HP Elite 7300 crashes

Hi,
my brand new HP Elite 7300 suddenly reboots during gaming and other activities
I bought it on monday, it happened with the preinstalled Windows 7 OS, and it also happened when I installed Windows 7 from scratch - both with or without Sp1. I've tried with a minimum of drivers installed - it happens anyway. I ran Memtest86 overnight, but it could not find anything wrong with the RAM.
It just turns black and reboots. In my eventlog I get the following.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x00000116 (0xfffffa8004a294e0, 0xfffff8800f8a6f10, 0xffffffffc000009a, 0x0000000000000004). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: .
Any help?
best regards

Hi,
Can you play light games ? Do you know what is the minimum requirements for the game which causes the computer malfuntions ? Based on this, your machine should be able to play light, simple games which do NOT require higher graphics.
Regards.

  • Elite 7300 won't boot anymore

    hi,
i have a hp elite 7300 which worked fine and with zero issues. today i restarted it and now i can't get past the blue hp splash screen ("press esc for boot options") at the very start of the boot process. i unplugged everything, switched ram around, removed the bios battery, nothing. the only reaction i can get is beeping when i turn it on without any ram. does that mean my mainboard is dead and gone? anything i can do to fix it?

  • Graphics Card not working on my Hp Elite 7300 Series MT

    Hi,
I have a HP Elite 7300 Series MT desktop with the following specs:
    Pegatron IPISB-CH2 Motherboard
    core i5 2500 3.3GHz
    6 GB DDR3 Ram
    gigabyte Superb e620 PSU
I just bought a powercolor HD7950 PCS+ graphics card, but it didn't work as I'm not getting any display on the monitor.
I tested the card on another computer and it was working just fine.
can anybody tell me what is the problem, could it be a compatibilty issue because the card is PCIe 3.0 while the motherboard supports PCIe 2.0 ?
    HELP PLEASE!!!

Okay so powercolor tech support finally replied here is the message i recieved from them:
This problem seems the UEFI function compatible problem. If HP doesn’t want to update their MB BIOS, could you please supply card back side label photo as attached picture to us? We need it to check your card information and supply a non UEFI BIOS to you to flash card.
    Best Regards
I dont know how to attache photos here otherwise i would have sent the photos to you as well
This is exactly what I suspected.  They are tying to lay the blame on HP, but they simply got ahead of the curve.  They knew that HP and other manufacturers didn't have UEFI in their BIOS'es.
If you don't know how to add a photo, I suggest simply read the lable and copy it to the email to them. Please click the "Thumbs up + button" if I have helped you and click "Accept as Solution" if your problem is solved.

  • HP Pavilion Elite e9220f crashing repeatedly after critical update

    HP Pavilion Elite e9220f, Windows 7 64-bit.
Crashed on 5/9/13, wouldn't reboot. Freezed with blinking cursor in upper left corner of blank screen after HP splash screen.
Changed HD from RAID to IDE mode in BIOS and Windows started but crashed with blue screen on trying to install the IDE controller driver automatically after start-up. Blue screen crash codes indicated the hard drive controller was the source.
System Restore lists several critical updates for Windows over the last few weeks. I ran System Restore in safe mode to 5/4/13 restore point, then rebooted to safe mode for confirmation of restore, and it then booted normally and successfully installed the IDE controller driver, but then crashed again as soon as subsequent critical updates were reinstalled. Disabling Windows Update via services.msc then restoring to 5/4/13 again finally stabilized the system, able to use normally without crashing.
To try to solve the underlying problem preventing further critical updates and allow me to turn on Windows Update again, I found the firmware update on HP's site for the hard drive, WDC WD10EADS-65M2B0, from version B0 to BX. However, after updating the firmware to BX, Windows now crashes upon starting even still at restore point 5/4/13 or even all the way back to 4/28/13, and now before it can even attempt to install the IDE controller. In otherwords, updating the firmware made it worse. The system is again unsable.
    Anyone else having this problem?
    JoEbYX

I agree that it is inexplicable, if that was indeed the case.
If the PC has a single drive, then it makes zero sense to use RAID mode. RAID is an acronym which stands for redundant array of inexpensive disks. The use of any form of RAID (0-5) requires a minimum of two physical hard disks.
AHCI and IDE are the only viable options with a single hard disk.
Did you make a backup or image of the hard disk?
    What is the installed OS?
You will need to  enable the SATA msAHCI driver in the operating system as this Microsoft document explains. Use the Microsoft Automated Fixit on the document to resolve the issue. It will take care of the registry change required. Afterwards you will need to enter the BIOS and verify the SATA mode is set to AHCI and if not, change it to AHCI before the next boot into Windows.

May computer has started crashing with either re-booting or BSOD's. I am running the system with Vist 64 bit, all original hardware (I have not changed out anything) :
    AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-core processor 2.50 GHz
    6GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 9800GT
I have run all the hardware diagnostics (PC Dr.) both in dos and from windows and eveything has passed. I have formatted and re-installed everything and have made sure everything is up to date. But my screen still flickers or blue screen of death, or re-boots randomly.  I keep getting the error that nvlddmkm device driver has stopped functioning or needs to be recovered. I am at a loss as to where else to check..

    Hi,
Download the latest NVIDIA video card driver from the NVIDIA web site to your desktop. Download Driversweeper and use it to remove the NVIDIA stuff.  Read the directions. Then install the NVIDIA driver.
Check here for software, bios and firmware updates.  Look at the updates listed under VISTA
You might also try removing the video card and switching to on board video to see if your video card is the problem.

  • Install SSD in hp 7300 Elite

Greetings to all. Tell me, can I install  a 120 GB SSD in my hp 7300 Elite (http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04131049)? is  there a free slot sata2 and a spare power cable SATA? or should I buy more cable?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
First thing: your link is getting nowhere but I've found the following information:
HP Elite 7300 Microtower PC - Overview
It's a business machine actually, no motherboard information but as you can see above: it can have TWO standard 3.5" HDD's that means you have a spare slot for one HDD or SSD. With SSD, many of them are only 2.5" format therefore you need a case/caddy/bracket set for it. Please use the following document(s), specially the 2nd guide, to get more information how to upgrade/maintenance your machine:

  • Netscape 4 crashing PowerMac 7300 I need help with troubleshootingem

My PowerMac 7300 crashes every time I launch Netscape. It's exactly the same on every partition. I deleted the preferences and the same thing happens. I used Disk Warrior on the drive. I don't recall how to troubleshoot the errors or to retrieve my old emails.
No matter what partition I use to open up Netscape it starts to launch (I get to the mail window and as it's loading the mailboxes it pops up this error.
Netscape was unable to create a network socket connection.
There may be insufficient system resources or the network may be down. (Reason:) Try connecting again later or try restarting Netscape.
It finishes loading the mailboxes and then crashes with an old nemesis.
The application "Netscape Communicater" has unexpectedly quit, because of an error of type 3 occurred.
You should save your work in other open applications and restart the computer.
I used to use Netscape 3 and then 4 for email. I stopped updating the email downloaded to my old PowerMac a few years ago. Every once in a while I'd open Netscape to to look for old emails.
Anyone know how to get access to these emails?
    Thanks.
p.s. as a stop gap I have now been able to launch Netscape in Classic mode on my PB and access the email stored in backup folders on an external disc, but I'd really like to get the old Mac working again. I copied the Netscape preferences from the old PowerMac so maybe the prefs aren't corrupted.

Hi EWW, thanks for the quick reply.
    It's not webmail. The emails are stored locally on the old Mac and were downloaded from a POP 3 mail server years ago. As recently as late 2005, I was still downloading POP mail with Netscape 4. { I kept the email on the POP 3 server so it could download to both the new and the old Macs. }
Netscape Messenger has the option of working offline and if I could get it to load, I would set it to do just that. It crashes even if I'm already dialed in to the internet.
I wonder if the latest OS 9 Mozilla which is on the PM can open the mail. Maybe I'll try that.
Yes, the PM7300 is old but it's always been 100% solid and reliable and has been my internet connection on the too numerous occassions when the Powerbook has been in for it's annual or semi-annual hard-disk repairs. I can connect to the internet with the old PM and in fact on dialup it's faster than my PB I still can get old versions of Mozilla, IE, YIM, AIM, a MSN Messenger, and Fetch to connect on the old PM. I only do this occassionally though.
Until I can't get replacement parts, I'm going to cling to this PM7300. It's still works great except for this crashing of Netscape 4.

Hi! I got this computer not long ago,and it's now been beeping on me, Tried replacing RAM, Taking bios battery out, also tried resetting CMOS, nothing worked, Any fix?

Thank you for your follow up and supplying the requested information. Much appreciated.
I am not sure if you tried the following but I post it since you have gone through so much already and we have not found the answer to success for you.
Think about downloading and installing the free 30 day tryout of Premiere Elements 11 from Adobe. See if you can get it to run as the trial version. If and when you do, then open it an insert your purchased serial number when it asks "Buy Now" or "Continue the Trial".
But, please make sure that antivirus and firewalls are off during this download and install and until you see that you have Premiere Elements 11 project open and ready to work.
    What do you think?
We will be watching for your follow up.
    ATR
Add On...By the way, did you ever say how you installed Premiere Elements originally....from installation disc or from installation files from online download from Adobe? What I have suggested best lends itself to installation disc since there may be a problem getting a second download of installation files from Adobe since you already have done that.

Hey, so i am sitting on a HP Elite 7300 and today i got my new PSU and graphic card delivered.
My new PSU is a Corsair CX500 and graphic card is Gigabyte 750TI Windforce.

Thank you for the additional information.
No, if the BIOS was set to Secure Boot and the video card is Legacy, which it no doubt is, the card would not work properly.
Since you have all of the connections made correctly and there is no Secure Boot to be concerned about, did you uninstall the driver for the Integrated Video and reboot: Device Manager / Display adapters / right click on your device and select Uninstall?

  • Pavilion Elite e9180f freezes, crashes, BSOD

I am one of the many unhappy customers who bought this piece of junk (Pavilion Elite e9180f) and waited too long to return it because in my naivete, I thought it was some kind of simple software issue.  Nope!  It's definitely something wrong with the hardware, because the freezes and crashes have been happening since day 1, right when I took the thing out of the box.
Yeah, the system is fast and runs Windows Vista great, when it's actually WORKING, which is usually only guaranteed for about the first 5 minutes after you power the system on and boot windows.  After that, it's just buying time before it crashes again.  Forget trying to get anything done on this computer.  Forget about asking this PC to play a video or music file without the files "stuttering" during playback.  Even my 7 year old Sony Vaio which is running XP can handle playing an MP3 file without stuttering and crashing!
Like everyone else, the freezes and crashes happen either one of two ways:
    1) The machine begins to "stutter", stutter more, then freeze/crash.  When I say stutter, I mean I move the mouse, the pointer graphic will hesitate on the screen and lag behind.  If you start to play a video or music file, this manifests in an audible "stutter".  The stuttering gets worse and worse as minutes pass until eventually it freezes for good, blasting that 1/50th second moment of audio into infinity.  You have to reboot immediately if you don't want to go deaf or be driven mad.
    2)  I will be doing nothing at the time (example, I close all programs out and leave Windows sitting on the main desktop screen), I'll walk out of the room for a minute, then come back and find I can't move the mouse. This system will often lock-up without any warning!
Sometimes I'll get a BSOD or error screen, sometimes I won't (in which case your only option is to do a cold re-boot.)  When I do get the BSOD, the error is ALWAYS the "did not get a response from the secondary processor" yada yada.  I wish HP would just admit they shipped this model out with a bad processor/motherboard/whatever and do an official recall.  I have owned PCs for the last 13 years and this is the worst and most consistently disappointing experience I have ever had.
What is the hardware issue?  Which part is the lemon part?  The motherboard?  The processor?  The BSODs seem to indicate a bad processor.  I do have the Pegatron Truckee version 1.03 motherboard.  Is that the problem?
P.S.  I have contacted HP on many occasions about this, literally stayed on the phone for hours with "customer support" (according to one HP rep, 80% of their customer service reps are based outside of the United States...good luck getting any "technical" help from them) to no avail.  I did talk to one nice tech support guy in Canada who said "it sounds like your unit has a bad processor", so he had HP send me a box to ship my unit to their repair center so they can replace the processor.  However, I have also had HP reps tell me it could be anything from the memory to the hard drive.  Multiple HP reps claimed to me that they have "received no complaints" about this system.  One guy told me he "thought he got an email last week" regarding "something" about the system, but couldn't remember what it was and he put me on hold while he searched for the email.  He never found it.  What a joke.
EDIT:  Just to clarify, the crashing issue has been happening since day one, but initially I thought it was an issue with Vista.  I had never owned or used Vista before, so I thought maybe Vista was just unstable.  Nope.  I know several people who own Vista and have never experienced these issues.  I have downloaded every update from Microsoft/Windows Update.  I have upgraded to Vista SP2 with all the latest drivers and software for all of my hardware.  No luck.  It is definitely a hardware issue.  Thank god HP's warranty is good for 1 year (I bought my Elite in July).
Message Edited by Doonyman on 09-24-2009 02:58 AM

Unfortunately I have to add my disastrous encounter with HP's E9180F a true lemon HP is selling. I must take some responsibility for not carefully researching this model before I purchased, but I trusted the HP name and got stung- big time.
    The scoundrel  :
HP and its Pavilion Elite e9180f
    Windows 7 64bit
motherboard - Pegatron  Truckee ver 1.03
    BIOS ver  5.22Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
    Memory 9206 MB Ram
As so many others have reported my HP E9180f started locking up and going to BSOD right out of the box. My first freeze-up came when I was doing the Windows update process. At first I didn't think much about it but I started getting random freezes a couple time a day. At that point I went online to see if others had experienced the same problem and perhaps had a fix. What I found was very troubling;  I found extensive documentation describing my exact problems and what was really horrifying was the reports of how ridiculous HP's help services were treating people with the problem. At first I didn't totally believe what I was reading on HP's own customer forum; I do now.
    ·         I've went through the total recovery process three times now, HP techs have spent hours remotely running my computer, (yes it did lock up on them to)
    ·         I had to upgraded the BIOS. (HP tech tried, said he had, but he hadn't)
    ·         I was directed to clear the BIOS (luckily for me I had the tools
    ·         Updated all drivers again and again.
    ·         Next I was asked to remove the video card, memory, and motherboard power cable and reseat them. I declined because I didn't want to give HP any reason to void my HP 2 year House Call Care Pack which covers this unit. When I invited HP to send a service tech out to perform these tasks, they said that house call only covers part replacement, we weren't replacing a part. I couldn't believe what I was told. Are you feeling my frustration?
Keep in mind that each time HP requests that I make changes, they then ask me to test the system, which I did and each time with the same result, BSOD
I'm heading into my fifth week of working with HP to fix this problem. and I still haven't even been able to get my case moved up to a senior case manager, what a joke HP's help process is.
     One conversation I loved was;
HP tech: "I'll have a senior case manager call you within 24 hours."
Skeptical me: "What should I do if I don't get a call?"
    Silence, no response.
Me again: "What should I do if I don't get a call?"
    HP tech: "That's an impossibility."
Guess what? The impossibility became reality (I bet you guessed) .
HP's last stall tactic was to have me fax them my proof of purchase and invoice and call back in 24 hours. Where have I heard that before? Apparently nothing can go forward until they receive it. So I faxed them the stuff within 10 minutes, and when I called back 24 hours later, guess what, you're right it wasn't on their system yet. I asked couldn't I be escalated to a senior case manager  (it's apparent that only a senior case manager can do anything). "No," was the tech's reply, "call back again later".
Please if anyone out there knows the secrete to getting a senior case manager, or an HP tech support number here in the U.S. so I can get this thing fixed I'd love to know it.
    Fast becoming HP never again.

Before I sent my computer in for the LWSEP I was experiencing lock-ups and crashes only when I was multi-tasking (playing video games, listening to music, and having tabs open in firefox).
So I sent my computer in for the LWSEP to receive a new motherboard to fix these crashes, however after receiving my computer from them, the lock-ups and crashing have not been fixed and, in fact, have gotten worse. My computer will now lock-up and crash whenever I attempt to stream anything, be that music, video, etc. I can still occasionally play video games, assuming that I am doing nothing else, and that my computer cooperates with me (not locking up), but this only happens about 1/3 of the time.
My main confusion is that sending my computer in was supposed to fix my problem, not make it worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Joey, welcome to the forum.
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome?  Sometimes a glitch will occur during the original install.  This can cause the problem that you are experiencing.
Also, you may want to try Internet Explorer or Firefox to see if you receive the same error message.  This will tell you if it is a problem with Chrome or a system problem.

  • X-Fi Elite Pro Dissapears in Device Manager after Crash

    Hi guys...
I have a big problem wich is may already mentioned in this forum...
Its kind of strange that the sound card is working really good but when my pc crashes and i have to restard the pc the xfi card is not deteced any more
There is not even a yellow questionmark indicating that there is just a driver issue...
    The card is just away...
And now it comes even more strange... i switched of the computer and next day... the card was deteced and working like there werent any wrong...
Its also really freaking me out cause i played oblivion and the game crashes... i've waited 30 minutes and then the game shuts down and windows gave me a error message that my graphic card is not working property o.O
So its may the issue adresses to my graphic cards?
So just to give a detailed view to my problem i show my specs:
    Mother Board: Extreme Striker
    Chipset: 680i NVIDIA
    Graphic Card: Sli 7800 XTX
    Sound Card: X-Fi Elite Pro
    Ram: 4gig
CPU: X6800 Intel Core 2 Duo
    O/S: Windows Professionel 32bit

It really depends on the connection electronics. Having nothing connected doesn't mean anything really. Try connecting something THEN test the noise level!
