After I removed the screen from the laptop I noticed that there are 2 cables named 1 and 2 coming out from the screen. I didn't know where to connect it back

  • N97 screen cable =( help please!

    my n97 that i absolutely LOVE wouldnt start the other day;
    i figured it was coz it ran out of battery
    after charging it and turning it back on,
    the screen wouldnt turn on?
    everything else was fine;
    it made the nokia sound at the start
    and the keys lit up also.
    after looking at it;
    i realised that the screen cable;
    behind the screen; had snapped?!
    is there anything i can do to fix this?
    also;
    if i have to take it to a store to get fixed..
    how much and how long will it take?!
    -i'd appreciate any help i can get. =)

    If its hardware, I would definitely recommend that you take it to Nokia care center. I dont think that it is not covered by warranty since I cannot think of a situation normally when the cable would just snap.

  • Broken screen cable

    I think my screen cable might be broken. My display does this when moved slightly:
    If so, how much would this sort of thing cost to repair?

    Hi SK1215,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like moving the screen causes the problem. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Plastic sticks up above screen cable

    Hi everyone,
    I just acquired my brand new t500 a few days ago and now it may become a greatest disappointment. That's not what I expected from Lenovo!
    As you all know (or have probably heard) the keyboard on the left side has a significant flex along with the clicking sound while typing. To be honest I was quite prepared to get an aftermarket T61 keyboard and replace the original one if it doesn't meet my expectations. But there is more to it then just that.
    I attached the pictures of the problem that I have with my laptop - the plastic sticks up above the place where the screen cable enters the laptop base. Pictures will tell you more then my words.
    Another thing that I didn't like is that the plastic on the top left corner (left speaker grill) isn't attached well to the base as well. There is around .5mm gap in there and it clicks when you press on it.
    Not quite what I'd expect from the the company "that makes "award-winning PCs". Or should I say USED TO...
    As a side note I wanted to mention that in June I advised my friend to get a T500 as well and he has none of the problems I mentioned here (no keyboard flex as well!)
    Has anyone had similar issues? Any advice from Lenovo staff?
    thanks

    Mechmike,
    Honestly, I'm not sure I understand what you are calling out in your photos... Maybe you could update them some red arrow call outs?
    The replacement keyboard can be sent as a customer installable part.  To install, you remove the 5 screws in the bottom of the unit and remove the palmrest and keyboard.  When installing the new keyboard, it slides up under the plastic part below the screen - that part of the keyboard bezel.  It could be an assembly error on your unit, and while installing the new keyboard, reseating it correctly will resolve your other concerns.
    Best regards,
    Mark

    Have a quick question I have a DV5 1125nr  I bought it about 3 years ago. Last year the screen went out so I have not used it. Today I reset it and works fine since I have it connected through a vga cable to the tv. I really would like to fix it, I have seen several screens for sale if I buy one does it have to be exactly for the same model or can it be a DV5 and almost the same model number?

  • IPhone 5s screen not working, no physical explanation

    A girl smashed my iPhone 5s a few months ago, luckily it had a case on it. However, my screen popped off completely, it did not crack or break. All ribbon cables for the display are in tact and while investigating at times it would light up and but 99% of the time it wouldn't. Now after it happened the phone was still powered on, I could hear it ringing, I even activated Voice over somehow. Now the problem I am running into is there is a broken cable. I thought it was the home button cable however after I removed the cover I see a nice looking copper ribbon cable running from it to a small computer chip right beside it. THIS is where things are broken. There is a little piece of a ribbon cable leading from the bottom of this chip that is snapped off and I have a cable that is about an inch and a half long, very thin just like a ribbon cable, has a QR code printed on one side, underneath that QR code it looks like another little chip that connects to the chip next to the home button. The other end snaps has a little connector that snaps into a little piece right underneath the battery and above the charger. That cable is completely ruined I believe since it cannot connect to the chip that is next to the home button where the ribbon cable runs to from the home button.
    *EDIT* I figured out that this is the actual home button flex cable. So now my concern is could this cable prevent my screen from working. And a recent revelation since this phone has been sitting for months as is; I plugged in a charger and it has been on the charger for over a half hour and I cannot start the phone. I used to get a vibrate or some sort of activity, now I'm getting nothing. Like I said before all cables are in tact and regardless if the 3 screen cables were broken that shouldn't stop the phone from turning on should it? This is everything I have done. I have taken the phone apart 4 times since then. I did a hard reset and actually upgraded it from 7.1.2 to 7.1.4 I believe. I have inspected cable after cable after cable, I have checked to make sure the screen seats back down in it's housing perfectly so that literally the phone looks like it's in mint condition, I have investigated literally everything I know in order to figure this out and now I plug it in the computer and I get no sign of it being detected, I'm getting no vibration, I'm getting nothing. It may be a cable or it may not be, I just took it apart just now to make sure I had all my facts straight for this post since I hadn't worked on it for such a long time.
    I need to know, would the broken home button cable from the chip alongside the home button prevent the screen from working? I need to fix this phone, I have fixed hundreds of iPhones since the first generation and this is the 1st iPhone 5s and unfortunately it is mine because some unstable girl got upset and decided to spike it like a football and got away with it without any punishment whatsoever, no fine no jail time, no restitution, nothing. So I am very upset. If I can fix this thing myself with a few parts and you know or are at least 75% sure you know what parts I need to get it up and running for 10-20 dollars I would love your input. If I have to take it to a repair person I am going to have to sell it because I cannot afford to pay $200 for a $5 part and 20 minutes of a guy's time. Please help me out here! I can provide photos sometime if needed but I really prefer not to take this thing apart again unless it is replacing parts and getting it working. Thank you.

    Sorry, but since DIY repair will void the warranty and can't be discussed here, you'll have to find other sources, for example this one

  • Xf86-video-intel: Screen flickering

    Hi,
    my notebook screen (Lenovo Thinkpad X1) is flickering sporadically. This problem does not occur when using a live-CD. Moreover, the screen cables seem to be tightly connected. So I think that the problem results from the XServer or xf86-video-intel. I do not use a xorg.conf and i don´t have specified a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-monitor.conf.

  • Repaired screen and now iPod won't play

    I replaced the broken LCD screen in my son's 1st gen black nano. It looks beautiful! There is a problem with the ipod now though. The iPod won't play. Everything works perfectly...screen is bright and beautiful, click wheel works to move through all menus, change volume, etc. You can choose a song, but the song won't play. The little triangle that stands for play is in the top left corner like it wants to play, but the status bar that tells you how long the song is doesn't move at all. You can fast forward through the song manually, but it won't play.
    I have reset the ipod by toggling the hold button and pressing the select and menu choices from the click wheel. I have done the 5 R's that Apple suggests. I have even restored it to original facotry settings. iTunes can see it and re-downloaded all of the music onto it. All of the software on the computer is updated and the ipod software has been updated. Everything works fine except it won't play!
    When I had the iPod open and was working on it, there were 2 ribbon cables that needed to be connected, 1 was the click wheel cable and 1 was the LCD screen cable. I have attached those securely and both are working properly except for the matter that it won't play songs. There was 1 other flat copper cable that seems to be glued to the click wheel that I didn't see in any of the pictures in the repair manual. It's not a ribbon cable. One end is still glued to the click wheel, but the other end is loose. This is probably the problem. I don't remember disconnecting this during the repair, although I know it had to be connected somewhere. I reaches up close to where the earphone jack is. Does anyone have any idea where this flat copper cable is supposed to be connected? I would appreciate any help you can give me! Thanks!
    iPod 1st gen black nano   Windows XP

    Here is the URL for the picture of the copper cable. The dark part at the end of the copper cable is a piece of silver metal mesh that is glued on one side of the copper cable. You can see that it is glued at the other end to the back of the click wheel underneath where the battery was glued down. I vaguely remember that it was connected to something else, but I don't remember disconnecting it because I was so intent on getting the ribbon cables disconnected without damaging them.

  • Dual Dell Ultrasharp 27" screens won't both go to

    System: MacPro Server 2012/10.8/ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB graphics card
    Screens: 2 Dell Ultrasharp 27" U2713 (both show on the utlities menu that they are capable of 2560x1440)
    With three connections on the ATI card, only the DVI port connected to DVI port on the screen reliably give 2560x1440 (60 Hz is only option)
    When the other screen is connected via mini Displayport only provide 1920x1080 (60 Hz is only option)
    How can I get 2560x1440 off of the minidisplayport?  I have tried the DVI cable that works on the DVI-DVI screen and it steps down, and I have tried a brand new mini Displayport to HDMI on screen cable and it also steps down?  If I switch screens also, only the DVI-DVI provides full 2560x1440. Argh!
    Is it possible that only the DVI port can handle 2560x1440, and the MiniDisplayport maxes out?  Is there a better quality of HDMI required to get 2560x1440?
    Thanks!!!

    Looks like it handles DisplayPort. One of those Monoprice Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables should do the trick.

  • My MacBook screen shuts off, goes to white.Restores when closing and reopening,then pressing "enter". This happenn frequently,

    My display seems to "time out" unexpectedly.
    The screen turns white with blue streeks.
    I can restore the display by closing then reopening the display and pressing "exit".
    I never loose data and the computer then operates normally.

    Ok, mine has been doing the same thing. By now probably have it fixed but the battery thing worked for me. I would open it and it would go black or be all flickery. It seemed like and internal problem that would need a screen cable replaced or such but I just took the battery out which I probably haven't done in the 3 and half years I had it and it worked with the direct power supply. And before I even had time to order new battery I put the same one back and it works great again. These people seriously know how to make a computer. Only problem I've ever had.
