HP Deskjet 600C with USB adapter & Windows 7 won't print

Windows 7 recognizes the printer, and says it is OK. It installed the driver. Test Page failed. Printing a simple text document failed. Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to print - do jobs stay in the queue? If not does the printer go through the motions of printing but fail to put ink on the page? If so then try printing a test page from the printer as shown here. If that fails then the issue is the printer or the print cartridge. In that case I would suggest running the cleaning cycle as shown at the link above.

Unfortunately, the failure code for the hard drive is fortelling you of what is to come. In my opinion I would address the solution by the following specific actions:
1: Back up any data that can be accessed from the original drive, onto an external hard drive. To minimize the risk of losing any information.
2: Replace the failing hard drive, before it gets to the point of complete failure. This may also prevent loss of personal data.
and 3: Decide whether you want to upgrade/restore Microsoft Windows 7 onto the pc. That particular pc has current drivers available online at HP Support for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
Once this has been completed, then you can recover any personal data that was backed up to the external hard drive, onto the newly installed hard drive.

Trouble connecting to internet with usb adapter

I have a D-Link wireless usb adapter (DWL-122) that I have had for nearly a year with no problems until just recently. In the wireless preferences window it shows that I have a connection to my wireless network. However, when I try to open my web browser I get a message saying the server is not found. I am unable to access the internet in any way (itunes, instant messengers, etc.) as if i have no connection. If anyone has any idea as to what the problem would be I would appreciate any feedback. I am at a loss for ideas because as far as I can tell I appear to be connected to my network.

I was about to order the very same USB solution you are using, but then checked with a friend who's a network admin for the local diocese. He advised against this as a reliable solution & wanted me to just string a long wire. The wife acceptance factor nixxed that.
After checking the user reviews for this device on the Amazon site I found that there were many other Mac users who had been experiencing dropped connections using several different USB units like this one.
Your post doesn't say how far away from your router your iMac is positioned. Distance might be an issue for you, but not likely.
I presume you've already done the things your ISP would have suggested -- like resetting your modem, diagnosing software setup on your computer to see if anything there has changed, or repositioning the router?

While charging my IPHONE 4S with the USB adapter supplied along with iphone the power line gets blown up every time and I am left only with the option to recharge through the USB port of my laptom.Any remedy?

Have you tried other outlets? That may be an electrical problem in your house, worse case scenario. Try other USB wall adapters.

Problem with USB adapter

I have a Linksys Usb adapter to wireless connect to my Linksys router. I had been using a Netgear usb adapter but it was limited to WEP security. So I bought the Linksys G so I could go to WPA . The problem is the sometimes it doesn't want to connect. Especially if you have to re-boot a couple of times. Is there anything that can be done?

Click start >> all programs >> Linksys wireless G adapter >> click uninstall >>
Unplug the adapter >> insert the disc for the adapter >> exit out of set up wizard >> replug the adapter back >> Install only the drivers of adapter ....

Using Sharp MX2310u with mavericks and it won't print

The HP Jetdirect protocol is the default protocol used by Windows, where it is called Standard TCP/IP or RAW Port 9100. So the advantage of creating the printer queue on the Mac using this protocol is that it is often enabled in the copier and it does not require a specific queue name like LPD can sometimes require.
To check what options are installed, if you know the IP address the Sharp is using, then you can enter this IP address into a web browser as the URL. This will connect to the internal web page of the copier and from one of the provided menus you should be able to see what option kit the Sharp has.

Problems with USB on Windows Vista - Satelltie A210 (PSAFGE)

I just bought myself a new notebook - Toshiba A210 - 15Y (PSAFGE) with Windows Vista preinstalled. The problem is that the notebook doesn't want to work with any USB devices. Whether I try to use a simple USB stick, a mp3 player - he always asks for drivers. The first time I connected my mobile phone via USB it all worked.
When I tried it for the 2nd, 3rd etc. time it doesn't work. He always asks for drivers. Ok, so I installed the drivers for the phone - but the problem wasn't solved by this.
The Card-Reader is another problem - when I tried to use a SD-Card, he again asked for drivers.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

I'd advise you to reinstall Vista using the recovery cd that came with the laptop. Also, check in the device manager whether all the devices are installed correctly.
Come back if the problem persists, we'll think of something else.

Laptop won't power up with AC adapter and won't charge battery

Here is the thing.
1) the laptop doesn't power on without a battery when directly connected to ac adapter.
2) the light which would indicate that the laptop is plugged into the ac adapter is not on when the ac adapter is plugged in.
3) the battery charge light is also not on, which would indicate the battery is being charged.
The battery does not charge... Laptop turns on the battery backup mode, but not on ac adapter connection. I tried connecting the battery to another compatible hp laptop (both my laptop and the other test device support same battery models). It was charging fine on that laptop. And when switched it back into my laptop, laptop was running fine, but it does not charge in my laptop. But ac adapter is fine too. So whats the issue? And what can I do to get it sorted?
My laptop is not on warranty anymore. But i replaced battery 4 months back, so its not a fault with battery or the ac adapter.
The AC adapter is fine, tested with other laptop.
The battery is also new and works fine

I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-2004tx Notebook and issues with the battery not charging. Here is a link to calibrate and test the Battery. Calibration should eliminate this issue. Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.HP Battery Check in HP System Diagnostics for Windows 8, would give you details of charging and discharging.Testing and Calibrating the battery using HP System Diagnostics in Windows 8. At the starting of the Notebook, Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics. Then choose Component Tests, then battery. If the battery was purchased from HP it could be in warranty. How did you prep your flash drive? If you're booting in legacy (not UEFI) mode, it should be NTFS (for Win 7 anyway, haven't tested Win 8) with the active flag set. If you're booting in UEFI mode it should be FAT32.

Touch persistently crashing - problems with USB/iTunes/Windows 7?

Hi!
I received a 64gb Touch for Christmas and have a persistent crashing problem. The Touch appears to be randomly crashing across any app or even just playing music - there seems to be no common link. This could be once in a few hours or repeatedly 4/5 times in succession.
It's possible I have a faulty unit but wonder also if I may have an issue with updating/syncing as any sync that takes a reasonable amount of time disconnects and reconnects several times. I had this on my 1st gen Shuffle also - it's almost as though something is disconnecting the USB port and then reconnecting it. I'll mention at this point that I have no other USB related issues - I can run a backup of several hours to a USB harddisk and have no issues and no other USB device has had any sort of problem. If there is a USB issue, it's only happening with iTunes and my iPod(s).
My theory then is that the initial upgrade of the Touch to 3.1.2 on first sync is being corrupted in some way because of the disconnecting issue and that then is causing the crashing as the os is unstable. The Touch has been reinstalled 3 times since purchase and each time having the disconnection issue appear and the resulting persistent crashing.
Hopefully someone can tell me I'm wrong/right in my theory and maybe suggest a way I can fix the disconnection problem so I can at least try a clean reinstall of the Touch and see if that solves the crashing problem before I send the unit back.

I bought my iPod Touch 32gb last week and as soon as I plugged it in iTunes told me to update to v3.1.2 (came with v3.1.1 installed.) I accepted to install v3.1.2 and it finished installing then restarted. It flashed up in iTunes then disconnected and the ipod went blank, then came up with the apple log for about 1 or 2 minutes, then flashed up again in itunes. It then kept restarting and dissapearing. I left it doing this for about 15 minutes then unplugged the usb lead. It then restarted and all seemed fine.
I had put a couple of albums on. Then I sorted out some more music and done another sync & the **** thing got stuck in the restart loop again.
This was on my laptop which has Windows vista.
I then thought maybe the update to v3.1.2 had gone wrong so i reinstalled it on my main pc. It didn't get stuck in the restarting loop so I thought I had solved the problem. I put my music on my main pc (Windows 7) and done a resync and the blasted thing got stuck in restart loop again.
My son bought his 8GB touch this week and his came with v3.1.2 allready installed and he hasn't had a single problem with it. I hadn't downloaded any apps for mine but he has loads of them and it hasn't crashed once.
I am taking mine back to the shop tomorrow as i have had it less than 10 days.
Am not sure what it is but it is very annoying. I hope the replacement i get works properly.

Can I charge with USB adapter before use?

Just got an iPod nano! Woop woop! Question is...before I even think about turning it on or plugging it into my computer, is it OK to charge it with the iPod USB Power Adapter before connecting it to a computer for the first time? Or should I charge it on the computer? What do you recommend?

No problem at all to charge nano before connecting it up to a computer.

Droid will not connect with USB to Windows 7?

I recently upgraded to a RAZR M and can not connect to my PC with the USB cable. I have tried cable that came with phone and others and get the same message that USB driver did not install correctly. The phone did an update of the operating system less than a week after getting it so I am not sure what is up.
Also tried the MTP and PTP settings to see if that made any difference without help. I know my last phone had a setting for mass storage USB and I do not see that on the Droid.
Anyone else have this problem and been able to fix it?

Not an answer for you, yet I had this issue on my new Razr HD. The SD card was sort of accessible, I could transfer one file and then the directory info and transfer would get all goofy... However, on the HD there is an option for mass storage. It just needs to be set. Refer to the manual. Out of the box mine was set for MTP. Once it is set to mass storage it is not accessible by the phone (to find the stuff you transferred as mass storage) until you go back to the same menu and set it back to MTP.

HT1476 4s does not seem to respond when plugging with USB adapter

I've had my 4s for about 3 months and suddenly yesterday it wouldn't recognize when plugging in the adapter to charge it. I don't think that I'm having a battery issue but more of an issue w/ the sensors recognizing the adapter. Has anyone else had this issue?

Perform a hard reset and see if it fixes the issue.

Made a DVD with iDVD and Windows won't read it.

Says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer. Does anyone know how I can get an iDvd DVD to work on Windows machines? Thanks for any help.

• Use a Good brand - Not NoName or Memorex - I only use Verbatim
• I use DVD-R (as they play on more players - even old ones)
• in iDVD Pref I set down burn speed to x4 - LESS Burn Errors ! Important !

Iphone 4s was completely powerless. On charge now, but screen is showing itunes logo with power adapter. Won't respond to anything else. Even tried rebooting and restarting. Comes back on with same thing on the screen

My iphone 4s needed recharging, the battery was completely dead. Recharging now bit all thats come on the screen is the itunes logo showing a power adapter. I've tried rebooting and switching off and on. Still showing the same thing. Will not respond to any other actions

if its showing the connect to itunes screen(itunes logo and power cord) then that means your phone needs to be restored. you'll need to hook it up to your computer and restore it thorugh itunes.
