HP D017TU Laptop - Windows Help ans Support window started popping up and i can't get ride of it

Just purchased a brand new HP D017TU Laptop so nothing been done with it. I installed windows 7 on my HP D017TU laptop. it was working fine.
Then 2 days ago the Windows Help ans Support window started popping up and now I can't get ride of it.
I have tried the following things to get ride of the issue,
1) Format windows 7 os
2) Delete All partition and re-create
3) Re-install windows 7
Does anyone know how I can stop this happening.

Hello SaravSB, welcome to teh HP Forums.
I see that you're having an issue where the Windows help and support is popping up. I will try to help you with this.
I've looked into this for you, it seems this was an issue from back when Windows 7 launched. Any "solutions" also seemed to vary user to user. You may want to try contacting Microsoft for support on this. I was able to find a couple of posts off the answers.microsoft.com forums.

Hello
I found a simple yet effective solution for this problem, my friend had the same issue so instinctively as a technician, I suspect this was a malware of somekind so I re-formatted and installed Win7 funny it's still there, so I did a Hard disk wipe using Dalvik's and re-partitioned and formatted again, to my surprise it still have the same problem.
So I ask Mr. Goo' old Mr. Google for answer, but I've found more complications, sorry for the story, so without further a do, the solution.
Boot to safe mode. (may also work in "normal mode")
Go to Task Manager>
Click the Services Tab>
Right click "HelpPane.exe" or Help and support service>
Select Properties>
Click the Security tab>
Click the Advanced tab (for permissions options)
Then select the "permissions entries" one at a time>
Click Change Permissions>
Then click Edit>
CLEAR ALL THE CHECK BOX FOR ALL ENTRIES
This should prevent access to the HelpPane.exe to all users/programs.
This resolved my friends Windows 7 "Help and Support thingy" issue, hope it does yours too.
Message me for questions and/or clarifications/corrections.
Thank you"

To fix the problem of the help pane appearing everytime you start windows do the following:
1. Run 'msconfig'
2. Go to the 'Startup' tab
3. One of your 'Startup items' is causing the pane to appear and you are going to have to find out which one it is!  Untick ALL the items and reboot.  The help pane will not appear harrah!  Rather than adding the Startup Items back in one at a time and rebooting a hundred times, tick half the programs back in and reboot.  You can find the culprit in about 5 reboots if you do it logically and add/remove half/quarter etc at a time.
4.  Finally you will be left with all your Startup items ticked and the guilty program unticked (and that annoying help pane will no longer be appearing)
5. Now delete the guilty Startup Item from the registry (which will also remove it from the msconfig startup tab.
6. Open 'regedit'
7. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg and delete the guilty program folder.  BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST!
8.  You're welcome."
Both of those, as well as other steps are located in this thread: Windows 7 "Help and Support" keeps popping up.
You could try those suggestions and even give that thread a read over, other wise the best option would be contacting Microsoft as stated above.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • I believe a website has attached itself to Firefox, such that once a day when I bring Firefox up, it opens a window with it's website and I can't get rid of it.

In the morning, after I bring up the computer (An Apple), I launch Firefox. Inevitably, another window opens up behind the Firefox window with advertisements. It goes by "Pulse 360" and if you Google it, people are always complaining about how to get rid of it. It's possible it's not connected to Firefox, but it always comes up after I launch it, even if I have used other applications prior to Firefox. I would reinstall Firefox, but hate to lose all the bookmarks I have. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Multiple windows open up in one browser. I drag and dropped websites to the taskbar and now can't get rid of it.

I thought it would be convenient for 3 windows to open automatically in one browser. It slows my laptop down and I want to be able to click on Firefox and have just one window open. Any ideas how to fix?

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • When I use firefox as my browser I keep getting the error message "uninstal set" Java script. This is extremely annoying and I can't get rid of it. It pops up every time i go to a different page. My OS is Windows Vista.

This has just started since I upgraded my firefox.

Other users have reported that this is caused by one of their add-ons. I suggest going to the Add-ons page and disabling everything that is not essential, and then restarting Firefox. Hopefully it's not caused by something you really rely on.

  • Babylon search??? has attached to my firefox and I can't get rid of it. There is a back tab with firefox and a front and dominant one with babylon. Help

i have no clue what babylon search is. it has taken a tab in front of firefox. i am terryfied since I use your browser for sensitive info.

Any search toolbar and changes to search engines can take place by downloading and installing software; usually "free" software from the internet. Babylon can be downloaded and installed by itself or as a "ride-along" when installing/updating some software from the internet. Always look for an opportunity during the installation to un-check boxes that will install "ride-along" items that you do not want. Firefox installation does not include such "ride-along" items.

  • HELP!!! I've fallen and I can't get up!

This is insane-- itunes support has been no help in this matter, so hopefully someone can help me.
I woke up on sunday morning to multiple instances of fraud on my itunes account-- most were charged through paypal & they have been very helpful in taking care of my issues. I also sent an email to itunes support and finally received a response an hour ago-- of course, since it said to contact your credit card company and change your password, these things were done 2 days ago and is totally useless advice now.
HERE'S MY PROBLEM: 12 hours after I reported the fraud, 3 more purchases were made- but since I had canceled my billing with paypal, they are showing as an outstanding balance on my account. I cannot reinstate the billing agreement without paying this balance & I cannot purchase even free items from itunes or get updates because support locked my account with no information about reinstating it except to "provide information to support"

Your topic title made me laugh. Good to see you've got a sense of humor about this, because you're going to need it.
Unfortunately there are quite a few posts exactly like yours - interim purchases made by a hacker after the true account owner has cancelled a credit card (or in your case, the PayPal agreement). There ends up being a balance due.
itunes support will insist you pay the outstanding balance, apparently.
However nobody in their right mind is going to sign another PayPal agreement or put another credit card on the account just so they can go through some more dispute hassles with the CC company or PayPal!
If this ever happens to me, I would continue to go to itunes support and ask to have my case escalated, or assigned to a manager. Apple needs to deal with this. Some folks here on AD will tell you just to make a new store account but as you pointed out, you won't be able to get the free app updates you're entitled to.
Don't start a new case. Keep every email from apple and always reply to that same email chain so you will have a complete record.
Best of luck dealing with Apple and I'm interested in how your story turns out.

    Help,
I think I have Macvx on my iMac late 2012 21.5 running the latest OS.
I am getting heaps of ads in my web browser.
I have seen similar question from other people and responses explaining to find and search for it in your applications menu but I can't find anything that relates to it or that was installed recently.
I have even looking in the library and through spotlight search searching the specific words Macvx and Vidx.
    Please help,

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.

    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on

from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.

  • Upgraded to Firefox 19 on my iMac and got Malaware/Depslear-B and I can't get rid of it. Can you help me?

I up-graded my Firefox to Firefox 19, on my iMac, and when I went to log on to my work's e-mail, I found out that I was the target of Malaware/Depslear-B according to Sophos which I downloaded with the approval of my work IT guy. The problem is that Sophos is not working correctly so now I can't get the malaware out. This situation is only taking place while I'm in Firefox. When I use Safari, nothing appears to be impacted by the Malaware/Depslear-B issue. If I go to through my Parallels and operate in the Microsoft world, there are no problem either.
