HP device manager 4.6 SP4 mass device rename

Hello, I want to use HPDM 4.6 to rename all of our thin client (t620) devices.I have a list of MAC addresses and the names I want to assign to the devices.I can rename a single device, I can rename all devices to HP-invented names, but I see noway to mass rename using an imported list (e.g. tab-separated file). How to proceed?  Is it possible to submit tasks to HPDM using a script?  (powershell, cmd file, etc)?

Hello RobJ2, Mass renaming devices is possible from the HPDM. 1) Create the CSV file You will need the Hostname, MAC address, Type (device model), OS, and Gateway ID in a CSV (plain text) in this format: Hostname,MAC,Type,SN,OS,GatewayIDComputer-1,008CGAD0547B,HP t520,MXL51609CY,ThinPro 5,5000570000Computer-2,008CGAD0558C,HP t520,MXL51609PR,ThinPro 5,5000570000 2) Import the CSVFrom the HPDM, File > Import Devices...Browse to path of CSV file (any CSV files in this path will be imported)Click Import The renaming will initiate immediately with no warning. A report will be generated once the process is complete. Cheers,J.

  • IPAD 1 problems after ios 5.1.1 update, itunes does not recognize IPAD.. I check the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (My ipad) but unable to use it.

I am using the generation 1 IPAD.
I recently updated my ios from ios 4 to ios 5.1.1, I did the restore after the update and all seemed fine as it was detected the first time.
I tried connecting the IPAD again but it shows that the computer, itunes is not able to detect the IPAD.
I checked on the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (IPAD) and says no software for the driver. I am using windows 7 on my laptop. I never had any such problem with the iso 4. Any suggestions as to how this can be solved?
    Thanks,
    Vinay

Thank you, I tried uninstalling the device driver to reinstall again. After doing the scan for hardware changes, nothing flashes on the device manager. I dont see anything related to the IPAD or any other device for which driver shows unidentified device. It is as though the device is not being seen by the computer at all..
I even tried flashing the home/sleep buttons together but that doesnt seem to identify any device either.
    Anything else I am missing?

  • Sat P105-S2036 WinVista Device Manager does not show Tbios device

The label on the bottom of the laptop says the Model Number is PSPAOU-1W2036. I have had it for about 2 years. During this time till 2 days ago, it ran factory installed Windows XP MCE just fine. Device Manager had always showed Tbios as a device.
During the two days starting 3 days ago, I successfully upgraded the operating system to Windows Vista Ultimate. Everything works fine except Device Manager no longer shows Tbios device.
I am not able to find any Tbios WinVista driver at Support.Toshiba.com for all listed Satellite P105 models.
What does Tbios do to serve what purpose?
Is Tbios required for WinVista? If so, how may I find the driver to install.
THANKS for an answer in advance.

  • Device manager was messed with and devices were deleted how can i fix it???!!!!!!!

    hp pavillion tx 2000
    windows vista
someone started to delete devices from device manager. don't know which ones were deleted so some stuff isn't working... HELP
is there any way to find out exactly which devices belong on there for my exact computer?!

    Hi,
If devices have been deleted, they will be re-discovered by Windows Vista as soon as you do a restart - when you have restarted, let Windows fully load ( this may take a little longer than usual as drivers for uninstalled devices will have to be reloaded, so give it a good 5 minutes ).  Then open Device Manager, click View in the toolbar and select to show hidden devices - any that have not reloaded correctly will have a yellow triangle against them - if you don't see any, then there's nothing to worry about.

  • C2960 Web Catalyst Device Manager switch view shows "Unsupported Device"

    Hi All,
I`ve setup many C2960 switches over the years but this one has me stumped.
I`ve configured a brand-new out of the box Cisco C2960+24pc-l using the same procedure used on our other switches but when accessing the Web GUI the view that should show a picture of the switch and port status just shows a grey block with "Unsupported Device".
I`ve tried it from IE, Chrome and firefox and XP plus Win7 PCs to no avail.
Am I missing something or do I need to send this switch back for warranty replacement?
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
    Many thanks,
    Paul

I'm also. Try to Call Cisco support no response  and also email for support.

  • W510 w/WinXP, device manager reports issue w/1394 Net Adapter (error code=10)

I recently reimaged a brand new W510 w/WinXP w/SP3 & installed Lenovo Toolbox utility. Which immediately identified an issue w/the 1394 Net Adapter in Device Manager. Looking at the Device Status (details) it states "The Device Cannot Start (code 10)" and suggests reloading the drivers. I've tried updating them using the UPDATE DRIVER button and searching the web but it states Windows cannot find a better match then the one I have. I've copied the driver from a 2nd WinXP machine (nic1394.sys). I've installed all of the Microsoft updates (for Critical Software and Hardware). Installed the Lenovo Driver Update utility & installed all available driver updates and flashed the BIOS and nothing has resolved it.  I've run the full Lenovo toolbox diags and everything passes (including the 1394 adapters) I've also sent the PC into Lenovo for repair and they indicate everything tests fine as well..
Question, does anyone one know if this device is compatible w/WinXP ? Any other suggestions ?
    Thanks,

I have a Dell external drive which is Hitachi Model 72323. I was happy with it until I used bit locker to add a password on it. After that it worked a couple of times then my computer will not recognize the drive again. It does not even show up in my device
manager. I plugged the device into many other computers and it is recognized promptly. However, another Dell that I have will only recognize it once in a while. I don't understand why it is not showing up in the device manager. Please help.

I suggest you first install latest Windows Updates for your pc.
    Reinstall USB controllers.

  • G470 Bluetooth not listed under Device Manager and not working

    Hi,
Can someone teach me how to solve my G470 problem?
Its Bluetooth is not listed under Device Manager and I can't find it anywhere.

    hi athirah11,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
    Can you try the following:
    1. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and check if the Bluetooth device is being listed.
    - Link to picture
    - Link to picture
    2. If the bluetooth device shows up under the Device Manager, do the following:
        a. Under Control Panel > Programs, uninstall the Bluetooth driver/software (reboot if necessary)
        b. Run the Bluetooth Driver Installer
         -  this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, the Bluetooth device and its components should now appear normally under the Device Manager.
If the bluetooth device still doesn't show up, can you provide the model number of your G470 (eg. 59xxxxxx) fur further checking.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Strange root certs in device manager

When I opened the device manager (preferences -> advanced -> certificates -> security devices) I was surprised to find the following entry under "Root Certs":
    path /home/<user name>/.mozilla/firefox/<profile name>/libnssckbi.so
The corresponding file does not exist at this location (the correct location is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/nss/libnssckbi.so).
I'm wondering how this entry originated, and whether it should be deleted? It is dated Nov 2012. A fresh profile does not have any root certs in the device manager.

    ''cor-el [[#answer-693597|said]]''
    <blockquote>
The correct location of the libnssckbi.so file would be the Firefox installation directory and not the Firefox profile folder (~/.mozilla/firefox/).
    </blockquote>
Indeed. I have never set this preference manually, so I'm wondering what the preferences->advanced->certificates->security_devices->Root_Certs preference does, and whether setting it to a strange value could compromise security?

  • Device Category in device management

    Hi,
i am new to ISU and understanding Device Management. want to know about device category and its integration with materials management.
    REegards,
    Mohit A

    Creating Device Categories in IS-U
    Procedure
    1. Choose Utilities industry >> Device management >> Technology >> Device category >> Create.
You branch to the initial screen for creating device categories.
    2. Enter the required data and choose a basic device category to be allocated to the device category. Chose Continue.
    - If a material exists for the device category specified, you branch to the screen Create Device Category: General Data. Go to step 3.
    - If no material exists for the device category specified, the Create MM Material dialog box appears.
Here you can create a material in MM in the background. Processing is then continued on the next screen for device category maintenance.
    3. Enter further data for the device category and if necessary add additional basic device categories. Save your data.
You branch to the initial screen for creating device categories.
    Result
The device category was created in IS-U. In addition, a material master was created in the background.
If you want to use all of the MM functions available, you must extend the material master you created in IS-U in MM.

  • Satellite T130 - No wireless adapter in device manager

I only got connected to the internet yesterday. The internet worked fine, but on shut-down I had the first round of Windows updates. Now I have exactly the same situation - no wireless adapter in the device manager, no unknown or 'other' devices (some posts suggest update driver for these then it will recognise). I had not played around with the system settings at all (only had the laptop for a month) and even restoring it to before I had the internet has not got it back. Interestingly when I turn on the computer the 'internet' LED on my router blinks for a few seconds - suggesting some communication as I am the only computer connected. Also as it worked fine before (and the laptop has not even been moved) I do not believe the many responses to posts about "hardware problems". After seeing many similar questions in this and the US forum I wish I had never bought this laptop. Because I have not seen any posts with a solution apart from taking it into the service centre!
I really don't want to go down the service centre route with a brand new PC. I will never again buy Toshiba unless they offer me a downloadable/phone solution when I call them tomorrow.
I really hope someone from Toshiba is taking all these posts seriously. Don't do a Toyota.

    Hi buddy,
To be honest I dont know what problem you have.
First of all its not important if your notebook is brand new or not. Such problems can happen on all computers, even if they are only few days old. Every parts are electrical parts and can die always. Nobody is able to say when it happens or can avoid this.
For example with a new car you can also have problems after few days and then you also go to the service point. ;)
    Back to your problem:
You can try restoring to factory settings. If this doesnt work it seems to be a hardware malfunction but make sure that WLAN adapter is enabled with FN+F8 key combination.
I doubt that somebody from Toshiba will read your posting. Its only an user to user forum where you can talk with normal users. Toshiba isnt your first contact person, its always the authorized service provider.
Here you can search for an ASP in your country:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Find an authorized service provider
Good luck and I hope I could help you a little bit! :)
