HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 Orange Exclamation Point Light error

Hi,
My printer doesn't work after my brother scanned his documents.
When I plug it on, I only see this "Orange Exclamation Point". My laptop can detect the device but it doesn't print anymore.
Printer model: HP Deskjet Int Advantage 2515
OS: Windows 7
Hoping for your fast reply.
Thanks

Hi there @OwitiGOmolo, Welcome to the forums!
I hope to help you with the issue you're having with making copies from your Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515. If we can get the copies to work successfully, we will then move on to connecting the printer to your PC. We must troubleshoot hardware problems first, to make sure the printer is in good working condition.
I am thinking there may be an issue with the ink cartridges. This guide below will give you instructions on how to troubleshoot a cartridge issue. Please try all of the steps and do a power reset and make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power.
HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2510 All-in-One Printer Series and HP Deskjet 3510 and HP Deskjet Ink Advan...
Reset Instructions:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
When you are done the above steps, try to make a color copy from the front of the printer and let me know if the copy worked successfully.
Click the kudos (thumbs up) button below to say thank you for my efforts to help out!
Have a great Monday, I hope to hear from you with the outcome!

I'm using HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 printer since last 17 months. Suddenly the print quality started deteriorating though the ink level indicators show that it still have enough ink left in both color and black cartridges (3 and 2 points in left and right indicators respectively are still balance). Please advise how to identify if I need to take a new pair of cartridges.

  • Hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 printer scanner copier.

    To Whom it may concern,

    Hi suresh123.
I understand you have a Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 printer that you'd like to use with just the color cartridge. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this.
Your printer definitely has the ability to print with just the one cartridge, as indicated in your printer's User Guide (on page 28) , but you do have to remove the black cartridge to do this. If you have removed the black cartridge and it still won't print, I would certainly recommend checking your ink levels (page 25 in the User Guide) to make sure the color cartridge has enough ink. If it does have plenty of ink please reinsert the black cartridge, close up all of the access doors and then pull the power cord from the rear of the printer. Wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in. Once the printer is settled, try removing the black cartridge and see if you can print with just the color cartridge again.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • My HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 is not working

Hi, Good day! I am from the Philippines,I have a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 All-in-One Printer. I tried to copy or scan a document however I did not succeed. I replace the ink, but still no luck. The Power light, Attention light and the Media error indicator are all fast blinking. I tried to Turn the printer off and then on again (after 60 or more seconds) but the issue still persist.
    Please assist.

Just an update, the printer won't respond to any manual command (scan or copy). Once I press one of the said buttons the power button will just blink (which indicates that the printer is busy). I connect the printer to different laptops (one WIn 7 and one Win XP) but they can only see the ink status of the printer. All transaction like printing (no output whenever I print), scan (error in communication whenever I tried too). Last week everything is working fine.

  • HP 301 cartridges compatible with HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 All-in-One Printer

    Hello,
I would like to to ask you to assist in  Case Number : 3015257645, where I have explained I have bought a HP 301 combo ink cartridge pack (black + tri-colour) and I understand that it is possible to make it compatible with HP Deskjet 2515 through a regionalization reset proceedure.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
The HP 301 ink cartridge are not intended for any printer of the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Series, it cannot be used with the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515.
The printer series is only available in specific countries, for Europe you may use the HP 650 ink cartridges for the printer, if those are available in your country (those are not avaiable in any european country but mostly in Eastern European countries).
Please let me know what country you have moved to, I will do my best to guide you further as possible.

Welcome to the HP Community @Namilka ,
I understand you are noticing a "0x" error code on your Deskjet Ink Advantage 3520, and I wanted to reach out. Normally the error message means that the printer is experiencing an Ink System Failure, Printer Failure, or a failure with the printhead. As you have already tried resetting the printer and the error comes back, I would next recommend contacting HP directly at the information below to see about a replacement unit.

  • Re: How do I reset HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 ?

i moved to another country and i brought my hp deskjet 2515 all-in-one printer with me. hp 650 cartridge is not available here in philippines and i searched what ink cartridge is used in this printer model in philippines and i found out that hp 678 is used here instead of hp 650 cartridge. can i use the 678 ink cartridge immidiately?
. hoping for your reply. tnx!

@143hp  - You will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

  • Hp deskjet ink advantage 2515 all-in-one printer

i bought an hp 2515 all-in-one printer three months ago and encountered a printing problem. i went to the hp support and troubleshooting center here in our city to avail the one year warranty service. they checked my printer and told me that it cant be fixed or repaired, instead they replaced it with another printer but is a different model from what i originally have. is it okay if they replaced my printer 2515 all-in-one with 1515 all-in-one printer because they were out of 2515 all-in-one pirinters?

Generally if a replacement unit having same or higher configuration is not available of the same product series (2515 AIO in your case), then another printer model may be offered.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage won't perform printing and scanning

    Good day,
I have HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515. While I'm scanning a document yesterday, there's an error saying:
"Scanner communication cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and  ensure your network is functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again."
I've checked all the possible errors yet the error keeps coming back.
One more thing is when i'm printing a document, it says that the Device is busy though i'm not performing any action.
I've tried restarting my computers and used other computers to find out what's wrong with my device.
Hope you read my concern as soon as possible.
    Thanks and good day again.

    Bump.
Just want to know if someone can help me with my case?
    Thanks.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625e Refuses to Install

My printer is an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625e (4620 series). Firmware Version: CAP1FN1451AR
First, this is what I can do with the printer:
Print internal ‘Test’ pages and reports.
Print documents in all applications from a wireless, networked laptop.
    Print documents using ePrint.
My computer is an HP Omni All-in-one Running Windows 7 Home Premium X64
The issue is I am unable to (re)install the printer on the HP Omni using either ‘Add Printer’, HP downloads or the installation disk.
    Hoping for a definitive solution.
Background: Just over a week ago I upgraded from Office Pro 2010 to Office Pro 2013. When I went to print I noticed the dfautl print was showing as One Note 2013. I selected the HP printer then hit print. I got an error message: Word Cannot Print this Document. There is no printer installed.
I tried to print using NotePad and an Adobe document (thinking it may have been Word related only). This did not work. I could print from any application using the Desktop. But, as noted, I can do so from the networked laptop.
On opening the Printers folder OneNote was set as the default. I changed the default to the HP printer. No luck. I was told it was not installed.
I ran Malwarebytes Premium and Microsoft Security Essentials to check for possible incursions. None.
I then tried System Restore. No change.
I then tried to repair the print program. No change.
I then uninstalled Office 2013. No Change.
I then tried the “Add Printer” function. No Luck. I was informed: “Unable to install printer. Some files are missing or incorrect. Reinstall the driver or try using the latest version.” (Screenshot 1)
I then tried to reinstall the printer. First as a straight reinstall then second after doing a complete uninstall using Revo Professional Uninstaller and an Advanced Scan.
This did not work, yet the printer is recognised as being on the wireless network during the reinstall process (Screenshot 2).
This is what I Cannot do: (Note: during any install attempt I disable both Malware Byes and Windows Security Essentials. I have also attempted installs with the Firewall turned OFF.)
Cannot reinstall on the system. It refuses to allow a wireless network installation even though it shows on the install screen (Screenshot 2).
If using ‘Add Printer, it says files missing or incorrect (Screenshot 1).
If installed using HP Download, I am able to input IP Address but it does not show the copmupter name. It says either. “Computer’s Network Name: Retrieving’ OR ‘Computer’s Network Name: Unable to Retrieve’ (Screenshot 3 & Screenshot 4 respectively).
When install fails, I get the screen asking to search for a solution (Screenshot 5) which then gives me instructions re a download ‘Helper Application’ (Screenshot 6).
After attempting to follow those instructions, the downloaded ‘solution’ does not work (Screenshot 7).
Instead of trying to install over the wireless network I have tried using the USB Install process. The printer then only installs as a ‘Fax’ Printer. On checking the Device Mager – Show Hidden Devices – it shows a ‘Multifunction Device’ with a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to the driver. On checking, it says I need to reinstall the driver.
Any attempt to convert the USB connection (even though it only installs as a fax printer) to a wireless connection fails.

    Hi @jindo53,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for a very well detailed post! From what I have read, I understand that your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625e is refusing to install either as a Wireless or USB connected printer, on Windows 7. I am sorry to hear this, but I am happy to help!
Please take a look through this guide, 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays for the HP Officejet 4620 e-All-in-One and HP Deskje....
Tips to avoid wireless connection issues
The following tips can help prevent wireless connection issues. You might need to experiment with each of these tips to secure a successful wireless connection.
Move the product, the computer, and the access point (router) closer together.
Remove any metal objects that are between the product, the computer, and the access point (router). Objects such as refrigerators or metal bookcases can interfere with a wireless transmission.
Move any device that emits radio signals farther away from the HP product. Devices such as microwaves and cordless telephones can interfere with wireless transmission.
Accept or allow any firewall pop-up messages that display during the software installation.
If you connect to a virtual private network (VPN), temporarily disconnect from the VPN during the HP software installation (see your VPN software for further details).
If you have MAC address filtering enabled on your router, you will need to add the HP product's MAC address to the address filter list. You can find the MAC address on the Network Configuration Page. Follow instructions for your router to add the address.
If that does not help, please try the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.
Disable any firewall programs. Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 7).
Reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
If still unsuccessful, proceed to back up your files, and reinstall Windows 7.
Hope this information is helpful, and thank you for posting!
