HP Envy 100 e-all-in-one D410a series

Why can't I install onto my ipad2

Hi kmhomewood,
There is not a driver to install the HP Envy on your iPad2. If the printer and the iPad are on the same wireless network, and you cannot find the printer when you go to the print function, there are some things you can do:
Go to the Setup menu (wrench icon in the top right hand corner of the printer).
Go to the Web menu.
Select Product updates.
Select Check for product updates, if available, install them.
***NOTE- setups 3 and 4 may require you to enable web services first.
Try to AirPrint from the iPad again.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

The printer is connected and all other functions are working, it is just the apps get a connection error when I try to connect.

Check out this document.  It's about this specific error.  I had the same error message and downloaded all the updates.  Now the web apps are working.

  • Envy 100 eAll-in-One D410a (US) doesn't work with cartridge HP300 (Europe)

    Hi all,
I bought a HP Envy 100 eAll-in-One (CN517A) D410A in 2011 when I was living in the US. I always used HP60 cartridges without any problems while in the US.
In 2013 I was relocated to Europe (Luxembourg), and recently my last supply of US-bought HP60 cartridges run out, so I went out to buy new ones. HP60 is not available where I live, so I bought HP300 which explicitly says on the box that it is suited for "HP ENVY ENVY100 D410a". However, when I put them in the printer I get a "The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured." error on the printer.
I tried the eight solutions as explained here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02436437&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...
None worked. I put back in my old HP60 cartridges and did no longer get the error message and I can print (but poorly because these cartridges are almost empty).
Could it be that the HP300, by design, does not work with the US-built printer that I have even though the HP300 packaging box clearly says it should? Is there a way to make it work (firmware update?), or do I need to either buy HP60s from the US or get a new printer here in Europe?
Any clues or pointers to a possible solution would be greatly appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Paul

  • I bought the HP Envy 100 printer with my new Macbook Pro 13" and it does not seem to work with Lion.  Any suggestions?

I bought my daughter a new MacbookPro 13" for grad school and selected the HP Envy 100 printer from the Apple Store website.  When I just tried to install the printer, it said that that the software was not compatable with Lion.  Any suggestions as to how to get it to work?

Sorry, but the response just takes you to the HP site which is of  all possible assistance short of actual help!!
HP (and Apple?) need to fess up and tell all the people who have HP printers when they will "just work" with their machines and OS X Lion.... because for many of us, they just don't! It isn't rocket science guys.... blithely telling us that downloading S/W updates from Apple doesn't help.... because they don't solve the problems!

  • Envy 100 D410a HP Am I being difficult?

So approximately a month ago I purchased an Envy 100 d410a from the HP home store in the US.  Upon receiving it, I found it to work great except for the front cover door refused to go down when the printer went into standby.  I went to these forums and found that the issue was known and according to some a hardware problem and others a firmware issue.
Read the following link for more detailed info:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/HP-Envy-100-eAll-in-One-Printer-D410b/td-p/350...
Jump ahead and I am on my third refurb that still has the same issue.  I have a case number with resolutions and spoke with them today.
CSR:  It looks like the issue is still there so how about we replace it with a new printer?
Me:  Sounds great lets do it.
CSR:  Before we can send the new one you have to send us the old one.
Me:  That won't work because my wife is in school and needs the printer right now.  Can you just charge my card and then refund it once the original returns  (I still have my original as I send back the refurbs each time).
CSR:  Unfortunately we are unable to do such a thing because the purchase is actually coming from the HP store which will charge you and I am unable to get you a refund.
Me:  Well what other options do I have?  Can I hold onto the current refurb past my 15 day limit in order to ensure we have a printer in the house and then send it back?
CSR:  I am sorry sir but the reason you gave for keeping the refurb printer is not valid and you would be charged for it. Perhaps you could go to Best Buy and purchase one and then return it.  But at this time you can choose to live with you current printer or send it back and get a new one.
Me:  So your company has sold me a defective printer and has invested money shipping me 3 refurb printers in the hopes of fixing a problem that noone knows what it is and now you want to send me a new one but are refusing to allow me to hold onto my old one until the new one comes even if I am willing to give you my credit card number as collateral (just like we did with the refurbs).  Or for that matter allow me extra time to hold onto the current refurb until the change process has happened.
    CSR:  Yes.
Me:  That is unacceptable customer service, what other options do I have?
CSR:  You have until Friday to think about it.
Me:  I am going to wait and see if a firmware update will come out that resolves the issue and in about a month I will call you back if the problem remains and see about switching then.
CSR:  That is your choice sir, but be aware that the new printer may not be an option as a replacement at that time.
    Me:  I'll live with it.
So obviously this is all paraphrased but the meaning is clear.
And my question...Well am i expecting too much from customer service to accomodate my needs?
Generally i am willing to work to resolve issues, but as the defect is theirs and as I am willing to explore other options (holding onto the refurb, using my card for collateral), I am disappointed by their inability to work with me.
HP employees and others please chime in.

    Hi Ciara,
Thanks for asking.  As a matter of fact the new firmware came out a couple of weeks ago and my printer is working well.
It is too bad that communication between tech and customer service is lacking.  If from the beginning I was told by the CSR's that  a firmware update to "fix" the issue was in the works and the best option was to wait it out for a certain amount of time before looking at replacing the printer I would have appreciated the honesty and while not happy with having to  "wait" I would have understood and since my issue did not effect the printing functionality of the printer it would have made sense.
I understand HP is a large organization but they really need to figure out how to disseminate information to CSR's so they can communicate right with customers the first time.  They will only get so many chances.

  • My HP ENVY 100 D410a is connection issues between MacBook Pro OSX 10.6

Both my Macbook Pro OSX 10.6  and my HP Envy 100 D410a is connected to my wireless nextwork. Everything was working fine until recently, my macbook does not connect, - keeps saying the printer is offline when it clearly is on and connected. I have tried to reinstall all printer software and drivers from CD and the HP site, it fails when the laptop tries to connect to the printer.
Any advice / help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Sure.. a reset will surely do it.. a removal of the offending name will also do it.
Can I delete all networks by resetting the router back to factory settings?
    Sure can.
I also have this UPDATE "A newer version 5.6.1 of airport utility is available"  it KEEPS opening when I open my Airport Utility APP, but when I click on it to UPDATE nothing happens, ever. Im already running 7.6.3
    Bit of confusion here.
Latest version of the airport utility for snow leopard is indeed 5.6.1
Open the airport utility, about .. and check what version you are running.
The very latest airport utility is 6.3 and only can be installed on Lion or Mountain Lion computers.
The firmware latest version is 7.6.3
which makes it all a bit confusing.

    Hi,
A full feature software is not available for Windows 8.1, checking the setimated ink levels cannot be done from the PC.
Check the I've always used HP Solution Center and HP Toolbox. What do I use now? section below as a reference:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03460648&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_u...
You may print a self test report as following, the report should show the estimated ink levels or show the print quality is free of defects:
Print a self-test report to make sure that the hardware functions correctly.
Load plain paper in the paper tray.
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
Press and hold the Power button.
Press the Resume button () four times. The self-test report prints.

  • Could anyone tell me why my HP envy 100 would suddenly stop scanning

All of a sudden my HP envy 100 printer will not scan or copy. It did scan and copy at one time but not now.  The white light is moving like it is trying to scan, but the preview comes out just a bunch of lines. I printed it, thinking that maybe the preview was not working, but exactly what was previewed (a bunch of lines) is what printed.
I am kinda frustrated - first none of the apps work, and now this. The only thing it is still doing successfully is printing from both my notebook and my ipad. I guess I should be grateful for small favors...
Anyway, if anyone can help with a suggestion I would be most appreciative. I am not a tech geek but I do have some knowledge so I might be able to try a suggestion if anyone has one. Thank you!

  • HP ENVY 100 D410 Printing issues...

I have an HP ENVY 100 that has recently started having printing issues.  We recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and had no problems in the upgrade nor have we had any other software that we've changed.  The problem seems to be somewhat random and the results are always the same.  When commanded to print the printer acts as if it is running out of ink and then distorts the fonts creating vertical lines on the page and skipping rows creating what almost looks like a bar code. It's most peculiar and the only way I can find to solve the issue is to completely restart both my system and the printer.  Thinking that I had a driver issue on my Mac I used the utility on the printer to update drivers and none were found.  To insure that the problems wasn't isolated to just my machine I tried our laptop as well and it seems to have the same problem.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Hi Talon,
That more liekly related to the software indeed, I would suggest trying the following steps:
Reset the printing system as listed below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01371980
Open the Applications folder, then Hewlett-Packard and then open the Device Utilities folder, launch the HP Setup Asisistant and follow the steps to reconfigure the device.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder simply re-add the printer by clicking the plus button under Print & Scan.
Now try printing and follow for any difference.
If the same persists uninstall any HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller under the Hewlett-Packard folder.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder follow the steps listed under Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 > I used Apple Software Updates to install the product software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02440673&tmp_task=useCatego ry&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5157536#N1305
Download and isntall the latest Lion Software below:

  • Why does iTunes use 100% CPU all the time, hogging my Macbook Air?

Decided to post this here instead of the iTunes forum, since it might be related to hardware too.
New owner of a 2011 13" Macbook Air, core i5 based.
My problem started about 1 week ago, after it had run out of power completely one day. At the first boot after that it was incredibly sluggish, totally unusable. After waiting for 5 minutes and still being unresponsive, I turned it off and then back on. Then it booted fine. HOWEVER, ever since that time I noticed the following behavior:
    - iTunes stays at 100% + CPU all the time, mostly between 100-120%. Even if it's not playing. Even when I deleted the entire library and left it empty.
    - iStats reports CPU idle between 50-65%. However, CPU temperature is still about 55 degrees C (which, I think, is far less than what it should have been with 50% idle cpu). I can confirm the low temperature by touching the chasis.
    - the cursor freezes and jumps every few seconds, making the mac kind of unusable with iTunes open.
This has been going on for 2 weeks now. The problem goes away every now and then (iTunes sometimes goes back to regular CPU usage of 3-5%), but most of the time it's there.
    Help!
    P.S.
    Mac OX X 10.7.2
    iTunes 10.5.2

Cee Pee You, is a OS modification. Apple recommends that you un-install these prior to a OS update because Apple makes changes to the OS all the time which breaks programs like these.
I avoid Unsanity LLC products like the plague. Notice the company is a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), which makes it difficult to sue the company in case of a defective or malicious product. So the risk using their products is all yours. Their APE framework modules have been used for malicious purposes because anyone can write a module that uses the APE framework.
I also avoid installing anything that requires a administrative password unless I completely trust the source, like Apple mostly. That admin password is the key to the security of our machines, not to be given out lightly or carelessly.
You'll have to contact Unsanity's [email protected] because what I'm reading online is it's very difficult to remove as it doesn't "exist".

I'm on a Mac (OS 10.5.8).  I just changed from USB cable to wireless two days ago.  Everything was printing fine from my Envy 100 D410e.  Today, it won't print anything -- says it's not connected, but my Network Diagnostics says everything is fine.  So I'd rather go back to using my USB cable.  How do I do that?  [The one suggestion I saw in the forums for the same problem offered up a download "fix" that was a .exe program.  Uh...for a Mac?  That's why I want to go back to using a cable.  This is so not worth it.]

HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Version 3.2.1 does not work on iMac 20-inch, Mid 2007. Only recognizes scanner not USB printer.
I would like to print via the USB connection instead of wireless (the wireless does work, and the scanner works via USB).
I tried connecting the printer directly (via USB) to my MacBook Pro laptop and it worked just fine.
How can I make this printer work on my iMac?
I spent 4 hours on the phone with HP and we did every combination of installation of drivers ad nausum and their bottom line is that it is a Mac problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Will be sending this printer back to Amazon if I can't make it work on the USB.
I am open to questions or suggestions
    Thanks,
    Chet

After 4 hours on the phone with HP and another hour with Apple (Mavericks support) no real solution other than check everything (removed everything from Login Items, removed all HP software anywhere in the system reboot, reinstall printer) then when nothing worked for the 4500, did an OS Reinstall (boot with CMD+R).
The Mavericks support group did open an incident (# 542875311) and I will update it when I figure out how to find it on the system.
My feel is that the base problem is that somewhere between the HP-Inkjet-SW-OSX-Mavericks_v12.34.49-2 package and the Apple HP Printer software in the Library (version 2.16.1) the app for printing via the USP Port just does not get installed for the mid 2007 20 inch iMac. The scanner is recognized on the USB Port and the Printer works fine on Wi-Fi. I have too many devices to burden my home network with anothe device. Also, every time I put any HP Printer on Wi-Fi, my router (Netgear N600 WNDR3400 running 12 to 20 devices depending on who is home) gets wonky (but that's anothe story...).
Additionally, when I attach the HP Envy 4500 to my MacBook Pro (2010) it works perfect - print and scan via the USB prot and both functions show in the System Preferences - Printers and Scanners just as expected and just as the 3050 does.
