Hi, I bougth one laptop Hp Envy 17 3D 2090nr, and I update hardware, first had one Intel Core i7 2630qm, and 8 gb Ram to 1333Mhz, two hard drives of 750gb, and I change to one processor Intel Core I7 2720qm, Memory HyperX kingstone to 1600Mhz, and SSD HyperX kingstone 120Gb, but I check in the Aida64 Extremum and the processor say ( CPU Mobile QuadCore , 3000 MHz (30 x 100) Sandy Bridge) but all system dont work to 1600Mhz, the chipset is HM67, Why dont work to 1600mhz? is possible that problem is in the Bios?
I put the last Bios release ( Bios F.1A)

Turboboost is a feature which you cannot enable or disable it. Its activated when OS requests for it. Download the Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Monitor from here and see how this features gets automatically active on the Notebook.

Ram won't work on Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Mini - but it works on a Macbook

I purchased 6 gigs of ram from OWC. 3 gigs for the Mac Mini and 3 for the Macbook. I tried both sets of ram on the Macbook and it booted fine.
When I installed it on the Mac Mini, nada, ingenting, nothing - the mini would signal the dvd drive, but wouldn't boot. I guess the mini is more sensitive to ram quality. I'll have to go for higher quality ram for this particular situation.
I put the same ram into the Macbook and it worked just fine.

Is your Mac Mini a 2 USB port Mac Mini or 4? The 4 is Intel, the 2 is PowerPC. That makes a difference in the kind of RAM you can install in it.

If you are running 10.6.8 you can download 10.9 from the App Store and install it with going through 10.7 and 10.8 first. 10.9 Mavericks is a free download in the App Store.
10.9 Mavericks will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

The GPU in a iMac is NOT upgradeable.
You should check to see if your model of iMac meets the minimum specs to run FCPX.
I believe that your GPU is NOT OpenCL capable, and hence not supported.
Even if it works, you would probably get marginal performance.
What you can do is download the trial version and see how (and if) it works.

If you are trying to upgrade using a gray-faced OS X disk from another system, that won't work, as those disks are locked to the system types they are delivered with. You'll need to drop the $29 on a retail copy of Snow Leopard, which is available from the Apple online store. Note Snow Leopard requires 1GB minimum, and you may want at least 2GB for better performance.

You can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, and then, you should be able to use OS X Lion.
First, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Then, make a backup of your data, insert the Snow Leopard disc and upgrade to Snow Leopard.
The disc will install Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open  > Software Update to install 10.6.8, the most recent Snow Leopard version.

So just to be clear on a few things:
Should partitioning the hard drive not work is it undoable?
Will this have any impact on doing a complete erase and reinstall and will that restore it back from the process?
Is there a limited amount of space that makes this process ineffective?
I have never had to do this sort of thing so I just want to be sure I don;t wind up in the dog house *)
