HP DV5 1110EM DTS sound to av receiver NO GO HELP PLEASE

I have a Pavilion dv5 1110em it has hdmi and is capable of 7.1 sound from the hdmi port.
I'm playing MKV files via laptop hooked up to my lcd, the laptop is connected to my sony strdg 800 receiver via hdmi.
My problem is i cannot get normal 5.1 dts sound, when i go to the control panel/sound and highlight the hdmi sound device and i click configure it does not ask me to put a tick it checkboxes for dts or dd sound, my fiend has a laptop and his one does, could this be causing a problem?
I'm lost any help would be appreciated.

All the contacts sync configuration has been done, first I configured the iTunes to sync with outlook but nothing happen, then change to Gmail but same.

IPhone 3G.... no sound in RINGER!!! HELP PLEASE!

this is my first post and in desperate reason to as well. haha basically i just purchased a an iPhone 3G last week, and its been working real fine until just a few days ago, what happened was as i was using the ringer, it suddenly lost sound. and the only way i can get sound like keyboard click, music and stuff like that is via the use of headphones can anyone help me! i just recently upgraded to the version 2.1 if thats any help cheers!
p.s. i have also tried the headphone pulling in and out thing a couple of times and still no help.

i had the same problem with my old iphone and now the same problem with the 3G, it keeps thinking the headphones are plugged in.. I have tried cleaning the headphone jack and no joy.. i can only make and receive calls with the headphones pluged or in speaker mode.. it also means that you can have any sound through the speakers on anything.. Iphone is only 3 weeks new which is well annoying.. Dont know what to do

my mac sound is not working also the headphones however if i plug the hdmi cable it works on my tv !!!!! I think it is a hardware problem!!

Hi a,
Have you checked the settings in System Preferences > Sound?
There is a switch inside the audio jack that may be stuck. Try gently inserting an audio plug, gently wiggling it, and then removing the audio plug.

Quicktime DTS AC3 5.1 Output?, need help please

i want to output a surrounding audio to my home theater system through spdif optical cable,but i dont know how to set up the output from quicktime or whatever to get hi quality audio.
any tip please?

Quicktime as default downmixes the audio to stereo, that's why you can't hear your video in Surround. However, there is this tool - Perian - which allows you to change output format (EG: stereo, multi-channel output).

Buzzing or zapping sound burning from itunes...help please.

I have updated itunes to 7.6 and updated my firmware to no avail. I still have this buzzing or zapping sound within my music when I burn CD's from my playlists. I have successfully burned using other software. Looks like a common problem, any suggestions would help a lot of people. It is occuring in both purchased music and imported music. Thanks in advance.

My iPhone 4 has no sound when playing music or videos-help please?!

Hi - my phone has stopped having any sound when playing music or videos, no volume bar either. No key noises either - but I can live without those!! I can hear sound through headphones, though sometimes that's intermittent. I have tried cleaning ports, restarting it, restoring it, pressing right hand corner of screen, taking headphones in and out repeatedly, pressing speaker twice whilst making call, blowing air into charging port, flicking volume switch on and off on side etc yet nothing has worked. Please can anyone else help? Apple want £135 plus vat to service it which isn't worth it in my opinion!

I am new with GB. My boyfriend and I recently recorded several tracks of his new song. When the song was up - we didn't have ANY problems. When I saved it, closed GB, and came back to it the next day to work on more mixing, it would not play back.
I -
checked my system preferences to make sure set at system output
checked GB preferences to make sure set at system output (want playback on computer)
tried with monitor on or off
see levels playing but no sound
checked to make sure tracks were not muted
checked to make sure tracks sound were slid up not down
tried with soloed and no-soloed tracks
notice that the tracks are gray in color unless i solo the track
tried recording new track - through external board we used to do the song or through computer and I hear the metronome count me in but there is no recorded sound.
tried sending my track to itunes (that worked once when I didn't get the sound playback quite figured out yet) and sent our 5:12 track, but no sound.
other small projects with one track playback.
Why isn't there sound? HELP! This is my first "big" project so did I do something when I saved it that I should have (so I don't do it again!). Is there a way to fix it???? We'd like to get our ideas out to band members!

Also...you should ALWAYS save multiple 'takes' as you go along just in case something like this happens. I also save multiple copies in multiple locations... again.... should a disaster occur. Example: I generally save to GB/User/Mac HD AND my external hard drive (4 different locations, I'm paranoid!!). And not just the final product. I will save versions of it as I go along so that if a failure does happen I can at least go back to a working EARLIER version and not have to record the whole darn thing over. I know this doesn't help you now but I also know it will save you future misery. ~KIng

Moveing logic and sound track pro content ( logic studio ) help please

can I move the audio content that comes with logic and sountrack pro in logic studio off my system disk to another hard disk? as I did not choose custom install. so now my system disk is full. DOH.
Will logic and STP find them again if i move them. Oh and where are they? I have no idea. On my system disk somewhere i know that much lol.....help. Is this a lost cause? will I have to re-install it all again.
Another question...how do I Un-install logic studio and logic seven if it comes to this.

My blackberry 9720 when receiving a call only sounds the ringtone once and then is silent whilst still vibrating and waiting for the call to be answered. Can anyone help please.

I want a notification sound when I receive a new email

I have the sound turned on Windows 7 Enterprise, and I have checked in my Outlook 2010 to make a notification sound when I receive a new email, but no sound is made when I receive an email. Can anyone advise me how to get this to work?

The sound option for new coming emails lies in: File tab -> Options -> Mail -> Message arrival -> Please confirm you have selected the checkbox
Play a sound.
If you only don’t get a sound when receiving emails from some specific senders, you may have set up some rules to manage incoming emails, please make sure you have selected the
Play a sound checkbox in the rules.
If there’s still no sound, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it’s related to 3rd-party add-ins:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

Encore CS5.1 and DTS sound for BluRay: Has there been any success

I have not updated to the latest version (can't afford at the moment) but I would really like to know if there have been any improvements in the DTS sound file handling.
In CS5 you can NOT create a BluRay disk with dts sound. dtshd (using DTS MasterAudioSuite) are not accepted at all and .cpt files are accepted but can only be used for DVD projects (when trying to create a BD project with .cpt you can an error of file not valid for BluRay).
Has something changed in newer version?
I would be really interested to know about this.

This file although it is accepted comes and with the error that it is not BluRay legal. So it is NOT OK

TS3406 there is no sound when I receive a call or message bu the sound works when I go into settings. what may be the answer?

I have an Iphone 5 and this morning it will not make a sound when I receive a message or call. All settings are as before and sounds are made when I check the sound settings. Any ideas on what has happened? Hardware or software issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
