HP dv6823us slowly dyeing... HELP!!!

Hardware: HP Pavillion dv6823us Notebook
Original OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit Edition,
Upgraded OS: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit Edition (a few months back)
Upgrade: Replaced 250GB HDD with a 500GB
Problem:
So Within a single week my laptop has found a malfunctioning USB port and no long recognize the webcam, CD drive, or SD card reader.(In that order)
Actions Taken So Far: (In order)
*Checked for viruses - found none.
*Checked Device manager - none of the mentioned components, other than the malfunctioning USB port ("Unknown Device"), were listed.
*Clean installed Windows 7 (Via external HDD) No Luck.
*Checked HP for drivers - None listed concerning CD drive, webcam, or SD card. Plusnone listed for WIndows 7, only Vista compatible, and the only way to get computer back to Vista is via recovery discs. (Tried copying files to external HDD and booting but failed.)
*Clean installed Windows Vista (Via OEM copy of Vista copied to HDD) No Luck, Lost all netwrok connections and Wireless card wouldnt turn on.
*Updated BIOS
*Installed HP Recovery but failed to install
*Bought external CD drive and tried booting via but not supported.
*Clean installed Windows 7 again - Network Connections Returned, and Wireless card became active, Device manager listed 3 Unknown Devices. 2 listed as "Base System Devices," and 1 as "coprocessor." (which has been listed since the upgrade)
Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions on what else to check? Im at a total loss... I havent actually opened the laptop and verified components status but will do that in the next couple of days. Any help would be GREAT!

First thing let's get the drivers installed properly. You are missing drivers for the main chipset and the card reader. Here is a link to the WIndows 7 guide linking you to the right drivers:

Mac is running very slowly, please help

My mac is running very slowly which is driving me mad! It doesnt seem to be a memory problem, i have 26 Gb free on a 55.9 Gb drive. I have run macjanitor, no problems there.
Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Ideapad Yoga 13 running very slowly - PLEASE HELP

Hi all.
I have had this laptop for a year now, and have had no problems up until now. I was trying to speed up my computer by installing all the updates from Windows Update.
But ever since this, I am experiencing some major lag and slowness.
Specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U
CPU @ 1.80GHz
4GB RAM
64 bit OS, x64 based processor
As of now, I am watching a film, and my process stats are 17% CPU (Chrome 0.8%, Task Mgr 0.2% and VLC 11%), 49% Memory, 3% Disk.
Erm, my lag consists of delayed scrolling, when entering a new URL in a tab I type a few letters before they even appear in the URL bar in the browser, when closing a tab it takes about a second showing a page and then suddenly disappears.
I am up to date with my Windows Updates, and when I look through Device manager, the only devices which show the yellow exclamation mark are the "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller" and "Unknown device".
I have not tried using the lenovo recovery button, as I do not know how to use it. But I am not sure this would work?
I am not much of a tech wiz by the way.

LR 3.5 is Really Running Too Slowly! Help

I have been using LR for some time now, and I have loved using it in the past. Currently I have moved to Camera Raw to get my work done because LR takes entirely too long to load and process updates. I'm sure that I there is something that I must be missing, but I'm not sure what it is. I am working with a very large catelog. Do I need to use multiple smaller catelogs? That would seem to be a bit incoveinient, but I would like to take full advantage of the benifits of LR if I can just get it to respond faster. Please let me know what I am missing here. Thanks!

The first think you already said: you have a very large catalog.
Maybe it's not the Main reason, but could be...
What's your machine comfiguration?
Have experinced this same issue, with new or smaller catalogs?
Can you try and tell us?
Your images are storaged at the main HDD or in a separeated one?
One thing you can try is Optimizing and make a Integrity Check of your catalog.it can increase some performance.

Reader X opens Docs very slowly, need help

Just upgraded to X, prior versions opened files immediately, this version takes 10-15 seconds to open, frustratingly slow. Any recommendations to speed it back up?
Noticed a discussion that mentioned this version accesses internet with every file opened. How much data is exchanged and can this be turned off? Part of speed problem? In rural area, I have limited data usage on wireless card.

I have this problem too and I have since long suspected the sandbox to be the culprit. It wasn't until today that I started Googling it though. I first found this forum and now I think I have found the solution here:

I am in the process of closing my email account that is registered to iTunes. I tried to change it for one of 3 others that we have as a family and because we have so many apple ID's it keeps coming up and saying that the email address is being used. I do not want another email address I already have 5. I am screaming with frustration as what ever I do it lets me do nothing to change the email address and I am about to loose it - what then? How the **** do you find out what other apple ID's are using which email account and is there no way one can just have one simple Apple ID?
So sorry for the rant but my frustrations with iTunes are imense - since the new version came out I have found it really difficult to use and it loads so slowly.

It sounds like one of the AppleIDs has multiple emails associated with it.
For each account, you need to go to
http://appleid.apple.com
and log into Manage My ID
This will show the primary address and any alternate emails associated with it. You cannot assoicate any of these with another AppleID. I *think* if you delete an alternate email, it will become available for use again, but I admit I'm not certain of this.

When the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

USB is transmitting Data Slowly

My laptop is HP-Pavilion DV6t-CTO 3100 Enmtertainment PC,
Product No- WW146AAR
O.S. - win-7 64 bit (Home Premium), Intel i3 processior.
From the past fwe days, it is transmitting the data slowly, please help what should i do in this case, i have already checked the BIOS for USB controller, may be their XHCI port is disabled by whihc it is transmitting slowly, but i did not found this setting their, please suggest me what should i do in this case , waiting for your reply.

-This may seem a dumb question but, about the usb drive and PD where you copyed it from, is it USB 3.0? If it is and the laptop's entrance is still 2.0 you're looking at 10x faster transfer speeds (on the speed limits) and that time difference wouldn't be any strange...
-Other cause for it if it be that you have the latptop with a lower RPM (so lower speed writing/reading) hard drive and you're copying from an SSD/higher RPM drive, and copy to pendrive (as they use flash memory, so compare speed as if was an SSD) is usually faster than copy to computers that use HDD's (rule of the thumb, as long as it's not an ultrabook it uses one). (also make sure to keep the drive defragmented as it's an HDD)
If not either of this, i don't really have any idea of what the problem may be.
Flash memory (SSD's/pendrives) is about 10x faster than phisical memory (HDD's/CD's/DVD's)
Writng speeds on flash are not far from reading (and they are pretty fast), on phisical memory's the writing speeds go down to less than half the writing speeds

8500 Starts up but turns off quickly

Hi all
I have a 8500 Mac that just starts and turn off as soon after pressing the power on the keyboard. I have tryed the power button on the Mac tower (in the front) just in case it would be a keyboard problem but still does the same thing. The thing it does is that it turns on the power light turns off and sometimes it may power on to the chime and then turn off and I can press the power buttun up to 5 times before it stays on and boots normaly and the way I see it, it looks like it's getting worse every week. I did change the pram battery with a good 3.6v (the other was just 3.4v) and it worked good and stoped doing this problem but now it's doing it again and I even did a MB reset but it didn't last and the problem came back. What could it be doing this problem? Can it be my PS is slowly dyeing? Any help with this would be very much apreciated!!!!!

Since you use Time Machine, erasing your Mac and rebuilding your work environment is likely to be the least time-consuming choice:
To erase and install Mavericks read: OS X Mavericks: Erase and reinstall OS X.
The excerpt "Before you erase, back up your essential files" is critical. To do that you can use Time Machine, or simply copy your essential software and other files to a backup device. Depending on the amount of data you have, a USB flash memory stick might be sufficient.
To migrate your essential documents subsequent to erasing and reinstalling Mavericks read: OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks and follow the procedure under Time Machine or other disk migration.
When doing so, select only your previous User account and do not select "Applications", "Computer and Network Settings" or "Other files and folders". De-select those choices. Subsequent to using Setup Assistant, you will need to reinstall the essential software you may require, once again remembering to install software only from their original sources, and omitting all non-essential software.

Where are all the print settings for my HP Officejet 5510 in Mac OS X 10.8.2?? I only have Fast, Fast B & W, and Best. I want Normal so that it looks good but doesn't print so slowly. Help.

Hi,
Change the print settings manually by clicking the lowest drop-down within the print dialog (e.g. the application name, Copies & Pages within MSOffice.
Select Type/Quality and set the print quality as Normal.
You may seve the settings as a Preset from the Presets drop-down menu.

Safari WebKit is Missing

Please help
While trying to fix "localizied string not found" I ended up deleting WebKit (System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/WebKit)
I am new to Mac and I really really really would LOVE it if someone could help me with my problem
I also can not use my MSN messenger or Yahoo IM either now.
Alone with other problems I am slowly discovering =(

what version of Safari are you running? ( Safari menu- About Safari )
1.3, 1.3.1 or 1.3.2 ?
I should be able to rustle up the right files for you.
Incidentally , System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/WebKit should be an alias, which points to
System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/Webkit
but if you've already somehow lost a file, I'd suggest we get the whole webkit framework folder for you, from a system with the same OS & Safari versions.
