HP DL 360 G6 Server Display

Hi All,
I have a problem with my new server
I have installed win 2003 R2, all was fine till when i rebooted,  then problems start
It booted up with its BIOS graphics displaying some carractors and symbols
If i let it continue its kinder displaying windows but with its display on like 1000 cubes that all you can see is the
1000 mouse pointers
I have tried to reinstall the OS but its not detecting the CD-ROM anymore, but all the the others like Keyboard and mouse are detected
If i try to go BIOS menu, it goes but it shows everything in symbols and carractors
Please help me as i need to get this server running asap other wise i will be in big big big trouble
Thank you in Advance

Okay. After hanging a little, experimenting with the NFS, configuring network with netcfg/netadm and finding out that dladm show-phys for some reasion doesn't think this machine is connected (and it is) I found the solution.
I'm not sure what exactly helped, so I will post both steps:
- Download and Boot from last HP SPP, install all the updates.
- Don't use the LO100i Virtual Media built-in capability of handling ISO images. Use Daemontools virtual drive ! After this the Solaris was able to boot up, found it's media and launched the installation process.
Hope it will help someone.

    hi,
i am facing problem when my servlet program is running.
my servlet starts a process at server which is a simple java program which publishes PDF,

    kindly help me,
Thanks in advance for ur most important suggestion or solution.

Sounds a lot like a bug in some of the native libraries you use (or even in AWT). Try looking into your log files (especially for X and for your tomcat) to find out if any error messages are printed.
Additionally there are X servers out there that don't need any concrete display hardware to run (Xvfb comes to my mind, but IIRC there are more modern alternatives available). Usign that might or might not solve your problem, but would be a good idea either way.

  • HT4623 Contacting the iPhone activation server display

I waited 10 hours for ios 7.02 to download. Then up comes,'Contacting the iPhone activation server' display....for 5 hours! What am I supposed to do? Do I disconnect from iTumes and carry on? Or stay connected and wait til it contacts the iPhone activation server?

If your iPhone is still displaying that message, I would consider that symptom to fall under this troubleshooting article:

  • [SOLVED] Can't set X server display resolution

    Hello all,
I'm trying to set X Server display resolution to my monitor native 1366x768. I'm running Arch in a VMWare virtual machine. I have installed xf86-video-vmware drivers.
Here's the contents of my 10-monitor.conf file
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    DisplaySize 410 230
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
Driver "vmware" #Choose the driver used for this monitor
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0" #Collapse Monitor and Device section to Screen section
    Device "Device0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 24 #Choose the depth (16||24)
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
    Modes "1366x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480" #Choose the resolution
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
And here's the log file where the resolutions get rejected:
2831.766] (II) vmwlegacy(0): Not using mode "1366x768" (no mode of this name)
2831.766] (II) vmwlegacy(0): Not using mode "1024x768" (no mode of this name)
Is this a consequence of the vmlegacy drivers? This is up high in the log file, where the legacy drivers eventually get loaded:

Ok. Finally it's working. This is why I love Arch. It forces me to learn.
    The solution:
    Step 1.
I followed the instructions in X.Org Wiki about obtaining modelines. Sadly, the log file didn't produce anything (probably because I was using the vesa vbe driver). But I followed the next option and got the modeline from Windows tool, Powerstrip.
    "1366x768" 85.476 1366 1436 1579 1792 768 771 774 798 -hsync +vsync
    Step 2.
Went to the web and fetched all the technical information about this monitor (a Acer X193HQ, that I use as my third monitor). I wanted hsync and vsync ranges, and display size in mm.
    Step 3.
Edited my configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf) making sure to comment out the last part of the modeline, since I was going to manually add the hsync and vsync ranges.
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    DisplaySize 410 230
    HorizSync 30-80
    VertRefresh 55-60
    ModelName "X193HQ"
    Option "DPMS"
    VendorName "Acer"
    ModeLine "1366x768" 85.476 1366 1436 1579 1792 768 771 774 798 # -hsync +vsync
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Device0"
    Driver "vesa"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "Device0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 16
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 16
    Modes "1366x768"
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
    Step 4.
Success! X is started in 1366x768 with the vesa drivers with a 60Hz refresh rate.
    Final thoughts
    - With the vmware display drivers (xf86-driver-vmware) I don't get ideal results. For some reason it starts in 1368x768 (yes, 1368!). However xrandr reveals it supports 1366x768, and once I xrandr --size into it, all is fine. Dunno why this happens.
    - It only works in 16 bit depth. 24 or 32 corrupt the screen. I don't know exactly why either. But for the use I plan to give the X server, 16 bit is fine.

  • Xbox 360 + Apple Cinema Display... is it possible?

I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to hook up my Xbox 360 to my 20 inch Apple Cinema Display. Microsoft sells a VGA cable at the moment.

"I thought i read somewhere that the 20'' apple cinema display is not HD like the 23'' and 30'' are. Is this true?"
The 20 doesn't get the 'HD' moniker because the vertical resolution is less than the needed 1080 for HD content. Both the 23 and 30 have more than 1080 lines.
    I suspect if the HD you're referring to is 1080i you'll need a 23 or 30.

  • Xbox 360 to Thunderbolt Display

I have a "dinky" TV monitor and I was hoping to upgrade up some. I saw the new Thunderbolt Display, and as an Apple Lover, I feel in love. Is it possible for me to connect my Xbox 360 (through cords?) to an Apple Thunderbolt Display? I tried looking for a cord that would connect the two but I wasn't sure what exactly to look for. Any suggestions?

You can only attach a TB device to a TB source.  No adapters are available.
    Confusing Mini DisplayPort with Thunderbolt
Note, apple still sells the mini-displyport version of their 27" display.

  • Apple Time Server displaying wrong time

So I have the option 'Date and Time' I have the 'Set Date and Time Automatically' checked and the apple time server selected. I also have the correct time zone selected. However, the time that is displayed is one day and five hours ahead of the actual time. I know I can manually set the time, but the time stamps on my emails don't change when I do that. So I'd appreciate it if there was a way for me to use the automatic time setting, but have it display the correct time.

There are three apple timeservers. Try changing to a different one and then back to the correct one.

  • Connecting to Windows Server displays 'alias could not be found' error...

We have a number of Macs all of which browse and connect to a shared Windows network... One Mac however, a 10.3.9 PoweMac G5, displays the 'alias could not be found' when trying to connect to one of the network servers (we have two, one is NT4, the other is WinSvr2003, we cannot connect this Mac to NT).
Any thoughts on why this particular Mac will not connect to this one specific server via the Finder? (we can connect however via GO->Connect to Server, just not through the Finder Network browser).
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Al-
    1) Is your mac configured in the same "workgroup" as the PC's? (Look in Utilities>DirectoryAccess>SMB/CIFS>Configure). Workgroup must match, and try putting name using ALL CAPS.
    2) Instead of using this alias, have you tried Using Finder "Go" Menu?
    Go>Connect To Server> SMB://[PCname]/[Foldername]
There are some security settings which may need changed, over on the PC's. Search this group for 'digital signing'.

My http home directory is c:\OracleHTTP; my old HTTP directory was C:\orahttp that I deleted and reinstall Oracle HTTP Server.
I don't understand why these error is coming? even Apache is referring old http server home.
on DADS.CONF my image directory is set to
    Alias /i/ "c:\OracleHttp\Apache\images\/"
So the situation is when I invoke Apex it displays with all images, but do not move after that; i.e the screen don't move whatever you type.
Can anybody give advise what can we do to make Apex functional?
    Thanks.

The reference to old HTTP home was resolved as there were old settings on Window Registry that I deleted.
I am still getting following errors:-

  • The Document Conversions Launcher Service status on a SharePoint Server 2013 Web front-end server displays "Starting" but does not start or stop

I have this strange error showing up from my second Web Front End Server, "The Document Conversions Load Balancer service is stuck in starting, The status showing up "Error Starting". When I lunch the start, it runs then went back to
the same status "Error Starting" for the "Document Conversions Load Balancer Service". How can I get of rid this issue?

    Hi Mannyabdon,
Based on your description, I recommend to check the things below:
    1.  Run the PowerShell command below to check the status of the Secure Store Service:
    Get-SPServiceInstance |Where {$_.typename -like "Document Conversions Load Balancer Service"}
If it is not showing online, please stop the service first and then start it to see if the issue still occurs (the
<ServiceGUID> can be obtained obtained from the command above).
    Stop the service:
    Stop-SPServiceInstance -Identity <ServiceGUID>
    Start the service:

    2.  Check the ULS log for detailed error message.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

  • OS X Lion Server display problem with menu highlighting and button icons

I have attached  Grab capture of my screen showing the problems with the window top bars and button icons. This happened after a routine security update.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
    Thanks
    George Harrison

I have/had the same problem. Comparible setup running Lion Server GM. The natd service fires off the InternetSharing service from the prefspane instead of the regular natd service. This is verifiable by entries in the system log as well as the lack of the natd process running. Below are my findings from research/experimentation; please understand that this is what I have done to get it working, it is DEFINITELY not best practices and I'm sure not supported by Apple. I'm just conveying what I think is happening and how I dealt with it.
Natd - Executing the binary referenced in the launchctl job directly launches the InternetSharing service on Lion server. This does NOT act this way in SL server, where it works as expected. Replacing the Lion binaries with The SL ones results in natd working as expected: nat_start and nat_stop in /usr/libexec. In short, if you replace the Lion binaries with the ones from SL, it-s a drop-in fix. Natd isn't your only problem though...
Dns/named - It appears that Apple has limited named to binding on the loopback adapter only by default on Lion. Adding a listen-on clause to named.conf with the appropriate bindings will fix this. I'm assuming you're running natd, named and dhcpd on the same box...
Dhcpd - Works fine. It appears broken only because the InternetSharing service is replacing natd (why?!?) and it has a built-in dhcpd server (dumbed down 192.168.2.0 subnet). Once you fix natd, this runs as expected.
Firewall/ipfw - Gotta have this running so that natd will do translation. Remember to open the dhcp ports to allow the clients to get leases...
I hope this helps, I'm sticking with SL until these issues are worked out...

  • Remote Server doesn't display SPRY Tabbed Panel

I'm using DW CS4.  I inserted a SPRY Tabbed Panel in the main page for navigation.  The local development and testing server displays the Panel, but the remote server (Go Daddy) does not.  All of the data from the panel is displayed in one log page without the tab feature.
    The site's address is:  mailbox.mikeklonecki.com
I saw a couple of other posts for a slideshow error using SPRY in DW, but this seems to be different behavior.  I don't get an error, rather the panel just doesn't display.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

I apologize.  I found my answer.
Two required files (one .js and one .css) were not loaded into the right folder, so the page didn't have access to them.  After re-locating the files, the Tabbed panel works just fine.
    Please disregard the inquiry.

  • CS5 Design View: local page + images on server - images don't display

I've recently upgraded to DW CS5. I sometimes have occasion to design pages containing images that are on the server.
In DW8, images on the server would display in Design View.
In DW CS5, images on the server display a broken image icon in Design View.
Yes, I know I can switch to Live View, but I'd rather not, as I find Live View very difficult to edit in (if at all; I can somewhat edit in the code, but what's the point?). I'd far rather be able to see the images as I'm writing the page in Design View.
Am I missing some setting somewhere, or is this the way it is?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

I found it under View > Display External Files.
Thanks so much for this. Really appreciated.
Used to be under the Commands menu long ago. Obviously relocated to the View menu.
That means that Adobe's own online Help docs for CS5 are incorrect.

Note: When inserting images it’s also possible to use an absolute path to an image that resides on a remote server (i.e., an image that is not available on the local hard drive). If you experience performance problems while working, however, you might want to disable viewing the image in Design view by deselecting Commands > Display External Files.
