HP Envy M6 CANT RESTORE!!!

Ok, to make a long story short and cut out all the un-needed info, i was informed by a tech to take another copy of windows and install it onto my hard drive to correct some partition issues created. After attempting to install my windows 7 on the laptop but endless failures because of the GPT file partition system and such i was sent some recovery DVD's. I get through to the end and it simply says recovery failed.
My options are SAVE LOG, Details, RETRY..... Retry ejects the tray asking for Disk 1 to redo the entire process again. Details says
ChkErrBB.CMD: Detect some error during PININST_BBV.
Its and endless loop and VERY annoying. I have tried resetting the bios to factory settings. removing the wifi card, redoing the recovery 8 times, skipping the "application an driver dvd" because its just stuff you try an get you to buy products etc. The only thing i get told by tech support OVER and OVER is to try an do the recovery again and if it fails to call back. Ive been without my laptop for a week now, failed an exam tonight because i didnt have my laptop for class and i was promised these dvd's would restore all the partitions and what not. The 1st rep who helped me totally screwed the partitions up by having me do some dumb stuff and now im just getting **bleep** on. I have a direct ## to a manager because my case has been escalated, but she herself has admitted she is not a technical person, so its not much help..... Can anyone help with this issue? Im almost at the point of disputting the charges on my credit card since it was bought 2 months ago and past store return. Defective product, cant get support they wont RMA my laptop nodda. Just want to send me recovery dvd's and i even paid for some that were never shipped..........

Hello st0n3r.  I apologize that you've been having issues getting your recovery to complete.
If you do reinstall Windows 7 with a retail disc there are some things you can do to expedite the process.  First, download and install the HP Software Framework and HP Support Assistant.  This will allow you to run HP Support Assistant to install most of the remaining software and drivers.
If you need to reinstall any of the third-party applications which came with the notebook you can use the HP Recovery Manager.

    I having trouble when i try to restore my laptop to factory setting, it tells me the Bootmanager is missing, this also happens with system restore.
    It very slow, and restoring it to factory worked once upon a time, and my laptop was great after that.
    I dont use it now as my main laptop, i have an Asus Transformer with windows 8.1, but its having its health check so im stuck with out it.
    I rememberd my HP laptop, but forgot about its problem untill i started using it, and i still cant restore it to factory and still get "bootmanager " missing.
    Please help, im disabled and rely on my laptop for shopping etc.

    Looks like the iPod Hardisk is having problem.
    Can you do the iPod Disk Diagnostics as posted by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.
    You system check maybe above but dont  go for Auto, select the Manual test, as tt2 described in his detailed post.

    Is the SIM from the carrier the device is locked to?
    Has the device ever been hacked or jailbroken?
    Have you tried simply removing and re-installing the SIM?  What about replacing the SIM?

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    In addition i have to say that i am VERY dissapointed with apple customer service. There is no support contact information (at least i couldnt find one), there is no german support forum and the support pages are obviously wrong. For example the part in which they explain how to restore your ipod.
    Let me quote:
    "Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
    * Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.

    Thats definetly wrong. I dont get these 4 option, my only option is to restore and update.
    I cant understand why i cant restore my ipod without itunes connecting to apple-server. And as stated above i cant get a working connection (always timeout error) - all my other software which updates per internet works fine (for example antivirus software). Thats really annoying.
    And on top there is no one i can contact personally if things dont work properly.

    You backup the phone memory data through PC Suit to your PC-I find it more convenient to backup the data on PC.

    Sorry, but the iPhone backup is an all or nothing deal when it comes to restoring. It is not designed to be user editable & one screw-up, attempting to do so, will make the whole backup un-useable.
    If you want to give editing such a shot, post back, including the OS on your computer, & I'll tell you how.

  • Cant restore 80GB Ipod because I dont have the Internet???

    So my wife bought me an 80gb Ipod and shipped it out to me (Im in Iraq). I hooked it up to my computer and it immediately started to work and sync all my music and what not onto it. I believe at the time I was using Itunes version 7.3. Well then I hooked it up to a friends computer and tried putting some music onto it and when I tried to eject it, it was taking forever! His computer was crazy slow so I got tired of waiting and just pulled the usb cord out of the computer. A few days later I tried to use it and all the music and videos were off the ipod but my photos were still on it. I tried to plug it into my computer and now im getting a message saying that itunes cannot read the contents of my ipod and that I need to go into the summary tab and restore it. So I try and restore the ipod but I CANT restore it because I dont have an active internet connection. And I will NOT be able to get an active internet connection to my laptop simply because im in Iraq!
    So my question is, is there any other way I can restore the Ipod without the internet?? I downloaded and installed the new version of itunes 7.5 and it still doesnt wanna work or restore. I have no idea what to do.
    We tried hooking it up to a friends computer and he said he found and fixed a virus that was on the ipod and then tried to bring it up on his computer. To our luck his computer recognized the ipod and it brought up all my music in his itunes. We tried syncing his library with my ipod, which it did! but when we ejected the Ipod. It still said no music or videos on it. But if you look at the memory space. It shows that it did infact sync his music but its labeled as "other" and not music. I then tried to hook it back up on my computer and it doesnt read it at all! I need help please!

    Otherwise, I'd say are you positive that iTunes on your computer and on your buddies computer were the same version? Reason I ask is my wife and I just bought iPods last weekend. She got a Nano and I got a Classic. I plugged hers in first. Got the updates and updated iTunes as well. After all that and charging a while I tried mine. Nothing. I can only assume that the almighty OS known as Winblows was confused by the whole thing and thus thought my iPod was already updated to the latest software which I think is 1.0.3. Or something like that. I eventually got mine going but differences in versions is certainly a possibility.
    Also, did you buddy have a USB 2.0 connection or 1.1? I noticed my wife's Nano taking much longer to charge than it should have. That's when I realized I had my stupid USB hub plugged into a USB 1.1 port on my computer instead of 2.0. So I'm just assuming this but I would say that could also cause the iPod to go slower. Just more to possibly explain why it was moving slow on your buddies computer.
    Look at your iTunes and if you iPod does show up look to see what version of software it has. Could be the culprit. Unless this really does boil down to an internet connection which would be kind of stupid if you know you've got the latest software. iTunes shouldn't force you to do that. Hope I've helped in some way anyway. If not, good luck with this.
