Hp Deskjet 5525

It showed us to put paper in, so we did. Then it did some noise and wrote me to restart. Then when I restarted it, it did the same noise, like the small wheels got stuck. We inserted ink catridges and paper, once maybe 10 papers went trough it, but every second was rumpled.

Hello,
Please check if the model is Photosmart 5525. If yes, you can try removing the input tray and put it back and ensure the tray is closed properly. Open the cartridge access door, remove the cleanout door and fit it back properly. The below document should help you guide that. Hope this works.

  • Deskjet 5525 Server Connection Error 403

Hi. I am accessing my Deskjet 5525 printer using a Google Chromebook and Google Cloud Printer setup. I am not able to scan. All is well in the scan sign-in process until I hit the 'Document' icon and the printer attempts to connect to the server. I then receive a 403 error message.
I have deleted the printer from my Cloud setup and added it again. I have powered down the printer to reset it, as suggested in another post on this board.  Neither of these steps work. The printer shows as being connected to my wireless router and provides an IP address and a MAC number.
Any suggestions you may have about how to enable scanning will be appreciated.

I did a Wireless Device reset and now the scan process is working. No help needed.

  • Deskjet 5525 Server Connection error 403 - scanning documents

I cannot scan and send documents/photos to email or computer. It is connected wirelessly to internet, but keeps coming up with Server Connection Error : 403. I have reset to factory settings on the printer, but no change.
What do I do, to be able to scan? My computer is a Mac using OS X Yosemite

    Hi @ FF9451,
Welcome to the HP forum. I see you have two separate yet similar issues with scanning.
I would like to help you with these issues.
I just want to doubble check, is it a Deskjet 5525 or Photosmart 5525?
The first issue i would like to address is the scan to email. This one is the same with either a deskjet or a photosmart.
Lets start off simple, so unplug the printer while it is turned on. Might as well turn off any computers, tablets and smart
TV's also. Then unplug your router for a minute.  After the minute, plug the router back in. Depending on the router it can take few minutes to rebuild the network. While your waiting plug the printer back in. you will notice the blue wireless light is blinking. When it stops blinking your printer is on the network again.  Try the scan to email, if it does not work, the printer might need a manual DNS.  This post: Efax 7510 still won't work, from happytohelp01, I have found really well done, so go ahead and check it out. I know every EWS (embedded web server) is laid out differently so if you need any help let me know.
The second issue is scanning to the computer. Here i have a few questions. are you using Apple scan or HP scan?
Is the Hp software installed? Have you removed the printer and then added it again?

  • Deskjet 5525 printing random characters, one line per page when printing both sides of page

Hi. I have a deskjet 5525 wireless all in one printer.
I have installed all of the necessary hardware and have updated it. We have two computers running windows 7, 64 bit. I have not been able to update the firmware on the printer because the HP Device Updater program that does it cannot communicate with the printer via usb cable or wireless on two different computers I have tried.
When trying to print two sided documents, it will print ok for about two pages, but then, it will start printing on line per page of random characters, blurred lines of text, gargabe basically.
This is the second printer as the vendor replace the first one with the same problem. You would say, oh a software problem, but I have reinstalled the HP Deskjet 5520 series SW a couple of times, reinstalled the printer, but the problem continues.
An old HP deskjet 3845 worked for us pretty well on the same computers.
    Please help.

    Hi Onemangosta,
I would like to help with the garbled text you are experiencing. I have found a great document for you to use and I can also help you with the firmware update.
Troubleshoot text that might be gibberish, nonsense, or look garbled or scrambled
In order to update the firmware on your printer ensure the printer is on the wireless network and touch the Web Services icon (this icon is the 1st of the 4 that run across the top of the front panel - looks like 2 little cell phones). Scroll through the Web Services menu, find and select Product Updates, select Check for Product Updates.
If the printer is already up to date the front panel will say so, if it is not, the download and install will begin. It is possible you were unable to do the update form the computer because the printer does not need an update. The HP Device Updater will only see a printer that requires the update.
    Hope this helps.

  • New ink cartridges in Deskjet 5525 but black won't print or prints in light gray

I installed new ink cartridges. Black prints as very light grey or not at all in some instances

    Hi @rhare
I see you are having troubles with your black ink.
Please complete all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages Although I hope this resolves the issue, it might not. As you have a 5525, If the issue persists, I would suggest calling HP Phone Support, even if your printer is out of warranty, as you may require a replacement printer.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525, 18 months old, is not printing black.

My HP Deskjet 5525 is not printing black.  I am FURIOUS. I've just put another new black cartidge in: still not working.  How do I get the cradle out to rinse it?  So many users seems to have this problem.
I have URGENT stuff to attend to - please help a.s.a.p.

The printhead is not removable on the Deskjet 5525 printer but the document here may help resolve black not printing.
For urgent printing you may want to select "photo paper" in the paper/quality setting tab of the driver.  While not a fix, it will allow printing the black sections using the color cartridges.
I will ask to have one of the HP Support agents take a look at this thread, they may have some additional suggestions.

  • Hp deskjet install

    Good morning
Can i uninstall and install again the program for hp deskjet 5525?I think,i have install wrong the program.i can t conect to internet, server and eprint. Is it something wrong with my ip adress or user name or email adress.
        Thank you.

    Hi keats,
Thank you for becoming a member of the HP Support forums.  I understand that you would like to uninstall and re-install your Photosmart 5525 as you are unable to connect to web services to setup the ePrint feature of the printer.
You don't need to uninstall and re-install the printer to get the web services to work, however if you would like to uninstall and then re-install the printer please do so.  I have included documents on how to do this.
From your other two posts on the forums I understand that you already have the printer connected to your wireless network.  That's excellent!  To get the web services to enable please set a static ip address for the printer. I have included a link to another post with screen shots on how to set the static ip.  Don't worry that the screen shots are for an Officejet 8600 the steps are the same.  Please note that along the left hand side menu if you don't have "IPv4" you should have "Network Address (IP)" or "Network" on the left hand side menu.
Once the static ip is set you should have no problems connecting the web services to set up ePrint.  I have also included a document on how to customize the printer's ePrint email address.

    Thanks
    Nirmal

    Hi @nirmal007,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum!  I understand you're having cartridge issues with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you with clearing up that error state and have some troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue.
I recommend you try the following steps before you consider purchasing a new black ink cartridge.  Firstly after you've confirmed that your ink levels are not the problem (example - the level is above 10%), try a 'hard reset':
    Secondly:
Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly vented and seated correctly
If the vent on the top of the ink cartridge is clogged or obstructed, the ink cartridge might not work properly. Follow these steps to make sure that the ink cartridges are properly vented and seated correctly.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already turned on. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
Open the cartridge access door. The carriage moves to the access area.
Figure : Open the cartridge access door
Press the tab on the front of the cartridge inward to release it, and then pull up on the cartridge to remove it from the slot.
Figure : Remove the cartridge from the slot
Examine the vent area on each cartridge, above the HP logo on the top of the cartridge.
Figure : Vent area on the top of the cartridge
If the cartridge still has the orange pull-tab attached, pull to remove it.
    Figure : Orange pull tab
If the vent is clogged, use a straight pin to gently remove excess adhesive from the vent.
Figure : Clean the clogged vent with a pin
    Clogged vent
With a straight pin, gently remove excess adhesive from the vent
    Unclogged vent
With the nozzle and contacts facing down, slide the cartridge into its slot. Press down on the cartridge until it clicks into place.
note:Make sure that each cartridge is installed in the correct slot. Match the shape of the icon and the color of the cartridge with the slot that has the same shaped icon and color.
    Figure : Reinsert the cartridge
Repeat these steps to inspect the vents on each of the cartridges.
Make sure that each cartridge is firmly in place in its slot. Run your finger along the top of the cartridges to feel for any that are protruding, and if any are, press down firmly until each cartridge snaps into place.
    Close the cartridge access door.
Figure : Close the cartridge access door

Thirdly, try cleaning your cartridge contacts:
Manually cleaning the print cartridge contacts
Follow the steps below to manually clean the print cartridge contacts:
Gather the following items to clean the contacts:
Distilled water (tap water may contain contaminants that can damage the print cartridge)
Cotton swabs or other soft, lint-free material that will not stick to the print cartridge
    Open the print cartridge door.
Remove the print cartridge and place it on a piece of paper with the ink nozzle plate facing up.
     caution:
Do not to touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzle plate with your fingersFigure : Do not touch copper-colored contacts
caution:Do not leave the print cartridge outside the printer for more than 30 minutes. Ink nozzles exposed to the air longer than this may dry out and cause printing problems.
Lightly moisten a cotton swab with distilled water and squeeze any excess water from the swab.
Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts with the cotton swab.
caution:Do not touch the ink nozzle plate. Touching the ink nozzle plate will result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until no ink residue or dust appears on a clean swab.
Insert the print cartridge in the printer, and then close the print cartridge door.
    Source
If you've tried all of the above noted steps and you're still unable to use the black cartridge, you may need to pick up a new one.  Let me know if this helps.  Best of luck!

  • Compatible ink replacement 564 for a 5520 series printer

I have a HP 5525 of the 5520 serie. I  replaced the 670 original cartridge with a 564 (compatible with 5520 on the package). Now i am getting an incompatible cartridge message.
Why and how to fix it?

    Hi,
No, 564 is not compatible with Deskjet 5525. 564 is compatible with Photosmart 5525. Please use the following table:

Hi, Lately I changed my home modem router to a Cisco EPC3928 and cannot connect the printer to it. If I leave my wifi without a password, I am able to connect the HP printer wirelessly. When I set a password on the router, I cannot manage to connect the printer. Tried with the WPS button, tried by manually entering the SSID and password but still nothing. How can I solve this problem because I can't leave my router without a password. Thanks in advanced.Regards,Keith

    Hello rinah,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Sorry to hear about the carriage issue on the new Photosmart 5525 you bought a few weeks back. If you have gone through the advised troubleshooting: A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays on the Control Panel, then your best option would be to call HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If the printer was just purchased, you would still be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

  • Hp deskjet ink advantage 5525 - fails to use or configure WiFi port "CN2AK1BC8B05SX"

    HI,
my printer can't print the documents I want to make it print.
I'm trying to write down the problem as clear as I can.
First: when I want to print something just nothing happens, although the documents can be seen on the printer's list as awaiting documents.
Second: usually nothing happens, but once a window popped up after a certain time, with the warning about 'cannot comunicate via port CN2AK1BC8B05SX' or something like that. Unfortunately, I couldn't produce this "Error message"
    since it first popped up.
Third: I have tried already to configure somehow this port - "it can be chosen from a list of available ports" but each time I ran into a message  "an error has occured during the configuration, operation cannot be completed
    (error: 0x0000007b)" or likewise.
Fourth: it's funny but "loading information from device" works fine, the Printer Assistant starts and I can use it wihout any problems except that I can't configure that "mysterious" port as you can read above.
Fifth: since the first occurance of the error  I' ve several restarts but it couldn' help. The printer asked for an 'IP refresh', but either I made it wrong or it makes no sense in this situation. Certainly I have already tried to solve this 'IP refresh' and also followed the guidance about this topic.
Please tell me how this problem shall be fixed. Thx

Hi, since then I've refreshed the driver so it's the most up to date now but the problem still hasn't been solved.
    Any suggestions?
