HP Desktop All In One F2120 Paper jam error

as far as i can see i don't see any paper jam inside.
i can't find a definite solution to this, any help from anyone?

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution? I have two lights in the resume section, and the one blinking is the on that looks like a black water drop. I thought it might be the ink, and I just went out and bought a b/w, and color cartridge.  That didn't work. I've opened and looked through the back and the front, and I can't find any paper. I read somewhere that I should delete the software, and re upload. I deleted it, and thought I had the software...yep, I don't dummy me. Now I need the software for it...it always seems to happen when I need it most. I've also noticed that everything stalls to print, when I use quick print.

When I print envelopes thatb are not a standard size I get an error before each envelope prints saying the paper size does not match up.  I make sure I enter in exactly the size of the envelope but it still stops before eacvh envelope.  this is so annoying when I print a 100 envelopes at a time.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Receiving a false paper jam error message for a 6310 all in one printer

I have an hp 6310 all in one printer.  It is showing a false paper jam error message with no paper in the printer.  I have tried all  of the fixes that have been suggested on the website as well as on you tube to no avail.  Nothing works, I have cleaned all of the parts that have been suggested to clean and reset the printer. I am still receiving the same paper jam message with no paper in the printer.  Does anyone have any suggestions to try to fix this printer.

Do you here any clicks or other sounds when the 6310 first starts up?
I'm trying to fix false paper jam error on Sharp Fax/copier,F0-4450.
When researching the problem, found suggestion that a bad solenoid could cause that error.
After completely disassembling the copier found that wasn't the problem.
I here 2 clicks during start up that sounds like gear slipping a tooth, as if something is preventing a shaft from turning.
    Back to the drawing board.
UPDATE!!! Took fuser out, turned gears with screwdriver til 81/2x11 paper went thru, lubricated ends of fuser roller with powdered graphite lube.
    3 page fax came thru.

  • Paper Jam error message due to broken gear on Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer

3 year old HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer (haven't used it much). Keeps telling "Paper Jam" although there is no paper jammed anywhere (searched meticulously with a flashlight after watching HP's tutorial videos on how to clear paper jams). I started searching on the Internet and found a couple of related videos on Youtube that pointed me in the right direction:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMFW1RRlDHEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwbF2Vs_0gQ  I could hear a clicking noise on that area of the printer each time I turned it on, so I carefully took the black cap apart that was hidding the gear, and confirmed I had the same problem as in the youtube videos above. See picture below showing the white plastic gear part that has a large crack which causes the Paper Jam error message and renders the printer unusable. After Googling a little bit, seems like a relatively common issue and wonder why such a part like that is not made of a stronger material like metal (planned obsolescence maybe?). Does anybody know if there is a way of replacing the broken gear?  (I really care for the environment and I would like to avoid having to throw the relatively new and expensive all-in-way printer away) Thanks a lot in advance for the advice!

Hey ,  Thanks for posting in the HP Support Forum.  I do see that a cracked gear in your HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer is impeding all functionality.  I would like to help you with this but that particular part is not replaceable.  I recommend you reach out to our tech support team to find out what servicing options you have available. You can click on the following link to initiate a case: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Once you fill out the online form to create your case you can choose from different direct contact methods. I hope this helps. Regards,

  • False paper jam error message on Officejet All-in-Ones

I've been helping a not-so-techie friend with his J6450 false paper jam errors.  He's now on his second one (got replacement from HP) and has same exact problem.  (We think the paper sensor is getting stuck and causing error message.)
His problem is by no means unique.  I have looked at customer reviews for this printer on many vendors' websites, and have seen horrible reviews of HP's all-in-ones because of the false paper jam error message.  By the way, none of the suggestions here seem to fix the problem, so don't waste your time uninstalling and re-installing the software.  The problem is mechanical.
With so many posts regarding false paper jam errors on these HP All-in-Ones, HP should replace these printers with a different model that does NOT have this problem, if such a model exists, at no charge, of course.

I have just spent the last 3 hours thinking I have been overlooking paper somewhere in my J6450 after consistently getting a paper jam error.  Of course my warranty has expired!  Just wondering if it would be worth fixing OR NOT?

  • HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are a problem

HP Photosmart 2610 All in One Printer   Paper feeds OK but the software and sensors are not allowing paper to feed until several steps are taken first.
(I am using Windows 7.  I also use the virtual XP mode and mostly MS Office 2003 docs).
I have had this printer for several years and love it.  Before I toss it out, I thought I would check if I could get it to work properly before I buy another printer.  Note: I did put in a new HP black cartridge (because it was out of ink) but the printer was not working properly for several days before I changed the cartridge. The printer was at step 5 before ink change.
Lately, each time I turn on my printer, I have to go through the same routine
    1. The printer wants to align the cartridges so I push OK
    2. The paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing.
    3. Error message appears that it is out of paper.  So I press OK to continue.
    4. It says "aligning print cartridges" runs through 2 sheets of blank paper without trying to do anything and then states "cartridge alignment failed"  "Press OK to continue"
    5. Screen is now normal and it appears it is going to work.
    6. It makes no difference if I used the copy function OR when I send a print job from the computer, the paper feeds into the printer and stops at the exact place to start printing but nothing happens.
    7. Error message appears that it is out of paper. OR that it is the wrong size paper.  I pull the paper that was at the proper place to be printed from the printer and then the error message says "Paper jam.  Press OK to continue"
    8.  I press OK.  The printer will then quickly feed in and eject 2 sheets of paper before it will actually start printing the print job.  It will work fine after this as long as I print from the same document.
    9. If I want to print a different document then I have to start all over again at step 6 to get the printer to work.  If I shut the printer off I have to go back to step 1.
    What I have already tried
    A.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver direct from HP web site.  I have done this several times with both the basic driver download and the complete package download.
    B.  I have done a partial reset by unplugging the printer, and then re-plugging the printer while pushing the  "# and 3" buttons while turning on the printer.  I have done this several times.  Each time it will work fine until I try a different document of turn off the printer.
    C. I have downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor and used it several times.  It states that "everything checks out OK"
    D. I have downloaded the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility 4.0 but it does not work with my printer.
    E.  I have cleaned all the rollers and blown air throughout to make sure there were no bits of junk in the paper's path or blocking a sensor.
    F.  I have tried different brands and weights of paper (all 8½  x 11) but nothing works.
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the virtual machine so I could print XP files.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer being on.
Thanks for looking at my issues.  Any help would certainly be appreciated.

I just tried using Notepad as you suggested and had the same result.  Paper feeds in stops at proper place and error message "out of paper"
I just put in two new HP ink cartridges because the other two were low and I was told that this might be the problem.
I seem to remember that the HP 2610 shows 2 "ink icons" in the lower left corner.  One for black and one for color.  The ink icons would change from completly full to just an outline as the amount of ink went down.  Currently the black ink icon is missing
This is a very frustrating problem because the printer works great after doing a few steps to get around the problem.  The fact that the problem reoccurs any time anything is changed is the major problem
Most of the problems started when I added the printer to the Windows 7 virtual machine so I could work with Windows XP programs.  This may just be a coincidence because the printer still has the same problems when I use the copy function without the computer even being on.
I want to thank you for all of your efforts.  Perhaps this is a unique problem that will never be solved and it is best to take my losses and buy a new printer.  As a last chance, if possible, could you refer my post to someone who is an expert with the HP 2610 printer.

  • HP Officejet 4500 Desktop All-in-One Printer - G510a and Windows 8.1

The drivers for this do not seem to work on Windows 8.1.  Whilst I can print no problem I cannot access the solution centre from my new laptop and i cannot scan.  It gives me the message No scan options refer to device documentation to troubleshoot.  It works fine on my old laptop which has Windows XP installed.
NB i have tried installing from your website and when i click on install it runs for a few seconds then sends the error message that it cannot find the file.
Does this mean that the HP Officejet 4500 Desktop All-in-One Printer - G510a is not fully compatible with Windows 8.1.  Help please I am getting very frustrated.

    Hi amp229,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your are getting the specified file cannot be found error, during the installation.
    Please try the following:
1.) Check that IE pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer. Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: frequently asked questions.
    Then try the install.
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning". Turn off real-time scanning.
    Then try the install.
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Then try the install.
Hope this information helps, and have a great day!

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m paper jam errors

I keep getting a paper jam error on my photosmart plus B209 a-m.  I have followed all of the directions in the guided help.  There is no paper jam and every time I try to print thats what message I get.
Can anyone help?  I am so frustrated I am ready to scream.  I just got this printer for Christmas.  Geeze!!

I have exactly the same problem!  Also VERY frustrated!
Called HP 'Support' yesterday and was told (LITERALLY):  "Throw the printer away."  !!!!
The machine is just slightly out of warranty and, since HP, in their infinite wisdom, has decided NOT to locate a Service/Repair Center anywhere in all of Australia, they are unable to service or repair this printer.
Aside from the cost associated with buying a new printer, I find this VERY ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY!!  To be trashing such a piece of hardware for a simple problem like this, is not a very smart way to be doing things, in my book.
I am convinced that anyone who knows how to open this machine up could fix this problem in 30 minutes, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to get into the machine.
After having had a very close look into the guts of the machine, I can actually see where the carriage is hanging up, but am unable to disassemble or open the machine up to un-jam it.
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO DISASSEMBLE AN HP-B209A (All-In-One) PRINTER??
    VERY, VERY POOR SHOW HP!!!!!

  • HP Laserjet 2430dtn Paper Jam Error

I have got a HP Laserjet 2430dtn and the bit of plastic for the rear paper jam sensor has broken off the printer and as such I now get a permanent 'Rear Paper Jam' error.
Is it possible to disable the sensor so that I can still use the printer or is the printer dead?

Chances are the printer has a small bit of paper that is still jammed in it. When paper jams always try to pull in the direction of the paper path! If it tears then remove the toner cartridge to see if you can see any bits of paper inside. I have the Laserjet 1012 which is a similar design, early in it's life I had a similar issue, after removing the toner cartridge and seeing all bits of paper were gone I still got an error. I then removed the top cover of the printer, located and removed the offending piece of paper, put it back together and now several thousands of pages later all is fine.
If that doesn't work then contact HP's support (they will reply to an email with 24 hours) or go the chat route. If you try to call because you are well out of warranty there will be charge.

  • I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 with a FALSE paper jam error that won't clear.

My subjectline says it all.  I have a false paper jam error that will not clear and keeps me from printing.  Can you help?

I have a C3180 with exactly the same issue.... I've tried trouble-shooting, restarting, cancelling and re-sending, disconnecting and reconnecting.... but nothing has helped yet and it's SO frustrating because I have to submit this wretched application like already   Good Luck with yours, and if you figure out anything that works please let me know!

  • I cannot clear my paper jam error?

I clean out the back of the printer to get rid of the paper jam error, only to get the paper jam error again when on half of the sheet goes through the printer.

Is your printer the Photosmart 8050?  If so see the troubleshooting page here.  If not please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model?

Hi. I have an HP PSC 2355 all-in-one printer that has worked well for a long time but when i switched it on today to do some printing, it made some strange noises and when i tried to print it sent an error saying there was a paper jam - but there was not !
It feeds a sheet of paper in about half way through then stops and the error is displayed.
I tried doing a copy, and the exact same thing happens.
Has anyone got an idea what has gone wrong ?

  • Since day one ! paper jam on NEW C310a

From the time I got this outta the box and hooked it up, it said PAPER JAM, and it continues to say that even tho I go thru all the correct steps.  I bought this C310a back in like July and have only printed abt 20 pgs (and those were testing pages).
I would like very much to send this back to HP and request a new one (and it can even be the next step down for all I care) OR send it to them and have them fix it and return it to me.
Since it's still under the standard 1yr warranty, can I call the toll free # and get some help that way ?
PLEASE - can someone help me on this ??
I desperately need a working printer.
    Thanks
    MT

It would really be nice if someone could or would reply to my problem.
I'm about ready to just take the thing with me to the top of the house and pitch if off = chalk it up to money thrown away.  It's not doing me any good sitting in the corner collecting dust.
maybe even go get me another Lexmark - the last one I had lasted abt 8 yrs or so and never had a moments problem out of it.
