My HP laptop has recently started to go fuzzy and colourful, you can still see windows 8 in the background however it is distorted and cannot be used as you cannot read what is on the screen and the right side is not visible as the laptop has blow up the image cutting of that part of the screen.
My laptop is a HP ENVY m6, any help is appreciated.

  • MBP strange flickering blocks of multi-coloured lines on screen

    Hi
over the past few weeks when awaking from sleep my MBP 13" (mid-2012) has had this problem <a href="http://s1204.photobucket.com/user/sjwhite26/media/IMG_0035.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb404/sjwhite26/IMG_0035.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0035.jpg"/></a> i.e. blocks of multi coloured lines flickering on the screen.
You can use the machine, but its incredibly annoying and and reboot gets rid of it.  My issue is that it is happening more and more.  I also have the issue when the MBP won't always wake from sleep when using the mini display port attached to my screen.  This is viewable on the laptop's native screen as well as the dell screen.
Any help would be appreciated.  I've tried all the PRAM etc resets.
    Thanks

Let the battery full drain. After charging for at least an hour try again. Include thises suggestions as necessary.

He has not been on it for a while as he has a 2nd one from his mum but I forgot to check this out before warranty ran out.
I have tried system re boot, I thought it was due to him charging it with USB on xbox360.
    Can someone please help

    - Try restoring the iPod from backup.
    - If not successful then restore to factory defaults/new iPod

  • Vertical coloured lines on screen

Vertical coloured lines recently appeared - most stayed permanently - on screen. On-line research tells me that models with serial numbers W8....have this problem now. Mac retailers here say they have never heard of this. Solutions? Suggestions please.

Read the last twenty or so comments and then follow the directions from others to call Apple Care to see if your iMac qualifies for the program for Apple to replace the display out-of-warranty. This mostly applies to Early 2006 iMacs Core Duos.

The important piece of information is that for others Apple Care covered repair under EM80 article.

  • My Screen Display Has Random Coloured Lines?(IPad Mini3)

I do not know how this happened. All I did was put it in my bag and when I took it out to read some books this is what appeared...Please Help It Would Mean Alot...

I think you meant to link to the 'Tap tap tap' solution(?) > Re: iPad dropped, now with red screen/background ... although the success story adds credibility!
(tiny connector ribbons w/ plugs on the ends that sometimes jiggle loose can sometimes be UNjiggled)
FWIW, I have an old PowerBook that got wacky display, and it indeed was the ribbon connection - old PBs can be easily user serviceable, but iPads no can do.

  • IPod Nano Freezes when unplugged with static type line on screen

I've seen a lot about the "white screen" but mine is slightly different. It's a 2nd gen, 4GB. When plugged in, everything works fine. Syncs up, plays music, etc. As soon as it's unplugged, it gets a static looking bar across the screen and everything freezes. If music was playing, it stops, no chance of getting the click wheel to do anything. I've tried the 5r's and have done restores in regular mode and forced disk mode (since I can get the click wheel to work while plugged in). I eject it properly and everything. I'm leaning towards battery issue. Any one got a fairly certain answer ? I'm a technician and can replace my own battery if need be, but I'm new to the iPod so I'm still learning symptoms and solutions here.

    I forgot the details:
※ The iPod has Software Update v1.1.3 and recently been restored using iTunes v8.2.1 with no problem during the update/restore process.
※ The iPod works normally; battery charged when connected to PC (USB), internal speaker produces clicks (when using the wheel), screen light works fine, all settings have no problem.
※ The grey horizontal line only appeared when the light goes on (white). If the light goes off (dim), there is no grey horizontal line visible on the screen.
※ The grey horizontal line appeared at a quarter part of the screen (from the bottom of the screen), on the lower part of the Apple icon.

  • Rear Camera has horizontal white line across screen

Hi, I was given a playbook for Christmas and I love it but it has developed a horizontal white line on the rear camera which makes the camera and video unusable. I have customized my Playbook so am reluctant to take it back to the shop. Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I just accept that I'm not going to be able to use the rear camera or video? Hope you can help as in every other way my Playbook is perfect. Thanks.
    Solved!

If a Playbook is to be sent for repair, especially with an RMA, it is important to back up data files by WiFi sharing as a desktop software backup  may not work if the unit is replaced with a refurb or new unit.

  • Colour line on newer iPad mini comes and goes

    Hi,
My sister has an iPad mini that has thin colour lines in the screen that come and go, but the lines do not appear in screen shots. Any ideas?

    Hello Argmire,
As the lines do not appear in screenshots, they are caused by an issue with the iPad Mini's hardware. The webpage linked below details how to go about setting up service for the device.

  • HT3964 vertical lines on screen

Monitor has developed vertical lines down screen. Was told by Apple Store that it would cost $85 to look at it and being so old parts would most likely be available. Are parts still available?

In all fairness, I think you may agree that a 6 year life for a computer and monitor is generally considered reasonable, even in the PC world.  And I seriously doubt, if the monitor itself is failing, you'd be able to find the parts to fix a 6 year old LCD PC monitor.  Best wishes.
    Hope this helps

  • Green vertical lines on screen

dvd player sony model dvp ns57p has green vertical lines on screen.  any suggestions.  get a new playler blueray?

    Please try the steps below:
Adjust the color settings on your TV to make sure the issue is not a simple screen adjustment.
Make sure the disc player is properly connected. The disc player should be connected directly to a TV or Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. It should not be connected to a VCR. This issue can occur if a video signal encrypted with copyright protection passes through a VCR.
NOTE: When the disc player is connected through an A/V receiver, you should also check the connections between the A/V receiver and the TV.
If using A/V cables, check that the red, white, and yellow plugs are securely connected to the same colored jacks on both the disc player and TV (or A/V receiver).
If using component cables, check that the red, green, and blue plugs are securely connected to the same colored Y/P B /P R jacks on both the disc player and TV (or A/V receiver).
If using an S-Video cable, check that it is securely connected to both the disc player and TV (or A/V receiver).
Try playing a different disc to see if the issue only occurs with the one disc.
If the issue is occurring with more than one disc, replace the cables connecting the disc player to the TV (or A/V receiver).
NOTE: When the disc player is connected through an A/V receiver, you should also try changing or replacing the cable between the A/V receiver and TV.
Try connecting the disc player to different input jacks on the TV (or A/V receiver) and change the input mode accordingly to determine if the issue is with a particular input jack.
Try playing another video source (such as a VCR) to determine whether or not the issue only occurs with the disc player.
If the issue occurs with other video sources, then the problem is with the TV (or A/V receiver).
If the issue only occurs when using the disc player, then the disc player may require service.

My iPad has not been dropped or damaged at all. The screen is grey fuzzy and has coloured lines down the middle. iPad 3 also.

  • My ipad 1st gen has loads of coloured lines going across the screen so I can't see any ideas ?

My ipad first gen has loads of coloured lines going across the screen so I can't see any ideas ??

Try a reset: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't fix things, do a restore:

If that still didn't fix the issue, then there is probably a hardware problem.

  • A Prepares c700 (c742au) with Vista. graphics just coloured lines, but ok in safe mode??

    Hi
I have a presario c700, I have just formatted the hard drive installed vista, as before, computer starts up fine it then installs update sand drivers, i then lose the graphics all I get are multi coloured line on the screen. It works fine in safe mode.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

The video card has gone bad. The issue is video memory. The card only uses video memory above the minimum when Windows is loaded and the driver installed. So you can run in safe mode or even in Windows with default drivers but only when the actual video driver is loaded does the system try to access the higher video memory and it fails. The c700 has the same issues as the ill-fated dv6000 series. Your motherboard can be repaired. If you want more help post back as there are ebay vendors who will repair the motherboard/video card for around $70 and I can find the link for you given a little time.
