HP deskjet F2280 printing problem..

Good day guys! here's my problem. when i tried to print a document, this message will always appear --->
i try to fix this problem. but when i checked the printer, there's no paper jam...i found out that my cartidge wasn't moving..can you give me idea how to fix this?..thanks in advance.. ^_^

Does this occur with every line printed or only on the last line of the page?
If you change the print quality to "best"  does that clear up the issue?
If the answer to either is "yes" then try cleaning the cartrdige contacts as shown here.

  • G3 Pismo Powerbook and HP Deskjet 3325 Printing Problems

The problem is that the Deskjet fails altogether to print sometimes. The error message tells me to allocate more memory to the printer. I do so but this does not help at all. I have 128Mb virtual memory turned on in addition to the built-in RAM of 128Mb.
Might the problem simply be lack of RAM? There does seem to be plenty of memory available if I look at ‘About this Computer’
In order to try and solve this problem, I have updated
    OS 9.1 to 9.2.1 to 9.2.2 successfully
downloaded and installed the latest printer driver v.6.4 from the HP download site
I now have two options, among others, in the left-hand window of the Chooser:
The old printer driver called something like Deskjet 5.3 and the new printer driver called Inkjet 6.4
If I select the former, which is what I always did in the past, the Deskjet 3325 printer appears in the right-hand window of Chooser, I select it (with AppleTalk inactive) and then the document sometimes, but sometimes not, prints OK.
If on the other hand, I select the Inkjet 6.4 driver in the left-hand window, no printer at all appears in the right-hand window. If I just continue from here and give the print command inside, for example a Word document, the print dialogue appears, I click on print, but am then told that I have selected a model called HP 6670, which is the wrong model of printer, and must therefore select the right model. The Inkjet Printer Utility does not offer me the option of selecting the right model viz the 3325, or indeed any model.
It may or may not be relevant, but I have Word 5.1 and Word 98 on the G3. Printing problems seem to occur far more with Word 98 than Word 5.1.
I would be most grateful for any help. Thanks.

Well. I'll answer my own question in case anyone is interested.
    Uninstall the HP printer drivers.
To do this, delete all references to HP in the Extensions, Disabled Extensions, Preferences and Startup folders, all of them in the System folder, by selecting them, dragging them to the Trash and emptying the Trash.
Then do the same with all references to HP items in the Applications folder.
Download and reinstall the most-up-to-date printer driver avaialble for your printer from the HP website.

  • HP Deskjet 6940 Printing problems

    Hello,
I have recently purchased a HP Deskjet 6940 which I have owned for only 1 week. Problem is that when I try to print digital photos or just high definition pictures, even pictures from a digital camera, the printer seems to crap out on printing the photos. The quality is horrible the resolution is disturbing. Basically the printer doesnt print the pictures on par with what I expect it to. The lines are all over the paper the colors don't match, its weird. Normal pages I can print but when it comes to photos the printer just doesnt do the job. Any suggestions on what is wrong with my printer, for I do know something is definitely wrong with the printer because it does have the capability to print photos neatly and accurately. Thanks.

  • HP DESKJET 2540 Printing Problem

Good evening everyone, I'm a professional that working in the computer industry , but alas this time are messed up with my work .
The printer in question is a product that I give regularly , I will have installed a dozen , this today is really nasty . I completed the installation as always , the printer , when I send something to print from the PC , not the press , the beauty is that does everything as if he had printed , ditto if I print a test page . The printer is ' USB connected to the PC . Converting the door and turning it into a network printer, the IP they can control work it on the Web page , but if I put the IP as a TCP / IP port is the same as with USB .
The scanner works perfectly from PC .
If I send photos in Wireless all work perfectly even those from IPHONE IPAD etc.
I tried HP SCAN AND PRINT DOCTOR , gives me an error in STEP DRIVER , but the driver is updated at last for the system I use, if I give him the test print from internal it give me the press !!! only by them can then print with the pc .
And ' absurd all this . Anyway the PC in question is a pc just a year with Windows 8 64-bit a colleague has an idea ?

Does this occur with every line printed or only on the last line of the page?

After checking around some more (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2555552), it looks like the problem may be in my Carbon Printing Manager, and the only solution may be to archive and uninstall. Is there any way to get around this?

  • HP Deskjet 5740 printing problem

Something has changed and I can't figure out what happened. I like to print on two sides of the paper. So, in Word 2004 and Text Edit, if I want to print three pages of text, I go to the Print Dialog box. I first select From Page 1 to 1 and print that. Then I turn that page over and select From Pages 2 - 3. That has always worked for years, on all printers, until today. Now, every time I do that, page 3 always prints before page 2. Doesn't matter if Collated is checked or not.
    What's wrong with this picture?

I called HP support 1-800-474-6836 and got a Mac guy who explained that it's all done in the Copies and Pages of the Print dialog box. It's by default set to Automatic, which prints pages in reverse order. To do what I want: set it to Normal and Save As...(name of Preset). That's a good way also to change any of the default settings.

  • Printing problem on Deskjet F2280 connected to JetDirect en3700 (Scanning works)

    Hi,
Recently acquired a JetDirect en3700 and after updating it to the latest firmware release (V.28.22.FF?) hooked up my trusty Deskjet F2280 to it. The printer is detected by the print server and I can scan pages using the Web UI but I can't print anything, even the test page button (the physical button on the en3700) doesn't produce any output.
I've installed the network printer on Windows 8.1 x64 and Debian Wheezy and while they can both see the printer, no output is produced when I send pages down to it.
When I connect the printer to both machines using USB I can print pages without an issue.
Here's the main page on the Web UI, stating that the printer is 'Online':
    And the full configuration page:
    Any thoughts/comments?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Follow the HP Print and Scan doctor by selecting Fix Printing and check if that may make any difference.
The tool can be downloaded from the following link:
    http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e016-1&h_keyword=dg-PDU
I would also suggest trying the following Fixit by Microsoft and check if that may help resolving the issue:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/printing_problems/en
If the issue persists follow these steps and check if that may help:
    Unplug the USB cable.
Uninstall the printer by following Start > Programs > HP > HP Deskjet 2645 > Uninstall.
Click both the Windows Logo and the R keys of your keyboard. the Run dialog appears.
    Type Spool and press OK.
    Open the Drivers folder.
    Open the x64 folder.
    Open the 3 folder.
Rename the HPBXPSRENDER.DLL file into HPBXPSRENDER.OLD
Reinstall the HP software and try printing again
    Hope that helps,

  • Airport Extreme Printing Problem with HP Deskjet.

Hello ... I wonder if any helpful folks can assist me with my printing problem? I am using Tiger on a new Intel imac with a HP Deskjet 960C. This printer is listed as having the latest drivers included within Tiger and works perfectly when connected via USB so my problem I guess is not with the software....I have disconnected everything and plugged everything back together again. I also deleted the printer from the printer list within the Printer Setup Utility application.... The imac recognisies the printer and upon pressing the print button everything feels as though its just going to work. The blue barber shop scroll appears but the printer fails to kick into gear and I get the big red exclamation mark appearing in the status box .... I would really love to try and sort this annoying error ... Any ideas? Thanks. Book G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Hello jds17. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations.
Take a look at one of these iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility links, depending on which AirPort base station you have:
o 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or AirPort Express Base Station (AX)
o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.

  • HP Deskjet 3050A wireless printing problem with Macbook Air

Hello, I have a HP Deskjet 3050A printer that I have been using with my MacBook Air (2012 OS X 10.8.3) until a few weeks ago when it seemed to hang when trying to print and then say no printer found (even though it showed and was selected in the Printer options). So after a few weeks of this I decided to to remedy this issue once and for all by deleting the printer and 'refinding' it.
However, upon 'refinding' printer by adding it through System Preferences no printer is found - I have updated all Macbook air software.
All this time I have been able to continue printing wirelessly using my iPhone 4S and have changed no settings to the iPhone or 3050A which leads me to believe the proble the problem may lie with the Macbook Air?
Can you help resolving this please? Thanks

What router are you using?  Have you restarted it by pulling its power plug momentarily?
If that does not work, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Finally, reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

HP posted a workaround for this problem while they were working with Microsoft to get the root cause of the problem, many customers commented that the workaround helped them out and they were able to print. This workaround was not easy to use as the customer needed to add another printer manually and changed drivers.
We can now announce that the problem has been fixed, the problem involved a Microsoft Network component that HP was using to talk to and track the printers on the network. This fix is being rolled out by Microsoft via Windows Update and anyone who has Windows Update enabled and set to automatically install updates should have already received this update. For those that do not have Windows Update setup to automatically install fixes the fix is available now and should be installed.
The details of this fix and a manual method of installing it can be found here.

This fix is only designed for users that are using there printer on a Network (Wireless or Wired) and will not fix partial printing problems encountered with USB connections.

First, I would suggest you uninstall the exsisting driver and reinstall following one of these documents to see if it will clear this error message:
Install HP print and scan software on a Windows 8 computer (32-bit and 64-bit)
    Universal Print Driver (no scan)

  • Problems connecting DeskJet 2542 printer to my laptop computer

I recently bought an HP DeskJet 2542 printer to replace my broken one.
Everything went well on the installation up to the point where I attempt to connect my printer to my laptop, which has been frustratenly unsuccessful.
I have tried both wirelessly through the network and wired through a USB connection, but neither work.
Upon further investigation, I find that the 2540 series software driver for the connection between PC and printer isn't even installing, despite several attempts.
I have repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the entire printer software, but even when it says that the installation is completed, it still fails to connect the printer to my computer.
Furthermore....I recently discovered that my laptop printer connection runs through Windows' "WSD Print Device", which has been prompting me via Windows Update for a software update....but everytime I run it, it fails due to a "300073EB" error.
My laptop is an Dell Inspiron N5040 running Windows 7 - 64 bit. Only changes I have made is to double the RAM memory from 4 GB to 8 GB by adding an additional memory chip.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I simply return the printer back.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Well....I am happy to report that I have finally got my printer installed correctly, and it is working properly.
It turns out that the problem was a corrupted register key in the Registry folders where my printer drivers are stored was blocking the installation. I had to delete all the register keys in the folder where they were stored, then rename the folder in my spool folder where the relevant driver files were stored to "deactivate" it.
For those interested: here are the relevant steps I took:
    1) Obvously, back up your registry first just in case.
    2) Temporarily disable the Print Spooler service through the Services tool in Adminstrative Tools (click on the "Stop" button after right-clicking on the Print Spooler listing, then clicking "Properties".)
     3) Open Registry Editor (by typing "regedit" on  your Start searchbar), then right-clicking on "regedit.exe" to log in as Administrator.
    4) Using the left side nested folder directory, scroll down to this folder in the Registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3
(For 32-bit Win 7 machines, replace "Windows x64" with "Windows NT x86".)
Look for the subfolder underneath where the corrupted driver is located (in my case, "HP Deskjet 2540 series") and right-click and delete it. (Note: you could also do the same to all the other driver folders listed there, but you would still have to reinstall the services after you reboot. That's why you need that backup.)
    5) Next, get out of the Registry Editor and, using Windows Explorer: locate this folder in your root (C:\) directory:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3
(This assumes you're using Win 7-64 bit; for 32 bit, replace "x64" with "W32X86".)
Rename the folder marked as "3" to "3.old".
    6) Now, go back and restart the Print Spooler by using the same procedure as 1), except clicking on the "Start" button. (If your Print Spooler is set on "Automatic", though, you could skip that process, since rebooting will restart it automatically.)
    7) Finally, reboot, and reinstall your printer software either using the attached CD or directly from the HP website.
It may simply be that an earlier install of a previous printer corrupted the keys enough that it was blocking the installation.
Justice and resolution may grind slow, but with a little investigation, it ultimately does grind. Thanks for your help....and you may consider this to be "SOLVED".

Probably one of the famous "all in one" printers from HP (I have the 1350 PSC one). The problem is the driver is written using .NET, and is really crappy and makes certain assumptins about your computer configuration. Check to see if you have several conflicting versions of .NET framework installed.

  • HP deskjet 960c printer stair-step printing problem

Hi there, my printer used to work beautifully. Now when it prints it I get a stair-step effect. ie it starts OK, then the image moves up by a millimeter, then another millimeter etc etc. It's very annoying. It does it no matter what I print, text, images, pdfs...
Can anyone throw any light on this, and what I might do to correct it? I'm on a G4 quicksilver using os x 10.3.9. Printer driver is up to date as far as I know.
    TA!

    Kathykate,
    We're still reading--
Ooooh these printers, I could scream!
I can be very frustrating at times. Especially when you have intermittent problems.
First, I switched the usb cables around, and that
    didn't make a difference.
It was a thought. We can pretty much rule out a bad USB cable now.
    Then I installed the
gutenprint drivers. They printed out my images in a
not very clear kind of pointalist dots type way, my
type was no longer clear, and the colours were not as
good as before and anyway, it still stair-stepped so
    I uninstalled them.
Interesting that the printing is "pointalist". My old HP 870 also uses the PCL 3 driver from Gutenprint. Text is great. I really don't use that printer for images, however. I have noticed a blue shift in the tones. The fact that the printer is still stair-stepping with these drivers would point to the printer malfunctioning. Especially as I look back over the previous posts and noticed that the stair-stepping seems to have increased in displacement.
But I noticed something in the
gutenprint set up where it talked about respooling
your printer? Basically you had to go into file
sharing and click printers to file share and this
    reset something.
I don't recall seeing that. Do you recall what part of the documentation that was in?
Did 4 prints and no stair-stepping!
Thought I'd cracked it! Of course the next one
stair-stepped... Have also tried the usb cable
directly into the back of the computer (it's normally
    plugged into a belkin hub).
So that one is completely unsolved, still random
    stair-stepping.
All indications seem to point to this being a hardware issue with the printer. The only other test I can think of is to try it on another computer. A Windows box would be a good choice. I know the option of trying things on a different computer is not always possible. I just hate to condemn a printer to the trash heap until all possible avenues have been explored.
My big 1125c is also still a 'mare. When it prints,
it's great, no stair-stepping. But my mac keeps
    losing the connection to it.
Again, the frustration of a sometimes problem. I don't have any good advice here. We have seen this type of problem before and there doesn't seem to be any one thing that helps in all cases. I have three printers. My Epson SC 800 which is connected via a parallel to USB adapter has this problem. I have not found a solution for it. My other 2 printers never skip a beat.
Haven't yet run Apple Hardward Test disk (think I
have it somewhere) although tried the Printer Setup
Repair mentioned and that hasn't seemed to help.
I would still recommend that you give this a go. There still could be a problematic USB port on your computer that is causing some of the problem.
PS Have today posted another question about something
in terminal saying 1 thing is stuck, see below,
that's nothing to do with this is it?
    Processes: 59 total, 4 running, 1 stuck, 54

  • HP Deskjet 1510 - Printing Issue

    Hi,
Sorry if I have entered this in the wrong place but I am new to the forum.
My father has purchased a new HP Deskjet 1510. He has a Toshiba Laptop running off Windows Vista 32-bit.
I have used the installation CD provided to install and also downloaded the latest HP Drivers from the website as prompted.
All appears to have installed correctly  and I am able to print all types of documents except word documents. (PDF's, Screengrabs, HTML pages etc.) When I print a word document, the printer goes through the motions but prints a blank page in the end.
I am also able to copy & scan documents in both black & white and colour.
I have tried various troubleshooting applications (HP Print & Scan Doctor, Windows Print Fix etc.) and all say that the printer and settings are all in working order.
I have also removed and reinstalled the printer but the problem remains.
I have also installed the printer on my own laptop (Dell Inspirion running off Windows 8) but the printing from word issue remains.
I am at my wits end and would appreciate if someone could provide some assistance.
    Cheers.
