in resolution. Then I got another email saying I needed to write a letter saying what I wanted, and that should take care the problem. So....I did. Then I got another email.....this time saying that the letter was not enough, and that I would have to add a scanned image to the letter of my government issued ID. I replied, indicating my patience has run out after 3 weeks, but sent the letter again as requested. And guess what??? Today I get another email with an apology, and that it would be escalated to another group to see if they could do it.
    This is not acceptable in any way. I have to get my keys to the 5.5 upgrade as its using the trial version right now since I can't login to get my keys....and NO ONE AT ADOBE IS ABLE TO DO A THING ABOUT IT.  How hard is it to change the access email to ones account, or have it transferred to the new one. (I had to sign up for a new account with the correct email just to post on the forums).
    SO PLEASE.....if there is a competent person left there, that can take care of this problem please do. I just need my purchases attached to this account!!!! . I will have no choice but to start seeking a legal remedy within the next 48 hours is not resolved. I have a project that has to be completed, and due to this incompetence I can't use a product I have already paid for. It should never take nearly 3 weeks for this to be resolved.

Clearly whomever is handling the general customer service, in whatever country they are in really do not care or even have a process to follow. They just clear their cue apparently so that they make their personal numbers. (I was formerly a tech support manager for one of the large PC and peripherals producer....so I am familiar with some of these antics, though we would have fired someone for something like this). Given how much I have paid to Adobe for their products over the past ten years as a business owner it a shame that this is not getting resolved.

  • Lenovo Partner here, your customer service stinks. Alternativ​e options for resellers?

    We're a Lenovo partner in Southern Ontario Canada, with the certificate and all that, and we've been selling many Ideapad branded products for some time now due to the price point and the seemingly durable build quality compared to products from other manufacturer's.
    Unfortunately your post-sales tech support stinks compared to what we receive with our competatively priced alternatives like HP ProBook or Acer Travelmate. Your support representatives care less about what anyone feels about the Lenovo brand and more about... well, I'm not sure what they care about but it's not the customer and it's not Lenovo.
    Are there any alternative contacts for resellers that don't lead to these overseas people? Even an escalation to supervisors leads to a person that doesn't care about the misinformation previously provided.

    The fact that we haven't received a response to this post within a 2 week period shows how much Lenovo actually cares for the channel and the people that purchase their products, which is the same experience customers receive when they call into Lenovo.
    I'm ashamed to refer to our company as a Lenovo partner and it's unlikely we'll sell another Lenovo product again.

    I have been on hold with Adobe for 45 minutes or more, three times today. And, that is AFTER
    I received the call back saying you will now be connected to a support rep.  What is the problem
    with their supoort service?  Its like no one is home but they just left the voice mail on.

    What happens when you attempt the download? I get the first dialog box and I hit Save. According to the instructions after the security check a dialog box will open and I am to hit Run and the download will begin. I see where there is a striped bar as it completes the security check but when it is complete, nothing else happens. No dialog box, no notification of additional time or info needed, nothing.

  • Spotlight still not what it used to be...

    In Tiger, spotlight gave you a nice neat list of the search results split into different sections depending on the document type. This was great for searching images because it'd also give you thumbnails instantly just for the images. Since Leopard, the search results in Spotlight are so much worse (see here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6435106&#6435106)
    I was hoping that Snow Leopard's Spotlight would revert to the old layout but alas, no. You have a long list of jumbled files. Obviously these can be sorted or refined but this requires additional search terms/refinements and additional clicks to order the list etc. To put into thumbnail view you have additional clicks also and it works on all the files, not just the images. This is frustrating because I used to use Spotlight a lot. I'd add tags to the file info which would make image searching blissfully easy. Now, I basically never use it.
    But I was wondering would it be so difficult to add a little additional functionality such that when I do a search using Spotlight, if I then, say, Apple-Click on the images sub-section on the drop-down it would open the search window with all the images as thumbnails? If I just single click, it'd still open the image I'm clicking... Does this make sense? And rather than just working on images, Apple-Click on any of the subsections and it'll open an instantly refined search for only those file types...
    If anyone knows a way of doing this I'd be very grateful to know. More than that, if no-one knows how to do this, could someone point me in the direction of a features-request form to suggest it to Apple? It seems to me that it'd be very useful and a simple addition to the OS.

    I understand this... what you're describing is exactly the refinement aspects I described previously. But saving a search does literally that - it saves a particular search (e.g. "holiday" images) rather than a search environment (such as 'only show images and display as thumbnails') that you can then perform other searches within (e.g. "holiday" or "London" etc.).   • Battery  Life not what it used to be.

    My iPad went dead and Apple gave me a replacement. The battery on the new pad does not last nearly as long as the old one. Is there a way to test the capacity? If the capacity is low will Apple replace it? It's still under warranty.

  • Airplay with Apple TV not what it used to be

    Before iOS 8 I was able to stream from the iphone to Apple TV without using the mirroring toggle. The icon used to show up in the video screen down on the bottom right corner. Ever since the update, its gone and I have to mirror the phone which doesnt allow me to do anything but stream the movie. I cant check any messages that go off or exit the screen because it will exit the movie. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to get the Airplay icon back on the bottom or send it to the TV without using mirroring?

    You and I have the same iOS version on our phones but your ATV is one generation newer which I don't think should make any difference. On my phone I swipe up and choose AirPlay > Apple TV. I then choose a video and the greyed video control screen says 'The Video is Playing on Apple TV'. As the video continues to play on the TV I can click the phone's home button and choose any app and use all the while the video keeps playing on TV. My guess is maybe you have a software glitch on the phone. Have you done any troubleshooting like resetting your phone or restoring it?
