Hp dm4 laptop touch pad

please i want to off the movement from the button area on hp dm 4 touch pad
i checked in synaptics settings but i didnt find
that buttons were good instead of flat touch pad with no buttons its very hard to use as there is no separation between the buttons and the rest of touch pad.
now i want to move the movement from the buttons area so dat touchpad button area work only for click like other hp buttons

Any solution for this? I have the same issue.
No big complaints about the trackpad EXCEPT when I place the cursor where I want it and try to left click down (with my thumb) on the lower left section of the trackpad and this causes the cursor to move and miss the mark. Simple fix would be disabling movement on lower area (button area of trackpad under line) and reserve it just for clicking... but no such option is provided. Any way of achieving this? Please?

After updating to Firefox 7, i've lost scrolling feature on my laptop touch pad

After I updated to Firefox 7, the scrolling feature on the laptop touch pad would not work. My OS is Windows 7. I also updated my other laptop and the same thing happened. That one has Windows Vista as it's OS

Try to modify the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

Dell Inspiron 5547 laptop touch pad issue

I have Dell inspiron 5547 laptop. I have touch pad issue. Touch pad is looks it's working but It's not working properly. I can't click on file or any where else. I call dell for support they first uninstall all drivers for Touch pad and re install it. After that it works goods for 2-3 days and once again problem is same.
After that I call once again dell support and they send technician to my house to change touch pad after he change, in few days problem is same.
After that I send my laptop to support center and after getting system back I have same issue.
so I call once more times and they send technician to change hard drive with inbuilt OS. After that In just 2 days I have same problem. Now I request dell to replace my system and I am waiting for their approval But If any One have Any solution then please Reply me

Satellite laptop touch pad scroll function

Greetings, New to the site, new to any kind of forum. Looking for advise. I have a Satellite laptop L300, I don't have a mouse, I just use the touch pad. (this is a brand new PC to me) Every once and a while while moving my cursor on browser or email application, the the pointer turns into an up/down area and the screen auto scrolls. I'm not sure how I am turning this feature on, but I'd like to know how to disable it? Also, is there somewhere I can download an owners manual for this laptop?

G570 laptop touch pad

I don't know if I'm in the right place. What do they mean by' think' and' idea' topics?
Anyway, I've had problems with my touch pad since I got my laptop. I've tried installing new drivers several times. Each time it works for awhile then the same problems return.
For example, as I am typing this even though I'm staying away from the touchpad, the 'right click' menu keeps opening. but there are many other weird things happening.
The last time I installed the new driver, my laptop completely froze up and I had turn my laptop off and it did not fix anything. in fact it seems like my keyboard is being weird too.
This is getting very old. Isn't there a permanent fix for this problem?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
If you're navigating around and suddenly you get a right click context menu suddenly pops-up without doing a physical right click, try to do the following:
1. Uninstall the Synaptics / Elantech touchpad driver under Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program and restart the PC (this will use the built-in Microsoft Touchpad Driver)
2. After the reboot, open Device Manager (click Start > type Device Manager) and under Mice and Other Pointing Devices, make sure it's not set to Lenovo Pointing Device, otherwise uninstall the driver and reboot.
If the issue persists after using the microsoft touchpad driver, then the Touchpad / Touchpad Board and/or Touchpad cable needs to be replaced as there's a short between the said parts and you need to contact Lenovo for service. Support phone list here.

After installing fedora in my laptop touch pad is not recognizing by OS

am having lenovo 3000 g430 , yesterday i installed fedora 7 in my laptop.
installation was successfull but the touch pad is not recognizing , is there any way to resolve this issue

My HP ProBook S-series laptop touch pad mouse does not respond to me

My touch pad responds to my tech guy, to my friends, but not to me! It's like my fingers don't work on it, regardless of the pressure I use or the part of the pad I touch. Other than getting a new set of fingers - which in itself is problematic - what can I do about this? Has anyone else had this problem? It's brand new & this was a problem from the get-go. I had an old Dell latitude D600 & it worked fine for me.

Well changing fingers is no easy task so I think we better find another solution. Have you tried other fingers? Also make sure the touchpad has not been locked by firmly tapping the top left section of the pad. This is how you can quickly enable or disable the touchpad.

I am having a problem using my laptops touch pad to scroll the page up and down.

When I try and run my finger down the side of my little mouse pad attached to me Sony Viao it shows a slidding option as if it recognizes i am trying to scroll however it wont actually preform the action. It works in say Microsoft Outlook or One Note or any other non-internet application. I switched to Firefox from Chrome so that I might be able to scroll. Its very frustrating if anyone can help me that would be great

Do you have the Repeat feature turned on? On the Now Playing screen on the left side right below the scrubber bar is an arrowed racetrack. Tap it until it is white for no repeat.

I have done a complete uninstall and re install of iTunes and all related apple programs from my laptop through control panel, add remove programs and also by going through program files and deleting all tracers of any left over folders remove programs may have missed.

Mouse ...Laptop touch pad driver

So very strange...Window 8.1 Satellite C855-S5107... user #1(administrator), boots Ok then mouse either disappears or just stops working. Open Control panel(gotta rush before mouse stops), mouse indicates Synaptic driver not available (not exact words but close) and asks if I want to remove the driver. However, when I reboot and select User #2 mouse has no problems....driving me nuts. Most of the time I need to use the data on the primary user.

So there is probably some minor corruption in that first account. The fix is to create a new one and move your stuff to it.
Steps to fix corrupt profile in windows 8 / Windows 8.1
Don't delete the bad profile until you're certain you have everything.
