HP Deskjet 3420 on Windows 7 x64 sharing to Windows XP 32 bit

Hi,
I've successfully installed the Deskjet 3420 onto the Windows 7 x64 system. However, I can't get it shared to my 32 bit XP system. When I try to install additional drivers, and I use either the 32 bit Deskjet 3420 XP driver or the 32 bit 3600 series XP driver, it fails saying that the processor architecture isn't supported.
If I just try and install the drivers on the XP system, it complains that the "specified location does not contain information about your hardware".
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

  • Trouble installing HP Deskjet 722c on Windows 7 64-bit on a network

    Hi,
I have a Windows 7 64-bit system and am trying to connect to an HP Deskjet 722c through a home network. My other Windows 7 PCs can connect and print to this printer (it is shared on the network via an old WinXP box) but when I try to install the printer on my 64-bit machine, it says it is trying to download an update and it fails to do so. Please help!

    Hello fladavpam,

  • Cant print banner on Deskjet 6122 with Windows 7 64 bit (with driver HP 990c). Please help

As a teacher, I frequently print banner with my HP Deskjet 6122.  I just got a new computer that has Windows 7 64 bit as the operating system.  THere is no Deskjet 6122 driver for Windows 7 64 bit and I therefore used the HP 990c driver (recommended on the HP site).  While the HP990c driver works fine for regular printing, I cannot print banners as 'banner paper' is no longer available in the paper option for printing.
Is there any way I can print banners with my HP 6122 using WIndows 7? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    THanks

  • How clean print head or install toolbox on hp deskjet 940c using windows 8 64 bit

I want to change the ink cartrige and clean the head and re-align it.
I also want to know the quantity of ink in the cartriges.
How can I install the toolbox?
    I have Windows 8 64 bit.
    Thank you!

    Hi rgauthi,
I am sorry to say your printer does not have full feature software and drivers. You are using an in-OS driver and HP Solution Center and HP Toolbox are not supported by the in-OS driver. You can use the workarounds in the following link. Learn how to use your HP printer with the new Windows 8 operating system.
    Hope this helps.

  • In need of Printer drivers for HP Deskjet 930C for Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise?

Have been Online in HP support and folllowed all steps and that didnt work.  Called HP rep and that didn't work.  Hp still sell the cartridges, so not sure why I can't get drivers for my printer.

You may need to talk to your system administrator.  Many IT departments restrict what drivers or devices can be added by standard users.
If the driver is not available try the following:  Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, LPT1: (for now, will address this later), Next, Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate.  This will take a few minutes, but at this time the Deskjet 930/932/935 should be available under manufacturer HP (not Hewlett-Packard).  At this point hit cancel, then connect the printer's USB and it should be installed automatically.
You could also download the driver from the Microsoft Catalog site.  You will need to use IE for this, other browsers are not supported.  The driver you will want for a 32 bit system is the one 11.4Mb in size.

  • HP deskjet 710c and windows 7 64 bit serial port configuration

    Hi computer people,
Please help, I can't get my Hp deskjet 710c to print with Windows 7 professional 64 bit computer via non usb i.e I am using the serial port connections via computer and printer. Any solutions as to why it won't print ?

    Hello PeterB91,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how you are not able to  print on your Windows 7 computer, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Unfortunately, the only way to update the drivers for your printer on your computer is to connect the two devices with a USB cable. This will allow the installation of Plug-and-Play drivers. According to the Product Specifications for your printer, the only available connection-type is for the IEEE cable.
As a workaround, you may be able to use a USB to IEEE adapter, but this option is not guaranteed.
    I hope this helps!

  • Why can't I print on my Deskjet 710C in Windows 7 - 64 bits.

I don't have a parallel port on my PC, therefore my printer is connected to a PCI parallel card. It is visible in "Devices and Printers" and my PCI card is also visible in "Control Panel". Both, my printer and card are configured to LPT1. Note that my printer was detected by Windows when it was connected. My printer is not the culprit since it prints on another PC with a integrated parallel port.
Despite no conflict in Control Panel or Printers/Devices, I can't at all print using this printer. When I try to print a "Test Page" from the printer's properties, the page is set to the printer, however no document is present in the spooler.
Can someone help? I find it a shame to throw away a perfectly good and working printer.
    Thanks,

  • HP deskjet 3420 not printing color in Windows 7

    Hi,
I installed my HP deskjet 3420  in a PC with windows 7. It is not printing in color. It has color ink. I think it may not be fully functional with 7. Is there any hope for me or do I need a new printer?
    Thank You

    Hi,
There should be no issues with printing on a DJ3420 & windows 7.  I did find a troubleshooting document for colour prints coming out as black & white

  • HP Deskjet 930c in Windows 7 x64

Hi, I'm from Brasil.  I try install HP Deskjet 930c in Windows 7 Ultimate x64.  I don't have sucess.  Any help-me ? Sorry my english.

I'm also from Brazil and I'm expecting the same problem in both x386 and x64 versions. But this solution dind't work for me. When i click "windows update", the system seeks about one minute and then pop up a message saying Windows couldn't take a devices list from Windows Update. Try again later. I don't know whatelse I can do.
OK, it is not quite a direct link but try the following:  go to the Microsoft catalog update site
(you will need to use Internet Explorer, not Firefox or some other
browser).  In the search box select Deskjet 930c then press enter.  There will be several choices presented, the 11.4MB file is the 32 bit version and the 11.6MB file is the x64 version.  You can click on each title and verify which one is the proper architecture.

  • Driver for Hp deskjet 1280 for Windows 7 x64, SP1

I can't find any way to install the driver for my Hp deskjet 1280, printer, not on the site, not in the instalation wizard, anyhwere, I saw on other forums that there were some tips; like using the Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver from the instalation wizard in Windows, which is compatible with the 1280 printer, but there is no Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver, only other models of Deskjet, which I have tried and they don't work with this printer. I hope you can help me.
    Thank you

    HI Slim2,
I am sorry to say, there is no driver or full feature software for the Deskjet 540 for Windows 7. The only available driver is for Windows XP. You may consider getting a newer printer. I would suggest you call HP. HP might be able to offer you a discount on a newer model.

  • Cannot install driver for a HP Deskjet 3420 connected to a PC.

I have a HP deskjet 3420 printer connected to a PC using Windows XP SP2 via USB. I've shared the printer and it works perfectly with other laptop in my LAN. Now I want to share it with me MBP, but I cannnot find its driver in the driver list.
I've chose the HP Deskjet Series, HP Deskjet 340C (Gutenprint), and I have installed the full HP driver from the Leopard install disc. But I still cannot find the driver in the list.
    Could anyone please help me?
    Thanks in advance.

I don't have a Snow Leopard machine in front of me, so I can't tell you how to set it up. I did set it up for a friend of mine awhile ago, but I wasn't paying attention to exactly how, because it's so simple.
Apple does include the HP DeskJet 9800 driver with Snow Leopard, so you should be able to select it for use. I'd read these two documents and see if they don't help you get this setup correctly:
