HP Elitebook 8460p screen flicker & blinks issue and upgrade help.

Greetings,
I have a problem with my Elitebook 8460p. My old servant service me since 3 years. We have an good relation with highes and lows. Changed hdd, upgraded rams, monthly cleaning and etc.
Anyway; I have a problem with flickers and blinkings. When i push the start (On/Off) the computer, some strange black lines appear and never gone. The funny part is that the black lines, blinkings/flickers gone crazy when i touch the touchpad. But if i didnt touch the touchpad the black lines comes less.
Things i did;
Checked electrical parts - No electrical leakage (Checked with ohmmeter)
I tried to run with on AC and on Battery - Nothing changed.
I was disabled ambient light sensor - Nothing changed.
I was disabled touchpad - Nothing changed.
Formatted, update the BIOS to latest version, w7 up to date, No unknown device, performed stress test CPU & GPU, performed reassemble & assemble Nothing changed.
My suspicion;
The CPU   Because this computer VGA card integrated with CPU. Changing CPU, maybe fixing all problems.
I want upgrade my computer to i7 and my choice : Intel Core i7 - 2670QM.
My reservation / questions;
Is Intel Core i7 - 2670QM CPU compatible with my QM67 Chipset? If compatible; what i need to do? (BIOS update, or different BIOS version etc.)
I have some information about this situation and my notebook.
The Video
Hp Elitebook 8460p series using Hannstar MV6 and my motherboard is same. Non VGA. I'm worry about the my solution. If i'm wrong; i spend my money for nothing.
I'm waiting ur answers.
Thank you.

  • Screen flicker stops after Leopard upgrade...

I have been suffering from the dreaded screen flicker affliction for about 3 months now on my Nov. 07 MB c2d. I upgraded to Leopard yesterday, without any issues at all by the way, and my screen appears completely normal with no flicker at all. Hopefully this will last.
Is it possible Tiger was the cause of the flicker and not the inverter like so many had theorized?
In any case, there may be hope for all those afflicted with that annoying problem...:)

Brand new MacBook Pro with Leopard and brand new 23 inch cinema display… I just saw some very noticeable screen flicker on the desktop picture. It was most noticeable when I had lots of windows open and could only see about an inch or so of the desktop at the top. It lasted maybe 5–10 minutes and stopped.

  • My screen is blinking since latest upgrade?

What causes screen to blink or flash? This started after latest upgrade. How can it be fixed?

OK, well that isn't very definitive. However you can try some basic resets like doing a PRAM reset and SMC resets. If you don't know how to do these then please click:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3603
You may need to do each up to 2-3 times for them to work.

  • Encore 5.5 Check Project Issues and Adobe Help

Ok, so I am fairly new to Encore and my years of experience with DVD Studio Pro gibve me some insight into DVD design and Menu construction. However, trying to follow the logic in the Encore workflow is very frustrating. For example, I run the Check Project Panel to see where problems in my DVD authoring and construction have hit a snag. The problem is the Check Project Panel, although it opens a Properties Panel that Panel does not show a specific location of the issue. For Example:
    Check Project shows:
Button Menu Item 1  (Problem) Link Not Set
In The PROPERTIES Panel it lists
    NAME: Menu Item 1
    Number: 12
    Type: Normal
    Link: Not Set
How, from this information, can I locate the button in question. I  If in the CHECK PROJECT panel it indicated the location of the button, which menu, then OK I can locate it. Or, if in the Properties Panel the Button Location as to which menu is in question then OK I can locate it. But there is no Menu description. Instead you have to go through each Menu to locate the item. When working on a production deadline, such issues waste time. In DVD Studio Pro these issues did not occur. Although Encore allows alot of creativity, DVD Studio Pro, even the last version, is superior to Encore in my opinion. It is no wonder that over 70% of production houses preferred FCP to Adobe. Here's an idea for the Encore engineers, create an automated section where alot of traditional authoring issues are automated (BTW your Library of Menus are pretty bad in my opinion) so that it is easy to import a 35 chapter project and have it automatically set up a 4 or 5 menu page DVD and link all the chapters and Previous and Next buttons as well as the navigation of the buttons. Your current version wastes too much time and the Adobe Help is like being handed the text book and having to read the entire set up theory rather then link to specific issues. All of this for Standard DVDs not Blue Ray.
I have already received an apology from Video2brain.com regarding an incorrectly placed reference in Adobe Help i.e. "We'll be working w/ Adobe Help to get that description changed for that particular video, since it doesn't cover color correction in nesting sequences."  In this particular case Adobe Help sent me to a Premiere Pro reference where the video explained the basics of Nested sequences but did not cover the specific issues I had and was seeking a reference for. Such poorly designed reference points added to the lengthy explantions one has to read through for Help, makes Adobe Help almost worthless.  By comparison Apple references were very clear and to the point, in most cases. It seems that although Adobe Encore and Premiere have some very nice features, but they don't make up for some very big holes in this product.
Again this is my intial impression of Encore and Adobe Help from a former FCP/DVD Studio Pro user.

I have not used DVD Studio Pro, but it has sounded like this is simpler there.
To be sure we are talking about the same Encore workflow, see "chapter index" and "multipage chapter index."

  • Having Kernel Panic issues and need help

So about 6 months ago I had a HD crash, I restored it through disk utility and reloaded from my last time machine backup.  Ever since then my computer would turn off randomly and I didn't know why, looked into it a bit more and thought the HD was bad so replaced it with a 500Gb SSD.  When I got that I used a HD clone to copy the drive over and the problem still continued.  I noticed it was when I would try and do something that might be a little taxing on the system like open a big program or stream something with other things open.  All things that might stress the system, but nothing out of the ordinary and never had an issue for the years I had the computer before the crash.  I looked into the issue more and have tried to trouble shoot the issue and this is what I have done/found thus far.
~Replaced HD to a SSD HD with no improvement
~Put new SSD in a totally different MCB and the issues still stand
~Reloaded Mavericks on the HD and it is still happening (Had an issue when trying to erase the HD in recovery, Disk Utility said it could unmount the disk when I clicked the drive, but if I clicked that name of the drive indented under neath it worked)
I have included my latest panic log in hopes for some help.  The new MacBook Pro that I put my HD in I got second hand and said they were having some issues with it, but it only happened when they upgraded to Yosemite.  There was nothing wrong with it previous, so I think I eliminated the possibility of it being a Hardware issue, but not 100% on that. Thanks for the help, Chris

    New updates:
I pulled the SSD out and put it into an external enclosure and was able to fully erase the drive through disk utility.  From there I used the bootable disk that came with the computer which put snow leopard on.  From there I upgrade through the app store to Mavericks, I used the computer all night with no issues or reboots at all, was finally able to run a Hardware diagnostic with nothing showing up there after the extended test.  I am now running Mavericks and am transferring data off my external, but only the essentials such as music and pictures with fresh installs of all applications.  Everything was going great... until about 5 min ago.  As I was transferring about 250Gb of music I opened a browser and had a kernel panic shutdown.  I have included the log, hoping it was just a fluke thing, but don't have any faith at this point

  • Software updating on the Mac Pro Issues / and Upgrading issues to Maverick on the same Mac Pro

Here are the Screen shots I took which I can't seem to solve with my basic understanding of the Mac
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

You're getting the message because you're exceeding the available current, probably as a result of bus-powered drives. The power sources for hubs are rather small. Try using drives with their own power supplies.

  • My screen blinks on and off then goes black

I will be in the middle of something, and they screen will blink off and on again a few times, then go blank.  I leave it for a while, then it comes on again. One time it came on but with weird colors.  Any ideas?

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Qosmio F10-124 - Pixelated screen, flicks into blank, then comes back to normal

It looks like the graphics hardware has failed on a pc bought in April 2005.
This occurred in stages, starting from around the time when I received
    1) An automatic download of windows updates and
    2) And Adobe upgrade.
In Sept 07. Do not know if this is at all related with the screen malfunctioning.
The screen has at best operated intermittently, with only access being possible using the external VGA port.
The latest Toshiba screen drivers for the WMD operating system did not rectify the problem.
In the last couple of days pixilation has occurred in various parts of the External monitor screen, whilst the laptop was just blank, up to that point the external screen was displaying my work just fine. Occasionally the laptop screen flicked into life and the pixilation has become more prevalent recently. The occurrences of the laptop screen working were random.
I need to have the screen settings such that the external monitor is a mirror of the Laptop screen to do anything on the laptop.
Rebooting the PC has no effect.
The latest symptoms are that the external screen shows that the OS has booted, but there is an alignment problem causing a pattern to appear across the screen, and this is "ghosted" ?? with several iterations of all screen events across the width of the screen output. The Laptop screen is not working at all at present.
Anyone have any ideas what could have caused this, and/or how to fix it??

The graphic card chip seems to malfunction. Your described issue sounds really like a chip fault
But please note that this is only my personal assumption and if you want to be 100% sure whats wrong then you will have to contact the service provider in your country for a detailed check.
In worst case the motherboard must be replaced because the GPU chip is fixed on the motherboard and cannot be removed.

  • Can anyone help me get my Apple TV display to stop blinking on and off every second?

    Hi,
My Apple TV is a little under a year old its not version 1 I'm pretty sure it's 2... When I started it up the other night it came on but the display in the screen was blinking on and off about one a second non stop.  The white light on the Apple TV is solid white.  I was behind an update so I updated it using restore and when it came back on the display is still blinking on and off.  When I restart it, the initial apple logo comes on solid which gave me hope but once it transitions to the initial menu screen it starts blinking again.  Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks for your time,
    Dadguy

    Hi again,
A couple more things I should add.  Everything else plugged into the plasma screen works fine, Xbox, satellite, wii etc...and I did change hdmi cables with the Xbox and the Xbox still worked fine and the Apple TV continues to blink on and off on screen.
    Thanks,
    Dadguy

  • HT5455 Is It normal that my premium category 15" retina MBPs screen has ghosting issues, then I get declined from screen replacement?

Is It normal that my premium category 15" retina MBPs screen has ghosting issues, and I get declined from screen replacement?
I have purchased this hardware in Budapest for approximately 3000 usd. I was a bit shocked to see screen ghosting after a few days of use. The problem was getting worse but because I am a design consultant working mainly on my Mac I couldnt take a week off to leave It at an Apple service station.
Last week I was surprised to receive the information from the local Apple repair shop in Germany that my retina MBP that I bought 13 months ago was declined from screen replacement by Apple.
Considering the price of the product I find It unacceptable that I need to work on a defective product and see shadows every time I leave an Illustrator or InDesign window open for a short period of time.
Is there any way to resolve this issue? I wouldnt like to pay another 800 dollars just to replace a component on my defective Apple product.

Contact Apple Support directly.  In Germany the Expresslane or this number
0800 6645 451 will allow you to speak directly to someone from Apple.    Explain your situation.   Mind you, AppleCare and issues with Apple products like this have to occur without any user accidents or user installed parts to ensure that Apple will cover you.  If there was a user accident or installed part, you may be turned down.  If you have the original Apple parts, and did the installation yourself, replace it with the original parts very carefully following the directions on http://www.ifixit.com/ unless you can afford an authorized service provider to do it for you.  Since we don't speak for Apple here, being end users like yourself, that's why I say "may", as I've seen Apple handle these things on a case by case basis.  So hopefully you don't have any obvious damage that looks like it is user caused.   Good luck!

  • Problems because multiple AppleIDs and no help from iTunes Support

I am a VERY frustrated owner of 9 separate Apple computers/iPads/iPods/iPhones.  Over time, I have been forced to change my AppleID on 3 separate occasions (non-e-mail to one with e-mail, non-me.com to an @me.com to move my mobile me to iCloud), and now my devices do not update apps unless I Sign into different accounts than my new primary iTunes Account...the one that I need to make the whole iCloud BS to work.
It is VERY clear to me that there is very little coordination between depts at Apple, which with a VERY closed architecture is not a good thing.  All I want to do is shift prior purchases to my new primary AppleID but iTunes Support has been no help to date.  That only adds fuel to the fire as my Apple ownership experience has already been less than stellar.  Candidly, I are ready to move back to the Windows world and sell my new iPhone 4S to get an Android phone.  They seem to be advancing a lot faster anyway from what I can see and it would be pretty awesome to be able to view a Flash video again.
Aside from the aforementioned rant, has anyone else had problems with iTunes multiple accounts issue and upgrading to iOS 5?

I am having problems with the password for computer, itunes, icloud, apple ID.and since the apple tv update yesterday, I spent lots of time trying to sort it all out. Today I called Apple  support, and he helped me make necessary changes so remote in ipad, iphone and apple tv worked with the different passwords changed to one.
Several hours later it is rejected in all devises for home sharing and I get an errorfile://localhost/Users/barance/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202011-10-25%20at%206 .39.41%20PM.png
Mad asd **** and not sure what to do?
    Thanks anyone who can help

  • Workflow issue after upgrade to ECC 6.0

    Hi,
we are facing an workflow issue and thought if someone has faced similar issue and could help us.
We've an approval workflow for purchase requisitions through release strategies. For some steps, if the approver is 'WF-BATCH' user, we are executing that step using a program. This program first set the workitem to completed status( this part is working), then it will close the purchase requisition to release status for a particular release code( this part is working) and then we are triggering the 'RELEASE' event for the business object providing the Object key which should take it to the next step( THIS IS NOT WORKING). The business object is custom. This was working perfectly in 4.7 version of SAP but this logic is not working in ECC6.0. we are using SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to trigger the event. But the workflow doesn't move on to next step.
Have anyone of you have any idea as why this might be happening. Any information on this would be of great help.
This is happening in ECC 6.0. USED TO WORK IN EARLIER VERSION.

    Hi,
Is WF-BATCH having proper auth. ?
Or, if you are using the FM SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT in some program and is scheduled as a batch job, then that user under which this batch job is runnign should have proper auth. to raise the event. Please check those.
Also, what the error (if any) says in SWEL ?

  • How can I get apple to warranty my iPod touch 4th gen? It has always had issues and seems to be a lost cause. Will not connect to wi-fi. It also has cracked screen, but that is not the issue.

It has a cracked screen also but that is not the issue. I am willing to live with the screen

Unfortunately, ANY signs of 'neglect or damage' automatically become the cause of any issues you're having. As in it doesn't matter if your screen was flickering before it was dropped, when they see the dent or cracked screen, that screen flicker was caused by the drop. Because they  have no way to know if you are telling the truth (it's nothing personal, they just literally dont' know) so any signs of damage become the reason for your issue. The only way out of that is if you had taken in your iPad and, even if you didn't get it replaced, an apple employee can have documented that yes, that issue existed before the drop.
It's not fun, I know, but that's just how it is. Any signs of 'neglect or damage' and that 'neglect or damage' is the cause of your issues.
