HP Device Toolbox (via Programs) does not open. It only opens via Webbrowser​.

I have the HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175 PCL6 since one year and it operated always properly.
Its connected via USB.
But now I cannot start HP Device Toolbox anymore when I start it via Start > Programs > HP etc. 
I see shortly some flashes on my desktop but the program does not start. I get an error window in Dutch saying: "Error Cannot connect to printer. Check printer connection and try to restart HP Device Toolbox".
I can acces HP Device Toolbox only by entering the IP adress of the printer in the webbrowser.
I can print and scan normally.
I uninstalled all the HP software and reinstalled the software and drives but this does not help.
Who can help?

Too bad the System Restore didn't work, I have seen this type of issues after some updates were ran on the computer.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if there is a program interfering in the back ground. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
Try and open the Toolbox Software again.
Are you getting any error messages?
If you are still having issues, try the following steps please:
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility
I would download and install the full driver, instead of using the Smart Install on the printer.
HP LaserJet Pro Series Full Solution Software and Driver.
If you have another computer, run the install on it to see if you have the same results.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

    It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

    Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
    I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
    You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
    The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
    Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
    The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

    Thanks for your help! I tried your suggestion but only switched off the firewall (although just swichting-off of the firewall may not help). This did not solve the problem.
    But! I was able to solve it! A friend came up with the idea. It was a profile problem. Somehow, the profile information must be damaged (and he explained me, that this ocures sometimes when updating from firefox 3 to 5). I dont know what is going on there. However, after creating a new profile everything was alright and firefox 5 works now!
    If firefox does not open and you want to create a new profile:
    -right click on the firefox icon
    -properties
    -shortcuts
    -check if the "target" is correct (the exe.file is at this place on your machine)
    -if yes: add after the target: [space]-p
    -apply and ok
    -now start firefox, this will open the profile manager
    -create a new profile
    -apply
    -open firefox again and it will work (at least in may case).
    Hope this is a help for all who have the same problem. I am very happy now and looking forward to enjoy firefox 5.

    It is only the second time that I am using program Motion 5 and I only see the first small screen : does not open any more.

    When you say first small screen I assume you are referring to the splash screen. If so you need to double click on a template or new project icon. You can also choose from the list of projects/templates on the left listing or choose a preset on the right. Just double click on what you want or select and choose open at the bottom of the window. Motion will then open for you.

    Why does it take 4 to 5 minutes for my itunes program to open?  it also frequently freezes while i am trying to work with it.  it won't open when i connect my iphone?  this is on my desk top with Windows 7.

    Okay, launch iTunes... does it work?
    If so, in Edit > Preferences > Advanced is the option to "prevent syncing of iDevices" selected?
    Another possibility, in Control Panel > Default Programs > Change Auto Play Settings > what is the system set to do when an iPhone is connected?

  • Program does not open up

    Every time I try to open up the program, it shows up on the task bar, but then it goes away. No messages, nothing hiding in Task Manager, nothing. I did not add additional plugins to it, and every time this happens, the only way for me to fix this issue is to re-install the program.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • After Lightroom CC install, there's only a flash of an image on screen and the program does not open.

    I already own LR5 and currently have the CC Photographer's plan.  Decided to upgrade LR to CC.  I have downloaded it once and it won't open.  There's a flash of maybe the splash screen which disappears.  I uninstalled and downloaded it again and the same thing happens.  I am using the latest Creative Cloud and a Macbook Pro i7.

    Jorgeb55956766 I am sorry that you are facing difficulty installing the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  Have you utilized the steps listed in Error: "Failed to install" | Creative Cloud Desktop to reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application?  If so do you receive any specific error messages?

    Installed FF 16, 17, 18. Will not open in normal administrator login, nor with "Run as administrator" but will in W7 safe mode. Changed permissions (had to do it in W7 Safe Mode, normal login would not allow (logged in as an administrator) could not delete the Mozilla files in normal login. On rare occasions, with a new install, I could get it to open once, then not again. Searched the reg for any mention of Mozilla or FF and cleaned it. Tried FF safe mode, no luck. Checked permissions after taking ownership and propagating full ownership rights to all FF files, many reboots, no luck. Chrome, IE and SeaMonkey work fine. Using a fairly new install of W7 Professional 64 bit, on a Dell Optiplex 990 i7, 16GB ram. Had the same problem with another user on an identical box. No problem on other computers No other program problems.

    I have uninstalled FF, with the windows uninstaller, by manually cleaning the files and the registry of any mention of FF or Mozilla, and by running Revo uninstaller - always rebooting and checking to see if the files are indeed gone. (I have set windows file preferences to see all files, including system files.) I have run 4 AV/malware scanners and found nothing but a few tracking cookies. I download, from Mozilla.org, (http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2018.0.exe) a fresh copy of the Firefox Setup 18.0.exe each time and install when logged in as an administrator and choose "Run as Administrator".     The system is not infected
    I am doing clean installs
    There is no existing trace of FF on the system
    I get identical results on one other W7 64 bit Optiplex 990 system with an i7 processor and 16 GB or ram.
    I CAN run in windows safe mode with networking.
    I have no other software or hardware issues.
