HP ENVY 100 D410 Printing issues...

I have an HP ENVY 100 that has recently started having printing issues.  We recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and had no problems in the upgrade nor have we had any other software that we've changed.  The problem seems to be somewhat random and the results are always the same.  When commanded to print the printer acts as if it is running out of ink and then distorts the fonts creating vertical lines on the page and skipping rows creating what almost looks like a bar code. It's most peculiar and the only way I can find to solve the issue is to completely restart both my system and the printer.  Thinking that I had a driver issue on my Mac I used the utility on the printer to update drivers and none were found.  To insure that the problems wasn't isolated to just my machine I tried our laptop as well and it seems to have the same problem.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

Hi Talon,
That more liekly related to the software indeed, I would suggest trying the following steps:
Reset the printing system as listed below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01371980
Open the Applications folder, then Hewlett-Packard and then open the Device Utilities folder, launch the HP Setup Asisistant and follow the steps to reconfigure the device.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder simply re-add the printer by clicking the plus button under Print & Scan.
Now try printing and follow for any difference.
If the same persists uninstall any HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller under the Hewlett-Packard folder.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder follow the steps listed under Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 > I used Apple Software Updates to install the product software below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02440673&tmp_task=useCatego ry&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5157536#N1305
Download and isntall the latest Lion Software below:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-97934-2 &cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=4073738&sw_lang=
Once completing the installation click the Apple icon and install any available Software Update.

  • Help with HP Envy 100 D410

Hi, i recently got my printer about a month or so ago. It worked fine....and it printed fine...
But when i try to print things out now, it wont print. I checked the networking wireless setting on the printer....on the printer it says its connected. I printed a wireless report from the printer, and it said that no problems were found.
However.....i cant even find the printer on my network on my computer now. When i try to run the envy setup on the computer, the printer cant be found........even though it says on the envy touch screen that there is no problem, its connected, ect....
It has printed out things before.....not quite sure why its like this.
I tried closing my firewall and trying to search for the printer with the setup....still cant.
Help on this would be greately appreciated

I had a similar situation just yesterday. There's an easy solution if you're having the same problem... but don't know for sure at this point.
First of all, assuming you know for sure that the computer(s) and printer are indeed connected to the same network, can you ping the printer? (Or just try typing ther printer's IP address in your web browser's address box to access the embedded web server)
If no.... what make/model is your router?

  • Mac Acrobat Pro v9.4.1 will not print to HP Envy 100

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.1 for the Mac on Mac OS X 10.6.5 or 10.6.6 was printing PDFs find to my new HP Envy 100 printer.
I have the latest driver updates on the printer.
I've tried deleting Acrobat preferences files - a common tactic to take on a Mac that clears up lots of issues. It didn't this time.
I can take the very same PDF files and print them from the Mac OS X utility Preview just fine with no issues. Try Acrobat no luck.
Not sure how to proceed right now. I see Acrobat go through the motions of printing and I even see the HP printer icon appear in the Finder dock like it does anytime you print from an application, but it quickly disappears and then the printer never does anything. Nothing is queued. It is almost as if Acrobat sent a zeroed out or null file to the printer queue.

I have the almost exact same problem. Popped up out of nowhere. When I tried to print something today wirelessly from my Macbook, the computer tried endlessly to connect to the network, but failed. Everything is fine when I directly connect the printer and the Macbook. I have now deleted that networked printer from my list and when I try to add a new printer, the system is not finding any printers.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Printing Issues with HP OfficeJet 100 and Windows 8.1

We use HP OfficeJet 100 mobile printers and have a printing issue. When we print the printer acts as if it is going to print and then prints one blank page.Printer will not print even though it is showing as default printer.Printer will just stop printing in the middle of a document, even in the middle of printing out a page. We are printing via the USB cableWe are using Windows 8.1We are connecting to laptopsWe have been using the HP mobile range of printers since 2004 and have only experienced these issues since we moved the laptops onto Windows 8/8.1 We have:Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers – this fixed this issue for a short while and then it reappeared againCalled HP support and they directed us to the driver support page which had the latest print drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers with them on the phone. This initially fixed the problem and then it returned a few days laterAfter trawling the support forums found directions to change the print processor to “WinPrint” – No effect as the processor was already on this settingDownloaded the HP diagnostic tool – HP Print and Scan Doctor – didn’t fix anything Any further help would be much appreciated.

Hello there Lawrence, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the troubles you are running into when you attempt to install your OJ 6100 printer on your Windows 8.1 laptop. I read all of your attempts and seen you have tried several methods to try and get the installation to complete successfully.
I would like to make some suggestions that may help. Let me know how it goes!
    1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: How do I turn off Pop-up Blocker?
    Try to install
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
    How to disable realtime scans
    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Try the install

  • I bought the HP Envy 100 printer with my new Macbook Pro 13" and it does not seem to work with Lion.  Any suggestions?

I bought my daughter a new MacbookPro 13" for grad school and selected the HP Envy 100 printer from the Apple Store website.  When I just tried to install the printer, it said that that the software was not compatable with Lion.  Any suggestions as to how to get it to work?

Sorry, but the response just takes you to the HP site which is of  all possible assistance short of actual help!!
HP (and Apple?) need to fess up and tell all the people who have HP printers when they will "just work" with their machines and OS X Lion.... because for many of us, they just don't! It isn't rocket science guys.... blithely telling us that downloading S/W updates from Apple doesn't help.... because they don't solve the problems!

  • My HP ENVY 100 D410a is connection issues between MacBook Pro OSX 10.6

Both my Macbook Pro OSX 10.6  and my HP Envy 100 D410a is connected to my wireless nextwork. Everything was working fine until recently, my macbook does not connect, - keeps saying the printer is offline when it clearly is on and connected. I have tried to reinstall all printer software and drivers from CD and the HP site, it fails when the laptop tries to connect to the printer.
Any advice / help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Can I delete a network I created and now want gone outta the router(airport extreme)?
Sure.. a reset will surely do it.. a removal of the offending name will also do it.
Can I delete all networks by resetting the router back to factory settings?
    Sure can.
I also have this UPDATE "A newer version 5.6.1 of airport utility is available"  it KEEPS opening when I open my Airport Utility APP, but when I click on it to UPDATE nothing happens, ever. Im already running 7.6.3
    Bit of confusion here.
Latest version of the airport utility for snow leopard is indeed 5.6.1
Open the airport utility, about .. and check what version you are running.
The very latest airport utility is 6.3 and only can be installed on Lion or Mountain Lion computers.
The firmware latest version is 7.6.3
which makes it all a bit confusing.

  • How to print wirelessly from my Mac to HP Envy 100

I have Mac desktop Mac OS X 10.6.8 hooked up to a wireless router and the HP Envy 100 .  how do I set up the Mac to be able to print wirelessly.  My iPad works perfectly but I just can't get the desktop to work.  Any help would be great.

Open Print & Fax preferences. Click on the Add [-] button to add a new printer. In the window that opens click on the Default icon in the toolbar. You should see the printer listed. Select it. OS X will then look for the printer driver needed. After it's found click on the Add button.

  • Envy 100 printer and Windows 8.1

Just received my Envy laptop and went to pair it with my previously owned Envy 100 all in one printer. I got the following message: This computer does not meet the following system requirements...and goes onto list only Vista and Windows 7 as bening compatable. Is there a way to pair these two

    Hi,
A full feature software is not available for Windows 8.1, checking the setimated ink levels cannot be done from the PC.
Check the I've always used HP Solution Center and HP Toolbox. What do I use now? section below as a reference:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03460648&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_u...
You may print a self test report as following, the report should show the estimated ink levels or show the print quality is free of defects:
Print a self-test report to make sure that the hardware functions correctly.
Load plain paper in the paper tray.
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
Press and hold the Power button.
Press the Resume button () four times. The self-test report prints.

  • IPad printing to HO envy 100

Periodically my iPad looses contact with the HP Envy 100 that is part of the local wireless network in my home, and it isn't clear why. Usually printing from the desktop will bring it back. Any suggestions?

    Waldhaus-
It is possible your WiFi router has a problem with AirPrint.  Check to see if there is a firmware update available for it.  (Your desktop uses the printer's native language, not AirPrint.)
Also check to see if there is an update available for the printer.  This is best done from the printer's control panel, in one of the setup or preferences menus.
Another thing you can try is to unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds.  Then reset the iPad's network.  Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You will need to reconnect to WiFi.

  • Envy 100 eAll-in-One D410a (US) doesn't work with cartridge HP300 (Europe)

    Hi all,
I bought a HP Envy 100 eAll-in-One (CN517A) D410A in 2011 when I was living in the US. I always used HP60 cartridges without any problems while in the US.
In 2013 I was relocated to Europe (Luxembourg), and recently my last supply of US-bought HP60 cartridges run out, so I went out to buy new ones. HP60 is not available where I live, so I bought HP300 which explicitly says on the box that it is suited for "HP ENVY ENVY100 D410a". However, when I put them in the printer I get a "The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured." error on the printer.
I tried the eight solutions as explained here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02436437&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...
None worked. I put back in my old HP60 cartridges and did no longer get the error message and I can print (but poorly because these cartridges are almost empty).
Could it be that the HP300, by design, does not work with the US-built printer that I have even though the HP300 packaging box clearly says it should? Is there a way to make it work (firmware update?), or do I need to either buy HP60s from the US or get a new printer here in Europe?
Any clues or pointers to a possible solution would be greatly appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Paul
