HP Design Jet 1055cm - Windows 7 - Network Driver???

We need to get our 1055cm network for AutoCad use... Is there a normal printing driver that does not involve "Easyshare"...?
This is a Windows 7 - x64 bit system for the connecting computer... the server is an xp system...

  • Windows NTFS network drive no longer able to edit files in Osx 10.9

    In the OSX 10.8x and before, the network drive hosted by Windows 2008 server in our .local domain was able to be modified by my imac under a local user account with the same user name without any problem.  The only issue was not able to join the AD due to the existing .local domain setup.  Upon upgrading to OSX 10.9 today, the network drive still connect properly, and the files on the share drive is still able to be opened, read, copied and deleted as before.  However, any attempt to save the changes to the opened file display an error message saying that it is been locked and I have no privilege to modify the file.  The funny thing is now that the mac computer is able to join the windows AD without problem, although under the network account, the same problem exited.  Something has to do with the SMB right/ share has been changed in this release.  Anyhelp on how I may resolve this problem?

    I'm hoping you or someone can solve this. We're using Tuxera to add SMB NTFS write capabilities to Mavericks and it works great for everything ... except for iWork 2013. iWork 09 still reads and writes perfectly, as does every other app I have on my Mac.
    At this point, I fear using iWork 2013 in a mixed Windows/OSX environment is dead if your server is NTFS. It's another quiver in Microsoft's argument that iWork is for children only. Despite all the griping about deprecated functions in the new iWork, there's no show stoppers as far as I'm concerned, and I use Pages, Keynote and Numbers in serious ways daily.

  • How do I send Windows-friendly network drive links using Mail (in Tiger)?

    I'm in an office with mostly Windows users (and Windows NT servers). Most folks use Windows email applications such as Outlook and Outlook Express. I use Apple Mail 2.1.3 (753.1) in Tiger v10.4.11. But I want to send links within my emails to files on our various network drives and have the receiving Windows/Outlook users click the links to automatically open the various files, but I can't get this to work. Any ideas on how to format the network links so they work this way?
    I don't log into the network drives normally until I want to access things, perhaps I should. But I've tried this and still no go.

    Thanks, but I've tried this in a variety of ways, none of which seem to work. So there's more detail required. Here's some background and examples of what I've tried without success.
    The Windows WORKGROUP is, say, "JAMESCORP" - but what's the equivalent in Apple networking to a Workgroup? And does this even matter? It seems to not matter?
    The Windows drives are mapped on Windows machines as, say, F: G: H: I: etc... But I don't know what the equivalent concept of mapping drives is on an Apple (more on smb, below). I typically don't map Windows' network drives (I use VMWare Fusion) on the Windows side since I did not like the constant Windows messages reminding me each time I'm out of the office that it can't find the Drive F:. Then it can't find Drive G: - etc. ad infinitum. What a pain.
    On the Apple side, I use Finder's command-K to smb into the server that contains all the partitioned drives. In the smb list, the drive names are, say, mapp-cdrv and mapp-ddrv etc (which, in Windows map to F: and G: respectively).
    So when you type "servername" - I'm lost regarding just what the servername should really be? Is it:
    a) F: (which does not work for a Windows user once it's delivered via Apple Mail to an Microsoft Outlook email) So this seems to not be the proper servername - or if it is, there's a translation happening in the delivery mechanism that makes it not work. (I "Add Hyperlink" from the Edit menu to get the link into an Apple Mail message.)
    b) mapp-cdrv (which works on an Apple, but when sent to a Windows machine's email (e.g., Outlook) does not work - so this isn't it. This servername is not something the Windows machines understand
    c) cifs://workgroup;""me@<ip address of server>/mapp-cdrv (which, again, doesn't work on a Windows machine once sent thru Apple Mail).
    I've tried a variety of other permutations of "servername" - both Windows-like server names and Apple-like server names - but none seem to work once delivered the way I'm delivering the links (thru Apple Mail to Outlook.)
    Any other ideas? Thanks for the help! ; )

    Hello,
    I working on a windows 2003 Server machine with a Oracle database 10.2.0.3.

    Hi,
    My environment consist in Windows 2003 Server and Oracle database 10.2.03 database

    I build a CHAIN based job
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.create_chain (chain_name => 'loadchain',rule_set_name => NULL,evaluation_interval => NULL,comments => 'Loading chain.');
    END;
    I defined programs : trunc and processing as STORED_PROCEDUREs and sqlldrDays and sqlldrMonths as EXECUTABLEs

    END;
    When I watch user_scheduler_job_run_details I can see STORED_PROCEDUREs programs succeded and EXECUTABLEs (sqlldr based) didn't
    in additional_info table I can read - STANDARD_ERROR="SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (Z:\ControlCAMarjaZilnic.ctl) and
    STANDARD_ERROR="SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (Z:\ControlCAMarjaLunar.ctl) respectively
    But this file exists - I copied path+filename from error messge and I pasted in comand prompt

  • Help getting accurate metadata for files on network drives

    I need to read 1000's of very small files that are addressable through the file system API (File class). The location of the files may be a local drive or via a Windows shared drive. When the files are on a remote system, the files may actually be changed by a process running on that remote system. Much of the time, I can actually cache the information needed from the files, but if the file changes or is deleted then I have to detect the change and reload or delete from my in memory cache. Everything works great when on a local drive, but the File API doesn't work when on a Windows shared network drive.
    Basically, File.lastModified(), File.exists(), File.canRead(), File.isFile() etc, all return inaccurate results when the base path is on a mapped network drive, the files are changed by a remote process, and then are immediately accessed by my Java process.
    For example,
    <li> if the File existed
    <li> my program loaded and cached it
    <li> then a remote process changes the file
    <li> when I call file.lastModified() immediately following the change, it will report the old lastModified date.
    So, the net result is that I can't detect the change and end up serving up old data. This is even worse when the file is deleted, but Java File.exists() reports true. If I put in an artificial wait using Thread.sleep() in a while loop, then eventually the correct lastModified and exists will be reported. However, this doesn't help.
    I've tried a lot of different ways to try to get Java to report the correct info. So far, the only reliable way is to try to open the file and read the first byte, catching an exception if necessary. This seems to then force the file data to be updated and Java will then correctly report the lastModified date (or throw an exception if it no longer exists). However, attempting to open the IO to the file and reading a single byte pretty much invalidates any reason to cache the data in the files because most of the overhead is in opening and closing the streams.
    Is there any way to force Java or Windows to update the information about a file? It seems to me that this probably has to do with Windows caching shared drive file information and giving Java bad data, but it would be really nice to be able to force a refresh a file info.
    Example:
    //Assume that this is already behind code that did a file.exists() or file.canRead();
            long instanceFileModifyTime = fileObject.lastModified();
            MyObject cachedResult = INSTANCE_CACHE.get(cacheKey);
            if ((null != cachedResult) && (instanceFileModifyTime == cachedResult.getLoadTime())) {
                result = cachedResult;
            } else {
                //Open IO and load the data
            }

    I need to read 1000's of very small files that are addressable through the file system API (File class). The location of the files may be a local drive or via a Windows shared drive.This is a very bad idea.
    When the files are on a remote system, the files may actually be changed by a process running on that remote system. Much of the time, I can actually cache the information needed from the files, but if the file changes or is deleted then I have to detect the change and reload or delete from my in memory cache.That's also a very bad idea. Application-side caching is fraught with problems and this is one of them.
That will be the network file system. Nothing Java can do about it. Java neither knows nor cares. You are at the mercy of what the networked file system does. And that's why it's a very bad design. Networked file systems are for users, not for applications.
    So, the net result is that I can't detect the change and end up serving up old data.Only because you cached it, which is why that's a bad idea. If you hadn't cached it you would have had to read the file again and you would have got the current data. And it would have been slow, because networked file systems are slow, which is why that's a bad idea.
    Basically you are trying to use a remote file system as though it was a transactional database: it isn't, so you are trying to write more stuff in front of it to make it better; instead you are making it worse.
    What you should be doing is using a transactional database as a transactional database.

  • Map Network Drive to Time Capsule from WinXP Home with reconnect at logon

    I bridged my TimeCapsule on a wired home network. TC provides wireless(n/g) for a Macbook & Dell Laptop, print server, and storage. MAC & PC's all access internet; The Mac & PC's were able to find a reasonable driver for the printer (not a generic); and visibility to the TC and even Mac<-->PC (all on the same WINS Workgroup; file sharing/AFP/SMB turned on) working OK.
    I want to have a single drive letter mapped to a TC folder during a PC login. Using Windows Map Network Drive... I can supply \\server\share as my \\[mytimecapsulename]\[path to folder] and then I use "connect as different user" and supply the username/password as specified in the AirPort Utility setup for TC. Then I click Reconnect at Logon, and Finish. Windows is "happy" and the connection is made, applications on the PC that need the folder have access to the folder according the permissions on the TC. Sweet.
    Until, logoff and logon, and XP burps "not able to establish all network connections". Exploring MyComputer shows the Mapped Drive (but disconnected), double-click I'm prompted for username/password; enter it and I'm runnning.
    This seems to be a workaround, and I'd like to have the reconnect work seamlessly.

    Thank you Steve.
    I want to test my understanding. The TC password and the Windows login passwords should be the same. If there are more than one Windows users, then both of their passwords should be the same as the TC password?
    My understanding of "connect using different user name" is that I supply a username that the TC understands, i.e. the username/password set up in AirPort utility, and I would not supply any of the Windows accounts/passwords. This has worked for me. I supply the time-capsule-username/password not my Windows username and the Map Network Drive makes the connection. But it doesn't make the Reconnet at logon.
    So it sounds like what I should try is to change the timecapsule password to match the Windows account password of the windows user attempting to connect to the TC. Which means I'm limited to one password even if there are more than one Windows users attempting to connect.
    Sound about right? I'll try it out and let you know 6-12 hrs.

  • Vista network driver (winpe 2) for thinkcentre m73? (intel I217-V)

    Is there no Vista network driver for the Thinkcentre M73 (Intel I217-V lan network)?  It's for Altiris 6.9 Winpe (2).

    As far as i know, there is no Windows Vista Network driver for the Intel I217. I have tried to find the vista driver and even installed a WIN7 driver on Ghost Boot Wizard for WinPE 2.0 and i still cannot connect to any ghostcast sessions.

  • How can I map a network drive so that it is persistent?

    When I use my PB at work, I need to connect to a network drive. Is there a way to map to this drive sutomatically when I boot up at work but not give me any problems when I boot up at home.

    Are you connecting to a Windows-based network drive? If so, I can't remember the exact procedure because I've found it actually more difficult to "map to network drive" with PCs.
    For the Mac, what I've done is, to save headaches, is made a shortcut to my networked drive on my Dock.
    First, in the File menu:
    GO > Connect to Server > Browse > (find your networked drive)
    Second, double click on your choice, and what should come up is a new dialog box that says "Connect to Server" with the choice to connect as "Guest" or "Registered User."
    Choose "Registered User" type in your login name and password, and click the checkbox for "Remember password in keychain" and then click on the CONNECT button.
    Third, if successful, when the drive mounts, drag that to your dock and leave it there.
    Then you can access your networked drive any time without having to re-enter your name and password every time. So as long as you did it right.
    I don't recommend putting it in your Login Items because it can cause system hangups if for some reason, you aren't connected to your network when you startup. It will hang and search for that drive forever. ("Forever").
    Trust me on that part. I've wasted precious time in most cases, waiting for the PowerBook to search for a drive that is not connected.
    Also, you can put your networked drive in your "Favorite Servers" section by clicking on the "+" sign with the drive's address typed in. That way you also don't have to find it all the time.
    But do the previous tip and you should be fine.
    That is, if you are on a Mac to Mac network. I gave up trying to access the PC network because it kept reassigning the IP address and would never remember where it was.
    (That's how I got those hangups at startup).

  • Error message when mapping to a network drive of a DFS share on Windows 7

    Hi,
    We are getting the following error when mapping to a network drive of a DFS share on Windows 7:
    “The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred:
    A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated."
    In our case, the user logs on his workstation using his regular domain account, then maps to the network DFS share using the service account of an application.
    There is a fix from Microsoft (MS KB968264). But this fix requires disabling the "Network access: Do not allow storage of credentials or .NET Passports for network authentication” property. This is against the Microsoft own best practices (Network access:
    “Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication” should be set to
    ENABLED), and is NOT acceptable for us for obvious security reasons.
    Question: Does anyone know an alternative fix to this issue that does not introduce security risks?
    Thank you in advance!
    Mdjona

    Again I have tried this, but in my program if I try to save to the a drive when no disk is inserted, the JOptionPane i want to display is not coming up.
    the system prints out
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: A:\image.jpg <The device is not ready>
    If that makes any sense to you

    Hi,
    Is there any error message throwed when you reconnect the mapped drive? Can you directly access the UNC path of the mapped drive? What VPN programs do you use? Please check if the VPN client connect correctly.
    You could refer to the thread below to check if the AD account is restricted by VPN.

    Hi,
    How did you map the network drive? Manually via GUI? Command? GPP? If you're using one of the above solutions, then try other solutions as a alternative way to check the result.
    According to your description, If Windows remains unable to reconnect mapped Network Drive at login, then I would suggest you created a batch file with net use command, use it as an logon script, this provides an alternate way to reconnect drives on
    a re-logon.
    example
    @echo off
    net use * /delete /yes
    net use x: \\server_name\shared_directory_name

  • Finder windows close randomly on network drive

    Hi, searched on google for long time and found nothing. I'm working in a small office (13 iMacs and Mac Pros) and the Finder have a strange behavior.
    In my office, 12 iMacs and Mac Pro are using OS 10.6.8 to 10.8.3, and there is a server that contain a backup of every project and every user must save his project at the end of the day on the server. The server is a Mac Pro first generation with 8GB RAM running 10.7.5 server, and a 2TB HD that is shared with everyone.
    When a user want to access a folder on the server drive, the windows of the folder randomly close.
    For example : User A want to save his project in folder "Macintosh HD:Client X:Project Y" So User A open the remote "Macintosh HD", than "Client X" folder and "Project Y" folder, but "Project Y" close by itself. User A must reopen it from "Client X" folder. I have a lot of complain since it's irritating and a waste of time when you want to drag your document and the target folder close by itself. It's not a lost connection since the remote drive stay mounted. The problem was there when the server was running 10.6.8 and I tough that the upgrade to 10.7.5 server will solve that, but no luck. Since it's a 1st gen Mac Pro, we can't try 10.8
    The problem affect client on every version os Mac OS, from 10.6.8 to 10.8.3
    Any idea ?

    What is your network drive attached to? Is it a NAS or a shared drive from another computer. Either way get it connected locally to a computer and you should be able to find a file undelete tool (there are even free ones) that can restore the files that you have deleted.
    I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this thread for background. The thread may shed some light on exactly what you did wrong. ITunes shows all the copies of the files that are the same as each other. If you delete them all you end up with none.

  • Excel 2007 and 2010 slow to save to network drive with Windows 7

    I know this issue has been passed around and I know that there are some fixes out there. I will lay out my issue and resources, what I've tried and the things I've noticed.
    I have a mix of Server 2003 32bit, 64 bit and 2008 64 bit. The desktop/laptop environment is mainly XP (no issues saving with an XP machine), a few Win 7 computers and a dozen thin clients running off the 2008 TS. The slow saving issue happens with either
    a Win 7 machine or a client terminal served into 2008. It takes 60 seconds or more to save or "save as" an excel file to a network drive. Same thing happens with any Office product. No issue saving to the local machine. If you log into either 7 or
    TS with the domain admin account, the saving takes no time at all. Only as a domain user does it hang.
    I have tried the SMB2 trick, the 981711 hotfix, turning off indexing and starting the webclient service. I am probably forgetting a trick or two that I've seen online from various people having the same issue. Point is though, the issue remains and besides
    being utterly annoying, it is preventing me from rolling Windows 7 out to my employees. Please Help. Thank you in advance for any advice posted

    Hi,
    Have you tried to create a new txt file with notepad to test this issue? If this issue also happens on .txt file, you should check your network.
    And I suggest all users disable their anti-virus to see if the problem goes away.
    There are other things to try if the problem is evident in all of the documents you open. When EXCEL is not running, make sure you delete all the temporary files that
    EXCEL may have left lying around various folders in your system. Look for files that end with the TMP extension, or files that being with the tilde (~) character. If your file folders become very cluttered with these temporary files, it can slow EXCEL down
    immensely.
    Another thing to try is to start EXCEL with the
    /a switch on the command line. This causes it to load without also loading different startup files such as add-ins and macros. If this fixes the problem, then you can bet that the slowdown is caused by one of those add-ins or macros.
    You might also rename the Normal.dot (or Normal.dotm) file; if it is corrupted then it can slow down response times. (Renaming the file causes Word to create a clean,
    fresh, empty one the next time you start the program.)

  • Requirement is to run CMD.EXE under the Local System Account. So that we can map a network drive to be used by a windows service, which will be created by command: - net use z: \\servername\sharedfolder /persistent:yes

    Environment:
    OS:  Windows 7 32/64 bit, Windows 2008 Server 64
    bit/ Windows 2012 Server 64 bit
    Priority:
    - Critical
    Requirement: - Since
    the Windows Service is running under the Local System Account, we would like to emulate this same behaviour.
    Basically, we would like to run CMD.EXE under the Local System Account. So that we can map a network drive to be used by a service using following
    command
    net use z: \\servername\sharedfolder /persistent:yes.
    Already Attempt:
    We tried to launch the CMD.exe using the DOS Task Scheduler AT command.  Here’s a sample command:
    AT 10:36 /interactive cmd.exe
    But I received a warning that “due
    to security enhancements, this task will run at the time excepted but not interactively.”
    It turns out that this approach will work for XP, 2000 and Server 2003 but due to session isolation
    Interactive services no longer work on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and above.
      2.  We
    tried to create a secondary Windows Service via the Service Control (sc.exe) which merely launches CMD.exe.
    <Drive>:\sc create RunCMDAsLSA binpath= "cmd" type=own type=interact <Drive>:\sc
    start RunCMDAsLSA
    In this case the service fails to start and results it the following error message:
    FAILED 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
      3. One
    suggestion, we found to launch CMD.exe via a Scheduled Task, but
    it is not giving any option to launch CMD.exe in interactive mode; so that I can map network drive using net command.
      4. I read an article, which
    demonstrates the use of PSTools from SysInternals. I launched the command line and executed following command
    psexec -i -s cmd.exe
    PSTools worked fine, but It seems that in scope of Sysinternals Software License
    Terms. You may not "use the software for commercial software hosting services."
    Application will deploy on client, which will be like commercial,
    so we are not able to use PSTools.
    Kindly assist us for achieving the requirement. We have tried all the ways, but nothing is working for us. Kindly suggest.
    I will be really thankful.

    Hi Sir,
    Nothing worked from above for us. You can see our remarks on posted query.
    That’s why, we posted on forum.
    And there will not be any vulnerability, because, if we will use "net
    use ..."
    in network domain; definitely,
    we will provide username and password of mapped drive system.
    And, that system, itself is given by client; so that, there must not be any vulnerability; they are ready to provide user name and password.
    We need a way; by which we can complete the requirement. Kindly assist.
    Regards,
    S. P. Singh

  • How can I see my network drive from time capsule on windows vista pc?

    I connected my Time Capsule 2tb to Windows PC and do not see the Network Drive for TC. I can see TC on my wireless MacProBook, but cannot see TC drive on the pc. What can I do on the PC to find Time Capsule's drive?

    From the Mac as it is easier to use.. open airport utilty and go to the  disks, file sharing page. turn on the guest account.. give read write  access.. and make sure the TC is in the correct workgroup or type in the  work group name.. update the TC.
    In vista.. Open windows explorer.. in the address bar type \\ip\
    IP meaning the IP of the TC. . wait.. waiting wait.. windows scratches its bum.. thinks some more.. will finally kick up a username and password request.. type in whatever you need. Voila.. TC appears.
