I have a HP F380 All in one printer. I donwloaded the driver for Windows 7 (64 bit). The installation program abbruptly dies with an error
Please advise how I should proceed now.

Hello shrijoshi,
I see that you're getting a runtime error when you are trying to install the HP Deskjet F380 on your Windows 7 (64 bit) machine. Please follow the steps listed below:
Hold down the Windows Logo key ( ) on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
Open folder Util
Open folder CCC
If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe . If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Click Start , and then click Run .
In the Open box, type msiexec /unreg, and then click OK .
Click Start , and then click Run .
In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK
Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads .html
Now we can restart the computer
I would now like you to install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard it was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer
Your HP F380 should now be successfully installed, if you run into any problems please let me know.
Thank you,
HevnLgh

  • Printing problem with HP F380 All-in One printer.

My HP F380 All-in One has stopped printing in colour. Don't know if I've accidentally changed a setting but I've unchecked 'Print in grayscale' and no difference.  Can anyone please advise.

    Hi there,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP F380 has stopped printing in color, and I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please take a look through this guide. Streaks or Lines in the Printed Image.

No Problem. Is everything working now or this tool only removed the HP software? If so, then try downloading the full feature software to see if this fails or not here. Please choose your correct operating system; Either 32 bit or 64 bit. I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - G510n & Win 7. Installing since October Last Year.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A665 Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  Initially I installed the Printer software and Drivers from the product disc, connect via USB during setup as requested and the printer would work fine, until I shut it down at the end of the day.  The next day, I get the message that the "Drivers for Officejet 4500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - G510n are missing".  This all started last October and continues.   The Network diagnostic tool doesn't see the printer, but the Print & Scan Diagnostic tool identifies it, but then the program stops responding.
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled the drivers and software from both the product disc and from hp.com at least 10 times. I have installed the basic setup as well as the full installation. the only thing I can think of is when the printer goes into power saving mode, I lose my wireless connection.

It sounds like your printer IP address might be changing.   Have you run the HP print scan doctor?
hp.com/go/tools  --> HP Print and Scan Doctor
This tool will often find issues with printer driver installation.
I don't have a OfficeJet 4500 here, but if there is a wireless button you can push it, get the wireless menu, select IP address.   Does this match the IP Address you find when you select  "(Windows Start) --> All Programs --> HP --> HP OfficeJet 4500 --> Update IP Address" from Windows?
If they don't match, use the IP address from the printer and type it into the Update IP Address window.  This may help...

I see that you are having an issue with the light on the printer staying on solid.  One thing that you can try is to make sure you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip.  Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general.
Please click on the link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Once you have the power cable in a wall outlet, power cycle the printer with the use of the ON/OFF button.
If you are still having issue or if you have any other questions, please feel free to write me back.
Hope you have a great Tuesday.

  • Dell 944 All-In-One Printer - Corrupt Driver R153723.exe?

Have been trying to get an Dell AIO 944 printer to work with Win7Pro x64.  When I run (unzip) the Vista-64bit driver (R153723.exe) there is no setup.exe file whatsoever created in the R153723 directory and nothing happens. The folder is empty except for a 'Fax" subdirectory.
For a comparison I tried a Vista-64bit driver for an AIO 924 printer (R148157.exe) and it does create such a setup files and the printer installation starts right up.  It fails when asked to plug in the printer which it correctly doesn't recognize as an 924 printer.  When displaying the contents of the R148157 directory you can clearly find a Setup.exe, Setup.ini and dlcccd1.id files.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with the R153723.exe driver?
    Tim

Sorry for the delay Rick.  Tried it out last Wednesday then went out of town until Monday.
Bottom line it did not work.  The installation program starts up fine and finishes three of the four steps (Preparing System for install; Transferring software; Installing software) then crashes on the fourth (and final) step; Detecting your printer. A message box immediately pops up with the following "Hardware installer has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Eventually another message box pops up with: "Windows Script Error "
    Script: C:\drivers\printer\944\dlcdEN.vbs
    Line: 11
    Error: Permission denied
    Code: 800A0046
    Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
As for the "Permission Denied" error, running this with or without administrator privileges makes no difference.   I have also tried running the installation using all other previous versions of Windows under Compatibility Options.  It fails every time at the "Detecting your printer' step.  I have screen shots of the above if that helps. Very frustrating.
Today I researched VB 'permission denied' errors (apparently this is an error 70) and found nothing that jumps out at me as an obvious solution.  There was a reference to elevating client privileges in a server setting using DCOM (support.microsoft.com/.../180384). The computer (Dell Optiplex) is not networked but might this service need to be running since it's an older installation program? Was also thinking this might be a .Net Framework or VB runtime issue i.e. with the wrong version.
So any suggestions or another version of the installation program to try?
    Thanks, Tim

  • F380 All-IN-One Printer

Since i have switched from Windows XP to Window 7, I am no longer able to check the ink levels in my printer. What can i do to be able to do so again?  I still have the installation disk but I'm not sure if I need to use it again because the printer is already working.  Is there some other way I can see the ink levels?
    Analyticalmind

Hello @Analyticalmind , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing ink read issues. I would like to try and help with that.
I would recommend starting by powercycling your computer, and performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Wireless printing from a Deskjet F380 All In One printer

Is it possible to print from my G72 laptop to my F380 AIO printer without using a cable. I understand a wireless mouse and laptop operate by plugging a device into a desktop's USB port. Is something similar possible by plugging a device into teh printer?
    Thanks for your replies.

The F380 has no wireless capabilities - so using the usb cable is mandatory if you want to print from your G72.
If you still want to print wireless
what you could do is to buy a printserver - so you connect your printer to the printserver and this can work wireless towards your G72.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Print_server
    Another option
If you want to  get wireless is to get a Wireless printer , were this funcionality is build in.
an HP wireless printer would be the F4580.

Try working through this support document. it walks through resetting the power module and testing it. It also includes a video which is very helpful.

  • F380 all in one printing from MS Publisher 2003 & Windows XP

I am having trouble printing from Publisher 2003 only when I use the multiple per page with the numberering or merge function to print labels 3 or 5 to the page.
The function works as the printer icon pops up and it shows a number of pages to print but there is no printing action. I thought it may be a switch or toggle on the printer setup. I have looked at the printer features "Poster Printing" which I have disabled. Not sure if that is the problem or even how to use it.
    Need help.

You got a Win 7 Sony laptop that can print over the network and a Win 7 Acer that can't.  In that case I would compare settings and look for differences.  Click on Device and Printers and then Printer properties.  Compare the settings on the ports tab and correct if needed.  Also look for differences in firewall configurations.  Is network configured as public on the problem computer and private on the one that works?

The driver stops downloading part way. Tried many browsers

    joshuawkj,
I am sorry you are having an issue with downloading the drivers. I would check with your Internet provider since this seems to only be happening on your PC. Your Internet could be dropping the connection, if even for a millisecond or a few seconds. Any drop in connection can cause downloads to fail.
    I hope this helps

  • Deskjet F380 All in One; pdf printing to a fax printer which doesn't exist

For some reason anytime we try to print a pdf (or photo) the pc will not let us select our HP F380 All in One printer, but instead will only let us select a Fax printer.  I have no idea where that would have come from as I have never faxed from this computer.

  • Scanning on my c5280 all in one printer-scanner-copier

since purchasing my lap running windows 8.1 I have been unable to scan from my all in one printer to my pc. all it allows you to do is to scan the document to a memory card or reprint the image

Hello , Welcome to the HP Community. I'd like to help you with the issue you are having scanning on your Windows 8.1 system with your HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One printer. I would suggest installing the full feature software for your product. Fortunately, the full software suite is still available for download for your Windows 8.1 operating system. You can download the software here: HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver If the issue persists, I suggest trying to install the printer using the Windows Update. You can find all of the steps to do that here (under Step Two: Method Two): HP Single-Function and Multifunction Printers - The Printer Does Not Print in Windows 8 and is Listed as 'Unknown' or 'Unspecified' or Appears with a Yellow Triangle in the Devices and Printers Folder If you're still unable to scan after installing the printer using Windows Update, try downloading the HP Scan and Capture app from the Windows Store. Please respond to let me know if these suggestions helped to resolve your issue!
