Hi @widoush
You can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to perform such maintenance as printhead cleanings, checking ink levels, and the alignment.
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools
This document explains how to print on custom paper sizes using paper settings options in the printer software.

  • 64-bit Nightly v29 and Firefox v26 under Win7 64-bit are so slow for streaming, achieving only 4% of BW otherwise achieved by the sam firefox under Win7 32-bit.

    Under my Window 7 64-bit OS, I've installed both Nightly Build v28 and v29 to perform "internet speed test" and each time, I can only achieve something < 2 mbps for my home Wi-Fi, gateway router which is about >56 Mbps. The only working Nightly version was v23 that could achieve close to >52 mbps. But once I update v23 to higher version, all the normal high speeds I could achieve at Nightly v23 are gone. The same issue plagued also firefox v26 under Win 7 64-bit.
    For clarification, this is not true under Win 7 32-bit OS - the same firefox v26 works fine to achieve the raw BW speed close to and >56 mbps. WHy not in 64-bit OS seems to be the main question?
    What's going on? I greatly appreciate you looking into and helping me out on this dilemma. Thanks!
    Sincerely
    Shao Ma

    hello Shao Ma, when you are using speedtest.net or a similar flash-based site to measure your connection speed then it might be an issue with the protected mode that [http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/06/inside-flash-player-protected-mode-for-firefox.html adobe has introduced] for its flash plugin for firefox. some old versions of f-secure or trusteer rapport are known to cause such slowdowns together with flash, or it might be something similar on your system that is interfering (maybe security software that is blocking/sandboxing the container used for the protected mode, etc...).
    as a workaround you could try [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071#TemporaryWorkaround disabling protected mode] & see if this makes a difference.
    in case you'd like to troubleshoot the issue further, it would be best to contact adobe's support & file a bug report at bugbase.adobe.com (choose "Adobe Flash Player" as the product & "Browser Integration" as the product area), since they will have a better understanding of the internals of flash protected mode & therefore may know what else might be at the root of the problem you were seeing.

  • I have a hp deskjet 6980 wireless printer. my new laptop is win7 64 bit. offline. any suggestions?

    My old laptop was XP. My new laptop is Windows 7, 64 bit. The printer indicates it is connected to network (ready). When I print from laptop it goes in queue, but get error that indicates printer is offline. Note, that I was initially able to print a few days ago. I never downloaded a new driver, when I recently looked for a new driver I found out there was none to download. Any suggestions.
    Thank you,
    Fred Wilcox

    Hi,
    Please download driver and application from the following site and install them on your new Windows 7 machine. This should help:

  • Header and Footer alignment

    How do I get the header and footer to align to the left and right no matter whether the window is maximized or minimized.
    Example Header:
    (left side) BI Memos                                      (right side) Nisource - Customer Account Processing

    Hi there
    Table is the way to go as stated. What I'm not seeing here is an advisement of creating the table to span 100% of the page width.
    Should be obvious, but better safe than sorry.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Header and Footer in flash

    Ok. This was supposed to be a question about a header and footer in Flash. I intended to attach my fla to make it possible to understand what I was saying. As it turns out I can't figure out how to attach files. Is it even possible? That's my first question.
    Here's the actual question, although it will be very vague now: I have a basic header and footer in Flash that stretch to fill the screen horizontally. It works when I test the file inside Flash (Control>Test movie). But it does not work when I go "Publish Preview" and use the browser. Why is that and how can I sort it out? Any ideas?

    I'm convinced there are better ways to do navigation, but this close to the end I was hoping to just grind my way forward. Somehow I managed to get the second scene working (centered that is). But when I resize the window in debug mode an error is pointed out in the first scene. "Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference". The snippet goes like this:
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, resizeStage);
    var header:MovieClip;
    resizeStage(null);
    function resizeStage(e:Event):void
        var sw:Number = stage.stageWidth;
        header.width = sw;
    And it's the last line here that's supposed to cause the error. Do you see anything apparently wrong? I tried  "var header:MovieClip; = new MovieClip();" but that didn't work at all.

  • Strange gaps in Header and Footer

    Im getting gaps in the header and footer on some of my pages.  Sometimes the gaps are filled with the background color of the colomn and other times they are the body color which is even weirder.  An example link would be http://www.mojogar.com/pcRepair.aspx .  In IE8 I get a gap on top but not  the bottom.  In Firefox3 the gap is on the bottom and not the top.  ???

    /* Tips for this Hybrid layout
    1. Since the side columns em-based sizing is based on the user's default font size, you will want to be sure that background graphics in the columns take that into account. Built correctly, this is more accessible for those that need larger font sizes, since the width of the columns remains proportionate. If this is undesirable with your design, simply change the width to a pixel size and be sure to change the margins on the #mainContent div accordingly.
    2. Since the sizing of side columns in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element, if you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the column widths will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase their widths, and the size of the #mainContent div's side margins, to compensate for this.
    3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing.
    4. The #container div is not necessary for this layout at the 100% width. You may want to use it to create faux columns or limit the width of the layout.
    5. It is not neccessary to have the 100% width on the #container div since, by nature, a div takes up 100% of the available space. It is here so that if you want to decrease the size of the overall container - perhaps leaving a bit of margin on each side - this will already be available for adjustment.
    .thrColHybHdr #container {
    width: 780px;
    /*margin: 0 auto;  the auto margins (in conjunction with a width) center the page if needed */
    text-align: left;
    padding: 0px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-right: auto;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    margin-left: auto;
    .thrColHybHdr #header {
    background-color: #C9F76F;
    height: 100%;
    width: 780px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    .thrColHybHdr #header h1 {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0px;
    /* Tips for sidebar1:
    1. Be aware that if you set a font-size value on this div, the overall width of the div will be adjusted accordingly.
    2. Since we are working in ems, it's best not to use padding on the sidebar itself. It will be added to the width for standards compliant browsers creating an unknown actual width.
    3. Space between the side of the div and the elements within it can be created by placing a left and right margin on those elements as seen in the ".thrColHybHdr #sidebar1 p" rule.
    .thrColHybHdr #sidebar1 {
    width: 13em;
    border-top-width: thick;
    border-top-style: solid;
    border-top-color: #C06;
    float: left;
    height: auto;
    .thrColHybHdr #sidebar2 {
    width: 200px;
    text-align: center;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    float: right;
    /*.thrColHybHdr #sidebar1 h3, .thrColHybHdr #sidebar1 p, .thrColHybHdr #sidebar2 p, .thrColHybHdr #sidebar2 h3 {
    margin-left: 0px;*/ /* the left and right margin should be given to every element that will be placed in the side columns */
    /* margin-right: 0px;
    /* Tips for mainContent:
    1. If you give this #mainContent div a font-size value different than the #sidebar1 div, the margins of the #mainContent div will be based on its font-size and the width of the #sidebar1 div will be based on its font-size. You may wish to adjust the values of these divs.
    2. The space between the mainContent and sidebar1 is created with the left margin on the mainContent div.  No matter how much content the sidebar1 div contains, the column space will remain. You can remove this left margin if you want the #mainContent div's text to fill the #sidebar1 space when the content in #sidebar1 ends.
    3. To avoid float drop, you may need to test to determine the approximate maximum image/element size since this layout is based on the user's font sizing combined with the values you set. However, if the user has their browser font size set lower than normal, less space will be available in the #mainContent div than you may see on testing.
    4. In the Internet Explorer Conditional Comment below, the zoom property is used to give the mainContent "hasLayout." This avoids several IE-specific bugs that may occur.
    .thrColHybHdr #mainContent {
    text-align: center;
    margin-right: 0px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-bottom: 0px;

  • How to change header and footer indents?

    I would like to change the header and footer printing indents to match the indents for the page when I print it, for example 1/2 inch (12 mm) from the left edge and the right edge. While it's possible to set the page indent, it doesn't seem possible to adjust the header/footer indents.
    Why would I like to make this change? The reason is that my laser printer seems to accumulate toner in this space, creating vertical streaks at the left and right edge of the paper.
    This seems to be true of versions of Firefox 3.x to 5.x on Windows 2000, XP and Ubuntu Linux (10.1)
    Other document programs that keep all text at least 1/4-inch (6 mm) from the left and right edges do not create this problem. Is there a work-around or hand-coding I can enter into the "custom" field of the header or footer?
    Thanks

    Thanks very much. This fixed the problem, although it was the "'''...print_edge_..'''" that fixed it in the config file. Now I'm not printing off the edge any longer. (I'm running PostScript.) I will make the adjustment in my Ubuntu Linux and XP systems as well. Would you consider adding this adjustment in the page setup dialog box along with the margins?
    Again. Thanks very much!

  • How do I get rid of the white space between my header and my spry navigation bar?

    I have been grappling with a problem for the past 2 days and cannot seem to work my way around it. I have been working on a page in dreamweaver cs4 that seems to have whitespace between the header and my spry menu bar ONLY in Firefox. Google Chrome and Safari show it correctly. Could you steer me in the right direction for getting rid of that space. Here is the page: http://www.margaritascafe.com/margaritas_layout.html

  • HP Deskjet 1280 Driver for windows 8.1 Pro

    Hi Team,
    I have upgraded my compter operating system from windows 7 professional to windows 8.1 pro now, I unable to install  HP deskjet 1280 printer to new operating system.
    Can you please send me a link to download the driver.
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi @Umesh_kanth ,
    I understand that you need the driver for Windows 8.1. I would be happy to help you.
    I checked the website and unfortunately there isn't any drivers to be able to download for Windows 8.1 for the HP Deskjet 1280 Printer. But you should be able to install the printer with a Windows generic driver. Plug the printer into the computer to see if Windows will automatically install a OS. driver.
    You might have to add the driver manually, here are the steps:
    Go to the start up screen. (tiles menu)
    Type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers.
    Click on Add Printer and follow the steps.
    Select the HP Deskjet PCL3 Class Driver from the list.
    If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Driver for Hp deskjet 1280 for Windows 7 x64, SP1

    I can't find any way to install the driver for my Hp deskjet 1280, printer, not on the site, not in the instalation wizard, anyhwere, I saw on other forums that there were some tips; like using the Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver from the instalation wizard in Windows, which is compatible with the 1280 printer, but there is no Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver, only other models of Deskjet, which I have tried and they don't work with this printer. I hope you can help me.
    Thank you

    HI Slim2,
    I am sorry to say, there is no driver or full feature software for the Deskjet 540 for Windows 7. The only available driver is for Windows XP. You may consider getting a newer printer. I would suggest you call HP. HP might be able to offer you a discount on a newer model.
    The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US , or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

  • Header and footer hidden--how to make visible

    I have footnotes in my Pages document, but the header and footer areas of the page are hidden. If I copy all the text out to a new document, the header and footer sections reappear. Is there a way to unhid the header and footer sections in my document?
    Here is what the header section looks like in a working document. You can see the whitespace and the area between the pages:
    Here is what it looks like in my file where I can't see the header and footer areas. No whitepace, and no space between pages:
    Any ideas?

    It's been many, many, many years since I had to do a paper with footnotes - way back in the pre-computer days of the 60s - but I don't think footnotes go in a footer. But then I'm not sure that's what you're trying.
    The first thing to do is to show the layout & invisibles from the View menu or toolbar button so you can see where the headers & footers are. Then check the document inspector to see if they are set at zero &/or turned off.
