I have a deskjet 1010 printer.  I have a toshiba satellite laptop.  I have windows 7.  i just bought this printer.  I can print from the internet no problem, but it will not print anything from a pdf file, microsoft word, or excel.  I have reinstalled many times, using the usb, and the disk and the internet.  I have installed new drivers, etc.  I have tried EVERYTHING.  Nothing is working.  Please help.

    Hello randrinchina,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some printing issue from microsoft word and excel.
I suggest that we start off by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  If the Doctor fails, please let me know where it fails as well as any error codes that it generates.
Write me back when you have time and I will be happy to help.

  • My printer (HP Photosmart D7360) won't print from my computer.

When I try to print something like an Open Office  (.odt) or Word (.doc) document,  I  get no error message, it just doesn't print. The same thing happens when I try to print out recipes that I've downloaded, or e-mail. When I go to "printer settings" I get a message that says: "No default printer found. Please choose a printer and try again."  When I click on OK, I get a screen up that says:  "Printer Setup/ Name: (((hi-lited)))HP Photosmart D7300 Series/ Status: Default printer; Ready/ Type: HP Photosmart D7300 Series/Location: USB001/ Comment: (((none)))" Below this are 4 buttons, (Options) (((alone on the left))), (OK) and (Cancel) (((Center right))) and (Help) (((alone on the right))). If I click on the "OK" button, the screen disappears, and nothing else happens. Exactly the same thing happens with the "Cancel" button. The Control Panel/Devices & Printers screen shows the HP Photosmart D7300 series as the default printer.  Without questions, I don't know what else to say. This is a great pain in the butt.

    Hello @CBJack,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing issues when trying to print from certain programs on your Windows 7 computer to your HP Photosmart D7360 Printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this printing issue. It does appear that there is a driver conflict occuring on your computer. That may mean that your driver is not correctly installed, or the correct driver is installed but certain programs aren't 'agreeing' with that driver. I will be running you through some troubleshooting steps below to isolate this issue and resolve this issue. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
Step 1: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool:
To start troubleshooting I am going to have you download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix printing' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you. Please click here to download the Tool. Once the Tool has downloaded please run the 'Fix Printing' option under the Tool. Once the Tool has completed please test printing again. Should no issues be found under the HP Print and Scan Doctor, but the printing conflict still occurs, there is likely a driver issue occuring between your printer driver and the programs that you're experiencing an issue printing from. Please proceed with the steps below to resolve this.
    Step 2: Alter Driver:
I am going to have you install an alternate print driver on your HP Photosmart. Once the alternate driver is installed I will have you test printing to verify if the issue is resolved.
    Click on your Start menu
    Select Devices and Printers
In the Devices and Printers folder right click on your HP Photosmart D7360 Printer and left click on Printer Properties
Left click on the Advanced tab
    Left click on New Driver
When the New Driver window opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of Manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
Select HP as the Manufacturer on the left
Select Deskjet 9800 as the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 doesn't appear than select 'Windows Update' on the bottom left and once the update completes you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next to complete the New Driver Wizard
Under the Printer Properties window select 'Apply' but don't hit OK
    Select the General tab
Rename your printer back to HP Photosmart D7360 Printer
    Hit OK
Lastly, right click on your HP Photosmart D7360 Printer one more time and left click on Printing Preferences
Left click on the Paper/Quality tab
Left click on the 'Normal' dropdown for Print Quality on the bottom right and change this to Fast Normal
    Hit Apply and OK
Now that the alternate driver is added in please try printing from the programs you were previously experiencing issues with.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Best of luck!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g won't print from applications from IMac OS 10.7.5

Just had a software update today, now it won't print from applications (Excel, Word, etc).  I've done all the troubleshooting in the exact orders and have also shut everything down, reinstalled, turned off router, etc.  Don't know what else to do.  Prints out printer status report, Wireless network test results shows that no problems found, congratulation on the successful setup of your wireless printer.  IP addresses on wireless and printer are similar.  Looked all over forum, but couldn't find a solution.  Printer is not even 2 months old.  Doesn't make sense.  Seemed to stop  printing after we used the scanner, not sure if that is an issue for any reason.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Open the Sharing pane in System Preferences. If the Computer Name is not set, enter a name. You may first have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings.

  • Won't print from rear tray

I have a Pixma MG6220. No matter what I do it won't print from the rear tray from a source on the web. I go to both the quick setting and main tab and select "rear tray." Still prints from cassette. I took out the paper from the cassette. Won't print unti I load paper in the cassette. I even selected a different paper than plain paper and selected rear tray - but it still printed from the cassette.
I selected "continuous autofeed" for a default, removed paper from the cassette - and it still wouldn't print from paper loaded in the rear tray.
It will print from the rear tray if it's a document originating from my computer (or at least I just tried that and it worked). I did not change from plain paper, I only had to select rear tray.
Yes, I realize "save the document to your computer" will be a suggestion, but the website won't let me. It's a "free printable" that is not downloadable.

    Hello.
The issue may also be related to a setting in your web browser.  Check to see if your browser has a Page Setup option.  This menu may be controlling the paper feed setting.
If the issue persists, please try using a different web browser to test the unit.

I'm having similar problems with my Epson Stylus DX5000.  There was no in-built driver available (the generic old and new Stylus drivers didn't work), so downloaded the latest driver from Epson site.  It shows as being available to print to, but just sends data to the print queue then job disappears.
I hope you're right C F McBlob, I could do with printing today but if there are new drivers available from November 5, then so be it.

    Hi @jillehorn,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Deskjet 1510 will not print from the internet. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help you with your printing concerns!
For further assistance, I will need some additional information:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make a test page. Video: Printing a Test Page - HP Deskjet 1510 All-in-One Printer
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you can print from any other programs, such as NotePad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).
In the meantime, please see this general printing guide, Print Jobs from Your HP Printer are Stuck in the Print Queue. (Even though the guide title may not match your issue, I believe the solutions will help.)

  • HP 4500 won't print from my Dell Inspirion Laptop

My new HP 4500 wireless all in one printer won't print from my Dell Laptop running Vista Home Premium. It did for awhile but
only if I left the printer on. The IP address kept changing for some reason. Now, it will not print from my Dell laptop at all. It will
print from desktop computer running XP but it is connected via a USB cable. This printer is definitely not "plug and play". Anyone
have any ideas how I can get it to work with my laptop?  I bought this wireless printer for that reason only.
    Best Regards,
    Mike

It looks like the printer is not on your network properly.  The clue is that the printer's IP address is 169.254.x.y.
You are running a ADSL connection, right?  Who is your ISP?
Turn off the printer and your computers and finally turn off the Netgear router.  Unplug the telephone line (this is important) from the Netgear, wait 30 seconds and turn on the Netgear.  Wait another 60 seconds and turn on the printer.
What is the IP address of the printer now?  If it starts with 169.254.x.y, then the printer is not properly on the network.  If you got a different IP address (one that starts with 192.168.x.z or starts with 10.x.y.z), turn on one of your Macs (but leave the telephone line disconnected).
Open the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address.  Select Networking and then Wireless (802.11).  Under the IPv4 Configuration tab, select Manual IP:
For Manual IP Address, use the existing printer IP address plus an offset.  For example, if the printer's IP address is currently 192.168.0.5, then use 192.168.0.30.
For Manual Subnet Mask, use 255.255.255.0
For Manual Default Gateway, leave blank.  This is important.
    Select Manual DNS Server:
Leave both the Manual Preferred DNS Server and Manual Alternate DNS Server fields empty.  This is important.
    Press Apply.
Turn off the Netgear wireless-router and reconnect the telephone line.  Now turn off  the printer and all computers connected to your network.  Wait 60 seconds then turn on the wireless-router and then turn on the printer.  Then turn on the computers.
Finish up by installing the SW on the Macs.  Since you're running Snow Leopard, simply go to the Print & Fax System Preference and press [+] to add the printer.

    Hello,
Is your printer connected to a wireless network with Internet access?
Do other web services work on the printer? Meaning, can you use ePrint or the Printables on the front panel? (printables = apps on the printer like Disney, Menu Planner, Quick Forms, and so on.)

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you cannot print with your HP Officejet 5745 on your Windows 10 PC, and I am happy to help!  To verify the printer's hardware is functioning, are you able to make copies from the scanner glass? Copying Documents or Photos with an HP ENVY 5640, 5660, 7640 e-All-in-One, HP Officejet 5740 and 8040 e-All-in-One Printer Series. Have you completed the hardware setup before trying to print from the computer?
