HP Envy replacing HDD and warranty conditions

Hi there,
I have an HP Envy 3012tx, I am looking to replace the hard drive that is in the laptop in the moment, however I have had some issues with the laptop so I want to ensure that this will not void my warranty.
Can someone please confirm that this will not void the warranty?

But unfortunately this is not true. It is one year warranty but not global. I was proved this wrong in Japan, Apple Store Ginza, as I was refused a replacement regardless of the fact that I had my Tax Invoice as well as it being covered by APP with my laptop. Although they were keen in offering me to buy a new one.
I was told that due to the fact that each country has its own WiFi standards that they must comply by, a foriegn Airport Express couldn`t get replaced even though I could be living in the country for another year and a half. Funny note to mention - I mentioned that if i was to get it fixed and sent back to me, wouldn`t I be going against Japanese standards? The answer I got was from the 'genius' was "Yes you would, but everyone does it". So why can't i get it replaced again?
Hence this is why I`m needing to find the specific documentation to save me sending it back overseas as there is no warranty if the item is damaged or even lost through the post.

Hello everyone, i would like some information.
I would like to change my hard drive because i don't trust toshiba drives and i had a hard crash while i was trying to boot camp... My questions is more warranty related i suppose...
So what i want is to buy a WD Scorpio 7200 rpm and change it for my self because i don't have any apple store in my country and the resellers are not trustworthy... And i was wondering if i will loose my warranty if doing that...

This is usually the important part of the message. I'm however, not convinced with this error message that the issue will be resolved with a hard drive replacement. Not to mention, the Western Digital drive has the same percentage of failure chance as the Toshiba drive (and the Hitachi drive... and the Seagate drive... etc.)
From my experience with a kernel_task as the BSD process related to the panic it's usually a hardware related failure. However, an easy way to identify this would be a clean install of the OS on the existing (or new HD). If the machine continues to panic, we've already eliminated software as the problem which would indicate a hardware-related issue.

I have a HP TouchSmart tm2 with Windows 7 Home Premium. The HDD is clicking and will not boot. Error: Boot device not found. I assume I have to replace the HDD but how do I recover/reinstall the OS without a recovery disk? Windows was preinstalled and I have the product key. Thank you.

You need a DVD burning program that will be able to burn ISO files so that the DVD is bootable. Burn at the slowest possible speed for best results.
Then install any drivers you need from your PC's support and driver page.

I recently replaced the original HDD in my wife's Macbook Pro 13" with a new WD Scorpio Blue 320GB 5400 rpm HDD. I restored the computer using time machine. Computer is running Snow Leapord 10.6.5. Everything is working well except....
...when my spousal unit uses a program such as MS Word, the computer lags to such an extent that it cannot display characters as quickly as she can type them. The whole machine seems to lag. This surprises me as the software should not be accessing the HDD for this kind of operation so I'm not sure why it lags now. This was the only change made to her system.
Any suggestions are appreciated as I hear about this from her every day and thus share her pain.

I do know how to do that, my real question is that we need to restore the photos that were lost before that, and they are in the previous backs of time capsule. When I try to go into the folder where the photos are in any of the listed backups, I am getting a message that states I do not have access to this folder. Formatting the drive and starting over is not an option that I am willing to look into. It seems that the new HDD has given her user a new SSID and that it is not the same user that created the backup, therefore she cannot access it to do any restoration back into iPhoto. Is there a way to re-address the permissions without compromising the data contained within the packages of iPhoto so that we can retreive the entire collection along with the books and slideshows that are in iPhoto from the Time Machine made backups?

Satellite A205-replaced HDD and recovery CD not working; media test failure

Please help,
My wife's computer crashed, it all started with windows\system32\en file corrupt or missing. Took it in to the geek squad and diagnostics test said hard drive corrupt.
(Trying to recover the data is another problem to solve later)
To save money I ordered a new HDD (WD320GB) installed the new HDD, inserted the recovery disc and get the following message:
Pre-boot execution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM
Operating System not found
I can see the new HDD in the BIOS, I've changed the boot order to start with CD/DVD drive but still get the message above.
What now?

I want to say thanks to all who helped. The problem with recovery CD's not working was the DVD drive.
I was able to get a used DVD drive really cheap and was able to reinstall to factory condition.
Just for kicks once the install and all updates were completed I stuck the old DVD drive back in and still didn't work. So other than alot of time online and looking around for a DVD drive that would fit the laptop, I spent less than $10 for DVD drive and $65 for another hard drive which is good news, the bad news is my wife couldn't live anylonger without Facebook and bought another laptop, HP this time.
Well my daughter will have a Tosh to do her school projects.
Now to figure out what caused the crash, loss of data and DVD not to work in the first place.

Replaced hdd and system won't boot up.

I replaced my hard drive in my hp dv7 laptop and went through the recovery process and it will not boot up. When I turn on it freezes up at the hp screen.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

1. I would suggest taking it to a computer shop and having them take a look at it or run system diagnostic.
2. Your new hard drive could be bad or defective, might have gone out or something got way to hot inside there and got toasted.
3. You need to reinstall diffrent hard drive or try to remove all, you should try boot laptop with out any hard drive ?
4. Disconnect your hard drive see if no longer freezes during system boot?
I'm afraid, this has happened to me a few times.

Problems with replacement phone and out of warranty

Had to replace first iphone 5 due to software issues now second phone will can not adjust volume down. Also when making phone call and trying to hang up have use button on top right outside to get back into screen if other caller does not hang up. No I do not have a screen protector. Took to 2 different apple store locations and no help whatsoever. Called apple and pretty much the same luck. I would not be complaining if this wasn't already a replacement phone and the condition of phone is mint. I have purchased every iphone since the 3g and also have macbook pro recently purchased and I am not happy I am getting no help. Do not feel I should have to pay 270 for a replacement phone when I spent 400+ on brand new phone and have a broken replacment phone. To be honest with how I have recieved no assistance and I am a loyal customer I may be looking elsewhere when I decide to upgrade.

HP Envy 17t -k200: 2nd HDD and SED Support

1) I ordered 2 of these systems, and was informed by two seperate sales reps that this model supports 2 internal HDDs. I have been unable to locate the 2nd drive bay, and the User Guide unfortunately doesn't help much. Tech Support say that I need to speak to HP Shopping, and they in turn transfer me back to Tech Support. Does this model support 2 HDDs, and if so where is the 2nd drive bay please?
2) I have a Samsung EVO 850 SSD which supports SED (Self Encrypting Drive) technology, however it needs a hard drive password to be set in the BIOS. I cannot see this option. Does this laptop not support something as basic as hard drive passwords?

Well, new design. After reading the manual which clearly says customer CAN'T replace the HDD (void warranty) I know why. I've been swapping HDD's and SSD's many times and in many cases I can swap in and out for 3mins to 5mins. But not this new machine (from reading the manual). For SED, very intresting Self Encription thing needs a software (why microcode - firmware can't do this ?) to work.

Flex 2 14 Warranty when replacing HDD

Hi!
I am thinking of buying the Flex 2 14. The version I'm thinking ships with 1TB HDD which I'd like to replace with a 500GB SSD. The only problem I'm having is that, as far as I know, replacing HDD in Flex 2 requires opening the whole laptop, which in turn means breaking the warranty sticker. Does this really void the warranty? Who should I contact? I haven't found any local stores which could do replacing for me without breaking the sticker.
Ps. I live in Finland if that helps.

Hi Oren, I also have had this problem, and this IS a design error which makes only the lower half of the key usable. Another thing is that I come from a Keyboard with the square keys, and I am used to hitting the key anywhere will produce a letter on the screen. The Lenovo Flex 2 14 is using chiclets /island based keys and by design very different.As a result I had to practice with this new keyboard, and after a few days (3-5) I wasn't making as much typing mistakes as when I first bought it. And now I barely miss a letter. (Also I challenged myself to "Typing of the Dead" game which helped enormously ) I would not say that this keyboard is unsuable, but rather something that you have to be determined to use. Because all in all the Lenovo Flex 2 14 is a pretty cool computer with most of the stuff anyone would need and a good price too. FLEX 3 Coming soon!

I just did a google search on this issue. OMG, I got a ton of videos on this or similar issues. Each one says in some way to clear the cache, reset the data, etc. Why in the world would this continue to happen and they not do a fix that resloves this without having to lose or stop what your doing. This is a very long and constant issue it seems with Android phones as there must have been pages and pages of what I now call "Unfortunately" So I am going to pray that Verizon helps me out and gets me away from this issue and helps me go back to iPhone or try the Samsung.

HT3805 I recently replaced my internal HDD and cannot restore Vault created in 3.43

I have a late 2009 iMac and had to replace HDD. Prior to replacement I had version 3.43 and i made a vault of all existing image files on an external HDD. When I reinstalled Aperture I got version 3.44 and when I try to restore vault it will not open.

I copied vault bact to internal HDD and tried to restore library
