HP Dv7t Volume Slider Button Problem............?

Hello, i own a Hp Dv7t Notebook, in the past week my laptop has been acting differnet, My promblem starts with the volume slider button. The volume slider button is located at the top of my notebook and is touch sensitie when you run your finger over it. Before my problem the button when used would adjust the volume and make a "clicking" sound while displaying a window showin g the current volume level......Now, for some reason the button doesnt work in the same fashion as before......now when u use it the button makes no clicking sounds nor displays a windows that it used to, this problem is rather small but it has also enabled my volume to be lower than normal.......but i must say that the button does still work, it adjusts the volume as it should but doesnt do the other things..........i am computer literate and do no how to fix many of my system malfunctions, but this one has me stumped........Sorry for such a long post but i would really appriciate some help, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

It sounds like my problem was very similar to tlee's.

When tech support couldnt fix it I asked for the number to call and return my laptop. Finding that thread changed my mind.

Nokia 5800 volume slider icon problem

Hello everyone I have just bought this phone a couple of days ago and have noticed that when i use the volume keys anywhere else other than when playing music or video back, the volume indicator is nowhere to be seen, the keys still work its just I cant see the slider go up and down . Ive restored my phone to factory settings, reloaded the firmware and still no luck, I did download 1 or 2 themes for it , could that have an effect , thanx in advance

Just tried it on my 5800 and you don't see the volume slider in web, opera etc but the volume adjustment is made. You do see the volume slider in the music or video apps though.
When you use the supplied headphone accessory with the music controls on it and advance the track, you will see a brief scroller on the screen telling you what track you are now listening too. The volume display doesn't come up though.
It doesn't bother me too much at all as I can hear that the volume has been changed.

Volume indicator / buttons problem on iPhone 4

I am experiencing a weird problem ever since I got my iPhone 4. The problem is that the Ringer Volume Indicator keeps popping up on the screen without touching any buttons. When it happens I can only either decrease or increase the volume - only one button functions.
I tried restoring, updating, resettings, and almost everything else but nothing worked.
It works fine for a couple of hours then the problem appears, but after a while everything seems to go back to normal and so on and so forth.

I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem.

I thought so in the beginning, but the problem is not permenant. It happens frequently and every time it behaves differently.

It just happens for several time, then everything is back to normal for a certain time.

Jump to slide - Button problem

I'm using Captivate 5 on XP.
I have a project with a couple of different chapters. After each chapter I've put a self made question slide, basically just a multiple choice sort of question with 2-4 possible answers. If you click on the correct answer you jump to a slide saying you answered correctly and if you click on the wrong answer you get to a slide saying you answered incorrectly.
After you answer a question correctly you get back to the main menu. The idea is that you complete all the chapters and answer the questions correctly to complete the course.
The problem is with the last chapter and the question in the end. When you try to click on the correct answer nothing happens. When you click on the wrong answers you get to the slide you answered incorrectly. Say you click on the correct answer, you're supposed to jump to slide X, but instead it continues to the next slide.
I have tried to create a new button and also tried to create an advanced action saying "jump to slide X". Same result.
The thing is that it always happen to the last chapter, not necessarily the last one in the list. Say I start from the buttom and work my way up the list of chapters, the problem is always with the last chapter you try to finish.
Any idea of what the problem could be?

I'll see if I can explain it better.
Slide 1 starts and plays text and graphics. It runs for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds, my Back and Next buttons appear. The user can then proceed to Slide 2.
Slide 2 starts and plays text and graphics. It runs for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, my Back and Next buttons appear.
Let's say the user hits the Back button on Slide 2. They are then taken back to Slide 1.
I don't want them to have to watch Slide 1's contents (15 seconds) all over again.
If the user moves again to Slide 2 by hitting the Next button (on Slide 1), I don't want them to have to watch Slide 2 (20 seconds) all over again. They have seen slide 2's information already. I want them to see the Next button right away.
Basically this....if a user has been through a slide before, I don't want them to have to watch it all over again.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Mute Button and Volume Slider

Hey guys, ever since updating to Windows 7, if I have the mute button enabled and I accidently hit the volume slider it unmutes. Is there any way to disable this feature and disable volume changes unless it is unmuted? Thanks for any help. I have a Satellite L505-S6959.

You have a couple of options as I see it please find the steps given below.
First try system restore on the unit to the date where unit was working fine if this does not work
Then go to HP website dowload the latest driver for the Finger print and check.
Update the Bios on the unit.
If all these steps does not resolve then last option to is to run a recovery please back up all the data on the unit as it will be lost.

IF it is a manufacturing defect and you bought the device from Apple or an authorized Apple retailer, then take it into Apple.

I can't get the volume to work when I watch a you tube video, there's no volume slide under the play button, and my volume control on my I pad won't do anything either, but the volume of all my alarms and sounds works perfect, what can I do??

HT4993 My volume down button is not working. The UP button works, but not the down button. I have tried to restart it and that didn't solve the problem.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I suppose that you can demand all you want. It would have to be proven that the iOS update broke this particular function but it could also be said that it was just a matter of time that the broken thing manifested itself. Since the phone is out of warranty, it could also be said that it is your risk to update software. I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but we are not Apple. We are users like you and just try and provide support to other users. What you decide to do from here is your decision. I've given you all I know to do.

Youtube videos problem (volume slider + full screen)

I just bought a new laptop, and I'm trying to watch Youtube videos. I installed the latest version of Flash, and the videos at the default size play fine. However I cannot adjust the volume slider. I put my mouse over the icon and it shows the slider, but when I click to change the volume, the slider bugs out and slowly closes back to hide the slider, showing just the sound icon.
Then another bug is when I click to view the video full screen, the playback options at the bottom (play, pause, volume, etc) are hidden behind my Windows taskbar! Sometimes the video bugs out as well when I go to full screen, showing only one frame and it's all pixelated/torn.
This does not happen using Internet Explorer, the volume and full screen work fine there.
Any idea what's going on? I'm using the newest version of Firefox and Flash. (64 bit)

My Pearl 8100 volume automaticallygoes down slightly below halfway when I plug in a wired headset (or Bluetoothheadset) or activate the speaker phone. The volume + up button will not work. The– volume down button works fine and when I push the + up and it clicks but doesnothing. When I’m in headset mode the volume will stay at 100% via calllog<options<general options<default call volume commands… but if push the volume – down in handset mode and try to push the volume back+up …it will not work.
This problem seemed to start around the time when I upgradedto v4.5.0.110. Hard reset does not solve, so I wiped and re-installedv4.5.0.110 but had the same problem. Next wiped and installed an earlier versionv4.2.1.154 but had the same results. Finally, I wiped v4.2.1.154 andre-installed the latest v4.5.0.110 ... again.
So I’m back at where I started ;-(

What is the following code doing:

I ask because onEnterFrame code will continuously execute, and it may be the case that it is resetting any mute action taken as fast as it happens. It may also be inhibiting your volume control from being a volume control.

Volume up button is stuck on iPhone 4S! Is this a hardware problem?

I could really appreciate some help. Bought my iPhone 4S 32gb in Zurich exactly a month ago and live in Greece. There is no apple store here. I wish there is a solution. The volume down button works just fine but the up/+ button is completely stuck. Have done reset but didn't help...

ToolTip positioning and volume 'hit' area problem

Hello,
I have been working on re-skinning the player that comes with Adobe's FMS, in flex builder 3 and I would really appreciate some help on the following issues.
1. Positioning the tooltips. I have figured out how to change the style of these (text, background opacity etc) via the embedStyle.css, no problems with that. However, I just cannot figure out how to actually reposition them from the default position of the bottom right.
2. My volume control (volume slider) sits above my progress bar on the players GUI. You can drag both of these to adjust. However, when the progress bar is under the volume bar the progress bar loose it's interactivity. The volume slider only has a height of 2, but it appears that it's actual button 'hit' area is sitting over the progress bar.
I have do a stack of googling on these but I am still hitting a wall with it. Any help would be much appreciated.

To add to this question: What is the best way to continue the animation until the end when the user exits the hit area instead of just jumping back to the Up state?
