Hp dvd-ram uj8db sata driver

I want to install windows 7 on my notebook. When starting setup installer requires driver for cd-rom. I cant find driver for windows 7. Please help.

We need the model of the notebook. The driver is not for the DVD drive itself but the storage controller on the motherboard to allow the install disk to see the DVD drive. You need to put the storage controller on a thumb drive and point the installer program to it. It is likely the board is set to RAID and you need the Intel RAID driver which is here:
This has 32 and 64 bit F6 drivers for use during Windows installation.

    Hi John,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, right click the drive and select Uninstall - when this has completed, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load for a couple of minutes before checking if it's now listed correctly.

  • After upgrading from Win 8 to 8.1 my DVD RAM GT80N SATA Drive is no longer working

After upgrading from Win 8 to 8.1 my  DVD RAM GT80N SATA Drive is no longer recognizing discs. When I first put a disc in the drive runs for a bit and then stops. I've tried updating the driver but it says it has the most current driver. Under manage, it does not show any error codes and it says it is working correctly. I've looked at the regedit and it does not have any of upper and lower filters. I've tried disabling, rebooting, and reenabling. What am I missing? Another issue I've had since upgrading is that my network adapter needs reset several times a day in order to remain connected to wifi.

  • Replacement MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-875 drive stopped burning cd's

My replacement MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-875 drive has stopped burning cd's in iTunes 10.  The error msg is: "The attempt to burn a disc failed.  The disc drive didn't respond properly and can't recover or retry".  When attempting to burn files from the finder I got the msg:  "The disc can't be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
Is there any hope for this drive? It hasn't been used very much.

    ust a note of interest.
You don't mention the brand of CD and DVD's you use.
Remember there is a huge difference in the Media you buy and choose.
There is also a big difference in the Software you use to burn with.
There are several schools of thought on th entire subject of burning period.
Apple burners are historiclly very picky, and do not like CHEAP Media.
Here is a good guide to use, it is for DVD but I would use like brands with CD's

  • HP DVD RAM UJ8DB Driver Issue, not updating, please help

Hi, I am trying to insert cd/ dvd but it does not detect any cd or dvd i found this issue today. It never showed this issue in the past. I checked on forums, opened device mangager and also tried to uninstall, restart and update or install driver for HP UJ8DB, but it doesn't fix it says windows has determined the driver software is up to date. Please help me fast i want to install antivirus software. I have windows 8.1 PC

It is not a driver issue:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
The above Microsoft article will take you through the possible issues. Does the drive show up in device manager? The BIOS?
Can you boot from it? It is likely either a corruption of the registry which the linked article shows how to fix, or the drive itself is bad and needs to be replaced. Post back to answer the questions so we can help.

hardware or ultrabay problem is your affliction, the included ATAPI Win32 drivers are used to kick start CDROMS for yeasrs now and ever since Adaptec lost the ASPI wars in 2002 (too long of a topic to mention now)
Removing the ATAPi drives is a try but those are proteced with WfP so if they were corrupted, they would've been autmaotically repalced and you would've just gottnen a pop up to have a nice day.
elminaite the ulgra bay or that CD asyour issue, did that drive deteoirate or belly up overnight?
Can it still boot CD's from a cold start ? Can it boot a BARtPE or other type of CD based OS and seeminlgy run w/o hciciupting that one ?
If that ultrabay slot, and that CD works in other opoerating sytems...then you could have an insidiuous but curable problem with Windows Drive FilterLoad order...as haoky as that sounds it is the way Win32 allocates sub funcitons such as CD writitng, litescriinb and DVD burning to a drvies hardware.
IF you renecently isntalled any type of CD burner or speical CD audio software it could be the culprit, don't rule out Roxio Media Manager that RiM upjams into their Blackberry Desktop software for their phones, the horror stories of how people are forcded to reinsatll their entire copy of Windows because Roxio just fuugugueued up their CD drive after hotsyinght their address book of fat friends into their brand new skinny blackberry are commonplace at the annoyance web sites. Sadly, there are documnted instances where Roxio Media Manger jammed into the blackberry deskotpo can even kill of the reigerestred vresions ofr their preexisintg Roxio burner software !!
If that sounds like soemthing that you may have done, then download a copy of ImgBurn, aside from being more CD burner than one person can e3ver user, it also has a verigthtt sreagaetrieforward and clean mneu to reoder qnd rmeove thaose drive filters and could be a two minute tool to get your life back in order.

  • External E-Sata Drive Issues

I have WD My DVD External E-Sata drives attached to my set top box. They work fine for a while, then programs that I delete are still in the list but are marked as deleted and no longer available.

The formatting done by the VZ DVR is NOT readable on a PC so there is no value in connecting it to one.

  • Re-enabling DVD-RAM support?

The DVD drives in MacBook and MacBook Pro (usually Panasonic/Matshita or LG, Googling around found those were the only brands shipped with MacBooks) support DVD-RAM media. However, it seems Apple decided to use "special" firmware that basically cripples the drive and disables DVD-RAM support. Well, at least write support (my MacBooks read DVD-RAM OK).
Is there any way to re-enable writing on DVD-RAM in MacBooks? Some non-offical firmware or something, anything?
I found some firmwares for old PowerBook G4 laptops that re-enables DVD-RAM support. But nothing for current MacBooks.

The DVD-RAM and UDF support in Mac OS X is good. It's been around for a long time too, since Mac OS 8.something. I've just copied over about 40 gigs of data from my DVD-RAMs I used for backup on the PC onto my MacBook (as I said, they forgot to disable reading from DVD-RAM, hoooray). It's just the hardware that's intentionally crippled. I could connect my external LG DVD drive (which supports all formats, including DVD-RAM) and use it to write files onto DVD-RAM media.
However, I don't see any reason why would I need to use external drive when internal drive in my MacBook is perfectly capable of doing it (if it wasn't for Apple that decided to flash it with their own firmware which disables the writes on DVD-RAM media).
If it was a desktop system, I probably wouldn't be complaining much. I'd just use my external LG drive. But it's laptop, and hauling external DVD drive around just because some manager decided users should not use DVD-RAM is not really an option...
If anybody from Apple is reading this, could you guys please with sugar on top re-enable DVD-RAM support in drive's firmware? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Why won't my internal MATSHITA DVD-RAM LF-D211A mount a blank disc or burn one?

Why won't my Dual Processor 500 MHz PowerPC G4, with 2 GB SDRAM, running Mac OS X ver. 10.4.11, equipped with an internally mounted MATSHITA DVD-RAM LF-D211A Drive mount or burn a blank CD, DVD-R, or DVD-Ram disc?
The System Profiler reports as follows:
    MATSHITA DVD-RAM LF-D211A:
      Firmware Revision: A109
      Interconnect: ATAPI
      Burn Support: Yes (Unsupported)
      Profile Path: None
      Cache: 1024 KB
      Reads DVD: Yes
      CD-Write:
      DVD-Write: -RAM
      Burn Underrun Protection CD: No
      Burn Underrun Protection DVD: No
      Write Strategies:
      Media: No
    What is wrong?
    Can it be corrected?
If so, how can I correct it?

I had that machine (PowerMac G4, DP500, Gigabit Ethernet). Expensive and bleeding edge at the time, but the optical drive proved to be of very limited utility. The DVD-RAM will burn only Type 1 and Type 2 DVD-RAM discs. It should also mount and give read-access to Type 1 and Type 2 DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM (including DVD-Video), DVD-R that you've burned on another machine, and CD discs. Here's a long-ago archived info sheet on DVD-RAM technology: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3072.
When prices for optical drives came down, I replaced the DVD-RAM drive with a more conventional CD/DVD burner.

  • DVD-Ram disks won't mount on Dual 450 - help!

I've got a particular and pressing problem. I'm an audio engineer among other things. I have a lot of files archived temporarily on DVD-Ram disks from my old Dual 450. I have to retrieve some files pronto but suddenly the DVD-Ram disk won't mount. The drive spits out the disk as soon as I insert it. It will mount CDs but not these DVD-Ram disks. Please help. I need to back these up off of thse old disks. But more urgently I have pending sessions that require I get some files from these disks. This happens both under OS 9.1 and 10.2.8 the last revisions of this computer I did. But it used to work until a year or so ago.
I have so far repaired permissions, used Disk Warrior and sprayed around the dusty drive with compressed air. It seems that perhapos a mechanism is loose springing the disk out when it's not immediately recognized as a CD or DVD-R.
    Help!

Probably your best bet is to dismantle the drive and try manually cleaning the lenses, which has made a difference for some users.
Other option is to replace the drive with a new one capable of reading (but not necessarily writing) DVD-RAM media. LG-4163B is one such drive, Pioneer DVR-110 can also read DVD-RAM. These drives are under $40 online in the US.

  • Dvd-ram driver loss

Lost the DVD-RAM driver for Mat**bleep**a UJ-812.  As such, the T42p does not address the D drive.  Help!

@danieltc: you could try the "old-fashioned way": remove/uninstall the ATA/SATA controller from the device manager and then let windows search and install (again) the driver for your controller and for the drives (on that controller), including the driver for your optical drive
this should give windows a "refresh" (which is needed sometimes, especially when you upgraded windows -and not clean installed it-)

  • Tecra M7 DVD: CD/DVD RAM drive does not work since installing Vista

I did a clean installation on my Vista Ready new M7. It had XP tablet to begin with and the DVD drive worked fine. Indeed I used it to install Vista (Home Premium).
Now it does not work at all. It spins but does not read. Device Manager tells me device cannot start. Tried to update driver and it told me that it has the most uptodate driver.
Downloaded all the drivers from Tosh download centre for Vista upgrade of M7 (which got bluetooth, screen rotation etc to work fine). But none of the downloads seemed to be a driver for the DVD-Ram drive. Can not find a driver anywhere else (including Panasonic site).
    DVD drive is Mat****a DVD-RAM UJ-841s
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
On the Toshiba driver page you can find the DLA for Tecra m7.
Did you try to install the XP DVD-RAM driver from the Toshiba page on the Vista OS?
    Maybe it will works
But listen the CD/DVD drive uses the common Microsoft drivers which are included into Vista or XP.
Therefore an additional driver should be not needed!
    One additional proposal;
Remove the CD/DVD drive from the device manager and reboot the notebook.
After new reboot the OS should install the drive again and should renew the software.
    Other hint:
    - Start the registry
    - Choose the registry key;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    - In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters and LowerFilters then click Delete.
    - and restart the notebook

  • T60 HDD res. partition, USB ports and DVD-RAM drive no longer recognizing data/media!

I have a base installation of the IBM T60.. I made no modifications to the setup or configuration of how the HDD is structured nor have I downloaded and installed any strange drivers... only automatically downloaded drivers from Microsoft update and manually downloaded driver updates from the Lenovo website.
One day everything was working fine.  Next day, my USB devices, reserved partition (can't remember what this is called) and the DVD-RAM drive stopped working but power was still getting to these devices.
My DVD-RAM drive is seen as a DVD-RAM on first bootup.  When I insert a CD or DVD media in the drive, the Explorer tree changes DVD-RAM to CD-ROM in the Explorer (really strange).  It behaves like there is no media in the drive.  Cannot boot with that drive either.
In addition, I have external USB HDD and Flash drives as well.  None of them work on this T60 anymore.
When I plug in an external USB HDD or Flash drive, I get "not formatted" error message and a prompt to format my drives?!
I tested these USB external drives on a desktop machine and verified that they are working 100% fine.  So the problem has something to do with my IBM/Lenovo T60.
It almost seems like something broke on the motherboard perhaps?  I downloaded and installed the latest BIOS updates as well to no avail.  Please help.  Thanks in advance for your time and consideration of this issue.
