  • Print panel on hp deskjet in windows 7 64-bit

    Hi!
My customers had problems with print.panel to printer method in windows 7 64-bit so I made a simple standalone application which prints a VI panel to default printer (zipped project is attached). I'm using Developer Suite with Labview 12.0f3 (32 bit) on Windows XP. The application has been deployed to computers running windows 7 (64 bit) and windows XP (32 bit) and tested with different printers: local and network. There is a list of printers where the application does not print the panel on windows 7 (64 bit): HP DeskJet D4360, HP DeskJet 5550, HP DeskJet 5652, HP Photosmart C3180 and PDF Complete (an application which converts document to PDF). The application does not report any error, everything seems normal. The document is sent to the printer, usually printer heads start to move for a moment, in one case the paper is taken from the drawer and that's all. There's no need to say that all this printers work normally with Winword, Notepad, Excel, ...
My application prints a VI panel in Windows 7 (64 bit) without any problems if I use: Canon IR2200, Toshiba e-STUDIO 2500c, Samsung ML-2240, HP LaserJet 5L, HP LaserJet P2050, PDFcreator, ....
ALL printers, including HP DeskJet models, work normally  in Windows XP (32 bit).
According to the post here  the printer margins in my application are set to a value of 3 cm because it might solve the problem but it does not help.
    Any other suggestion?

    Dear Ljubo!
I'm glad that it has worked for you, I hope your clients will have the same success. As I've found, incompatible printers on Windows 7 64bit is a known issue, and will hopefully be fixed in a later version of LabVIEW. I'll be sure to include your input (which printers worked and which did not) on the case.
Also, it seems to me that both the Invoke Node and the Library Call use the same function to accomplish printing; however, the Node sets the "show print dialog" input automatically to false, hence the lack of printing options (this makes sense from a programming perspective, since if we want to print programmatically, additional user input at every print job is most likely unwanted). Please get back to me when your customer has results, if something is still not functioning, we might explore some other workarounds.

  • DeskJet 870Cse & Windows 7 64-bit driver

The online info for driver downloads for the DeskJet 870Cse says that Win7 already supports the necessary driver and instructs me to connect the printer via USB cable to the computer.  However, my printer has only a parallel port (for PC) and a MAC port ... no USB port.  In any case, the printer is on a LAN-based print server and I just want to install it via a standard TCP/IP port (as I do on all our XP machines currently).
    Is there a solution?
Thanks for any help or tips.

Dumb question - which is "the appropriate port"? USB or LPT1?
    DVEJr
It depends...  If you have an actual parallel port on your computer it would likely be LPT1:.  Most Windows 7 computers do not have a parallel port.  If you are using a USB- Parallel converter cable then it is more difficult.  In this case the port may be USB001: (or perhaps USB002: or some other USB00n or the USB-parallel cable may provide an emulated LPT port such as LPT3:.
The USB-parallel cables can be problematic, to work they need driver support in Windows 7.  The thread here (toward the end) has some examples folks have posted about cables they have had success with.  OK, to make the cables that work easier to find I have tagged them with W7_USB-Parallel.  There are undoubtedly others that work, I have also heard of good results with Belkin and Sweex cables.  Be sure to check the cable to make sure it is rated to work with Windows 7.

  • Wireless setup for deskjet 3050A - windows vista 64-bit

When attempting to set up wireless printer it advises to temporarily connect a USB cable.  When I do this the computer hangs and won't advance.  The first time I attempted to install it said my password was wrong.  I've not been able to get back to that point where it asks for a password.  I've tried re-installing, restarting, etc. and nothing seems to work.

  • Vista driver for deskjet f2180 on Windows 8.1

I have a new Windows 8.1 desktop (64 bit), a Vista laptop (32 bit), and an HP F2180 printer/scanner. F2180 is connected to desktop via USB, is shared, and works fine from W81. I can't get it connected to the Vista laptop.
On the desktop, when I check the box "x86 Type 3 - User Mode", I am told to find the driver. Any idea what the file name and location are?
    TIA.

Hello there TIA, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about your Deskjet F2180 not functioning on your Windows Vista system. I would recommend (from the Vista laptop), running the full driver installation. This should install the driver properly on your laptop.
Here is the link to the driver: HP Deskjet F2100 and F4100 Full Feature Software and Driver

Hello I am an employee at HP and I just replied to another person on the same type of problem.  I don't know if you already did this but I had the same problem on a different printer and it worked for me.  You have to have the printer turned on and hooked up to your PC and then do a Windows Update.  With Win7 update the process will see that you have the printer and need a driver and should give you the option to download it.  You can then select it and download it and it should work.  Here is also the text from the HP website.  I hope this works for you.
NOTE:When you connect the USB cable to the printer, and then to the computer, Windows 7 activates Windows Update. Windows Update searches online for the most recent product driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more recent than the driver stored in Windows 7, the computer downloads and installs the updated driver. The Windows Update process takes place automatically. Therefore, you might not notice that the process is in progress.

  • Trouble installing HP Deskjet 722c on Windows 7 64-bit on a network

    Hi,
I have a Windows 7 64-bit system and am trying to connect to an HP Deskjet 722c through a home network. My other Windows 7 PCs can connect and print to this printer (it is shared on the network via an old WinXP box) but when I try to install the printer on my 64-bit machine, it says it is trying to download an update and it fails to do so. Please help!

    Hello fladavpam,
Sometimes it can be tricky to share a printer from XP to 7. Check out the following links for instructions on how to do so:

  • HP Deskjet 6122 Driver Compatible with Windows 7 32-bit

I need to find out how to update the driver for my HP Deskjet 6122.  We upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit and the only instructions I can find show using a USB cable from the printer to the computer, and the HP Deskjet 6122 does not have a USB cable nor does it have anywhere to plub on in?  Is there another way?

It should work OK, since PSE is a 32-bit application, and Win7 can run applications in "Compatibility Mode" using the settings for earlier versions of Windows.

  • Deskjet 2610 disconnection and lights flashing, Windows 7 64 bit, wireless router

I have a Deskjet 2610xi All in One printer that is connected with an ethernet cord to my Netgear wireless router. I am using two Toshiba laptops both running Windows 7 64 bit and both are connected wirelessly. I did not have any problems printing before I installed the new HP Solution Center Software and the fix for Windows 7 connectivity problems from the HP website.
I installed the new driver because I couldn't use my old cd and driver from my original puchase to install the HP software on our new Toshiba laptops. After installing the new driver and software, I now had the functionality of the HP Solution Center and I could now scan, copy etc. with the new software. Not too long after that, my printer started disconnecting and all the lights would flash. The screen on the printer shows error 0x887dd03a. If I press the start button, I can get the printer reconnected for a short amount of time and my print jobs will go through, but it always goes back to the flashing.
I ran the HP Solution Center software to check for updates and was notified of the critical update for Windows 7 reliability. I installed the update, but the problem still exists.
I searched posts on this forum and one of them told me to allow the printers to be shared on the homegroup, which I did, but the problem still exists. I then found another post that told me to do a semi-full reset on my printer, which I did, but the problem still exists.
As mentioned earlier, my printer works as long as I press the start button to get the printer connected again, but it goes back to the error message and flashing lights again. I would like to keep the new software since it allows me to scan without being hardwired to my printer, but if I have to uninstall it, could someone please explain how I can scan documents on the printer directly to my computers wirelessly?
Also, I don't understand the whole Homegroup, Workgroup and Network Sharing settings, etc. so if that is the issue, please walk me through it step by step. I am not sure what the settings are now.
FYI, I went to my Devices and Printers and I see HP Photosmart 2600 series and HP Photosmart 2600 series (2) icons. The one for series (2) is the one checkmarked on both computers.
I am not a computer whiz and so I would appreciate any responses to be very basic. I have done all the research I can and still have the problem described.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had a real problem with wireless performance on multiple ThinkPads with Win7 until I realized there is a new (or maybe changed implementation) power setting in Win7 which was affecting it.
If you go into Control Panel -> Power Options and click "Change plan settings" for your current power plan.
On the next screen click on "Change advanced power settings"
On the next screen expand "Wireless Adapter Settings" and then "Power Saving Mode"
Make sure it is set to Maximum Performance.
Not sure if this will help your particular problem but hope it does.

  • Deskjet 5150 driver for Windows 7 (64 bit)

I have recently added a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) to a small home network and want to be able to use the existing Deskjet 5150 printer. The printer is attached to a desktop that has Windows XP.  How can I get a driver for the windows 7, so that I can also print from the laptop via the network?

Try the following: on the Windows 7 machine go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, then click on Windows Update and then select the Hewlett-Packard HP Deskjet 5150 series.

I have a DeskJet 979Cse. ever since I got a new computer with Windows 7 (64 bit), every color print has a green tint.
I've tried changing the color management profiles and calibrating the monitor, but I still get a green tint on every color print. The image looks fine with the correct colors on the monitor, but when I print it out I get an image with a distinctive green tint.
Other than this disturbing color problem the printer works normally.

Say Thank you Microsoft. MAPI, the tool used for most of the "mail magic" in windows is depreciated and not included in Windows 7, it can be made to work on 32 bit Windows 7, bit 64Bit such as I have just does not play. Microsoft Office, word particularly is hard coded for Microsoft Outlook, so sending mail from Word is quite difficult.
My solution has been to Dump Microsoft and use the Free open source LibreOffice. I don't have to do battle with the ribbon either and that is a god send.
