Hp envy issues

my lap top has an error message when connecting to the printer. it finds it when i do the wireless search, but wont connect to print. there is a password on the printer but idk if this is the issue or not...

Hi @jonhall5217 ,
You would use the password when connecting to the printers network via wireless direct. you should not need to do this when printing.
I would like to get this fixed over the forum, but our technical support department has the ability to remote into your computer.  I feel the hands on approach that this can provide, would give you a quicker and more solid solution.
Also you can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Beats Edition Envy Issues

First off, is 106.9 degress on the left palm rest and 118 degrees on the bottom 'acceptable' heat when doing any graphics work on the unit?  I realize its an I7, however other notebooks I've seen with I7's don't generate this heat, maybe its the construction of the unit without proper heat venting thats the issue.
The purple webcam has been addressed a million times, seems nobody wants to fix or even acknowledge that issue.
I've read SSD drives do not function properly in this unit, some 4000 write issue or something.
Anyone know if this can be fixed?
My plan was to gut the unit, put thermal paste on the I7 and graphics heatsink, and switch the 7200 RPM drive out for a solid state one, just to actually make the notebook possible.
However isn't this extreme considering a 2000 dollar notebook shouldn't be this problematic, has anyone had success from HP switching it out or refunding due to these issues?
    Any help or insight appreciated-

  • HP Envy trackpad issues

Hi, I hope this problem can be fixed without having to return my laptop. I bought an HP Envy about a week ago and I've been having issues with the touchpad/trackpad or whatever you'd like to call it. My product number is E1P04AAR. The touchpad just simply doesn't behave. It's not precise, it rarely lets me right click, sometimes only clicking it works and sometimes only tapping it works. It jumps around sometimes for no reason at all. This is really bothering me and I hope someone could please help me out or tell me what to do. Thank you.

Hi hamdiabdi, welcome to the HP Forums. I understand that your TouchPad is acting erratically.
Maybe "Adjusting TouchPad or ClickPad pointing sensitivities in Windows 8", "Turning all TouchPad gestures off and on in Windows 8" and "Troubleshooting when TouchPad does not work in Windows 8" will have useful steps to try from this document: Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8)
Let me know if any of those steps help

  • HP Envy 4-1215dx Sound Issues

Hi, I own an HP Envy 4-1215dx. It's a great unit overall, but I am having problems with the audio on it. From the day I took it out of the box it will randomly spew out quick bursts of buzzing/crackling/digital noise whenever I try and play some sort of media, it will appear to have stopped for a while but then start doing it again, it is quite intermitten. It does it with sound from the internet such as youtube, playing MP3's, and even in Games. It is extremely irritating and I need to find a solution. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers and have had no luck. Doing a quick google search, I found out that there are several other people with the same problem, yet the only answer they get back is to reinstall the drivers. I have done this already and it does not fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello Livingedge,
I understand that the driver is an older version. This is the version that is available for your specific product on the HP Driver & Software page. I have been able to locate a driver that is also IDT, but the release date is 2013-09-30. I have included that driver here for you 'IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver'.
If this driver fails to resolve the sound issue, I would keep an eye on the 'HP Driver & Software' page. This is where if and any updates are available, will be provided here.
    Thank you.

  • HP Envy 17 3D 1201tx issues, need urgent help

I had purchased HP Envy 17 3D 1201tx notebook back in March 2011, but could hardly use it due to some personal problems at my end. However, after 8 months of the purchase, when i used it, I found the BDROM drive was not working, and later on the internal cooling fan also stopped working. As, I said, due to personal problems I could not contact HP, and the laptop was not again in use for many months.
I had just about six months back started gettings SMART failure of HDD, and the hard drive gave way as well (sic).
I've contacted HP just few months back to get a paid service, but rather giving service, they misbehaved. I'm now seeking help on HP support forum, please help me getting past the issues with this expensive laptop.
    issues:
    1. BDROM drive would not recognize/read any writable or re-writable CD/DVD and it only recognizes read-only CDs.
My query is "is the optical drive dead or service able?"
    2. Internal cooling fan is not working. Is it service able, can you guide me "how to open the laptop", so I can service or replace the cooling fan with a new one myself?
    3. Internal 640 GB Toshiba HDD that came with the laptop is dead now. I have selected the following two, can you advise, which is the best between the two:
    a. WD 1 TB LaptopInternal Hard Drive(WD10JPVT/WD10JPVX)
    b. Seagate Solid State Hybrid Drive 9.5 mm thickness 1 TB Laptop Internal Hard Drive (ST1000LM014)
    4. I also want to upgrade the RAM from factory installed 4 GB to 8 GB. Can you please advise me the dual channel RAM modules (i.e. 4x4 GB)  compatible with Envy 17 3D 1201tx.
May, I request the experts here, to please suggest me the best of the compatible RAM for my laptop, so I get the maximum performance from my laptop. And, also the technical details of the factory installed RAM.
    I'm live in Delhi, India.
    Thanks in advance.

Bdrom probably dead. Can buy a replacement one off eBay easy enough. Replacement normally only one or two screws.
Personally I would go for seagate drive but western digital will be fine so long as you have the recovery media.
Disassembly of laptops can be tricky if you are new to it. Too long to explain here but Google for a service manual for your unit or a YouTube video. With patience and a good screwdriver it's not too much trouble.
Depending on what's wrong with the fan (man be just clogged with dust) you may need a replacement. Look for spares on ebay or spares supplier.
Ram should be easy to find out, Google the part number or check the bios. You can check the manual for compatible ram or try Kingston/crucial ram checker database (not guaranteed but rarely wrong)

  • HP ENVY 100 D410 Printing issues...

I have an HP ENVY 100 that has recently started having printing issues.  We recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and had no problems in the upgrade nor have we had any other software that we've changed.  The problem seems to be somewhat random and the results are always the same.  When commanded to print the printer acts as if it is running out of ink and then distorts the fonts creating vertical lines on the page and skipping rows creating what almost looks like a bar code. It's most peculiar and the only way I can find to solve the issue is to completely restart both my system and the printer.  Thinking that I had a driver issue on my Mac I used the utility on the printer to update drivers and none were found.  To insure that the problems wasn't isolated to just my machine I tried our laptop as well and it seems to have the same problem.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Hi Talon,
That more liekly related to the software indeed, I would suggest trying the following steps:
Reset the printing system as listed below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01371980
Open the Applications folder, then Hewlett-Packard and then open the Device Utilities folder, launch the HP Setup Asisistant and follow the steps to reconfigure the device.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder simply re-add the printer by clicking the plus button under Print & Scan.
Now try printing and follow for any difference.
If the same persists uninstall any HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller under the Hewlett-Packard folder.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder follow the steps listed under Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 > I used Apple Software Updates to install the product software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02440673&tmp_task=useCatego ry&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5157536#N1305
Download and isntall the latest Lion Software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-97934-2 &cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=4073738&sw_lang=
Once completing the installation click the Apple icon and install any available Software Update.

  • HP Envy 15-q004tx Touchpad Issues

Alright so I've been having some issues with my HP Envy 15-Q004TX and the touchpad.
I recently purchased the laptop, and it was going fine.
I decided to speed up the laptop and bought a 500GB SSD to put inside, and install windows. Altough this laptop did not come with a CD, through my University I was able to get an install of Windows 8.1 Professional free, and so I installed that.
    So what's my problem?
Well every so often the touchpad begins to spazz out. The cursor begins to jump all over the place, sometimes it will automatically open windows 8's charm bar. Sometimes it just stops working for several seconds. But worst of all, sometimes the two finger scroll will just stop working, and instead of scrolling, the cursor just moves up.
THe only way to fix it, is to go to the mouse settings in the control panel and select 'Reset Devices' and then it just works as normal. Sometimes the mouse will be find for half an hour to an hour, sometimes I will need to reset it after 5 minutes.
    What I have done.
    Reistalled Windows
    Completely uninstalled and deleted drivers
Installed new drivers from the official HP page
    Tried other versions of drivers
No matter what I do, it eventually stops working properly. This is incredibly annoying.
If I cannot fix it, I'll take it back and get another.
    Thanks very much!

I'm having the exact same issue! Nothing seems to work, HP Suggested a driver down grade, that worked for about 30 minutes.. And also to take my battery out and hold the power button to drain the laptop of static or something, niether worked for longer than an hour!

  • HP ENVY m6 Notebook PC trackpad issue even after HP repair

2 weeks ago i sent my HP ENVY m6 Notebook to the HP Repair center because i was having major issues with the trackpad. It would not move fluidly, and click, and move on its own.
I received my laptop back today anticipating that everything would work perfectly but some of these same issues are still occuring. The touchpad and the cable that connects it were both replace and the laptop was wiped clean.
The toucpad will work for sometime then all of a sudden become glitchy. This is really effecting my usage of the computer. It is a huge inconvenience to pay for a laptop and have a major component malfunctioning. I'm currently using a wireless mouse again.
Since the hardware was replace is there a software problem. This sems to be occuring to so many people.
    What is going on?

  • HP ENVY 6t has many issues with USB headphone, Bluetooth and more serious issue

HP ENVY 6t doesn't work with USB headphone, unfortunately. could u let me know how to fix it?
Bluetooth mouse has been working for a day, it suddenly stopped working. Having checked the PC bluetooth connection, which said "Working properly".   Could you let me know how to re-connect, or re-work?
"Not complete shut-down" blue screen issue right after receiving the HP PC when I closed display to be in sleep mode.
I see the "Safe mode" "...." or "Normal mode" screen always.
The HP PC is not stable UNFORTUNATELY.
Even if just brand new HP PC, there seems to be many issues.

I would recommend using this document for your mouse: http://goo.gl/XDRRy
And using this document to troubleshoot your headphones issue: http://goo.gl/hV9fu
Most of the time with USB headphones, you have to download the driver from the manufacturer before they will work properly.

  • HP Envy 17334 Touchpad issues

I wanted to let you know these are the things my touchpad has been doing:
-Very sluggish when first logging in to the computer.
-Randomly opens up windows that the arrow hovers over but I don't click on.
    -Jumps around.
    -Makes the window half screen.
-And just now when I logged on the slight tap on the left side doesn't work anymore and I have to click it all the way for it to take action.  Last week the right click didn't work.
I have noticed that when you right click on the button on the lower right bar that looks like a index finger (says HP Control Zone when hovering over it) that if I go to Pointing Device Properties, then HP Control Zone Settings and click on Reset Devices, then click OK, that it worked just fine, but I have to do it EVERY time I log in to the computer, and then this last time when logging on, everything worked fine EXCEPT the left side light tap doesn't work: I have to click once hard instead of soft tap to get it to work when wanting to open up something.
I Googled problems people are having that are just like the ones I am having with the touchpad on the Envy and I have to say that this is quite frustrating and I'm scared I'll have the same results they have had, which with all of the things they tried -- only a few people seemed to have success with what troubleshooting techinques that were suggested to them.  Some have actually even exchanged and gotten brand new computers and then had the SAME PROBLEM!??  Is this because the touchpad is a relatively new design and not perfected?  I just bought this computer and like everything about it except obviously this problem -- A regular mouse works just fine, but I can't use a mouse most of the time because this computer will be used while travelling which I will be doing a lot of.  HELP!  If I send it in do be worked on will it even help as some of the people I've seen online are saying they are still experiencing problems.

  • HP Envy 4500 connection issues

Hi. My Envy 4500 all the sudden will not print, becuase a message on my mac printer icon reads, 'Printer not connected." It HAS been connected....I don't know what happened. The driver appears to be missing from my computer, too. The printer itself, which is wireless, is lit up, so it is on. Ideas? Thank you.

Hello @bogarrity, and thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I see you're running into connectivity and software issues.  I'd be happy to help!
I am posting an HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which version of the Mac operating system you are using:

I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers.

  • HP Envy 15 fan issues and freezes

I recently got an Envy 15 via America (I'm British, currently living in South Korea) and absolutely loved the thing up until this past week.
I was running Crysis (and had been for a while with no problems) but noticed a strange sound over my headphones. I took them off and heard a horrible grinding noise coming from the (normally fairly noisy) fan. This is something different. It sounds like the fan is either loose or is brushing against something as it revolves. It seems to only do this when I run high performance programs and briefly when I turn it on, although more recently, I have noticed a louder than usual fan noise when it is fairly idle. Over the past two days, the Envy has frozen entirely when just web browsing (once on YouTube and once on Vimeo which leads me to think it may be a graphic-orientated problem).
I've used compressed air to see if it was a dust issue, which didn't seem to make a difference, and I updated the BIOS to F0.7 ( long shot) which also made no difference.
I'm concerned with my Warranty not being valid in Korea, and perhaps having to send it to America may have some issues too. Actually contacting HP Support is an issue as I can only use Skype to call and even selecting the language in the US phone support won't work without an actual phone. My Korean isn't amazing, so explaining things over the phone to Korea HP Support would be tricky too. I need the computer for a number of work-related things and can't do without it for an extended period of time. Seems like I'm in a bit of a tough situation.
Any suggestions? I assume opening it up will void the Warranty.

Use a programme called GPU-Z (its free google for it) , to moniter your temps your other temps aren't that high, the cpu can take up to 90c before it shuts down, the harddrive is the most important and should be no more than 40c.

  • HP Envy 13 Battery issues

    Hi
I have an HPEnvy 13 notebook with the battery & slice battery it came with.  I noticed recently that with the battery plugged in and the AC adaptor connected it would say "plugged in, not charging" and it would never power on when using battery only.  I tried this with every combination of main battery, slice and main+slice.
The batteries slowly drained and are now unchargeable in this laptop.  I tested the batteries in my mother's HP envy 13 and both the batteries worked OK.  Neither of her batteries worked in my laptop but they DO in hers.
I've tried resetting the BIOS to defaults, tried hard resets - basically I've tried following all advice on the HP site that I can see to resolve this.  The battery checker says all the batteries need replacing but the battery checker on the other envy says they are OK.
I have just spent £45 buying a brand new battery for this laptop and fresh out of the box, never been used, the HP battery checker says it needs replacing.
I think this is wrong.  I think the laptop is at fault, all evidence suggests the batteries are good and it's only the laptop that's broken.  I've checked all connectors, none are bent and all look clean (no dirt/tarnish buildup).  I've also tried removing & reinstalling the ACPI drivers to no avail.  Windows 7 is fully patched and up to date.  The laptop does not generate any errors that I can see.
Please can someone assist?  It's at the stage now where the notebook is useless as a laptop so I'm considering other options.
    Many thanks

    Hi davidc34,

I see your  notebook is not charging the batteries, but the batteries do charge when you install them in your Mom's Envy 13 . You took her battery and installed it  in your Envy 13, but  it did not charge either. You tested the batteries with your Envy and it said to replace them, but when you test the same batteries in your Mom's Envy they tested fine.
Having tested the batteries in this way, rules out the batteries themselves and brings us to the notebook.
