Hp D330.audio driver installed but no voice.plz help.

i hav hp d330, X86 based PC with O.S wp pro.sp2.
i installed bios update , networkind [lan card] drivers and they worked fine.
I also download n installed Soundmax drivers one by one from
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=342068&p...
but even after installed correctly [also showing "soundMAX integrated digital audio" in device manager] no voice heard by headphones[i dont hav speakers].
head ph is correct n working fine on tv. i hav checked all basic stuff "mute " etc. but still no vice.
plz give some advice.

First right-click on sound icon in systray(lower right in area where the clock is) then open mixer and check to see that the mute all box does not have a check mark in it, If it does select it to remove the check mark and adjust the volume. Try something that produces sound.
Second(if mute was not checked) Go to Conrol Panel --> Sound --> next to the audio icon there should (in parentheses) be the name of your onboard sound chipset device. in volume, mute should not be checked. Go to Audio tab (select at top) and in standard sound device your chipset audio device should be selected as the standard output devive and not greyed out. You should see the same in recording device. In Speech tab you should also see your chipset device selected for both.
Please post what you found and your results.

SetupApi.dev.log error message on driver install, but driver runs fine anyway... why?

I am trying to run down the cause of the following warning/error message I see in my SetupApi.Dev.log file after I install a commercially signed driver.
!    sig:           Verifying file against specific (valid) catalog failed! (0x800b0109)
!    sig:           Error 0x800b0109: A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.
I see this error against all the files in the driver package, but the driver operation has so far been just fine.
I have checked the certificate chain for the driver (there are 3 certificates in the chain: a root, an intermediate, and the code signing certificate I purchased, all from Verisign/Symantec), and compared the root and intermediate certificates against ones
that are already installed on the machine where I installed the driver.
Using the MMC, I can see:
- the root certificate is located at:         Console Root->Certificates-Current User->Trusted Root Certification Authorities->Certificate
- the intermediate certificate is located at: Console Root->Certificates-Current User->Intermediate Certification Authorities->Certificate
- the code signing certificate is located at: Console Root->Certificates-Current User->Trusted Publishers->Certificates
This all seems to make sense to me for as much as I've been able to research from the MSDN, so would there be some reason why this message shows up, yet the driver seems to install and operate correctly anyway?
I am using VS 2012 Pro on top of Windows 7 (x64) Pro SP1 to perform the driver build and code signing.

I really appreciate your looking at my problem.
I did some more digging and contacted VeriSign/Symantec for some assistance and learned
I had a few things set up improperly with respect to my code signing certificate.
VeriSign pointed me to a few links to straighten out my code signing certificate's chain of trust on
my code-signing machine, and then they also pointed me to a couple links similar to the one
Bryan provided here for the cross-signing certificate I needed.
The links are provided below for reference (in case somebody else can make some use of them too)
1. Disable root cert, so my certificate's signing chain of trust shows up:

I'm building/signing this for Release, on a Windows 7 x64 platform. I am doing this using the
Windows 8 WDK and VS 2012 Professional. It's a nice combination, as it automates the driver
signing process.
My driver is a package of files, and is signed with a CAT file.
I wanted to be sure the files were signed correctly, so I ran "signtool" over each file in the package
to verify the signing is correct. I've included the output from one of the files here. Save the filename,
the output is identical for each file in the package.
The signing certificate chain shown below matches my code-signing certificate chain when I examine it
using the MMC-certificate snap-in.
The cross certificate chain shown below is identical to the output from the VS 2012 IDE. Note the MFST X-signing
certificate is in this chain from step 3 above, it's the second one from the top in the chain.

As best as I can tell, this follows the kernel mode signing walkthrough doc, and assuming
VS 2012 is doing the signing correctly, the driver package should have been signed correctly.
The problem is, I still see the same error on the target machine.
I've tried manually installing the code signing certificate in the target's Trusted Publisher Store,
prior to installing the driver, but this does not keep the error from showing up.
I honestly have no clue why. If the driver package files check out OK with the signtool on the signing
machine, I'm at a loss for why the error shows up on the machine where I'm installing the driver.
One other thing that is different is the code signing certificate's certification path When I insepct
it on the target machine. It appears to have a different Root and (only one) intermediate certificate.
The Verisign folks said this is "OK" because different machines have different certificates. I'm not
sure I'm buying this statement. Does it make sense to you guys?
The folks at VeriSign also told me I do not need ANY of the certificates used in signing the driver to
be installed on the target machine. Does this make sense to you guys? I'm a little skeptical about
that assumption too, but I haven't found any information on line to confirm or negate it.
I'm really no further along in determining why I'm getting this error on my target machines.
Does anything here look out of place to you?
I'm half tempted to manually sign the driver package to is there's something going on inside the VS 2012
IDE that could be causing this.

Have you tried using HP Support Assistant to download the drivers for your notebook? This application can normally locate most drivers which your notebook needs.

No audio driver installed

i have a pavillion dv9605ea on vista,after doing an update ive lost all sound. computer says there is no audio device installed. there is a red x on the sound icon. ive tried all the solutions i could find on the net and on the hp site and none have worked. there is no sound,game option in the device manager and when i tried downloading a new driver from the hp site it says it could not install as there is no media device found.i have tried system restore and a full recovery to no avail. what do i do now? It's OK. I finally got Reader XI installed. But once installed, the program would then lock up and show an error message whenever I tried to open any of my existing PDF docs. So I finally just gave up and deleted Reader XI from my system. Fortunately, my existing version of Reader seems to work just fine. Maybe I'll try again later after Adobe has worked out the kinks with Reader XI. But thanks anyway for responding--no further help needed now. I'm out.

Do you get an error message.
Was your phone ever locked to a different phone carrier?
When you can't activate, usually means your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlocked it, then when you updated the IOS it locked back to the original carrier.

Speaker "no audio devise installed" but nothing has changed and my connections are secure.

"No audio output device is installed" appears when I click on speaker on lower right of the screen. Nothing has changed on the computer. I have always had the speakers plugged into the right place, the speakers are plugged into the wall but I get no sound.

Can you list make and model number of pc and OS used? See if you can get to device manager and see if sound driver has been disabled . If it has there will be a red x or yellow exclamation point on driver. Right click on driver and enable.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit) fresh install, only WLAN and video driver installed but EXTREMELY slow internet connection...

I recently checked my internet connection on my Asus G53SW and found that it was extremely slow on both the LAN and WLAN connections. I checked with a different laptop (old HP Pavilion) and I get a steady 74mbps+ connection using the same LAN cable and
also with the WLAN connection. My ISP has checked their side and everything is fine.
To try and resolve the issue I tried uninstalling, disabling and tweaking various software and even tried safe mode with networking, all to no avail. I then decided to do a complete fresh install this afternoon. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
successfully onto my SSD and everything went smoothly. I have now only installed Nvidia video drivers and the (only) WLAN driver from the Asus support site.
My WLAN connection remains incredibly slow (amost half what it is on the HP and my MacBook Pro). Clearly this is an issue with either the Asus laptop or Windows but I don't know how to proceed in order to eliminate which it could be other than to try a different
o/s to W7-Ult.
Can anyone help who knows more about this than me? Perhaps someone who has had a similar or the same problem because this is giving me a severe headache!

Thank you for responding. As I stated in my original post the reason I went through this process was because of an extremely slow internet connection from both the WLAN and LAN connections on my G53SW. At that time I had all of the correct drivers on the
machine. Whilst I would agree that with the machine only having a video and WLAN driver it may well not be working 'optimally', the rationale for doing this was to get the machine working with the minimum of processes to show that it was not anti-virsu software,
Steam or the like causing interference.
I have changed out both of the HDDs this evening (a primary SSD and a secondary 1Tb HDD) for a clean hybrid 1Tb Seagate drive. Once I have installed all of the Asus drivers (and nothing else) I will try the speed test again and report back.
I can now report that with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and ONLY Asus drivers as supplied the issue remains. On a connection where I should see around 75mbps I am actually getting around 18mbps, sometimes considerably slower. This only affects
my Asus machine.

Stable ati driver installed, but still issues

Hi folks
I followed this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AMD_Catalyst
and everything went smoothly, everything installed fine and the accc is showing my graphics card and lets me change the settings.
Now i only installed it because i could not get flash videos to play smoothly on full screen, it was by default using the ati-dri driver. No matter what i tried i could not sort this issue so i installed the stable amd catalyst driver and control centre. It boots fine but videos are still choppy (when on full screen) and the movement of windows around is slow and tearing. i followed the instructions on the the wiki to fix these things but nothings has worked.
before installation of the driver window movement was smooth also
I assume if the driver was not installed properly i would not even be able to boot into a gui? everything looks pretty its just when i come to drag windows about and like i say watch youtube.

No, there shouldn't be any reason to do anything that drastic. If the open source Radeon driver works well for you then I think it would be a better idea to use it instead of the Catalyst driver. Just uninstall the Catalyst driver and install the Radeon driver.
What computer are you using? What video card are you using?
What are you trying to watch? If it's just things like YouTube videos then consider using a helper application such as "youtube-dl" and using a video player such as "mpv". You'll still be able to watch the video while it's downloading, but you won't have to deal with those stupid clunky sometimes-works sometimes-doesn't Flash video players. I don't know how anyone does.
Ha, I just realized, you're dealing with Flash for Linux (which is kind of deprecated and not being developed any more) and Catalyst for Linux(which is kind of deprecated and not being developed any more). Sounds tricky.

Second hard drive installed but fails to appear in disk utility

I have installed the original 160GB into the second HD bay of my Dual 1.8 G5, and have had little success of it working. I say little success because one time (not the first time) it appeared on the desktop and I was able to view and run apps. from it. However, with each additional boot it has not been visible on the desk top, system profiler, or disk utility.
?Why did I install the original Hard drive in the second bay?
Just before leaving the country I sold my mother this computer, just before delevering the computer it crashed to catastrophie. She took the computer to
a certified apple repair facility, and they removed the drive, and installed a new drive in HD bay 1. In addition, they sold her an external firewire case that which the original drive could be installed in and therefore connected to the G5.
I would rather work through this problem than use the external drive, so Please Help.

DVD/CD Disc Drive Installed, But Doesn't Recognize Disc In Tray

I've spent hours and hours trying to fix it, and have found nothing really worthwhile online. I'm coming here in the outside chance someone else may have experienced something similar.
Basically, my Windows 7 laptop will no longer allow me to play dvd/cds (burned or store bought). The drive shows up in My Computer, is enabled, bios look good, etc, etc, but if I put a disc in it never autoruns or shows up with the disc name in My Computer,
and if I double click the disc drive I get a "please insert disc" dialogue box and the drive door pops open. I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, and (for what it's worth) I don't think its a hardware issue because after I sent my computer off
to Samsung for this same repair it came back completely reformatted the disc drive worked for a second. Then I started getting rid of some of the bloat ware in here (bought it at best buy... big mistake) again, and it shut down.
Here's what I've done or tried so far:
- Uninstall, reinstall the drive
- Updated the drivers
- Updated dvd/cd drive firmware
- Ran Microsoft's "Fix it" utility
- Cleaned the lenses/laser
- Remapped the drive to a different letter/path
- Checked registry to ensure filters weren't an issue (the upper and lower)
- Restored the laptop back to just after I received it back from the Samsung repair people (didn't work)
- Undid the restore
- Checked BIOS (I'm by no means BIOS-savvy, but it appeared that everything was in line with what folks were saying it should be)
And probably a few other things I'm forgetting. This is driving me crazy. I just started an online grad class and can't really feasibly send my computer back right now.
Anyone experience anything similar or know of some super magical solution?

Going to your point of "starting an online....", the quick fix (not magical) would be to get a cheap external that would work. If it were my 'puter I'd bring it with me, get the external (and seeing as how you went to BB go back to the same
one) obtain the one you want, have that Geek Squad rep install it for ya right there, No, there should be no dropping it off, USB hookups are quick. You might have to spend a coupla' minutes there though. It works...Great, it don't then have them
find one in your price range...put the onus on them....they sold it to you, have them figger' it out!!!! :=))

ODBC Driver installed, but not available

Hello,
i have installed 32bit ODBC Instant Client (instantclient-odbc-nt-11.2.0.4.0) on a Windows 7 64bit system. Installation suceeds without any errors,
but the Driver is not available as a ODBC Datasource (odbcad32). Path to Instant Client is set in the Environment Variable.

instantclient-odbc-nt-11.2.0.4.0 is 32-bit driver it will be available in c:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Note: The names are in reverse i.e. for 32 bit odbc, you search in SysWOW64 and for 64 bit you search in System32. This is as designed by Microsoft.
