Hp d7260 doesn't detect photo paper

My Hp d7260 will not recognize the photo paper even if the paper tray if full. It keeps giving the message the it is out of paper. Any hints out there? Thanks. PS..I am using this without a computer.

Miles,
Thank you for your reply, I just tried  different size stacks, but still no result.
It won't pick up the paper from the main tray using 8.5x11, or from the photo tray 4x6.
The paper comes out with some blank ink streaks on the bottom and vague shadow on the top of the front.
Paper has absolutely no damage.
I changed from Windows XP to windows 7, however I already experienced some problems with XP.
I hope you may have some further suggestions.

I just received the G510n Wireless for Christmas.  I tried printing a Photo on Premium Photo Paper and it does not come out.  I can't find Photo Ink for this printer.  Doesn't this printer have the capability to print Photos on Photo Paper?

    HI Dawn3905,
Yes your printer does have the capability to print photos on photo paper.
I'm not sure what operating system you are using but here is a link that shows how to print using photo paper in Mac OS 10.5 or later.
Also here is a link to your printers manual with instructions on how to print photos in windows as well.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Photo paper doesn't want to pull through the printer

My Photosmart 6520 doesn't want to pull photo paper. For 4x6's I set it to photo tray and check 4x6 paper. I am using HP premium quality paper. It pulls from the plain paper tray. I take out the plain paper and it says out of paper. I tried several times. Just can't get it to work. When I try letter size photo paper, it drags and won't feed. it is like the paper is too thick. I have been dealing with this since I bought it and I am very discouraged. I tried calling support. They said I had a computer problem. I am not buying that. It prints great as long as I don't use photo paper. Any one have an idea?

    hicogal,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
If you have not already done so, you might double check the following settings.
Note the Media selection that tells the printer to expect the "thicker" photo paper from the photo tray.
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your Printer >
Printing Preferences > tab Paper / Quality >>
Select Paper Source > Photo Tray (if applicable for your model / this paper selection)
    Select Paper Size > 4X6" (tab)  *
Select Media > HP Advanced Photo Paper
    OK
    * Select "tab" if your paper provides the tiny indented tab on one end
Example - Using Windows Photo Viewer
NOTE that Fit picture to frame is NOT checked

  • How do I print from the photo paper cassette? It keeps using the lower tray. MX922.

How do you print out images on photo paper? I have a Canon MX922 (2013 iMac OS 10.9.4) and I can't figure out how to indicate the specific paper tray to use when printing - everything prints out from the lower, US legal size paper tray. I have 4x6 photo paper loaded vertically in the upper tray properly. I've looked under the Paper Source in both My Image Garden and the Print Dialog settings, and chosen the A4 format, but it still prints out legal size images. What am I doing wrong? Here are the settings I'm using:
    Photo paper loaded:
Printer settings in My Image Garden. The only option under 'Paper Source' is simply 'Casette.'
Clicking Print sends me to the Print Dialog Box:
    In the Print Dialog box,
Default Settings doesn't reveal any tray options either:
And still I'm getting legal-sized prints of photos, not on photo paper.

Crisis averted, you have to choose the 4x6 size in the My Image Garden instead of A4. Photos are printing normally now!

  • Deskjet 6988dt, how to use photo/envelope slot for printing 4x6 photo paper?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.  Printer has the extra250 sheet paper tray.  Upper and lower tray work fine.  I can of course load photo paper in upper tray and print photos from there, but I was trying to load just one sheet of photo paper in the little slot since I don't want to have photo paper loaded all the time.  Since I have to use the generic Windows driver for this printer as HP doesn't have a driver update for this printer and Windows 7, the only selections I'm seeing in printer properties is "automatic, upper, lower".  I've tried all three of those settings and none take the paper from the little slot where I'm manually feeding the 4x6 photo paper.  What am I doing wrong?  Could it be that this feature just isn't enabled with the generic Windows driver?
The reference/instruction documentation that came with this printer is very sparse.  I can't find any instruction on how to use the photo/evelope slot.  In fact I'd say overall the documentation is very poor.
I just checked the HP site, still no Windows 7 64-bit driver available.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Found a .pdf document on line for the Desjet 6980 series printers. Much more comprehensive than what came with the printer.

Follow these steps to use the photo/envelope feeder to print a single photo:
    1. Insert the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder with the side to be printed on
    facing down.
    2. Gently push the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder as far as it will
    comfortably go.
    3. Slide the photo/envelope feeder forward as far as it will go.
    4. Print the photo.
Problem was, although I was inserting the 4x6 photo paper into the feeder, I wasn't pushing the little plastic slide forward.

    Hello andreaparra,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I found the following article that will help you in resolving this issue, where none of your devices are being recognized by iTunes.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If you get to the part where it asks you to uninstall iTunes, even though you have done it before, be sure to uninstall iTunes and the other components in the order listed.
    Take care,

  • Can't print on photo paper

Please help before I jump off my roof!!!! Hi, I have just purchased a new HP Envy 5530 specifically to print photos. The guy in the store also sold me a pack of Kodak A4 premium photo paper and said it would work fine. When I try and print pictures in any size 4x6 or 5x7 it either just prints a black smear or just a inch or so on the edge of the paper. The strange thing is that if I do the same thing but with normall (not photo) paper it works fine and prints it in the size I want!!!!!! What am I doing wrong. Do I need special paper or something, this is driving me crazy. Please help.   DC6

See this topic. Although for a different HP printer it may have something in it that will help: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1374604&tstart=0
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Lightroom 4 doesn't detect Photoshop Elements 9/10 for external editing

    Hi,
I own Photoshop Elements 9 and recently decided to install trials of Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Elements 10.  For whatever reason, Lightroom doesn't detect Photoshop Elements 9 or 10 for external editing.  I need to make sure this functionality works before proceeding with purchasing Lightroom and possibly Photoshop Elements 10.  Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
    Thanks,
    Matt

List of supported Nikon cameras. I think you're out of luck for tether-shooting.
      Nikon
    D3
    D3s
    D3x
    D90
    D300
    D300s
    D700
    D5000
    D7000
      Notes on Nikon cameras
If you trigger the shutter with the tether bar capture button, the image must finish downloading before another photo can be captured. Triggering a capture with the shutter release button on the camera does not have this limitation.
Images do not save to the compact flash card. They are only downloaded to the computer.
Only one Nikon camera can be attached at a time.
Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.6 are not officially supported for the D3x, D90, and D5000, but they can still work.

  • Photo Paper Size: Where is 4x6???

I am using PS Elements, and I am an infrequent user. I am simply trying to print a 2"x3" image on a 4x6 photo paper, but PS Elements doesn't list the most common photo paper size (for your average user...) on it's drop down menue, under 'Paper Size'. It's enough to drive you nuts...

    I use PSEv.8
    Print from the Editor
    Crop your picture to 2x3"
Go to File>print. In the dialog:
#3 Paper size>4x6" and 4x6" borderless are listed
    #4 Use individual print
#5 Print size is an option available to you. If you crop before sending it to the printer, you will have absolute control. Note the "crop to fit" box.

I am using the HP app to try and print on photo paper 5x7" supplied with inks by HP for this printer. Printer takes photo papers at edge of tray but won't print as it detects no paper in it! Crazy!

  • My Computer Doesn't Detect My Camera

My computer doesn't detect my camera! Can someone help? (If you haven't noticed, I created this account just to ask this question! Help is greatly appreciated!)
I recently had to do a system restore on my computer. After I restored, I tried to upload photos from my Powershot A4000 IS camera to my computer (I had done it before successfully) only to find that the Autoplay window didn't pop up (like it usually did) and the Hardware Fail sound played. I then tried to start my CameraWindow software manually, but it said my camera wasn't connected. I have several Usb ports on my computer, and I tried all of them. Nothing happened! I'm sure that I'm not missing any essential Canon software and my camera isn't damaged; I barely use it, and the Powershot A4000 support page claimed that I didn't need any extra drivers for my edition of Windows! Help!
P.S. My OS is Windows Vista SP2.

    Stupid_Computer,
There are some additional questions I would like to ask that will help me determine what is wrong.
      1.  Have you tried connecting your camera to a different computer?
      2.  Do other computers fail to recognize the camera?
      3.  Do you have any other devices connected to the computer, like a printer, scanner, webcam, external hard drive, etc?
If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • Printing 4 x 6 photos on photo paper

I have a C7100 all in one printer and since I've installed Leopard I can't print pictures on photo paper. When I try and print pictures they come out on plain paper, even though there is photo paper in the tray. I've tried every combinations of settings to print pictures but they all come out on plain paper. Anyone else have this printer and this problem?

As Larry pointed out you should be able to get to these options in the Print window:
Then in the Paper Handling section (I think) you should be able to select the paper tray. If it's not that section it will be one of the others as the HP may have slightly different options.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
