Hp deskjet 1050a j410 install\driver problem

Hey! i've recently bought a scanner\printer which i intend to use with my laptop, no hassle.
but installing this thing is a bloody nightmare and i get errors and what not, how the heck am i supposed to do this?
i am a fairly tech savvy person, but your printer have gotten the best of me and i am constraining myself for not using coarse language in this post (this printer + the absurdly "secure" registry screen "oh sorry couldn'nt handle your request lol").
anyway, i don't have a cd-rom on my laptop and i figured that would be no problem, seeing as this whole internet exists i assumed i could just download the files on the cd, but to no avail.
i'm not sure what kind of magic files are on the cd and why somone figured it to be a great idea to make it this hard to install a printer, but first of all, the printer i have bought is apparently not supported in windows as it won't show up when i try to add a printer in "devices and printers". there is nothing even remotely close to the model i have, which the leaves me with installing from a disk i can't access. i've been googling for hours after a simple "install" file, but this is apparently a trade secret and is not available online. Why that is i suppose only birds and technical engineers know.
I have also tried to just install the driver directly, with a futile hope of that it would solve it, i went here:

but this file was also utterly useless as it turns up with an error and is unable to elaborate even a single bit.

I am willing to help you but I need to know quite a bit more information than all that you put in the first post (want good answers, ask good questions).
First of all, what is the operating system of the computer you are trying to install the printer on?
How is the printer connected (USB, wireless, or Ethernet)?
Is it that you are getting the error message "Failed to find driver package to install?"
Are you still seeking assistance?

The help already available on line says click the + button There is no + button on the HP Deskjet 1050A scan screen on the computer. Scanning single pages is easy. I have been to the advanced settings and made sure that the "Create a separate file for each scanned page" box is not checked.

No, you can't see + sign when scan from printer, you have to scan from somputer software, on computer.

Nokia N8 installing driver problem !! HELP ME !!!!

Hi guys, i recently bought a Nokia N8.
i've install Nokia Ovi Suit from folder that exist in my phone, it's completely install ovi suit and download Nokia N8's USB driver from internet and stores it in "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver".
when i connect the phone in Nokia Ovi Suit Mode via USB, windows can found it, but cannot install its drivers !!!
Windows says that: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." (i use Windows Vista 32-bit, see below attachment)
what can i do ??!!! plzzzzz help me i need too run Ovi Suit !!!

I am having the exact same issue.
The Ovi store was installed first via the N8 built in software, then uninstalled and reinstalled using the latest Ovi version from Nokia's webinstaller download, but still no success with the Ovi connection.
The other file transfer modes work fine 'media transfer & 'mass storage' but the Ovi store is still unable to run due to Windows VISTA not being able to locate the drivers for the N8 software. (despite being installed!)
After accepting the prompt for Windows to locate the drivers... The same error as RayMond_021 screen shot appears.
"COMPUTER SAYS.... NO!"
Super frustrating! A brand new $800 phone and I can't even access the promised software (Ovi maps) that encouraged me to buy it!?
PLEASE HELP US!!!!!

Fresh Windows 7 Install - Driver Problems

I have an HP Pavilion dv6-6c35dx. I just put a fresh installation of Windows 7 Professional x64 and I'm having issues getting some of the drivers. I have already checked the forums for any answers and nothing has helped me so far. I'm posting the missing drivers and the component's hardware ID.

Manually install it from the file I have attached below.
Unzip the file to a folder.
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver.
Select the browse my computer for driver software method and browse to the folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

5G IPOD Install: Drive problem and destroyed CD/DVD drive access - HELP!!!!

5g video IPOD 30G, Windows 2000 - Installed IPOD software and Itunes. Connected IPOD and got disk access error message. Not only I can't get to my IPOD, but it did something to my CD/DVD drivers. Drivers no longer load with an error that windows can't load driver for this device.
Uninstalled itunes and ipod. Still no drive.
Anyone has any idea?

In any case after the media 7.1 is removed, drivers finally loaded up OK again. Then IPOD reinstall worked.

Deskjet 1050A j410 series just stopped working

My deskjet printer has just stopped working. I have printed fine with it for a few months. Just tried to print something & it just won't work. I press the print button the preview comes us, I press OK ... then nothing. I have looked at the printer queue & it says document pending. I have tried pausing & restarting, and cancelling and printing but to no avail. Please help !

I understand that you are looking for software and drivers for you Deskjet 1050a for Windows 8.1. I suggest that you make sure that all the updates are done on your laptop before you begin. Please follow the steps in this document for Installing the Printer Software in Windows 8. You want to use "Method one: Use the HP Printer Install Wizard" it will work for Windows 8.1.
I am also including this link for HP Deskjet 1050 All-in-One Printer - J410a Drivers. If you would rather download and install on your own. Select your operating system (Windows 8.1 32 or 64 bit) and click next, scroll down and click on Driver - Product Installation Software, then choose either the full feature or basic software and drivers and download.

X301 problems after installing driver updates - won't come out of sleep mode

We have a new X301 with Vista 32 installed. Things were working fine until I ran system update the other day. I've set the power options so not shutdown hibernate, however, after a period of time the system seems to go to sleep or to a screen saver and will not come out of whatever state it is in. The only solution is to power off/on the system.
I have an X500 where there were display driver problems if there was an external monitor (dual monitor) attached. The only thing I can think of is that either there is some similar issue with the X301 since we have an external monitor attached or there is something that was messed up with the drivers that were installed. I do have (for now) restore points before these drivers were installed but I'm not ready to take that drastic step yet (or a full system restore and start over).
Anyone experience this type of issue or have any suggestions?

Sadly, I had the issue resurface today. It went into standby/sleep mode while I was in a meeting (on battery power), and later I tried to wake it, and all I got was a black screen with a mouse cursor.
The keyboard brightness and volume keys on the keyboard were responsive (I could hear the audio level clicks as I changed it), but the visual overlay didn't show (where it shows the white speaker graphic with the bar of rectangles representing volume level). Also, the screen brightness keys did nothing.
I finally used Ctrl + Cmd + Power to force a restart. Luckily, my user account didn't get completely hosed like it did a couple weeks ago.
So, it looks like Migration Assistant isn't the culprit here. This is the system I just finished rebuilding. So it's either a bug in OS X/Mavericks, or it's due to an application I have running, or a configuration change I've made.
It seems to only happen when I'm on battery power, for what that's worth. I don't recall it ever happening when I'm plugged in. I have Power Nap disabled while on battery power, btw.
I'm going to enable SSH access so I can try to SSH in the next time this happens. Perhaps that will provide useful diagnostic info.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Serious external drive problems after installing Mavericks

OK, so now I am seeing multiple external drive problems. Here is my setup: A GTech 4TB drive connected to MacBook Pro via Firewire, formatted of 2 partitions of 2TB each (called GT1 and GT2). This is then daisy chained to two WD drives of 2TB each, called WD1 and WD2.
After installing Mavericks everything worked fine (in fact I have an amazing speed increase). However, after restarting my machine this morning I have the following issues:
The GTech is now a single partition called MyBook (obviously a hangover from the WD drives. I suspect the WD drive managment software) with NO data files. Interestingly it shows the following USED 1,106,870,272 bytes (1.11 GB on disk). This suggests that one of the partitions has disapeared completely.
Whilst WD 1 launces ok, WD 2 causes the Finder to relaunch whenever selected, meaning I can't get to the files. I remember having this problem before when I upgraded to SL, and it having something to do with hidden files that needed to be deleted via the terminal. However, I have searched the web and can't find the solution again.
Given that WD 1 and 2 are my backups of GT 1 and 2, then I now have a situation where I cannot access my primary or backup files for GT 2. Very impressive - not!
Can anbody remember the hidden file solution for the finder relaunch?
Can anybody help me get back my GT1 and 2 partitions (as they have the latest work on them)?

FIrewire & Thunder bolt drives are having issues with Mavericks, avoid same until a fix is issued if you can.
many are reporting same, there is a firewire fault and TB HD on external HD from LaCie (Seagate) and from WD especially.
Technicians are looking into it.
Until there is resolution, consider setting up a USB ext. Time machine HD.
Until then consider confining Mavericks use with USB HD.
Ive tested a very long line of USB HD on Mavericks, all seem fine.
Recommend anyone DO NOT ATTACH any WD MyBook externals (firewire, thunderbolt or otherwise).
I dont have same to test, so I dont know if the problem is in the firmware on the SATA bridge or if its a problem with the WD software

Yosemite won't install due to a "S.M.A.R.T. drive problem that can't be repaired."

After downloading Yosemite successfully, it won't install due to a "S.M.A.R.T. drive problem that can't be repaired." It says to back up as much as possible and replace the drive. Everything works flawlessly with Mavericks. What gives??

If you are getting a S.M.A.R.T. error then you should be more worried about losing everything on your drive then about upgrading your Mac OS. Regardless of if you are running Mac OS, Linux, or Windows, you should never just disregard such a drive error. S.M.A.R.T. is designed to give you a warning that your drive is statistically having far more errors than normal and should be backed up immediately and typically replaced.
In your case, it's likely a coincidence that your drive is failing at the time you are attempting to upgrade to Yosemite. You should stop what you are doing, backup your drive (if you don't already have the backups that you should prior to any OS upgrade), and replace the hard drive prior to moving forward.
To make it clear, your hard drive is likely going to fail soon and you may lose everything on it at any moment. This failure has nothing to do with Yosemite or any Mac OS. All hard drives fail at some point. Hopefully this S.M.A.R.T. notice has given you the opportunity to solve a major problem before it gets worse.

Problems with Vista installing driver for

Just bought the 6 G ZEN and have installed the supplied software for the device and when I connect the device to the PC Vista starts to Install Driver Software. I then get an error message 'Device driver was not installed successfully, please consult manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed.'
I also tried downloading the updated software from?the Creative website?and installing this on my PC, however I get the same error message.
When I go in to the control panel and to the device manager, there are two new portable devices with errors:
. Creative ZEN, with error message: 'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 9)'
2. Unknown device, with error message: 'This device is not configured correctly. (Code )'
Hope somebody can help me out with this. (I tried to send this message to support by completing the online email form, however upon submitting the form (URL: http://dmzrespapp.europe.creative.com/kana/FRH) I get a screen saying Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage)

i'm afraid the issue could be due to the pc as the nati've driver on the vista computer might be corrupted.
but to confirm that, you can access to recovery mode to do clean up to have a try.
also you can still upgrade the latest firmware on the xp computer to see the results.

Maybe you are connecting your Omni Surround 5.1 to a USB hub. How about trying to connect the device to another empty USB port?
Maybe you can try to disable your on board sound card in the bios to see if it works.

When you get that message, just select "yes" or "continue anyway" and you should be fine.
